01 Jan 2019 20:00:47
Any thoughts on big oli Burke allegedly getting loan interest from the manky mob?
If he's available for loan is that not a possibility for us?

01 Jan 2019 21:01:03
Meant to have attitude problems and why do West Brom in the championship want rid? 🇬🇧.

01 Jan 2019 22:17:44
Oil mcburnie aye oil Burke no.

02 Jan 2019 14:28:42
Hope not he’s rotten let him go to them .

01 Jan 2019 17:54:08
Lads happy new year. Good times atm and it’s been down to hard work. Anyway the Pena situation. I just saw a post saying can’t we just rip up his contract due to his be behaviour. There is not one work place in Scotland that would do that. Think whoever posted that has been workin for cash in hand for too long. The man has a problem. If yer postie showed up pissed to work n the Royal Mail just sacked him due to his behaviour. You’d be goin. That’s shocking. At least try and help the guy. So why do you think rangers football club wouldn’t support him. Sometimes i wonder if some of the posts on here are written by children.

01 Jan 2019 18:16:09
Easy tiger that was me 😂🙈
I didn’t mean his boozing as the sackable offence.
I meant stuff where he was misbehaving in Mexico etc (I appreciate these incidents have been the result of drinking)
He has had help in Mexico and as his employer I’m sure we were involved with this on some way.

He’s had chances and he’s had help I just think given his behaviour we should get rid of him.

01 Jan 2019 18:32:15
It’s all down to man management. Bring him back and let him prove himself to SG if he isn’t up to it then let him rot or pimp him out on a free somewhere. In all fairness he did have a decent scoring ratio. 5 in 14?, feel free to correct me. No doubt someone will.

01 Jan 2019 18:52:20
Just to add to my last post
I would like nothing more than to be proved wrong and Pena take the SPL by storm but I just don’t see it
He’s had plenty chances and had help
I’m actually an employer and know the difficulties these situations can bring but there comes a point when someone has had help and has had enough chances as well

We have codes of conduct and he will certainly have been in breach of them a few times - I’m not sure how this would work when you are on loan with another football club though.

01 Jan 2019 19:11:26
Pena does not deserve to wear the mighty Rangers shirt again. He has disrespect our club with wiping his nose on our shorts. Does he actually think he can swan back into our team? My answer is no, he simply isn't good enough. I don't understand people who want to give him another chance, there are plenty of players/ young players at our club who respect Rangers and are fighting a gut to get in the starting 11.

01 Jan 2019 19:30:25
Amen goalie, a fat overweight waster who we paid big money for and pay a fortune in a wage. Couldn't even be arsed keeping a decent level of fitness. Wiped his nose on our crest and embarrassed himself and us with his anticsn at his loan clubs. Guy will never be good enough and to top it off has a stinking attitude.

01 Jan 2019 19:52:09
Just watched the Saturdays game again and our midfield 3 worked so hard gave every ounce as did the rest of the team and there was a bench desperate to get on and do the same not to mention guys who didn't make squad and still guys on here want pena who never even made a great attempt to get himself fit enough to play and treated our badge with contempt! He's had his chance get over it, send him home.

01 Jan 2019 19:56:03
Blue-- correct my man, unfortunately we have him for another 2 years (i think) and is on 20 grand a week. And the same goes for Hererra. i'm pretty sure those guys aren't in Gerrards plans.

01 Jan 2019 20:02:36
Cannot see any positive outcome from Pena episode. He must want a pay off and at the right figure we will oblige.

01 Jan 2019 21:24:44
Huistra - Not that I would ever want anyone sacked (even Pena) but we have sacked players for a lot less! Fran Sandaza.

I think it's unfair to tar both Pena and Harrera with the same brush. Harrera always tried his hardest, he simply wasn't good enough. But he is quite right to take his 20k per week (if that's what he gets) . Its whoever offered him that deal we should be pointing the finger at.

In terms of Pena. If we can't find a way to terminate his contract and no other clubs are interested then we have to give him every chance to play. It doesn't make any sense having someone on those wages sitting in the stands, even if he did blow his nose on the club crest. Loads of players including so called Legends did a lot worse during there time at Rangers!

01 Jan 2019 22:27:05
Huistra,

First bit of sense ever posted on this subject. If an employee admits that he/ she has an addiction problem, then the employer must offer support.

If that does not happen, then there could be a claim for unfair dismissal. If Pena admits to having an alcohol dependency, then we are stuck with him until such times as all avenues have been explored.

All this "rip up his contract" rubbish is coming from those who have no clue about employee contract law.

02 Jan 2019 00:32:04
You can’t get rid of someone because they have a problem with alcohol but you certainly can for their actions when they are under the influence of it.
That’s like saying you can come in each day and slap your boss and just blame it on having a drink problem as you will get away with it.

If we’re all being 100% honest our views on this change when it comes to a footballer
If Pena was playing like Gascoigne every week we wouldn’t really give much of a f*ck what he was up to - within reason of course

But the fact is Pena is rubbish and has been a complete waste of money and an embarrassment so most of us look on it differently

Just being honest.

02 Jan 2019 01:04:44
No going to admit to reading all the posts, but are you ripping it? Ppl get sacked all over the place for behaviour related stuff . I go in pissed or geared out my nut it's night night . This nugget gets shed loads of dosh and wipes his nose on our crest and I'm meant to wit? Come on back big man? no, what's wrong with you? You cannot be serious with that? Like folk saying you've got to have sympathy for that wee Griffiths. just not going to happen.

02 Jan 2019 09:09:17
People that are saying you cannot pay someone off if they have personal problems are only half right. Any employer are duty bound to offer support and full wage for 6 months (usually) then half wage for 6 months then its off to the doctors to assess fitness for duty. i'm no expert on employment law but surely no employer is expected to pay full wages indefinitely.

01 Jan 2019 15:22:09
Was just thinking about game against Tims again and what about Andy Hallidays corners from both sides? Absolutely amazing delivery every time🤭😬🇬🇧.

01 Jan 2019 15:39:42
Yes great delivery. But let's be honest. Pinging in a good corner is very easy. Like boys club stuff. I think everybody was just overly happy with his delivery. As Tav cannot beat 1st man on a corner.

01 Jan 2019 16:31:58
I usually leave the disagreeing to other folk but I'm sorry Paul, pinging in a good corner is not that easy otherwise anyone could do it. There is a fair amount of skill needed to deliver a good inswinging or outswinging ball with pace. You see it with Tav, he can do most things well with a ball but can't really deliver a good ball from a corner, Andy (it would seem) can on most occasions.

01 Jan 2019 18:51:12
Ok well let's agree to disagree. I played only juniors. But still expected to whip in a decent ball. Its really not hard mate. 9/ 10 u should beat 1st man. Free kicks are obv a diff matter getting it up and over wall. But to put decent corner in between 6 yarder and penalty spot should be almost every time.

01 Jan 2019 19:40:53
Am I correct in saying tav took the first corner we got on Saturday from the govan end and it was mince so halliday took over.

01 Jan 2019 19:58:12
Paul 86 I think a corner delivery is pretty easy but some players can do it better than others. is more pace and bend etc. tavernier seems to struggle though.

01 Jan 2019 20:08:04
Agree Halliday provided some excellent deliveries from corners, even forcing Broonie to head one against the bar. As a general point believe we have been guilty all season of failing to convert corners into goals. Would like to see our big CH’s starting to convert corners into goals.

01 Jan 2019 21:15:24
Tavs corners are in the air far to long making it a bit easier to defend. What a difference from Hallidays corners, much more pace and direction.

01 Jan 2019 21:28:36
Paul 86, if u played junior and u took corners then u should no it's not that easy. Yes, it's easy just to put it in the box and let it come soon with snow on it. but to ping it in with pace and a accuracy is very different.

01 Jan 2019 14:22:23
Broonie guilty over the last 3 years of much worse than Morelos committed on Saturday and has been put down to gamesmanship and competitive antics.

A highlight for me on Saturday was the "contested" drop ball. Straight from Broonie's book of football antics.

01 Jan 2019 15:25:35
Afield was fantastic doing his wee war dance, candeias was great shoving broon out of The way, followed by a little flick of The boot, made my day.

02 Jan 2019 14:25:51
Lads it was our stupid supporters putting pictures on Facebook started this SFA witch hunt.

01 Jan 2019 12:24:18
See Halliday has traded on his second hand BMW for a brand new Audi. Very nice Andy.

01 Jan 2019 19:10:53
Ok then 🙄.

01 Jan 2019 12:16:26
Ed01, thanks for your insightful comments on Liverpool and your opinion on potential transfer targets. I don't agree with everything you say but do value hearing your informed opinion. Happy New Year.

{Ed001's Note - you must be the only one who does mate, but thank you.}

01 Jan 2019 12:24:25
We do appreciate you really Ed honest 🤥.

01 Jan 2019 12:31:09
Agreed
Interesting comment on the plastic pitches Ed
Need to get them to f*ck.

{Ed001's Note - they are a problem, some teams are not keen on having youngsters play on them. There are still some who feel they cause long term joint damage. Though I think personally the modern pitches tend to be so hard that they can't be all that good for the joints either.}

01 Jan 2019 12:35:03
Happy new year Ed001. I agree Kent won't make it at Liverpool, hope we get him permanent. He has been very good for us, tends to lose the ball to often, but if you want players to go past defenders that will happen to an extent. He was just back from injury but lots of effort off the ball and an assist pretty decent.

{Ed001's Note - he just has too many players in front of him. He got close but then Wilson got himself back on track and he is another level.}

01 Jan 2019 13:28:52
I would have loved Wilson on loan
He seems to be doing well at Derby
I wonder if he will make the step up at Liverpool

Would happily take Kent permanently.

{Ed001's Note - I hope he does, it gives the next generation of youth players hope when one makes it.}

01 Jan 2019 11:51:57
Dorrans now approaching full fitness and available after winter break. Think he could have big part to play in second half of season. Great to see him on pitch celebrating with the team on Saturday.

01 Jan 2019 12:08:38
Great news just hope he stays fit
Could have done with him throughout December especially when Arfield was out.

01 Jan 2019 12:37:57
Yip and graham dorrans can play the attacking mid, no.10 role! Happy days and having doza back, will be like having a new signing, with jamie murphy to follow!

01 Jan 2019 17:46:52
A fully fit Dorrans and Murphy definitely strengthen our first team squad.

01 Jan 2019 19:14:11
Can’t wait until Dorrans is back. He’ll also give us the option to change to a diamond 4 in midfield again with Tav and Borna bombing up the wings. Diamond of Jack, Arfield, Davis and Dorrans would be top notch. Would be hard to leave out McRorie though. Just need to find someone who can play alongside Morelos.

02 Jan 2019 14:27:13
Dorrans was absolutely gash when he was in the team don’t seem to see the player everyone else does.

03 Jan 2019 09:53:10
For me Dorrans needs to get his fitness sorted out. I've heard from a club source Gerrard getting really annoyed with him and and Barisic injured all the time.

01 Jan 2019 11:18:53
Happy New Year to all bears and Ed's I hope you had a good one has anyone ever heard of a player getting looked at for 3 different incidents in one game anywhere in the world of football it's a first for me so what if they find him guilty on the 3 incidents do they give him 3 red cards? This is starting to get out of hand with these people they are blatantly victimised our players and our club and if you speak out and defend yourself we will hammer you as well surely Rangers have to take legal advice on this there were bad tackles going on all over the park but they pick three from one player? Who reports the incidents to the compliance officer hmmm I wonder.

01 Jan 2019 10:35:28
So what do u think we need in this transfer window?

01 Jan 2019 10:34:53
Really hope we get davis he's still got lots left in the tank!
