All this talk about youth not getting a chance is nonsense. Maybe there just not good enough! If a player is good enough he will get a chance just look at barrie mckay. I remember the critism when charlie telfer left and he hasn't set the world on fire.

02 May 2016 07:37:11
Gasparotto looked out most promising youth and he is leaving although warbs likes a few of the under 17s burt and ashmore.

02 May 2016 07:50:40
Whatever has become of the young winger from wolves Leacock-McLeod is he playing regularly for the U20s and if so does he look any good.

02 May 2016 09:42:09
Look this gaffer is more likely to play youth players than anyone else for at least 40 years if the guys are good enough then they will play I live the thinking that the gaffer sees them in training in u20's or u17's games but those who don't and have probably only heard their names know better. Everyone an expert.

02 May 2016 13:52:38
warburton has given youth a chance more than any ibrox gaffer for years (with the exception of smcoll that's all he had) but if the players are not good enough they are better being shown the door and getting more in that's the only way it works may sound harsh but that's the way it is.

01 May 2016 20:55:21
P. f. a. rangers got three awards, manager of the year, player of the championship lee wallace, and goal of the season barrie mckay against celtic yee ha.

02 May 2016 00:04:26
Plus they got an award for being the best supported team in scotland and another award for playing the best football in scotland phew when is this going to end, lol.

01 May 2016 20:12:15
Ok. League season over, 1 year later than expected but finally we will be in the top tier next season. Question is how do we all think we will perform next year?

01 May 2016 20:55:09
I honestly think we'll finish in the top 3 in our first season back in the big league, with a few good signings WITHOUT spending massive amounts of money we will do pretty good, warbs has an eye for a player, in warbs we trust!

02 May 2016 07:53:56
I still think we will challenge for the title as on our day we are better than most premier clubs, but defensive pairing plus keeper giving me cause for concern, hope warbs addresses that area of the park, as they don, t fill me with confidence, let, s hope they can get us through the cup final, then I think they will be squad players, Fods culpable both goals and Wilson and Kiernan against St Mirren dreadful.
my opinion.

02 May 2016 08:41:42
Could do with a keeper that's going to give Foderingham competition for his place plus a couple of centre backs also as Fod, Wilson, and Kiernan are certain to be in the starting eleven.
Players can become complacent if they know they are guaranteed to start every game.

02 May 2016 11:17:36
I've been trying to remain positive on the defence because of the lack of cover they have had from not having a proper CDM. It's getting harder to back them up though as its all individual mistakes they are making constantly. If anything this wee bad run we've been on could be a blessing, as surely the manager now knows he can't have Wes, Wilson and Kiernan as our main defenders next year. They have fell apart recently.
The lack of competition has made them too complacent and I just hope we can get it together for the final. Great to see Waggy back though.

01 May 2016 18:19:34
Just listened to Kenny Miller's after match press conference and the guy is an absolute magnificent ambassador for our club. Still fit as a cat and a real good footballer. A few more of Kenny's class and we will be flying.

01 May 2016 17:49:47
Steven Davis looks a class act against. MAn city. If he is looking to return to gers would be the man we need in the centre of park.

01 May 2016 18:15:47
Was just thinking that.

01 May 2016 19:12:18
Yes some player that's for certain.

01 May 2016 19:22:44
we can't afford Steven Davis, some fans might need to lower their expectations as to who we sign this summer, we won't spend mega on players, just for Davis alone it would be around 3-5 million, those days are long gone guys, but I agree with u Davis is a great midfielder and I would love him back at rangers but I would be shocked if happened in the near future.

01 May 2016 19:26:15
Won't happen.

01 May 2016 18:02:48
I'd have stevie davis back in a minute, a smashing midfielder with a terrific attitude both on and off the park, a class act and model pro!

01 May 2016 21:16:49
Let's wait and see - but if you want to aim high you have to bring the appropriate players a mixture of experienced players and youngsters.

01 May 2016 16:54:10
Who thinks we can get away with this team in final? I know it's been end of season stuff but there has been no interest from players since that game with that mob across the city.

01 May 2016 15:54:00
Think some people on here need to get a grip. I watched that other mob yesterday (only because d money on Hearts) and the game was awful. We have taken the foot off the gas since we clinched the league but what we get to watch is still much more enjoyable. Don't know about anyone else but I was terrified every time Jim Goodwin got near McKay at the end haha. It's only human nature to want to avoid injuries with the league won and a cup final coming up. There's no way the players don't have that in their minds as well. Cut the team some slack we have had a fantastic season and it might just get better.

01 May 2016 16:24:06
The goal keeper is poor and has been at fault for a lot of the goals. The defence is poor also and people coming on here and pointing it out isn't panic or don't need to get a grip.

01 May 2016 19:45:06
Wouldn't argue big Wes has dropped a bit but at 25 he's a baby for a keeper. He will improve I reckon. Can't argue with CB's think we need one to drop out for some experience. Thought Wallace was excellent again though and Taverniers defending seems to be getting better. If someone offered me this season at the end of last season I'd have bitten their hand off. It's going to take time just think a bit of perspective is needed.

02 May 2016 10:48:38
Agreed on goodwin going near McKay, I watched his interview after the match and he said it was typical of him to get booked, he said the ref opened his book and his number was already wrote down lol.

01 May 2016 15:12:15
I've tried to remain positive and on Wes' side but I'm sorry big man, you're just not good enough. That's twice today he was beaten at his near post. Being an ex goalie myself that was always the ones the coaches detested you losing. One every now and again could be overlooked but twice in one game, sorry but that's just unacceptable.

01 May 2016 15:15:13
Really poor keeper who keeps making mistakes. If we are to mount any sort of challenge next season we need better than him.

01 May 2016 14:59:37
If Warburton says" we will learn rom todays result" I think I'll scream. We are learning NOTHING from recent results and bleeding goals like a fatal gun shot!

01 May 2016 15:10:08
Agree, he has said that after every game we have drawn/ lost. looks like we don't learn anything.

01 May 2016 16:25:00
What the hell is the negativity all about, calm down the team will be biting at the leash when the final comes, they will be fresh and raring to go, you will see a Celtic type attitude can't wait .

01 May 2016 17:34:44
Some fans will never be happy, the league was won, were in the cup final, great season by the club, couldn't be more happier compared to last year, I think some fans have forgotten the state we were in this time last year, give the players a break guys.

01 May 2016 19:29:48
Delboy9

Are you happy with the defending and the keeper? Do you not think going forward we need a better keeper and defenders? Your right last season was a disaster and this season has been far better however we only conceded 5 less goals in the league this season compared to last season and people were rightly having a go at last seasons defenders.

02 May 2016 00:03:33
Biffo,
MW has got us promoted to SPL, final of SC and won the Petrofac all of what Ally failed to do so criticism of where we were and where we are now is over the top.
MW has also reduced average age of squad so for anyone to say we haven't progressed is nonsense.
P. S. Super Ally still a legend of a player.

01 May 2016 14:43:36
Stage 3 complete. We're now back were we belong. Bring on next season.

01 May 2016 15:16:19
lets see some new recruits first before we get too excited!

01 May 2016 15:24:25
Below par performances since we beat the east end mob but get a grip guys criticising our manager, we're in a very good place just now to where we were last season which is down to our terrific management team and their undoubted eye for a player, this happens regularly to better teams than ours who've already won they're league.

we'll beat the hibees on the 21st of may in the scottish cup final and therefore european football a year earlier than we all expected, have trust and faith. the magic hat is magnificent for what he's done in less than a year!

01 May 2016 14:38:43
Another disappointing draw - some consolations

1) Hibs have to play another two games against Raith Rovers in play offs

2) We can only be better in cup final let's hope we win and not just by penalties (cf semi final) this time!

3) The end for some squad players?

01 May 2016 14:53:45
Hopefully another keeper will be signed. Another 2 poor goals lost again today and he was lucky to get away when he tried to control a back pass. Cammy Bell was slaughtered last year for less mistakes.

01 May 2016 15:02:30
Any win will do me if it has to be pens I'll take that all day long if it gets us in Europe all day long 👍🏻.

01 May 2016 14:53:11
Hopefully a few regulars too.
Namely Wilson and Foderingham. Wallace has been stinkin as well but escapes any criticism.

As we prepare to say goodbye to the lower leagues I would just like to thank some people for the work they have done in getting us there, beginning with Dave King who despite what a handful of people on here think of him has been the driving force in rescuing our club from the evil of Ashley, Somers, LLambias and the Easdales. Also the 3 Bears who like King have put their money where their mouth is and helped build the exciting young team we are watching and will spend again this summer to help us challenge Celtic next season. Also Paul Murray and John Gilligan who aren't as wealthy as King and the 3 Bears but have worked tirelessly to help turn around the fortunes of the club they love.

And of course Warburton and Weir who i'm sure at least some of us had doubts about at the beginning of the season but have been nothing short of magnificent. And finally to Ally Mccoist, who should never have got the managers job in the first place but he did and in the beginning stuck by us when most would have walked. Yes he turned out to be worse than useless in the dugout and was also greedy sod but thee can be no doubt how much he loves the club. 3-0 tomorrow against St Mirren and a similar scoreline in Cup final would do me. Up the Rangers.

01 May 2016 07:54:59
Agree with all you say apart from the bit about McCoist for sticking by us. The club would have still survived had he jumped ship like the rest of the rats and there would have been plenty managers that would have taken the job with that kind of money on offer.

01 May 2016 12:00:27
I think 3-0 today also.

01 May 2016 13:38:43
3-0 to whoom.

01 May 2016 13:40:05
Half time 1-0 St Mirren ex Ger Gallagher on score sheet.

Nothing game - but let's cut the "chat" out from both players and management.

Talking has to be done on park - let them try and start talking in the second half!

01 May 2016 14:47:46
It is the end of the season and players will have one eye on the cup final. Generally this is a time to play bring players and young up and coming players, both of which will feature in the following season. At our club just now pretty much all our up and coming youngsters are out on loan so that they get much needed competitive game time and most of the fringe players will not be at the club next season.

Players like Shiels, Gallagher and Law add less than nothing to the team and although Clark gives 100% there is seldom an end product. Shiels lacks aggression, loses concentration and when he comes on we lose momentum.

We have done well to win this league by the margin that we have given the significant change of personnel last summer and it is testament to Warburton and Weir that the side has gelled as well as it has and so many of the new players brought in have played as well as they have since they arrived.
Warburton was thwarted in his attempts to sign a quality defensive midfield player and this has contributed to a number of the goals that we have lost and although it is worrying that we have lost so many goals lately I am sure that our management team see where the deficiencies are that need to be corrected. We just need to hope that the players are up for the Cup Final and we see another performance like we saw against Dundee and against Celtic.
