Poor result today but still feel we have more than enough to win this league. All we needed was a bit of luck here or there and we wouldve won that game today. So let's kick on again and get this league won as quick as we can and start building for next season.

01 Nov 2015 22:37:26
Guys, we are in danger of becoming delusional in what we have, Rangers are decent enough in the 2nd tier, but really, does anyone really think we could cope with hearts, Aberdeen, and God help us celtic? We are soft and I'm afraid WW may have underestimated Scottish football, I hate to say this but I spent the whole week thinking hibs would win, too many players shirked tackles, and we don't have a striker, we need real premiership players quickly. the boys have done well but its not top league, we wouldn't cope there.

02 Nov 2015 08:32:37
Tomtom12

That's the best post on this site for a while. I'm afraid some Rangers fans are that desperate for success they have went way over the top about this team. Your right we are very soft and we need to strengthen in every area of the park. If Rangers fans are totally honest we should expect to have had this kind of start in the 2nd tier of Scottish football given the gulf in resources we have over the other teams. Warburton has only done what any half decent manager would do in that league with those resources. We are miles behind most premiership teams and the way St Jonhstone picked us of so easily was embarrassing. A lot of work and players are still needed to be done if we are to get back up to the top league and challenge Celtic.

02 Nov 2015 08:54:26
Good posts tomtom and biffo but I think we need to be realistic. After the mess left by Ally and co, W&W have done brilliantly to be in this position. 11 wins from 12 league games is pretty good in my book. THe team is a work in progress and I'm sure Warburton is gradually going to weed out those who aren't up to the job - these include Miller and Clark in my opinion. We do need an out and out goalscorer and somebody a bit more commanding in defence. We're probably the equivalent of a SPL top six team right now and I'm not expecting us to win the SPL title first time of asking next season. I'd still like to see Hardie and Walsh given a run and I don't understand why Murdoch was farmed out on loan when he had such a great run last season. We'll win the league comfortably. I couldn't care less about the cups though a good run in the Scottish Cup wouldn't do any harm. The quality at the top of the SPL is nothing special. As for yesterday's game, we could have won on any other day. We can't expect to go through the season and win 36 games out of 36!

02 Nov 2015 17:17:43
MW and DW should be applauded for the job they have done. Hibs were the favourites for this league, they had a settled team and we were to take time to gel. We are what we are but no way could this team challenge for the premier league. Every team in the world needs a penalty box striker who can score 30 goals a season so we are no different. We are still the best team in this league.

02 Nov 2015 13:42:08
Doiger, they may not be up to much, but they are experienced, strong, physical and tough. that is what wins titles in this country.

02 Nov 2015 19:31:42
Drew, i disagree when you say hibs were favourite for the league, ask any bookie. Rangers were long odds on. we all want gers to win, but don't try to change fact. when were hibs ever favourites to finish above Rangers? Never in my lifetime.

01 Nov 2015 20:42:44
We dominated play today with Holt attacking with great promise only for it to fall fowl in the box. We need a predator in the box. We should be giving Hardie a chance as can't be worse than Clark.

Wilson looked off the pace and with Ball and Kiernan playing well together he should be benched. 3 new players required right down middle of team as Ball will be going back Spurs in summer.

01 Nov 2015 21:12:49
Clark gives 100% but having watched Hardie play for the u20s he has a good first touch and scores goals
MW rates Hardie as he has just signed a 2 year deal.

01 Nov 2015 15:21:10
Sorry to say because he works hard and seems a decent enough wee guy but today was Nicky Clarks last chance with me I'm afraid. Thought he might have kicked on after his goal against livi but not happening. Also think the big goalie is getting better had a couple of decent saves today and we deserved more out of the game. Good to see the players showing a bit of fight and standing up for themselves. 5 points clear and i would have taken that at the start of the season.

01 Nov 2015 19:58:51
Jay
I agree about Clark, unfortunately as he is a decent wee guy. He will never do for us. Aird is the same. I would have started with Law and Shiels as Zelalem has not been effective enough recently.
As for the game itself I thought we played well for the majority of the game and we're desperately unlucky not to be 3 or 4 one up at one point. That's just the way it goes sometimes. A wee rub of the green and it would have been a different outcome. You can't win them all but I think MW might just use the defeat in a positive way and fire up the lads for the rest of the season. Not worried in the slightest as there was plenty of fight as well as quality on show. Couldn't have said that last year!

01 Nov 2015 16:07:38
Lets not get too carried away here folks. The record had to be broken at somepoint. We are still top of the league and will still win it. I do agree with most about a new CF as we are defo lacking in that dept.

01 Nov 2015 15:58:24
great game of football as far as i'm concerned although as I've said numerous times.
WANTED URGENTLY.
six yard box man. waggy great attacking at pace but no good inside the box as we saw in the closing stages .
best I've seen the boys in blue play tis year but hibs are feisty . mcginn might be worth looking at for next year (great holding midfielder) . well still win the league by a mile. onwards and upwards. oh and law should have been brought on as he's a game changer. deecee.

01 Nov 2015 16:58:35
Deecee, you're bang on the money mate, john mcginn is a cracking wee player but so is jason holt who I thought was excellent today yet again, holt is a terrific midfield link man who is very good technically, tremendous wee player who reminds me so much of alex mcdonald in years gone by, showing my age here mate, although still only 48 years old!

01 Nov 2015 20:17:39
Iwould say McGinn will be Celtic bound when they want him. After all Hibernian and Dundee United let all their players go there. They both refuse to sell to Rangers. I wonder why?

01 Nov 2015 21:23:50
Jason holt is better than john mcginn so we don't need mcginn, holt will also score more goals than mcginn.

01 Nov 2015 22:47:51
Mcginn played like that because he was playing against Rangers. like so many St mirren players last week, it's easy for managers like Stubbs, just remind them of their loyaltys, even when they play for a different club. sad really, but its what we have to deal with. even players from Poland are allowed to disclose their hatred of our club, Stubbs has never hidden this.

01 Nov 2015 15:55:47
I feel that we need to strengthen our midfield, the way we play we are always creating chances strikers will score goals but we have no strength in midfield to many players want to dribble rather than tackle and no one to cover centre half a when arguably our 2 most attacking players in our full backs push up, we need a couple centre midfielders before we worry about strikers or defenders, games are won in the midfield, as you seen today hibs had players willing to tackle willing to foul to allow them to get back and defend as a unit and not get caught up the pitch.

01 Nov 2015 15:54:52
Doiger one of your big bets down the swanny already and how is your 10-0 bets coming along lol
looks like our charity bets will go the whole season also (Celtic lost 1 league game same as your club now)

01 Nov 2015 18:37:07
Charity begins at home my friend, in my case Ibrox.

01 Nov 2015 20:49:09
I see Timalloy's still obsessing over what he loves to refer to as Sevco or the Deady Bears. funny how an obsession can keep growing for a so-called 'new' club eh Timbo?

Whether 'your team' wins more than Rangers or not is a total irrelevance. ps, do you and your pals still have a dedicated site about us?

01 Nov 2015 22:54:56
BW, it is OK for some people to attack Rangers, but they scream when the boot is on the other foot. I can't imagine ever being on a celtic site, don't entertain these people. he is more than likely friend free and in a manky room somewhere, doing god knows what. this guy in particular seems to be bereft of a life.

01 Nov 2015 15:16:46
Does anyone have any information on why Fraser Fyvie wasn't sent off this afternoon. More than a passing resemblance to Neil Lennon, I'm just saying.

Poor result, not the best performance. Let's forget it and move on.

01 Nov 2015 18:58:11
Constant fouling all referees have some they let away with it, Bartley made one tackle got booked fyvie made 20 fouls got booked once. Not biased refereeing just shockingly bad.

01 Nov 2015 20:54:45
Cee – same discussion on the other glasgow page. Put the bias shouts aside it all comes down to the guy in black. Managers, players and the media can't slate officials or question their ability and it isn't properly reviewed and if it is, the findings aren't made public. Officials have purchase on the strings that decide league and competition prize money places, they have a baffling hold on a multibillion pound industry with zero transparency or criticism at any level regarding their numerous poor decisions and the potential costs to the aggrieved clubs . Memory fails me for the exact quote but I remember a story a while back about a championship ref getting £200 a game and a premiership ref north of £800. It is still £133 and . gulp £533 an hour. For some its a second job! Till there is an honest performance review system, better training, candidate selection, demotion, promotion and dare I say it TV replay help nothing will change.

02 Nov 2015 07:20:18
I genuinely don't think there are corrupt or deliberately biased referees in Scotland either one way or the other, but I agree with rglen in that they must be held accountable. If most of us made errors in our jobs that referees make on a daily basis we would be sacked, simple as that.

The original post was referring to the two footed tackle in the last few minutes that caused the mass 'brawl'. How he wasn't shown a straight red is beyond me.

01 Nov 2015 15:13:21
Its all gone a bit stale last 5 games or so, absolutely no pun intended btw. Give Hardie a go up front, can't do any worse than Clarke. Wilson is a lump, looked as if he had an attitude problem too due to his recent omission from starting line up. Maybe the toe up the arse we've needed of late. Still welcome the chase.

01 Nov 2015 15:51:10
Spot on gkk, I think the team needs freshened up like u say it's not kneejerk reaction we've been off the boil for 5weeks, and before people say how can u be critical of mw are the team every rangers manager has been criticised for tactics are team selection during our history so mw isn't above criticism even though he has had a brilliant start to his career with us.

01 Nov 2015 22:58:24
I'll say it again, Wilson was a major mistake.

01 Nov 2015 14:58:25
Is this not a contradiction?

"This is just another game"

Three centre backs in our starting eleven for the first time this season.

Can't kelp thinking if Mr Warburton did his usual and played Sheils or Law instead of Wilson and put Ball at centre back we would've won this game.

When Hibernian lose to St Mirren and we beat Alloa. This game will become null and void.

If Falkirk win and Hibs lose, they can do what they will be doing between now and the end of the season. Watching their backs and securing a play off place.

01 Nov 2015 14:44:58
How long do we keep playing foderingham and zelalem for as both of them are rank. foderingham with his short throws, kicks and he can't keep a hold of the ball long enuff to let our player get into position as for zelalem for weeks now your lucky if he's managed 2 string two passes together send him back.

01 Nov 2015 14:53:30
The lad from arsenal is obviously talented I just don't think he's the type we need reminds me of Joe Allen lots of touches but how many killer balls does he play, saying that he might be suited to the spl if we get there next season. But I have to say from half time until hibs scored it was the best we've played in weeks hit cross bar and post and last ditch block from gray,

01 Nov 2015 14:55:20
Foderingham is there for the long term, don't see much in any of our loanees really. We definitely need strengthening, but the current lot should safely see us promoted as champions- barring any points deductions. Decent game today, unlucky to lose in the end.

01 Nov 2015 23:01:43
Fod is an excellent keeper.

01 Nov 2015 14:13:02
The defending today has been diabolical particularly Wilson. I think MW will need more than two new recruits come January.

01 Nov 2015 14:26:20
Very poor defensively. Fraser fyvie is the only player in Scotland who can make 12 fouls before getting booked.

01 Nov 2015 14:29:05
At least 3 required. CB CM CF.
Also need a defensive coach.

01 Nov 2015 14:31:12
Think we need a striker more urgently. Apart from Waghorn the strikers can't score. Miller not scored since early in the season and Clark just can't score. Yet again the 2 full backs look more likely to score than the strikers today.

01 Nov 2015 14:33:29
One defeat in the league this season and we are asking for new players in January.
In Warbs we trust.

01 Nov 2015 14:39:16
Copland1

Think anyone can see we need more players in January, Warburton has said this as has King. There are areas of the park where we are weak and if we want to challenge in the top league the squad needs improving. Weaknesses have been exposed by St Johnstone and Hibs today and we have been struggling to break teams down in the last 4 or 5 matches.

01 Nov 2015 14:39:31
IT was MW that said we'd need a couple of new players.

01 Nov 2015 14:52:22
Think we will need a better goalie for the top flight and Wilson really is a big disappointment.

On the whole though a very decent start to the season so today is the wrong time for any kneejerk reactions.

01 Nov 2015 14:58:18
Naz

What posts have been knee jerk reactions? Think people have come on here and made good points. There is weaknesses in the team and they have been highlighted by posters on here. Think most of the comments have been pretty fair tbh.

01 Nov 2015 15:29:58
Biffo316

Warbs, Weir and McParland will be already looking at players, and we know areas of the team need strengthend but 11/12 league wins ain't a bad start.

01 Nov 2015 15:49:03
Fair point Biffo316. I was really meaning a couple of comments from some bears elsewhere online but didn't put that point across.

01 Nov 2015 19:37:24
Naz

Fair enough.

01 Nov 2015 14:12:41
Cummings absolutely bogging, he's pure mince, just a few quotes from earlier in the week . Yet he seems to score a right few goals, and runs our defence ragged every time he's up against us!

01 Nov 2015 14:26:53
Hes a cracking player especially at this level.

01 Nov 2015 14:34:24
I would take him anyday over Clarke and miller djab.

01 Nov 2015 14:40:45
Hooly78

Agreed mate can't see how any Rangers fan can have a go at him when we have Clark? Think that's his 5th goal in 6 games when has Clark done that for us?

01 Nov 2015 18:46:49
Have never fancied Wilson or Clark. Neither will make it in the top flight.

01 Nov 2015 13:11:31
We are crying out for a decent striker Clarke certainly not good enough! Hopefully proves me wrong in the remainder of the match.

01 Nov 2015 13:30:39
Cant believe you are criticising Clarke! Wilson is having a nightmare, not willing to tackle, not willing to get close when required and his distribution is woeful!

01 Nov 2015 13:45:12
Agree blue he is having a nitemare, I just think we need a striker.

01 Nov 2015 14:25:13
How can you not criticise Clark? He CAN'T score goals and just runs around like a headless chicken. How many times is this going to happen before the manager realises he isn't good enough.

01 Nov 2015 14:26:03
BallockBlue

Are you only allowed to criticise 1 player per game?

01 Nov 2015 13:44:11
Never been a good defender, get the boy Logan in from the as, and Baird from saints.
