Fellow Bears,

I recently complained to BBC Scotland TV / News / Sports regarding their bias towards Rangers and their inability to present day to day reports on news concerning the football side of Rangers and only report on the negative side. The editor replied that this was not the case and went to state various types of broadcasting but did not show what they had actually done.

eg. BBC Scotland News last night did not report that QOS v Rangers was on despite it being the only game in Scotland.

They instead showed celtic at Glasgow Airport.

See reply below >

Your comments were passed to the Editor, who has asked that I forward his response as follows:

"Thank you for getting in touch with us about how we cover Rangers. I'm sorry but I must disagree with your assertion that we ignore the various issues relating to the Club. We absolutely do not and provide an extensive service across radio, television and online on the topics you raise - the day to day events.

Can I also take the opportunity to state categorically that we have no agenda in any of our reporting - on any issue".

Op. For god sake get a bloody life, it was and always will be a micky mouse cup, with little interest to anyone.

I get BBC world services over here, and your lot get mentioned on a regular basis with updates on the sports programmes when ever you are involved in games of interest, the problem at the moment is the standard of games your club is involved in, are of no interest to the vast majority of viewers or listeners.

Tim Goa,

Agree0 Disagree0

99. 99% of British people are not interested in rangers games or have previously heard of Ramsdens cup.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ever heard of 'newsworthy'?

Agree0 Disagree0

@ 1 this is bbc news in Glasgow we were watching and in the sport one team are at the airport going off to play a game, fair enough this is of interest to one set of fans, but Rangers were actually playing a match that night in an almost if not sellout game which IS of interest to a great many fans why was it not even mentioned? It was sport.

OP I take it you mean bias "against" rangers. Love the freudian slip though.

Agree0 Disagree0

2. Well every rangers fan cares about our club and every celtic fan on here who posts on the rangers page cares enough or they wouldn't be reading this. a lot more than 0. 1%

#4. I will say it again. Micky mouse cup. not newsworthy. not televised live. why. not of any interested to anyone. a cup comp for minor league teams who do not have the skills or ability to qualify for european football. not even sure why you are so keen on winning it. Oh forgot you have already been eliminated from one major cup. so this is clearly the only trophy you will have a chance to win that's based on knockout games. you will next be asking for coverage for all Glasgow Cup matches.

Oh how low your ambitions have become.

Only a wee bit of banter.

Tim Goa.

@1 it's got nothing to do with the standard of games we play in rangers are still the biggest club in Scotland it's narrow minded people who work for the bbc who try and get digs about us being a new club the bbc have went after rangers since whyte came in making programmes about us but yet when it comes to reporting on a football game involving rangers they're not interested they only like the stuff it shows us in a bad light last season they wer quick to report on the games we lost

Celtic fans are a pickled bunch 1st of all they used to slaughter Walter smith for playing a defensive team last night they had 6 defenders on the pitch against a side who had 9 players missing, according to some of them a 2-0 defeat is now a good performance, am I missing something? They are starting to sound like the tartan army, let's cheer a defeat.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Mate. None of us actually care about them. Leave them to their deluded beliefs.

Agree0 Disagree0

Really? Back 4 defenders, mathews right mid, he done more attacking than defending. brown and mulgrew taking turns to hold in centre. sami left. commons floating and stokes upfront. good performance, bad result. Stats show the didn't sit and defend. maybe the rangers will perform at that stage instead of mid week games in the ramsden cup

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeh, we don't care about them. i'd sooner watch, and listen, to the fabulous Miley Cyrus than that shower. I came in like a wrecking ball. ooohhh oohhhhhhhhhhhh

Agree0 Disagree0

Nameless Op i'd rather be beaten 2. 0 in the san siro than winning the ramsdens cup, means bringing the money home, what would you rather the scottish borders or milan? Honestly

Agree0 Disagree0

@1 I actually do care because the same set of fans praising Lennon was the sane set of fans that slaughtered Walter, saying it was negative football, also these same sets of fans always said the tartan army were losers for being happy at a defeat now they are happy at a defeat.

Agree0 Disagree0

@2 whatever way you want to look at it Mathews and mulgrew are defenders, I actually remember an old firm game u lot slaughtered us for having Hutton and whittker on the right side of midfield.

Agree0 Disagree0

@6. A football person knows there's a difference between a right back playing right mid but sitting infront of right back to protect him is defending the game and keeping it tight. u can be a right back getting asked to play right mid and attack which happened. All because forrest is out injured not got great cover in that position. Infact is that u ally mcoist. that's the problem he has. no football brain for management! And its spreading to the rangers fans

Agree0 Disagree0

@5: I don't know any Celtic fans who are happy at losing last night.

They might have played defenders but the style of play was no way as defensive as Walter's. What does it matter - if it works for a team, then so be it.

Agree0 Disagree0

@7 so you trying to say Hutton and whittker never got forward? You must be a professional manager then? What is a football brain btw?

Agree0 Disagree0

How funny was Brown's attempt at the psycho routine in the tunnel before the match!

Thot sellik played not too badly last night, admittedly Ac are a shadow of their former selfs but it was a bit of bad luck which did for them at the end, my point is I think we should stop harping on about their failings and concentrate on watching the snakes behind the scenes at our own place, there are still very worrying times ahead, Mr king has been very quiet and the mcColl cartel don't seem to be moving very far either, So what exactly is going on?, we need to keep on top of these people because the fact that Walter Smith walked away was enought to send shivers down my spine, something major could be right around the corner, and sadly sum of us just want to slag celtic aff? WE are in dire straits still lads, we need to be focussed and together, were is George recently? that guy seemed to understand the situation, let's not let petty rivalry lead us astray from our troubles, no more nonsense about how Clyde or cally murdered sellik, we ain't exactly great ourselves, but we do have a great club, great fans and a fantastic history (outwith the recent past) so we need to organise and act, firstly let the board know all our feelings not just a banner made from an old blanket, also we should let Ally know our feelings too, and I include Blacks position in that, He does certainly have some strange ideas on positions and tactics etc, I don't think we could deal with sellik with Allys decision making, So George it would be nice if you could let us know what your next plan is so we can help, before we run out of time

Believable0 Unbelievable0

@tommyblue if you go onto the sons of struth page you will find out what george and others are doing, there is a meeting on friday night 20thsept at the swallow hotel on paisley road if you would like to attend. there hopefully you and others might find some answers.

Agree0 Disagree0

Does lennon not realise milan had 9 players missing for all the money celtic have spent they still havnt got it when you look at bastle beating chelsea that what they should be doing

Agree0 Disagree0

@2 what money have Celtic spent?

Agree0 Disagree0

@3 10 million

Agree0 Disagree0

Celtic brung in nearly 40m this year and spent 6m, wish we had their problems!

Agree0 Disagree0

Nothing much will happen until the AGM which is at the end of October. Then, McColl et al will make their move to oust the useless incumbents and hopefully bring better days. After that, King will also make his move. Patience fellow Bears!

Agree0 Disagree0

@2: Milan's reserves would still beat any team in Scotland and many in the bottom half of the EPL.

Agree0 Disagree0

@3 So less than Milan played for Matri

Agree0 Disagree0

@8 didn't mention ac Milan, you asked how much money celtic had spent and I told you

op here obviously sum folk didn't get the post at all, eh? same old sellik and how they're s****, well we, re s***ier chaps, now get a grip and stop the sellik baiting, we will lose that war for the forseeable future, time to do something before we don't have anything to do, every reply that slags sellik off is an invite to savage our club, don't you get that?
we have far more pressing worries to contend with, tommyblue
