Heard the takeover won't take place until july because of hmrc taking us to court and Whyte doesn't want to pay the fine so he's hanging back a little till Murray pays the bill for whats gone wrong unless we win and Whyte buys earlier. Also heard that in summer bougie and mcgregor r away to arsenal for £12m

Face facts mate, it's not just the Ed who dislikes Diouf, the fans of every team he has been at apart from maybe bolton dislike him, team mates over the years have also expressed disdain towards him. And his behaviour towards Jamie Mackie even left his team mates "disgusted" with him. And just because he has signed for us I can't bring myself to change my mind. This guy will be on the front pages more than back.

Motherwell Minor,
Get your homework done you sad wee *********, honestly they're getting younger, whoever wrote this rubbish out for you, be it your cousin, uncle, brother, father and allowed you to post this, needs their a**e well and truly kicked!

Take the lad signing for what it is-if it works out then great 3 in a row here we come, if it doesn't work out he won't be any worse than Beattie or webster.

Nothing wrong with showing confidence in your signings! Diouf WILL be worse than Beattie, Erik Bo Peep, Prodan and Rosenthal rolled into one. For once Sir Walter has really let us down with this one. Have any other Bears thought that with Dioufs experience why no other EPL or Championship side were linked with him. The whole signing reeks of desperation and I think it was a case of Healey or Diouf but both agreed terms. I hope Healey does us a turn but I honestly hope I never see Diouf in the famous blue. So who would you guys go with up front on Sunday? I say Jela and Healey.

James Beattie has came out and said that his time at Rangers was the worst of his career. He went on to say he had never experienced a club so badly run and with such a deluded squad of players. He also stated that several senior Rangers players had vented their frustrations at the lack of investment and tempers have boiled over a few times regarding Laffertys attitude. Players have also been seeking assurances that all wages and bonuses can be met, as the takeover is stalling on the outcome of the HMRC case and the feeling is Whyte will walk away. Every purchase from players to ink cartridges has to be run past a guy from the bank who is on the board Expect this to be in either the sun tomorrow or a follow up story in sundays notw after the story they ran on sunday there.

Motherwell Miner (Motherwell supporter)

P.S. I know am going to get tortured over this but my cousin is a freelance journalist, if it isn't true I'll slap him

I really doubt he's said this seeing as he is still our player!
And as for the finance comments, stop talking sh**e!

Another deluded Tim. Absolutely clueless. Did you type this out while bunking out of Maths. Get a life.

In 6 months time we will all be preparing for season 2011/ 2012. Celtic will be playing CL qualifiers after signing more quality players in the summer window to strengthen their treble winning squad. Walter Smith will have left Ibrox with his reputation in tatters after winning nothing in his final season and his part, along with David Murray of dragging down a once great club. Rangers will still be owned by Murray/ Lloyds TSB and will still be scraping the barrel for signings and begging for loans from clubs desperate to get rid of their own mistakes. Alan McGregor will be playing for a mid table team in the EPL along with Jamie Ness, Steven Davis and Bougherra. Kyle Laugherty will be sold to a Championship side for £1.5 million. Rangers will try to sign any player who is out of contract and fail miserably because they can't match the wages of Englands League 1 teams. Ally McCoist will come out and say that even with the financial constraints on the club he feels that his squad is strong enough to challenge for honours and he will try to compare Davie Weir to Paulo Maldini in order to justify his new contract. Craig Whyte will buy Motherwell (the team he supports and has all his life) because he was unwilling to buy Rangers and cover the reported £190 million debt after HMRC charges David Murray with tax evasion. David Murray will once again try a share issue, but will scrap the plan after remembering that NO Rangers fans were willing to buy them the last time, and he had to bail the club out once again from his own pocket. Harry Redknap will be heavily linked with the England job with the Scottish media saying WS is in line to succeed him at Spurs as Daniel Levy was a great admirer of the Everton team WS built during his much heralded tenure there. Ally McCoist will last only a handful of matches and will resign after the fans calls for him to do so. He will be replaced by Terry Butcher, who will then attempt to buy ICTs "star" players to try to bring some quality to the squad, these players will knock back Rangers as they are unwilling to take a drop in wages. Doug Ellis will team up with Derek Trotter and Mr Aubrey Boyce to launch yet ANOTHER takeover bid, but once again nothing will come of it as Mr Trotter has already had one bad experience with the taxman and doesn't want involved with HMRC again. Rangers are served with a winding up order forcing them into administration and a 20-25 points deduction, leading ultimately to relegation after a failed attept at league reconstruction to save themselves. FACT!

Just to see them wail and gnash their teeth in such a pathetic manner is worth it.
I've not seen him in person, but I imagine the goats feet, horns and fiery spittle spewing from his demon maw can't make him a pretty sight. . . . or maybe he's the class act that will help the champions throw Lenny and his team of 4th rate mercenaries down to third - just where they belong.

Love the signing of the El Haj, rangers legend. Don't know why people are up in arms, just because he spat on a Celtic fan. We all make mistakes, spitting on that manky bam wasn't one of them tho. monthegers

Is this what passes for banter? Get a grip you sad individual.

01 Feb 2011 15:35:04
Yep Diouff was fined £5000, but Celtic were also fined £2600 by UEFA, but the Celtic fans seem to forget their own filthy spitting merchants, Viduka and Lennon, convenient amnesia from the bhoys again

As a Celtic fan mate, my own personal opinion is that anyone spitting at someone is disgusting, no matter what team he plays for. It's just not the spitting incident with Diouf it is his behaviour/ attitude in general. Only the other week he gave another player disgusting verbal abuse while he was lying with a broken leg! Even his own team mates were disgusted by his behaviour, this guy is a nasty piece of work and it will take WS all his man management skills to try to keep him in line. I would also be worried about him out in the city. Could he walk away from taking abuse in the street? (not that I am condoning that but we all know it goes on).

"I'm lying on the floor with a bad injury and even his team-mates were embarrassed by what Diouf was saying. It's hard for me even to repeat what he said. He called me a disgrace but that wasn't the worst of it.
"He said 'f*** you and f*** your leg'.
"There are some great lads in football and there are some who aren't. He's in the ones who aren't.

And wasn't the guy with the broken leg a Scotland player, or at least in the squad. Has this Diouf character got no shame. Troubles ahead at Ibrox with this guy Bears, I honestly can't defend signing him and the Ed was spot on regarding him. His attitude is worse than the 3 Amigos put together! I fully expect him to be a bench warmer and leave in the summer if not before. Smith doesn't usually make mistakes but I think everything got a bit desperate yesterday. Good to see Healy realise his dream, but it's a bit like Keane across the city, come up here when no one else wants him.

01 Feb 2011 15:12:32

Ed I can honestly say I have never seen you feel so strongly against 1 player. This worries me as a Rangers fan. You obviously know your soccer and watched this guy week in week out with the pool and he left a bitter taste in your mouth(he would just spit it out. lol) Walter has a habit of getting the best out of nutcases. Lets judge in a months time. Billyboy - not sure about this El Hadj Duff

01 Feb 2011 15:12:08

Ed - Firstly let me congratulate you and your team on the great job you guys did on the run up to the transfer deadline and generally a cracking site.

On the subject of Diouf signing for Rangers I am one bluenose that shares your belief. However, in Walter Smith I believe we have a manager who has got the best out of stars with a poor reputation, most notably Gazza who at the time of signing was in a state of disarray. I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt for I am sure he has had a word in Dioufs' ear with reference to his conduct whilst wearing the light blue. I support my club no matter who they sign for I trust my manager, I appreciate where you are coming from, but I hope for once you are proven wrong! !

Once again cracking work! {ed's note - that is a very good point he did marvellous work with Gazza, I remember the difference with him under Bryan Robson, he was half the player.}

Why are people having a go at the editor? all he did was give us an opinion on diouf. He has every right to say that he is a waste - the editor supports liverpool who diouf played for and was also crap for. think the editor has every right to say that diouf is crap just like we have every right to say that beattie is. It does'nt make him a celtic fan and in all honesty who cares if he was-being a celtic fan doesn't make you any less objective {ed's note - I am surprised Beattie didn't do better, he is an excellent player if handled correctly, he just needs building up a lot as he is very much a confidence player. Unfortunately a lot of his friends constantly try to bring him down, when he signed for Everton my mate, who Beattie was best man for, texted him to say he wasn't good enough to play for them. It is no wonder he struggled really with mates like that.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

01 Feb 2011 14:44:08

Ed do you not think Diouf will bring some much needed urgency to the rangers team. We need a player who can take people on Weiss does it but he isn't strong enough. Diouf can handle himself as well as being quite a skillful player I believe he will be a good piece of business even though I don't like him as a person when he pulls on teh blue jersey I wil back him. WATP. {ed's note - if Walter Smith handles him correctly he can be great, but he is extremely difficult.}

01 Feb 2011 14:28:56

{ed's note - I am sure Smith knows better than me, but I just fear he is recreating his Everton team at Rangers. They were truly awful to watch and just kicked their way through games. It was enough to avoid relegation in England, but is it enough to win titles?}

Please stick to what you know RUMOURS! Smith has won 9 titles, a euro final and enough league cups and scottish cups to be proud of and dragged the national team from it's lowest deeps. {ed's note - and your point is? Perhaps you missed where I said Smith knows better than me?}

01 Feb 2011 14:27:55

Ed u have 2 give guy a chance. people like u moan we can't sign anyone then u moan when we do. we don't have 2 please u or anyone else. i think u r a token tim print that.wrtp {ed's note - I really don't care if you sign anyone or not as such, I am a Liverpool fan, but I was asked my opinion on the player and I gave it. Typical of the sad bigotry that persists up there in Scotland that you immediately assume I favour the other side of the Old Firm just because you don't like what I have to say.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

01 Feb 2011 14:07:38
Walter Smith knows exactly what he was doing in signing diouf. I don't like him, he has a terrible track record, but he will add something to the rangers team. ed, you stated that he is strong, powerful and has technique etc, where else are rangers going to get someone who possesses all those qualities considering there financial position? we got him because of his reputation. Smith also likes players who are strong and that can bully other teams and he does fit that bill. Celtic play better football but they lack a real physical element to their side. Smith knows this and signed diouf to perhaps expose that whilst also adding some much needed pace to our team. He will either be an inspired signing by Smith or a complete waste but he was, in my opinion, bought for a specific purpose.

cheers {ed's note - I am sure Smith knows better than me, but I just fear he is recreating his Everton team at Rangers. They were truly awful to watch and just kicked their way through games. It was enough to avoid relegation in England, but is it enough to win titles?}

Watched Diouf live at Blackburn a couple of times and although he had a few good touches and runs down the wing he spent most of the game mouthing off at opposing players. Like ED sayd he hasnt had many good games. Lets hope Walter can get him focused on playing just like he got the best out of GAZZA

01 Feb 2011 12:41:36

He is a very good player if he cuts out some of the nonsense. Im not saying he is perfect but he has got a lot of talent and could turn out to be a great signing for us. Stuart McCall kicked players that never made hima bad player and Eric Cantona kicked fans but both very good players. . {ed's note - he was key for Allardyce because Allardyce is far more interested in his players kicking the opposition than kicking the ball. I seen him play many times for both Bolton and Blackburn under Fat Sam and he was lucky to ever finish a match. Never once did he challenge for an aerial ball fairly. Plays the man, not the ball.}

I know things are dire with us financialy at the club, but why walter, why, did you have to stoop low enough to sign a man who has has brought nothing but shame on every club he has played for. I genuinely feel the lowest and most degrading thing a person can do to any other person is to spit their fleighm on anyone, irrespective of their colour, creed, or race. THIS MAN DISGUSTS ME.

01 Feb 2011 11:04:19

Celtic fan here, posted once of twice before here.

I don't see the signings Rangers made being huge success stories because I do personally feel they were brought in to add depth with the three new boys I feel Rangers current starting 11 is stronger than the boys brought in, Diouf will be a great impact player and will certainly nab a goal or two and between Diouf and Healy they have a vast amount of experience, but Walter usually is a genius in the market so we'll need to wait and see. I thought he would have tweaked his magic and brought a proven poacher in to compliment Jelavic who just looks better, not with every game but every time he touches the ball. Surely a player Rangers won't hold on to long as the big clubs will come sniffing sooner or later, but the race sure is tasty now!

Re eds comments on el hadji diouf being quote
one of the least talented players he, d ever seen. eq
hes been around a while ed. epl . world cups etc etc
I would, nt want to judge you but your comments have to be a bit bi-assed are they not friend and we know this kind of thing happens in life everyday!especially on forums like this exactly so you must be a fan too and criticism where its due, I seem to pick up viruses from this site from time to time . .maybe a security upgrade would help! {ed's note - there are no viruses on this site, we once got hacked and we shut down the site and removed it. If you are getting viruses I suggest you avoid facebook games which are rife with them. My comments are based on what I have seen, Diouf had one superb game in the World Cup against France, never seen him play well since. He was dreadful for Liverpool, I don't just mean he didn't play as well as expected, I really mean dreadful. His first touch was poor, his passing was woeful, he was far too busy trying to niggle at the opposition and forgot to play. I am sure he has ability, but I doubt you will get to see it based on his play in the EPL. I am not talking about his spitting, but that does show what I mean to a degree, he just seems to forget that first and foremost the game is about putting a ball in the back of the net.}

01 Feb 2011 09:27:35

Diouf, A strange signing.

Bu all these 'Rangers Fans' who say we should distance ourselves from this signing, and the Celtic fans who call us Scum for signing him should maybe button it until after the old firm game, or the end of the season.
If Diouf scores on Sunday, are you gonna walk out the stadium or turn your telly off in disgust? Naw

And Celtic, If it was the other way about, and he had gobbed at a gers fan, and then signed for yous, you'd love it.

I have never liked the guy personally, I think he has commanded a couple of transfer fee, s that were unjustifyably high. Butif he performs for Rangers, and we win the league, then it will be a good bit of business.

As for Bartley, I haven''t seen him, Ed? have you?

Rikkisixx {ed's note - Bartley has real potential, a future England centre back with the right coaching. You will need to be patient with him though, he is still a youngster and can be a bit raw at times.}

01 Feb 2011 08:38:06

To the celtic supporters . .I see much criticism of el-hadj diouf Id only like to point out that double standards are in overdrive here. its not unheard of for celtic players to be accused of spitting -it crops up in match reports now and again and talking about fouling and bad conduct on the field and off you need look no further than your present manager and his assistant thompson
who were put there by the club!this must mean in celtic terms if you spit and are bad tempered then you are a winner? so that can only mean one thing you fear that the player el hadj diouf is a winner and that's the real problem for you.

01 Feb 2011 08:32:35

To the guy that says diouff is a disgrace. . mate you have a short memory do you not, considering some of the mistakes that some of our players and former players have mad in their lives. If that's your attitude, don't come to ibrox, your not welcome, he puts that top on and gives us everything and we'll support him, that's what we do. I reckon he'll do us a turn, and by god we he wind the mankie mob up. He has the ability, im sure ed would agree, ability wise? {ed's note - not at all. I never saw any evidence of ability while he was at Liverpool, I used to cringe every time the ball went his way. He was the biggest waste of money of all time, terrible player.}
most honest comments ive heard of this player, has done nothing in the game, he will do nothing for rangers, poor signing yet again. {ed's note - to be fair he might be brilliant for you, the player that destroyed France in the WC might appear. But I have never seen another decent performance from him since that game, he is far too intent on winding up the opposition to actually play. Maybe Walter Smith can sort his head out and you will get a star.}
