The King/ Murray £25m deal first muted by Alastair Johnston has been "laughed out of town" by both majority shareholder Sir David Murray and Lloyds Banking Group.

Preferred buyer Craig Whyte's £52.5m package is set to be publicly endorsed by LBG and rubberstamped by SDM tomorrow.

In regards to this last post-

Heard from a reliable source that the whyte deal is on the brink of collapse as the board are going to try and buy the club on the cheap

I think you may be right, i'm not too sure we're being told everything that's goin on. I mean if the likes of the Greig aren't too sure about whyte then maybe it will collapse. I

I really hope that this isn't a scare off tactic by the rangers board and they want us to go into administration so they can buy the club for peanuts. I really fear for us now if something doesn't happen soon.

We are the quintessential British club and should NOT be supported as such. (I wil get ripped for this but here goes) Rangers stands as a Scottish club and only a Scottish club, England don't want us nether do the EPL. So why suport Britania when Scotland (Rangers, Celtic, Spl) get so littel from them. Lets try and do sumthing about it that can bring more money in for the hole of Scottish football.
I for 1 don't beleve in this British / Irish thing that goes on and i can't really understand why fans of both sides can't accept that there team REPRESENTS SCOTLAND! Rangers and Celtic fans should understand this and work with the rest of scottish football to try and raise the standard. (That includes the smaller teams to work with the big 2 aswell)

STAND UP FOR THE CHAMPIONS! !

Re: "the 2 songs i mentioned are the only 2 songs that are banned fact so we can sing the rest

and to the guy that asked about build my gallows that is fine to sing"Why? Why sing a song that has NOTHING to do with my club or football in general?

It's this type of attitude that keeps getting my club in trouble. Keep the religious dogma away from the game.

Listen, the basic ethos and traditions of our club will still shine through EVEN IF these Unionist songs are stopped.

What I'm saying is that we should not give "the authorites" a reason to come down on us. Let's take the lead in this for we ARE the people. Be proud. Stand up and be counted. We are the quintessential British club and should be supported as such.

Its the board that are to blame for the mess we are in just now and for 1 i don't trust them on the songs issue the only songs that we have been told that are banned are the famine song and billys boys we need to be told by ranger uefa or the spl what songs we can singK {Ed001's Note - isn't it a simple matter of looking at the lyrics and having the sense to see for yourself? It is not like the crowd consists of 5 year olds, you should be able to judge for yourself what is right and what is not.}

Come on fellow Gers, we are the most successful football club in the world. We don't need to sing songs that have a reference to other teams. Why not sing about our great club. I go to support Rangers, not talk of other teams.

Re- what songs can be sung! . ARE YOU FOR REAL.
Rangers fans know what songs to sing and what not too! Any fan who sings songs of religious hate should be rightfully jailed. "up to our knees"-NOT IN MY NAME!

Is build my gallows sectarian, i can't think of any anti-catholic line in it.

This stuff way Neil Lennon, Paul McBride and Trish Godman is a disgrace. Its making the Rangers fans look worse than than we all ready do. This is probaly nothing to do with Rangers fans in Scotland altho its probs from an element in N.Ireland. I know 99.9% Rangers fans don't condone this and never will, altho it does reflect on us as a club. Rangers as a club need to start taking the lead and leave Celtic behind on the sectarian issue aswell, we need to stand up for the CHAMPIONS. This team don't deserve to go through what the fans are putting them through, they have done what we have wanted. (Titles and Cups) Why don't we give them what they need witch is not empty stadia on a big european night??

Also from what i have heard about this takover or 2 be blunt what i have read about it, Rangers board are in my opinion, wanting to keep hold of the club untill the summer so they can go out as champions. Witch is not in the best interests of the club but therselfs they want to leave a legasey. I personally don't think they can generate £25m or even anywhere near that figure. (Why would they not have done so before now you have got to ask yourself) If David Murray and LBG are happy with him, then why are the board holding this up?? D.Murray has stated that he wants a buyer that's going to be good for the club. So why has HE (D.MURRAY) agreed and LBG to the Whyte deal. We as Rangers supporter should STAND UP for our team and start to ask this board questions.

ITS TIME TO STAND UP FOR THE CHAMPIONS! !

OMFG! !

It's simple really. .

Keep songs which have religious or pro-Union sentiment away from the game.

Is that clear enough for everyone?

I'm effin sick of this to be honest. It's now at the stage that some "Rangers fans" are trying to kill their manager. Because he's Catholic. And his lawyer. Because he's Catholic. etc etc

Stick yourself in the plant pot and grow up. Not only are you lot ignorant, you are also poisonous. And poison has a tendency to spread. .

If you want to start a war of words on this go ahead. But let me ask you "pro-loyalist" brigade this simple question. . .

What differs your "glorious sentiment" of loyal rule from that of your republican brothers if your methods are the same?

THINK about it. There is NOTHING different between you and the insurgents our troops are fighting in a far off field. Because you use the failed arguments of "they're worse than us" and "but they do it as well"!

Beat them on the park. Humiliate them. run rings around them. Hump them 5-1. Again and Again. Berate your friends and collegues the next day at work. Phone your "Celtic-minded" family members and gie them pelters.

But kill them? Stand up in the office/ site/ workplace and sing about *fe*ian blood" and doing stuff with the pope? Mime flute-playing gestures? Ummmm. .hello? SOunds a bit ridiculous doesn't it?.

I'm all for the banter and craic. I indulge in it on these pages, their page and some of the other clubs' pages. But racial/ religious/ ethnically motivated humour has NO place. Why would it?

On the same note, would you tolerate songs about black b*stards? P*kis? N*ggers? If you would, then you have no place at my club. Please stay away and stop spreading your poison.

End of rant

Jamie Mulgrew is on a bosman. So is big McAuley so we would not be paying for them. And I have not heard Mulgrew is coming. But I have been told that he is a good player.A holding midfielder who is hard to knock of the ball.We need one of those types.Since we have mist Thompson.

Have to disagree blue knows. I think neil lennon loves celtic more than he hates rangers and would show rangers fans plenty of civility and respect (apart from during the chaos of an old firm game). What do you chaps think?

I would agree he loves Celtic but I also think he hates Rangers. I personally don't like him, I think it's disgraceful what is happening to him but in a footballing sense do not like him.

Folks, I have said it to my mates and my old man who have all agreeed that the Whyte Ellis takeover wasn't what it seemed. Whyte looks a slippery character and what exactly is Ellis' involvement in getting 25% stake of our club without paying a penny ? It seems dodgy to me and I have always believed that Dave King would be the man to tke us forward. I believe he has recently been cleared of all or most of the charges brought against him in South Africa (anyone confirm ?) and he seems to have Rangers at heart. Ellis on the other hand was rejected as not good enough before and now he is part of the deal again. Somethign aint right and I have faith in Alistair Johnston to bring the right man in for us.

There is no doubt that we will get a buyer. There is too many rich bluenoses out there to let our club die. It doesn't matter at this stage of the season anyway coz we can't buy anyone so we should put it to oner side and concentrate on winning the league title again. If we win this league it won't be us that are in a mess, it will be the rookie over at snake mountain and his squad of 35.

Rangers are in institution and part of each and everyone of us.

Big John Knox

I always questioned why Ellis was so keen to get involved with Rangers, he seems a bit of a wide boy. I'm sure there is other potential buyers out there, maybe King?? Maybe someone who has never been mentioned. And as you say, Rangers is an institution, it might take time but something will be sorted out. But you guys know more than me.

Firstly - I love Rangers and I dislike Celtic. I also dislike Lennon mainly because he so passionately hates my team.
But these letter bombs sent to him and two others is ridiculous! Lennon is not a man I'd choose to invite round for dinner, but do I wish him dead? over football? NO!
More and more Rangers and its supporters are being portrayed as the spawn of the devil. Instead of helping the press in their smear campaign, why don't we stop this foolishness? IF a song is deemed offensive, lets stop singing it or change the words. Show everyone we have the intelligence and confidence to express the love of our team and culture without giving them more ammo to fire back at us. It is blatantly obvious that if we do not do something then they will strangle our club. More sanctions from UEFA, fines from all and sundry and the negative press that will eventually erode our fan base.
Rangers fans should be the good guys and let the attention be focussed on the green side of the city who have an element of their support equally as despicable as anything we have got.
On Sunday I will watch Rangers move closer to winning the league. But even if they lose I won't be looking for a Celtic supporter to beat up. . .cause its only Football!

C'mon the Gers!

100% respect! ! Well said and put across, it's time the decent fans from BOTH sides got their own house in order. Do we really want our 2 great clubs hitting the headlines for all the wrong reasons again? I just hope Sunday doesn't end up shaming us all over the world again. During and after the match.
