To all bears, watch the latest di stefano video on you tube. Is he onto something?

Believable4 Unbelievable3

I personally think hes as mad as a hater, BUT maybe there is something, and if shareholders want to do something why not open a, class action, whereby everybody can join together and go to court and share the costs. Also i think its possible to join his action as part of this idea, surprised he hasnt mentioned it. Just an idea! !

Agree3 Disagree1

More likely that he is "on" something, rather than "onto" something.

Agree5 Disagree0

He's barking mad and a complete crook, but that old saying set a thief to catch a thief.......

but if he starts legal action as he says he will today it could shake a few branches.

Ed what's the script with insolvency law?
Are we allowed all the old club badges mottos brands colours etc,..? Who police's insolvency law? Do they wait for a complainant?
Is the club being over confident, a bit arrogant by trying to get away with this issue? {Ed039's Note - Honestly I dont think you are, but surely somebody would have noticed. Anybody else noticed that there are versions of the strip with and without sponsors, i know alcohol wasnt allowed on the kids kits, but its adult versions as well, does that mean the sponsor is going. There are so many questions we need answers to, HOPEFULLY find out next Saturday)

Believable0 Unbelievable3

The new strips are called 2012 strips not 2012-2013 season strips which is odd.

Agree2 Disagree0

On liquidation, Wimbledon under insolvency law had to change everything as its a new club. They had to have a new name MKDons, new badges/ logos , new strip designs and colours. Why Rangers wouldn't have to do the same is baffling. But then again Rangers have always believed themselves a special case, this is what gets them into trouble.
The club officially are not allowed to have the name 'Rangers' anywhere. The RFC and red lion on a football are not allowed and the light blue colour is to be changed to another colour.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes there's 2011-2012 strips, then the 2012 strips but not 2012-2013 strips, which is very very odd, strips have always had both dates of a season mentioned in the past.
It's sale of goods law. If Rangers aren't there in 2013 there is an argument for refunds!

Agree1 Disagree0

& you could buy the previous strips without sponsors as well

if ian black was to sign for us in div 3, could you see him as a future ranges captain ?

wouldnt have seen me writing this post a yar ago lol
BALLYBOY

Believable6 Unbelievable5

Dont know about future captain bud, but i was on this site a few months back (before we had even been linked with him) arguing the point of how much a great signing Black would be. hopefully it turns out to be the case that we do get to sign him

Gary W.A.T.P

Agree4 Disagree5

Ian will play for us and will become a legend. Spoke with him 4 weeks ago at a familly party he is looking to make a name for himself as not only a tough tacckler but someone who can fight a corner and not only that can become a legend which he would if we go 3,2,1 dustybin!! Because that is what will be left when we arive back in the SPL.

Agree2 Disagree5

No he wont:No you did not:No he cant.Legend? The bar has fell since Laudrup,Gascoine,Baxter etc.

Agree0 Disagree0

He has a habit of getting sent off, but as long as he 'screws the nut' then i will be happy to cheer him on for us. I like a player who plays with passion for his team, not some reckless person who just flies into tackles.

Ed whast is the chance all Rangers Supporters could invite HMRC to explain why they waited till exactly one week before the proposed CVA was going to be determined if acceptable or not. Surely HMRC in the interests of the public must have been well aware after Rangers went into administration that a CVA was just never going to happen, and on the basis we are going to give them the benefit of the doubt at the beginning just in case there might have been some serious level of investment, there is no getting away from the fact that many weeks before the actual CVA was going to happen HMRC could easily have told DUFF and PHELPS it was a HUGH NO and at the very least Duff and Phelps would not have creamed as much money as they actually have done. {Ed039's Note - It wouldnt have mattered, when the CVA was proposed D&P would still have had to have gone through the formalities. At the end of the day HMRC dont need to answer to Rangers fans, they are responsible to the treasury and have got to do what they feel is in their best interests)

Believable2 Unbelievable4

If you had been bothered enough to check the HMRC website it told you they do not accept CVA proposals for companies with bad tax compliance records.Still shocks me that so many fans have not got a clue about what is happening.

Agree13 Disagree3

Agree with this poster. The Rangers official
website or RM or such should be educating
gers fans as to what is happening to the club.i.e. in regards to punishments, sanctions etc.

Agree4 Disagree2

Aye very good, as far as I'm aware this was the first time that we had not paid tax,as for the yawn ongoing tax case we wait and see, can't believe the amount off smart arses after the event we have on here, na in retrospect I should have

Agree2 Disagree5

@1 grow up sonny, rangers paid tax for well over 100 years and may have used a legal scheme in an improper way for a few years, yes in the last year the artful dodger decided he would pay no tax but if you look at the big picture then HMRC would have accepted a reasonable CVA,
again get aff the high horse

JG

JG

Agree3 Disagree6

Post3; Are you really that thick? you have been disputing a tax bill for seven years! Wee tax case and big tax case ring a bell?Thats why you were never getting a CVA.

Agree4 Disagree2

JG;Once again your lack of knowledge is very telling. You have been in dispute with HMRC for years over the BTC,that was always going to count against you.The artfull dodger also blanked THREE types of tax payments. There was no chance of a CVA being accepted.

Agree4 Disagree1

@1 And what about Portsmouth 2p in the pound they accepted, and they've never had tax issues before I don't think. They were never going to accept any pence in the pound deal with Rangers due to the involvement of Craig Whyte. It's his non payment of tax that ruffled feathers in my opinion.
SCM

Agree3 Disagree0

@7. Part of the reason they knocked back the CVA was because their fingers were burnt by the Portsmouth CVA which failed.

HMRC said all the way through it that they couldn't comment on any CVA proposal until they had seen it. When the received it they knocked it back. I'm sure if it had been 80p in £ they would have taken a different view. Portsmouth did not deliberately avoid paying tax, so there is a clear disctinction between the two cases.

Agree0 Disagree1

Post 7;HMRC did not have a say in the portsmouth situation as they were a minor creditor

Rangers unseeded in Scottish Communities League Cup draw

19 July 2012 14:26 BST

Kilmarnock are the current holders of the Scottish Communities League Cup, having defeated Celtic in the 2011/12 final. Pic: © SNS Group
Rangers will be in the draw for the first round of the Scottish Communities League Cup when it is made on Friday.

The Third Division side will be unseeded as they enter the competition. 29 teams from the Scottish Football League’s three divisions will be joined in the draw by SPL club Dundee.

Rangers’ participation is dependent on the Scottish Football Association granting Charles Green’s newco the necessary membership to play football.

Alex Salmond will conduct the draw, which will take place at Stenhousemuir's Ochilview Park at 12.30pm on Friday.

First round games are currently scheduled to be played on Saturday, August 4.

The seven Scottish Premier League clubs not participating in European competition this season will enter at the second round stage. Celtic, Dundee United, Hearts, Motherwell and St Johnstone join in the third round.

The League Cup trophy has returned to Ibrox a record 27 times since the competition’s formation in the 1946/47 season. Celtic have won on 14 occasions, followed by Aberdeen (five), Hearts (four), Hibernian, Dundee, East Fife (three) and six other winners.

Kilmarnock are the current holders, having won the tournament for the first time in their history when they defeated Celtic 1-0 at Hampden in March this year.

If Rangers are unseeded then they are clearly a new football club with no football history. If the new club was a continuation of the old club it would have the illustrious footballing history and would indeed be seeded.
Unseeded= zero history, simples.

Believable10 Unbelievable10

Nah were still here pal, thousands of us. Comments like this just spur us on, oh how sweet its gona be when Rangers are back on top even if it takes 15 years. If its Sevco, Newco they still represent the Rangers that a first saw wi ma old dad. The only constant in a Football Club is in its generations of Supporters and the memories they hold, thats history mate a company name change will not change that, we to me anyway.

So you keep posting silly comments about us no being the same Rangers.
Because ma friend am gona be eating sweet cherry pie when we are top again.

Wise auld Bear

Agree9 Disagree7

Let's get it right. Charles Green's The Rangers are not the football club incorporated in 1899 and finished the SPL season 2011/2012 in second place. That football club is being liquidated.
This new club would be in third round of the Scottish cup if it were the same club.
If it were the same club, it would still own the same SFA membership. A transfer of membership to the new club wouldn't be needed.

Agree6 Disagree2

If it was that simple, we wouldn't be having a debate about it, would we. In my view, the Company that owned Rangers Football Club went into administration and will shortly be liquidated. The Company owns the licence, which is why we had to (rightly) reapply. This does not mean that the football club (and it's history) is done. The 'Club' is an entity of the Company and was sold as an asset of the Company to Charles Green, along with the badge, motifs, etc.

Agree2 Disagree2

@3)....the notion that the football club is an entity separate to its incorporated company is ridiculous and lies.
Anyone who writes or speaks such nonsense is a buffoon.
Rangers was founded in 1872 and was incorporated in 1899 as required by association football rules to meet FairPlay financial requirements. This was done so that no one could thereafter say a football club is not a company! Yet you are repeating that nonsense here.

Believable9 Unbelievable2

UEFA/FIFA have no meetings planned ? You got access to their diaries have you ? ...... I appreciate it's a rumours site but doesn't really excuse blatant lies

Agree0 Disagree3

Can't see UEFA/FIFA agreeing to meet any club chairman.

Agree1 Disagree1

@1. STV and C4 have been phoning UEFA all week checking if they have meetings, so post OP is correct.

I suspect he's in Switzerland trying to raise more investment to fill the big hole in their finances and to clear the football creditors debt. He has a week to conclude all this or there is no start of season for us.

Agree1 Disagree0

I think he's tried to get agreement on payback to rapid Vienna and others, without UEFA being present.
Probably has to be personally in Switzerland to sign up to new offshore bank accounts and companies articles of association.
Maybe also trying to talk to UEFA about the lost history and using same badges.
If he had any positive news better believe he would have released it in minutes.

Question for all?
Doe anyone know where we are with the application for the licence to play in the SFL ?
I'm getting more that a bit worried by the growing silence from Mr Green and the SFA ! Surely Mr Green would have been better attending the meeting with the SFA rather than jumping on a plane to meet other footballing authorities maybe I've got it wrong but in simple terms there's no point having a Ferrari in the drive if I don't have a licence to take it anywhere !

Believable6 Unbelievable1

He never had a meeting with FIFA or UEFA either..Got a bad feeling about the whole thing

Agree3 Disagree0

We do have a chairman as well who was meeting with SFA

JG

19 Jul 2012 16:39:57
Has anyone seen the Tom Boyd stuff in the DR? Can someone please tell me how the SFL can strip Rangers of the SPL titles they won? In addition, the parasites at the SFL that want to negotiate the Rangers TV deal need to hang their heads in shame. Its fine to punt us to the 3rd Division for "integrity" reasons but we will take the money that you generate for us. We should sort out our own TV deal.

Believable8 Unbelievable9

Tom Boyd is referring to titles that the old Rangers won in the ebt era, if found guilty it is likely that some of the players that won these titles Rangers probably couldn't have afforded them without the ebts, the side letters that have alleged to have been issued with ebts are against the sfa spl rules as well, if found guilty then Rangers would have had a unfair advantage over everybody in the spl and cups so only fair they should be taken away if true, nobody should be awarded league titles though if they are stripped, imo

Agree4 Disagree1

If you really need those two points explained you are beyond hope.

Agree4 Disagree0

FA now getting tough with Portsmouth as a condition of playing on. This is the same type of position the SFA are taking with Rangers - principle is yes you can join but we need to avoid this happening ever again.

"On top of starting the new season on minus 10 points, whoever buys Pompey must agree that only a limited proportion of the secured debt can be carried forward into the new company.

They must also agree to pay all football creditors in full, unless an alternative agreement is reached.

And they must agree to restrictions on playing budgets, future borrowing and loan repayments for the next five seasons."

If we have to pay out on the footballing debts does that mean that we will receive outstanding transfer money currently owed to the club as well?

Ed- any updates from the sfa on rangers licence being granted? {Ed052's Note - nothing yet mate. hopefully tomorrow we will find out and will be able to move on.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

9 days from the first game and this has still to be resolved, unbelievable this could only happen with the SFA and the idiots in charge of the asylum, get an acceptable compromise, grant the licence and tell us we will have a transfer embargo for six months starting on 1st January. Lets move on

JG

Agree5 Disagree2

Post1; It is your owner who is holding the process up! And you have the cheek to ask for an ACCEPTABLE compromise! Show some humility for goodness sake.

Agree3 Disagree2

@2 i am getting really p"£sed of with the 'have some humility' crap, i have nothing to feel humitidy about, your propoganda might work on some but not on me, now try stop being obsessed with all things red white and blue
no one liked us before no one likes us now, get aff yer high horse before you fall aff it

JG

Agree3 Disagree4

JG; Glad the heats not bothering you but the point is valid.Green is holding the licence up,no one else.

Agree2 Disagree0

@2 Why the hell should we show humility we have committed no crime. I'm getting sick to the back teeth of idiots coming on here demanding we show contrition and humility for the crimes of others. Are we sorry this has happend? bloody right we are. Are we sorry to all the creditors & teams that will lose money? bloody right we are. But stop coming on here sticking the boot in and being judge, jury & executioner. We will take our punishment if found guilty but that punishment is not for you to decide. We just want to rebuild and get back to playing football so go and kick the s**t out of someone else we've had enough. Rant over

Agree1 Disagree3

Thing is all the other clubs that went into administration and insolvency didint suffer the abuse we get instead people tried to help them ,as the old saying goes what goes round comes around ,in other words ignore them and they will get their day doug t.s.o

Agree0 Disagree2

Other clubs who went into liquidation honestly ran out of funds. Rangers were cheating rogues who didnt pay 273 creditors up to £145m including social taxes, employees NI and vat!!
To acquire entrance back into the Scottish football family you need to achieve redemption from us. We cannot give you redemption unless u show contrition, say sorry and ask forgiveness. Such humility will be rewarded.

Agree0 Disagree0

Poster 7 i think you and the rest of scottish football should take your redemption case with 2 certain people not acting for rfc but acting for themselves ,we know whyte is in monaco ,where is murray hiding ? anyway your figure of 135 million isnt a true figure yet ,has there been a decision on a tax bill yet ,if its down to hmrc to get figures right you will wait forever ,i have first hand experience of that doug t.s.o

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Jul 2012 15:33:27
As a celtic fan i have no problems with the rangers history, you cant change it. if new rangers want to carry this to their new club so be it.

However you must carry the liability and nay punishment that goes with it.

if not ......history stays with old rangers

As for stripped titles ...dont want them but if found rules broken, they must be removed

Believable13 Unbelievable9

You missed a bit there at the end of your post timmy

"and given to us please please please" and the cups as well please please please how desperate are you to emulate the famous rangers

JG

Agree8 Disagree7

Well as you say.."If found"... nothing has been decided yet.

Let's not be in any doubt what's going on here and where all this nonsense started.
This sporting integrity drivel is nothing more than a love child borne and nurtured by those who who have an affiliation to CFC.
They continually "wail wail" about sporting integrity cheating, and fair play. Their manager and these phrases do not go hand in hand as we know, but that is for another day.

Is it sporting or morally correct for Celtic FC's manager to be spouting off about possible punishments and how they would be morally justified when we are yet to be made aware of the outcome?

It would appear our rivals across the city are not yet tired of sticking the boot in to our club.
By suggesting possible sanctions or punishments being meted out prior to an event taking place NL is attempting to influence the outcome.
If you need any other reason to support our club through these difficult times,
think only of this.
Do you want RFC to survive more than the CFC connections want us to die?
It really is that simple...and blatantly obvious.
Get your hand in your pockets, and keep our club alive.
Because as much as our history annoys them, i'll bet our future and us still being around will annoy them even more.

P.O.B.

Agree11 Disagree7

I think you'll find that it's the authorities P.O.B. that are taking the action against Rangers in relation to alleged dual contracts and not Lennon or Celtic.
Mac2.

Agree4 Disagree2

P.O.B. For gods sake give it a rest. The OP said he wouldn't want any stripped titles given to Celtic. This isn't some sort of Celtic conspiracy designed to kill of Rangers. Any sanctions that are levelled at Rangers will be as a result of mismanagement and wrong doing from within the walls of Ibrox. As for Neil Lennon, no doubt he has done nothing but honestly answered a question levelled at him by someone in the media. Whats the big deal. Has no Rangers manager ever answered questions levelled at him by journo's about Celtic. Infact did Ally McCoist not have something to say regarding Celtic's financial problems in the ninities. Also along the lines of "sporting integrity" the majority of the Scottish football supporting public made themselves heard, not just Celtic fans or the club. How many times in the past have you heard about cup tie results being over turned due to a wrongly fielded ineligable player? Its a regular occurance, so if Rangers are found to have fielded ineligable players over any period of time then like every other club they will have to take whatever punishment the SFA decide is appropriate.

Pedro

Agree4 Disagree3

JG; I dont think many Celtic fans are interested in getting back dated titles.Bit paranoid are we?

Agree2 Disagree3

Emulate rangers ,i have said before on this site you are in your present situation
by trying to win ten in a row beating celtic 8-1 in a cup final and being champions of europe, failed in all three that was the aim, said by murray and butcher.

Agree6 Disagree3

That's the whole point of my post Pedro.
I won't be giving this a rest mate.
CFC are out to kill my club off. End of.
Have you seen NL recently? He's never looked so relaxed in years.
He could be accused of trying to influence the outcome,or at the very least incite trouble. We are continually reminded that NL is a clever man,who keeps his own counsel. He knows this himself, and his statement the day after RFC went into admin in February he said he would have plenty to say once all the facts are known. Well Newsflash... they are still to be revealed,so he should have kept his trap shut!
P.O.B.

Agree3 Disagree3

@5 your having a Fn laugh if you expect me to believe that

JG

Agree2 Disagree1

Just remember poster 6 we were in europe long before yous , we have our records what do you have ? some old 78s in bakelite lol doug t.s.o

Agree1 Disagree2

Ok P.O.B I cant believe I am entering into debate about this but how are Celtic trying to kill your club off? It seems that your club made a good enough job of doing that itself? NL looks relaxed, perhaps thats down to the fact that he is away with his squad enjoying preseason training? Or perhaps because he has just won his first title? Or perhaps because no one has tried to blow him or his family up in a while? Or perhaps because the recent court cases are behind him or he is getting over the grief of the death of one of his best friends? Really mate I know you are hurting. I would be to if my club was in the same position as yours, I honestly have nothing but sympathy for the decent Rangers supporters. However the paranioa is screaming out of every post you make. This is about Rangers and what they have done to themselves and there apparent wrong doings. Pedro

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes Pedro, it is about Rangers and their apparent wrongdoings. So why is CFC's manager commenting on it?
I realise that in time he may have a vested interest if RFC are found culpable, but my point is why has he came out and said this now?
Nothing has been decided yet.
I never said that CFC are trying to kill us off per say. It is Celtic affiliated people.
I don't accept the view that he was asked a question and simply gave an answer. He is either knowingly trying to influence the outcome or has unwittingly incited ill feeling.I do not believe NL to be a stupid man.
Our demise was of our own making there can be no denying that, however, the Rangers Tax Case, Phil Three names, Wordpress, and other CFC affiliated journalists and supporters have been on every form of media available contacting UEFA,FIFA,BBC and CH4 journalists regarding RFC at every opportunity.
Why is that?
Sporting integrity Pedro? Don't make me laugh. There is an underlying "dislike" from fans of both clubs towards each other, some would call it rivalry.
The one thing it can never be passed off as is a friendly one.
P.O.B.

Agree3 Disagree0

Come on P.O.B. Its not as if Lennon has phoned the papers and said "wait to you hear what I think." Its just another example of poor journolism where a member of the media probably out in Germany has asked a question. Lennon has given his opinion. He is entitled to do it. There has been plenty of occasions when members of the Rangers staff have done similair in relation to Celtic. I really cant understand why you let this get to you? As for Celtic or its affiliates trying to destroy Rangers. Its already happened. Rangers are being liquadated. I prescribe two valium and a lie down in a darkened room for you. Otherwise have fun with your conspiracy theories and paranioa. Cheers Pedro

Wont it be good when this whole carry on is resolved. i dont think there is one Newco fan who can put his hand on heart and admit how poor games are going to be for the forseeable future all you get out of Newco fans is defiance. That defiance is tearing yous apart but you all want to go on as if its good to be in the third division. that maybe so for the real football fans amongst the glory hunters who whole heartedly just want to be in the third as they think it will punish other teams. Newco heirachy have done not a thing wrong they showed balls that no-one associated with RANGERS could do. There are aolt of RANGERS people who say we have been punished enough but it what way and how have they been punished. As Rangers so far have only been dealt the rules of administration and liquidation. I think that the whole of Scottish is just bear baiting as Rangers havent been proven guilty of anything as yet. If it comes back that Rangers have done nothing illegal there are going to be alot of people with egg on there faces.Im not a Rangers fan and stopped going to Celtic games years ago. i took up family oriented sport as goig to motocycle racing where theres none of the carry on that goes with football especially the old firm. so i hope yous and them can all move on inlife what will be will be we all live work and play together so come on both sides its nice to be nice get it sorted guys

Believable5 Unbelievable6

Na ...us rangers fans are just happy that there is still a Rangers to support and play football ... anything else is a bonus ..... away you go look forward to the "sexy" football the SPL brings ... lol u do realise that every team in the SPL pretty much looks to defend and scrape a result against the old firm ..... div 3 will be much the same the SPL 11 teams trying to scrape points of us just like in the SPL.

on another side point the name Newco came up god knows how many times in ur post ... we all can see ur trying ur wee hardest to distance newco and gers from each other .... however ur hatred for your blue brothers remains the same and u have replaced your hatred for gers with "neco" so much for them being an entirely seperate entity eh ?!

Agree7 Disagree5

@1: please quote the hatred in the OP for us all...

Seems like you're another Rangers/Newco fan who sees hatred at every turn when there's none whatsoever. Get a grip and stop reading every slight criticism or post that you disagree with as being full of hatred.

Agree6 Disagree3

@2. And your another nameless Gers hater. There seems to be more Bear baiters than Celtic season ticket holders at the mo. (no pun intended) Its about time Celtic fans went away, we arent even rivals anymore... CheltBlue

Agree3 Disagree1

The hatred is obvious through your obsession for all things rangers you lot thrive on our downfall it somehow makes your life seem that wee bit better. You certainly aint on here because you are worried about our downfall you are on here to gloat and tell us we should be punished and kicked at every opportunity until we are no more and then you might leave us alone. So you dont have to say the word hate because everytime you visit this page it is to show your hatred towards a club that you tell us no longer exists.

hi ed,

Isn't it about time the supporters turned their attentions to football rather than ebt's, tax dodgers and such....only a few weeks left b4 kick off and the support need 2 get behind mccoist and co. {Ed052's Note - I know mate the EBT Argument will be stopping as of now as its been going on all this week. once this licence has been sorted it should be better mate

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Ed 52 - you have the power, lets cut all posts with the words ebt, newco, history, stripped titles, cheats, etc and get back to football when we kick off again and while i am at it if others cant bring themselves to refer to r-a-n-g-e-r-s (proper spelling of our name) they dont deserve to have their views posted on here,
i am not offended easily but dont see why i need to continually accept being refered to as scumgers or rankers or worse which we see on here regularly

Why have Rangers been found guilty until proven innocent ? They have not been found guilty of dual-contracts, they have not cheated or broken any rules that have been found as of yet. All this talk of strip their titles, how about we get a fair trial first ?

Is that too much too ask from these rotten officials ? Or have they made their mind up already ?

Believable9 Unbelievable3

Trial by newspapers and others until SFA, SPL give in to the propoganda

JG

Agree3 Disagree0

If only we never got a fair trial by the spl and sfl if a jury member came out before the verdict was given in a court off law the case would be thrown out but in the crazy world of Scottish football they all came out one at a time thus influencing the others wrong in so many ways

Agree1 Disagree0

If rangers have not been found guilty of d/contracts why was green prepared to accept the punishment to gain entry into div 1 {Ed039's Note - He would have had to accept punishment IF rangers had been found guilty, although it looks only a formality now)

You haven't been found guilty yet, therefore the titles haven't been stripped yet, when you are found guilty they will be, if you aren't found guilty they wont. Okay have you all understood that? It is currently talk and speculation albeit it was mentioned in the draft to allow Rangers into division 1. You would imagine they have found Rangers guilty already given that. Now it seems the only thing remaining is negotiation with Rangers regards license to accept any punishment handed down and perhaps reallocation of the trophies and titles.

Agree0 Disagree0

#3 there can be no found guilty untill the evidence has been examined. The SPL says they have proof, well lets see it and have a chance to defend ourselves.

Enough of the SFA/SPL givin it the 'it's our ball and you can't play' mentality. I really don't think there is any confidence in their ability to be judge of anything just now.

People in glass houses, and all that.
Mr Lennon should have a look below before spouting all the s**t,

BBC Scotland Investigates wrote to all of the Scottish Premier League’s member clubs and asked whether they had ever operated an EBT scheme.

Celtic confirmed that it established one EBT scheme in April 2005, which BBC Scotland understands was for the benefit of the Brazilian midfielder Juninho Paulista. The scheme was worth £765,000 but the club did not declare the trust payment to the Scottish Football Association or the Scottish Premier League.

The payments made to the trust were declared in Celtic’s annual report for 2004/2005, but in 2008 the club became aware of an event giving rise to a potential tax liability which was subsequently paid after agreement with HMRC.
But that still doesn't change the fact that they were signing outwith there means and CHEATING the game (no sporting integrity) Hmmm.....

Agree13 Disagree5

@ 2) Typical response, newspaper with a bad headline - bin it. If they say it will rain in your locale tomorrow will you wear shorts out of spite? No wonder Craig Whyte and Murray found it so easy to do this, butter you up, create a siege mentality regards the press and get away with ripping you off left, right and centre. When the names come ouT over who benefited from this will be a shock to all level headed fans, and again the mighty rangers will make Scotland proud of there underhand tactics

I submitted a post at 1am but it was not accepted. Giovanni Di Stefano is claiming via twitter that Blue Pitch Holdings are clients of BDO who buy investment opportunities to sell on for profit. They are in effect short term profiteers.
BDO are of course the liquidators of the Oldco!

Whatever people think of Di Stefano he is persistent. What next?

Believable3 Unbelievable0

It would not surprise me if this is true, similar scandals have been going on for years. (Check out Barcleys debt recovery). This sort of legalized theft is very common. Very difficult to prove and will make no differance to "Rangers " and if the sale is voided this would only make things worse.

But Di Stefano is a nut job that you sould not want any where near your club.

Agree1 Disagree0

BDO were rumoured in here and elsewhere to be liquidators of Rangers long before HMRC decided not to accept CVA.
'blue pitch' sounds terribly rangers friendly! Too appropriate! Getting it? Totally set up to exploit the rangers situation only. 10% of the fixed assets for a mere £1m.

Agree2 Disagree0

Why haven't our good Scottish journalists thoroughly investigated every released member of Green's consortium? Who are the directors of blue pitch holdings? How long has it been registered? Months? How much of the rangers assets does it own? 10%? How much did they pay?
It it registered at companies house edinburgh or elsewhere?
Why is there two sevcos, one registered in England and owning the assets and one registered in Scotland running the team and holding the risks? Bet the investors all have 10% of the English sevco. Is this illegal unde SFA rules?

Agree2 Disagree0

Scottish football journalism is so pathetic that Keith Cut n' Paste Jackson won the prize as best of the year - the man who gave us the 'Craig Whyte Wealth off the Radar' guff.

What a joke the lot of them are!

I have a sneaky suspicion that all Charles Green is doing is being seen to make the "right moves" whilst in the spotlight, with his dialogue to the SFA, to UEFA etc.

It's all PR.

I wouldn't be surprised if in the end, our new club is wound up and has the same fate as our previous club.

There's no way as a 3rd division club we could repay £3m to all the clubs the old rangers owed and that whilst trying to meet the operating costs of Ibrox and Murray Park and attracting a calibre of player that will garauntee us successive promotion.

There's no way this is going to get off the ground.
Rangers as we know them were consigned to a hospital bed on 14 / 02, on a life support if you like and then on the 12 / 06 that life support was turned off.
A CVA was the only way of keeping the old club, it's players, it's membership in the SPL, membership with the SFA and everything we ever associated with Rangers.

All the Charles Green is trying to do bears is to get us to buy into the "brand" of Rangers, that of a team in blue playing at Ibrox.

There's no way that we can be sustained in the SFL.

I wouldn't be surprised if we don't kick a ball. Ever.

Believable9 Unbelievable1

If we never kick a ball he will not beable to sell any idea on to us. At the end of the day it will end where it ends.I will hold out hope to the end as there is now no other team in scotland i would support

Agree4 Disagree3

OP - Is that not why he is asking for arrangement to be made to allow us to pay back the footballing debts gradually
Also the reserves and under 21 players who have been on our books for the last few years should be good enough to win Div 3, if not our academy and coaches must surely have alot to answer for
If the fans are prepared to pay for season tickets or turn out in large numbers for home games we have a chance as our expenses will be drastically reduced remember the 25k a week players have all gone

Celtic fans who laugh at us now, beware. Watch as this case unfolds, how Mr Desmond, who has funded your club for years, used the twin contract EBT deals for Keane, Juninho etc.
Your day is coming Bhoys :-)

Believable16 Unbelievable16

Twin contracts maybe, but EBT's were paid off when Lawell took charge due to his Bank of England / HMRC connections advising him of problems to come, as were Arsenal at the time. Both clubs paid the HMRC off, but other clubs were not as well warned.
On the EBT side, Celtic advised agents to set up their own arrangements for their players so it would not taint the club. While Hearts loaned their players from Kaunus paying them a fraction of their salary out of the UK to avoid tax.
It may all be doggy, but it is on the right side of an ever moving grey line.
On the twin contract side it is highly lightly that Keane, et al were on dual contracts but how you can prove that as they are not in adminstration?

Agree4 Disagree6

@1 remeber the SFA. SPL dont need proof to bring a disrepute charge

JG

Agree3 Disagree1

Celtic , along with every club in the SPL in the wake of the Rangers sag, have had to submitt full disclosure since the SPL inception for all transactions and contracts involving players. If they have done wrong they will be found out

Instead of just recycling redundant gossip try helping your own club.No wonder these shysters were able to waltz in and ruin your club so easily. The RST etc have got to be the most uninformed supporters on the planet.

@1 are you for real ,rangers were not in administration when all this ebt stuff kicked off thats what put us in administration ,the fear of a 50 mill tax bill

Agree1 Disagree2

We can all goto div3 together. It's a tipsy turfy world alright. Joe

Agree0 Disagree0

@5: I thought it was the inability to pay PAYE and NI, along with the increasing difficulty of running the club financially, rather than the fear of a bill - one that might not have come.

Agree0 Disagree0

@5 NO what put you into administration is a £25million trading loss last year. In years past Murray was able to smoke and mirror the losses but Whyte was unable to do that.

Agree1 Disagree1

(6) no it wasn't the EBT'S which put u's into administration, it was failure to pay tax n paye after taking it from the players! EBT'S is a whole new ball game mate!

Agree2 Disagree0

It doesn't matter if you paid it off. Wow do Celtic fans not get it, the problem is the use of EBTs, not whether HMRC are annoyed at you. Strip Celtic of trophies!

I was annoyed when McCoist came out and asked for the names, I personally thought if thats what they want let them. I understand players and managers being upset, about what murray done in his time in charge, but I think Neil Lennon should keep quiet about his belief in what happened, wanting them strip of title ok, but dont say it out loud in the media. He is in a position where anything he says is taken in by millions of fans from both sides . My father always taught me run silent run deep and i think someone needs to tap him on the shoulder and maybe tel him that.

I know the blame for all this lies at the feet of one or two men only - so I'm not having a go at Rangers as a whole. But what a mess.

If the argument about taking away trophies, titles and league positions achieved unfairly is carried through, then my club, Hearts, is probably one of the biggest victims of this period.

Are we now in a position to sue for loss of earnings given we've finished 3rd more times than not? And been knocked out of semi-finals and beat in finals by Rangers?

I know it's hard to see past the emotion and there's probably a siege mentality with Rangers now, but if this was reversed I'm sure all these questions would be getting asked by Rangers fans.

But at the same time, where would Hearts take this money from and who would we sue? The SPL? Oldco? Newco? The SFA?

And to be fair, even a Rangers without the EBT dual payment scheme would have probably finished above us. But you can't really say that. It is like getting beat by an athlete on drugs, no matter how good the athlete.

No point in looking backwards I suppose, but this period with Rangers has really meant the whole Scottish game over that period was a 'bogey'. A real shame as I don't really go to games that much now, but back then I went all the time, and it was really demoralising to watch guys like Alan McManus try to compete with Brian Laudrup and Paul Gascoigne. (If you're going to post to tell me those guys weren't in the EBT scheme, well, the principle is the same with whoever was.)

Shame the fans of Rangers are going to suffer through this too I should add. But my loyalties are to Hearts, and I don't see much in terms of redressing our potential past lost earnings coming out of this.

Believable5 Unbelievable3

Can Darren Fletcher sue Cesc Fabregas and Roberto Rosetti for getting sent off for a foul that never happened in the 2009 semi's and been cheated out of a final? Dont think so.
Don

Agree5 Disagree2

Agree0 Disagree2

"my club, Hearts, is probably one of the biggest victims of this period."
Your club Hearts have been paying their players offshore for years now (when they actually pay them of course) to avoid tax, so your not exactly squeaky clean yourselves.

Agree0 Disagree0

@3: but not a patch on what Rangers were supposedly doing.

Agree1 Disagree0

Go on then - since I put the original post up and you've come back with your 1-3 observations.

1 - Not sure what you're going on about with Darren Fletcher. But referee mistakes don't rank alongside illegitimate and illegal practices. So if you want an analogy - look at Marseille and Italian bribery where teams were demoted and stripped of titles. It's more like that to me than bad referee decisions i.e improper practices to win games.

2) As I said - whether Gazza and Laudrup or whatever players - the principle is the same. Players inappropriately paid for that we couldn't compete with through honest means.

3) As regards 'squeaky clean' challenge. HMRC or anybody is welcome to investigate Hearts no matter what headlines the west coast media have printed about us. It's all legal. So more tax avoidance as per Jimmy Carr than anything illegal. Otherwise we'd be in the position of Rangers - and we're not.

I tried to be symphathic to Rangers fans - but responses like this don't encourage it.
