Hi Bears,
Re: Hummel, Me, personally, not bothered who makes the kit, actually really looking forward to it. A fresh start that may when, we all look back in years to come, when things actually started to change for the best, the puma years will be associated with failure eg, Barton, Progress Ned, Breadman, Miller/ Wallace etc. let's hope we look back with great memories of the Hummel years. It may seem innocuous but the puma strip is tarnished and must be never worn again - ever.
Im not of the JD sports generation so anybody who is annoyed with Hummel and were with Nike, Addidas and let's face it North Face these days, get a grip - your a Ranger not a cat walk model.

PS - I posted months ago after the breadman that Wenger "may" be on the cards because of the negativity down there and I have said Brenda would go at the first good offer out of that land fill site they call Parkhead.

Not saying it will happen in a year of Sundays, but the irony if this did happen would not be lost on me.

On Managers -I think either way we will end up with a top man at the helm. Kinda like the look of Nigel Pearson after reading up on him. Sound history and a no nonsense (understatement) manager.

Murty looked a beaten man in the press conference and Declan John was doing his best to put that game behind them/ him. Mentally i'm not convinced the squad are on this planet, again the gravity of the club they have the privilege to play for hits home. Hopefully I will be proved wrong on Sunday.

All the best for the weekend Bears.

The board should hang there heads in shame with the way they've treated Graeme Murty. If I was a half decent manager who was getting considered for the job I would tell them to shove it and my first game I went to was 54 years ago so I think I can be called a good Rangers man. This board are turning our club into a joke a headline for every back page of a paper. I've seen posts where some people are backing Miller and Wallace. Us this the way we want our club run? That the players call the shots? This board have told us nothing they've went into hiding they should come out and tell the fans what's happening we deserve that much.

20 Apr 2018 22:42:12
Murty is way out of his depth as Rangers Manager and has been found out. No matter how badly the board has treated him he shouldn’t get the job

21 Apr 2018 00:10:03
The board should be sacked in my opinion for their performance, Warburton, caxchina, all the money given to sign the likes of Penna, Herrera, cardoso, alves, millions wasted, then the absolute arse they made of trying to get McInnes, murtys treatment with kings statement and now hanging out players miller and Wallace out to dry, it's not good enough or acceptable for our club, king and his board need to go

21 Apr 2018 07:20:50
Del, how do you go about sacking a board? We can maybe protest them out but can we sack them and who do we then appoint?
jaws how badly has murty been treated? he's been promoted to first team coach, backed in the transfer window and given an easy ride regarding results, especially at Ibrox. Everything just came to a head this week after months (just murty i'm talking about here) of frustration. In my opinion the board have got it wrong but only by giving murty too easy a ride. And by the way murty is not going to lose his job he will just be moved back as he was promoted way out of his depth.

21 Apr 2018 09:25:09
ArthurD I don't think Murty should get job he looks lost now but the board are to blame in my opinion. Its not Murtys fault he isn't good enough he was asked to take it and he wasn't going to knock that job back. I thought he was doing well enough to be offered the job permanent a few months back but I was wrong and I hold my hands up to that. I think the split is going to be a disaster and the board are going to let him take the flak while they try and sort mess out that they created in first place.

21 Apr 2018 10:39:09
Sack the board and get who and don’t say the fat man, nobody else interested

20 Apr 2018 18:50:24
There are quite a few posters here I have a high opinion of. One or two perhaps not. The point is that there are better opinions set out on this page than you read in most of the papers from ex pros claiming a degree of expertise. Now I know Johnston is not an ex footballer and has every right to express his views but I have to question what curve he's referring to. If we're above his, he's below mine. The money spent (lost) under Pedro is staggering.

20 Apr 2018 20:47:28
Judging by the reaction since the statement his views are not shared by a lot of the suppprt

20 Apr 2018 17:34:31
Are there any development players chapping first team door? If so who and should they maybe play between now and end of season? Surely would perform better than first team did last week! I wouldn't complain if I see a host of first team players dropped.

20 Apr 2018 20:00:59
By all accounts the youth team are doing and playing well beating high standard youth teams from europe, i'd be shocked if middleton isn't close to first team as his name constantly pops up

20 Apr 2018 21:15:39
I’d like to see Stephen Kelly in the squad, high hopes for him!

20 Apr 2018 21:32:16
Middleton and barjo should be in match day squads better players than your ohallerans or hallidays etc

20 Apr 2018 22:24:22
Barjonas is 5 times the player Halliday is

20 Apr 2018 22:43:52
Think O’Halloran should be given a run out on Sunday he can’t be as bad as the rubbish that have been playing recently.

20 Apr 2018 17:07:15
so what is it that puts you off Hummel then? can some of you experts out there please tell me.

20 Apr 2018 17:14:32
I couldn't care less, it's the RFC badge that makes me but the top, but some people can't live without a big sports brand on them

20 Apr 2018 17:37:25
Nowt wrong with Hummel main thing is its a better deal than we have had in recent years! And no one is creaming us

20 Apr 2018 18:11:20
I’m looking forward to seeing the Hummel old school style, I reckon the strips will be big sellers. It will have the RFC badge and we are making decent cash 👍🏼

21 Apr 2018 00:34:45
Simply put, it's not a Hummel top, it's a Rangers top and if any 'fans' are too up themselves not to wear it because of who sews it together then they can do one.

20 Apr 2018 16:13:30
Not a rumour but reading between the lines of Alastair Johnson and Dave Kings recent statements, it would not surprise me to see Walter and Ally back.

Not sure exactly how it would work as I can't see Walter taking a full time roll but think some kind of advisory roll to help ease Ally back into position would work.

Ally initially did a good job but the chaos of Green and Whyte took its toll.

20 Apr 2018 16:23:32
Absolutely NO chance mate NONE

20 Apr 2018 16:49:07
Sorry DK, how is it possible to read between the lines and come to that conclusion. Could you please explain your reasoning?

20 Apr 2018 16:52:35
Very much doubt it . I wouldn’t say no to Walter but can’t see it

20 Apr 2018 17:14:02
McCoist back and my renewal goes in the bin. Fed up seeing my club managed by clowns

20 Apr 2018 17:15:45
Walter already said the only job he would take is the Scotland job and he even knocked that back

20 Apr 2018 18:12:23
I don’t have any sound reasoning but Ally has been making positive noises as if the PR machine is in overdrive.

Walter has always been supportive of Ally and feels that he had an unfair time but that he was the man for the job had the club not imploded.

King has said the new manager will bring immediate success. who can that be within our budget constraints?

Between Walters loyalty to the club and his liking for Ally I can see a small chance of it happening.

20 Apr 2018 20:28:22
How can King say any new manager will bring immediate success. No one can guarantee that and how about continues success? Is he getting any money to spend for starters. typical King.

20 Apr 2018 15:05:09
Disappointed to see Murty taking the press conference this afternoon as it now looks like he will be taking last 5 matches? Would have preferred if he had been removed as we are in free fall and he can't cope! 😡.

20 Apr 2018 15:43:39
Murtys the manager and I’d like to think most bears will get behind the team for the last five games like we have for the last 5 years.
Don’t forget Murty was a youth coach dropped in it by an inept board.
I think it should be a case of thanks for your efforts and hope the man goes back to the role with Rangers youth squad he excels at.

20 Apr 2018 16:50:39
It’s time to back murty and the team for the next 5 games so we get 2nd. there’s no way the board were going to sack him and have more embarrassing headlines about our club

20 Apr 2018 12:43:54
Now Wenger's leaving Arsenal we need to get him up here! 🤪Stevie Clarke will go to C*litic should Brenda leave.

20 Apr 2018 15:39:58
Rodgers isn't getting the Arsenal job 😂🤣

20 Apr 2018 12:17:23
Surprised there is not more on here about the reports yesterday that many players seen to be denying any thing happened in the dressing room and that miller and wallace are being made scapegoats.
If this is true murtys position is untenable as he should be backing his players not throwing them under a bus
It's a phrase I hate, but I think he's lost the dressing room
I feel hearts will beat us hibs will draw with them! then it sets us up the nightmare of the title being won against us
Am I being ahead of the curve there?

20 Apr 2018 12:42:02
Ahead of the curve? hahaha you ripping it?

20 Apr 2018 15:05:20
Can see Hibs winning tomorrow. Hopefully Aberdeen win lose too though

20 Apr 2018 17:17:28
Can see hibs winning too, both Celtic and Lennon would love for it to happen so they win the title against us

20 Apr 2018 10:32:30
Problem I find is. The board has backed the manager in this miller wallace situation. Now it seems to me that they now can't go against murty and sack him. You don't suspend 2 players then weeks later sack the manager. They have pushed themselves into a corner. 'If' we lose on sunday they can't exactly sack him. To be fair there farce of handling things would not suprise me if they released miller and wallace for challenging murtys tactics then sacked murty for his poor tactics.

20 Apr 2018 11:24:41
both players in question have history of doing this so get rid

murty not being sacked seeing out till end of season as agreed then new boss appointed

20 Apr 2018 11:30:21
Ok first of all there will be no ‘sacking’ of Murty. His contract is only until the end of the season and that was always the case. He just won’t be offered another contract. And secondly this is not about Miller and Wallace against Murty. It’s about two employees apparently (and I say that because no one really knows what happened, remember folks don’t believe everything. or anything, you read in the papers) undermining their manager in front of the rest of the employees.
For those of us who have ever had a job, I think we all know what would happen if we started shouting at and slagging our direct managers performance right in front of all our colleagues, more than likely a one way ticket to unemployment, or at least a suspension or final written warning. Just because this is a football club where emotions and feelings and the emotions and feelings of fans come into play doesn’t change the fact that it’s a place of employment and that there are still codes of conduct and rules.
(And by the way as stated, I’m not saying that any of this definetly happened the way it’s being reported, I’m simply stating how things work)

20 Apr 2018 11:32:35
I believe 'history' of this involves shocking managers at our club. Although Tilladie you can inform me if he stood up to a manager other than those and if they didn't include a defeat to them.
I would swap you reply around. Get rid of murty and keep them till end of season.

20 Apr 2018 11:53:17
Okay fair enough Ger78. If we are putting it into a work place environment then we also have to take in the fact that murty has made huge failures and cost the company money. If that was as you say a work place he would have also be made unemployed or suspended. The rules are for all in the club.

20 Apr 2018 12:31:53
Yes, hence the reason he won’t be the manager next season. And remember up until about 4 weeks ago when we narrowly lost to Celtic at ibrox most people were fairly happy with how we were doing and the way we were playing (a number of rather over confident folk on this site were starting to talk about us actually wining the league this season) . Believe me if this was half way through the season and or even if there was a viable short term alternative until the end of the season then I’m sure Murty probably would be off. However (and this has to fall at the feet of the board) we took the ‘last resort’ option by putting the under 20’s coach in charge for the remainder of the season last October therefore we now really have no other option but to leave him in place for the last 5 games. I’m sure the question has been raised at boardroom level but it seems they don’t have a viable alternative that they feel won’t cause too much disruption over the what’s left of the season. (Again I’m not saying that I believe that’s the right decision or that the board are doing the right thing so please don’t think I’m sticking up for them, i'm purely looking at the situation subjectively rather than emotionally and considering all options available. Really this whole situation goes back to when they appointed the wrong man in Pedro which has ultimately led us to this)

20 Apr 2018 13:24:03
I have said before mark warburton had faults but he wasnt where they made the real mistake. He done what the previous manager couldn't and got us up he just couldn't do it at spl level. The fault was the board employing pedro then an under 20s coach. It all falls at there feet. This is rangers football club! these are the actions of a local semi-pro team, not us.

20 Apr 2018 14:33:05
I’m not going to disagree with you there. I think a lot of this comes down to the fact that none of us as fans really know the true situation that the club is in and never really have done since everything went tits up. We were blatantly lied to by the likes of Whyte and Green as they went about lining their own pockets, we were even hidden from the real truths of how bad things were getting by Murray. No one really knows how bad things were when the current board took over. It truely wouldn’t surprise me if we actually were close to a second administration. No fan really knows how much has had to be done behind the scenes in order to stabilise the club, improve the football administrative and youth set ups, repair ibrox and auchenhowie and all the other a million and one things that have to be done.
On the other hand in terms of the things that are visible to the fans, ie the actual performance of the team, there have obviously been a number of bad mistakes made and often it has appeared that at times the board have not done nearly enough to make the required improvements. However is that due to a lack of effort and knowledge or is it partly a symptom of a continued lack of financial resources.
To me one of the biggest mistakes they made and continue to do so looking at Johnston’s statements today, is telling the fans how good things are and creating unrealistic expectations. When we were promoted 2 years ago all the ‘going for 55’ nonsense just raised expectations and made the fans believe we were ready to challenge when clearly we were miles off. It was the same again this season. A little more realism in their statements would help but then again telling the fans to be patient and that we probably won’t win the league this year isn’t going to help sell tickets which in turn will hurt the club further as there will be even less in terms of finances, so catch 22.
In regards to Johnston saying we are ahead of the curve that was a silly thing to say, especially this week, however perhaps from a business point of view, behind the scenes they are ahead of where they expected to be (for example apparently they are going to go ahead with a new share issue in the next few weeks where it had been expected to be a few months away) . Although to the fans, the product that we are seeing definetly doesn’t appear to be ‘ahead of the curve’. It’s systematic of the board not understanding the feelings of the fans and seeing things from a business rather than an emotional point of view.
Personally I would like to see them being more realistic and upfront about what our current situation actually is, unfortunately pragmatism doesn’t sell tickets!

20 Apr 2018 20:35:50
Ger78 there is no chance of a share issue any time soon. No MOMAD in place and until King offers the 20p per share to all shareholders no shares are being issued.

20 Apr 2018 21:24:41
King is making the share offer next week Johnnymac55

Football-Rumours Editors Premier League Season Awards

{Ed's Note - Ed001 has posted a new article entitled, Football-Rumours Editors Premier League Season Awards

20 Apr 2018 10:18:03
3.2.1. Arsene for rangers.

20 Apr 2018 11:25:17
Rodgers for arsenal even better

20 Apr 2018 14:33:11
I can easily see BR going to Arsenal at the end of the season if he wins the double treble. I mean, what more would he have to achieve here except 10 in a row?!

20 Apr 2018 16:35:27
Arsenal fans wouldn't won't him. Nobody in England cares about the SPL. Getting a double treble makes them think our league is terrible rather that that he's doing a good job

20 Apr 2018 09:56:05
Anyone hear Ally Mccoist on the radio this morning? He tells us that he worked for nothing initially after admin (as did a few others) then took a 55% pay cut at his next wage negotiation then never lifted his wage when King came in. I argued those points at the time to people that said he was a parasite. He should still be at Ibrox!

20 Apr 2018 10:17:37
I find it hard to believe that anyone who got offered the money he was on would turn it down for the good of the club, no matter how much they love the club.

20 Apr 2018 11:01:12
Murtys only position of strength lies in results. If Gers keep winning it weakens Wallace/ Miller position. But if results go against Murty he will be yesterday's news and Gers manager. Miller and Wallace will be laughing.

20 Apr 2018 11:08:43
That says more about you than Ally marco c.

20 Apr 2018 11:18:47
Who are these people that think Ally would never tell a lie lol

Why should he still be at Ibrox? He couldnae win the Petfrofac Cup in 3 attempts and in his last season his team finished 3rd in the Championship. Okay he wasn't in charge by the end. Worst of all he backed Whyte and Green.

20 Apr 2018 12:09:20
No gerom' he backed Rangers. Did you come to Ibrox under whyte and gre*n? If you did then you also backed them!1

20 Apr 2018 17:09:32
I cannot believe anyone would want him back as Manager. He was a quite shocking manager. The football was atrocious, he couldn’t win the Petrofac cup and some of the players signed were worse than awful. His record in cup competitions was also very poor all round shocking Manager. Why would any sane fan want him back?

20 Apr 2018 08:26:32
Having just read the Ahead of the curve statement i'm becoming more and more convinced that murty will be our full time manager on a year rolling contract. We can't afford a top manager and they backed him over the two players. Hope not but i fear it may happen.

20 Apr 2018 08:45:50
They will not sell the amount of season tickets needed with Murty in charge

20 Apr 2018 09:14:26
I honestly hope i'm wrong but i have a bad feeling about this. You also wonder about the business accumen of our directors to come out with that tosh hot on the heels of the celtic disgrace and 2 players being suspended.

20 Apr 2018 09:47:07
Unless there is a complete change of ownership and investment of our club I can’t see any decent manager willing to put his career on the line to manage our club in the shambolic state it’s in, Dave king and co have done their bit and failed

20 Apr 2018 09:53:40
Problem is people like myself it's an automatic process to renew, so my st has went up which i don't mind but getting fed pants about being on our curve and finishing 3rd or 4th is acceptable would love to see our pricing compared to the sheep or the hobos just to point out we don't pay for 3rd or 4th. something needs to change, or maybe fans like me will just stop the automatic renewal until we get answers, still be there against hearts though

20 Apr 2018 10:25:22
StmonkeyRFC I totally agree. I’m in the club deck paying EPL prices for absolute rubbish. The product on the park isn’t good enough and there appears to be no long term plan regarding the playing staff or manager.

Like you I will renew out of blind faith. However I wouldn’t blame some fans if they choose not to. We are the club everyone used to fear and also hate passionately. How much we were hated by every club came as a bit of a shock. Now we are the club everyone laughs at.

Total shambles.

20 Apr 2018 12:39:13
Im with holding my renewal until i hear what's happening with murty no doubt the deadline will be extened if we all hold our nerve

20 Apr 2018 13:27:59
RTID I have already decided I’ll waut till I see the decisions the board make before I renew I’ve had my season ticket for over thirty years but we are at a new low and I’m beyond the curve

Ahead of the curve! For fcuk sake. Where is Murty? The whole thing us a shambles and an embarrassment to us all. He should have stood up and be counted. If Lee Wallace and Kenny Miller stood up and delivered a few hone truths well good on them. If i could have been in there i would have done the same. I've not got any words to express my feelings, hurting, embarrassed, shambles, disgrace, well there is some. Lord Lucan is more likely to appear than Murty. Ahead of the curve! Jokers. 😱.
