Ed001 I know that you will be gutted to the out come of this Luis Suarez has been banned for eight matches and fined £40,000 by the Football Association for racially abusing Patrice Evra. But a hypothetical question what do you think would happen if it was a supporter that racially abused Evra?
FF81 {Ed001's Note - tough one, especially as the word used by Suarez is a common term in the Spanish speaking word and is not considered offensive. I doubt anything would be done, after all Evra has admitted foul and abusive language towards Suarez preceding it and yet has yet to receive any charge. I am struggling with this, I just can't imagine the FA caring about it, certainly not enough to stick one of Fergie's mates on the panel to ensure 'justice' is done! I think the Terry verdict will show us what kind of attitude the FA really have towards racism.}

Believable5 Unbelievable3

Totally agree with you Ed. What Terry was supposed to have said to A Ferdinand well I can't repeat because I would get the police at my door compared to what Suarez is an absolute joke. Can I ask the question again? What John Terry said to A Ferdinand, what would happen if it was a supporter saying the same thing and the police caught them?
FF81 {Ed001's Note - that would clearly be an arrest and prosecution. I certainly wouldn't expect them to just walk away scott free. Isn't Terry under investigation by the police at the moment? If not, then I have to wonder why Terry's case has yet to be heard. What do you think would happen?}

Agree3 Disagree1

I would be in the police cell right now waiting to go infront of the judge tomorrow if I allegedly said what Terry had said. Suarez will win his appeal surely?
FF81

Agree3 Disagree1

What was it he said to evra anyway? {Ed001's Note - he said the word negrito, Spanish for little black man and is the nickname used by Evra's team mates for him. Whereas Evra has admitted using the term sudaca, in a nasty way, which is a racial slur used by Spanish speakers to refer to those of South American origin. I am not so sure I understand the FA's reasoning in this case at all. Suarez was charged and found guilty of misconduct for what he said, while Evra, who has admitted a racial slur, is not even charged. No one at Liverpool would have complained if Evra faced a charge and received a punishment (as he has admitted guilt there is little need to discuss anything other than what punishment he should receive) on a similar level.}

Hey bears there was a post on the rumours site about a payoff with hmrc. Heard today that hmrc wrote off £25 BILLION in corporate taxes last year. I definately expect a deal to be reached. CheltBlue

Believable3 Unbelievable3

Well, you'll be definitely disappointed.

Agree2 Disagree4

The taxman wants it all. the government needs to claw back as much money as it can

Agree1 Disagree1

I think you'll find that HMRC has just been dragged over the coals by the government for, and i quote "letting big businesses get away with it". This was a Guardian headline only 2 days ago. Apparently HMRC are to pursue and demand every last penny of money owed to them from now on from corporate enterprises.

Agree2 Disagree1

Like vodaphone where estimated to owe £8 billion but paid £1.25 billion ? That means hmrc where overestimating by £6.75 billion? They always go over the top and then back down for a lesser payment . Reason why millions are getting rebates at the moment. CheltBlue

Agree1 Disagree0

Just realised Ive been talking tax. :( Im sorry. CheltBlue

To the people saying ht Mark Guidi and Daryl King were saying on clyde 1 tonight that rangers will strike a deal with hmrc between 10-15 million, they did not say say this, they were saying that this is one of many possible outcomes but did say that the pendulem is most likely towards a rangers victory in the case due to the fact that if rangers go into admin then hmrc dont get a penny. I may only be a 16 year old poster, and have posted quite a few times, but have a vast knowledge for the game and the club i love and dont want to get peoples hopes up or read lies that tarnish the clubs name!

MainStandBear!

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Honestly hmrc have more power than anyone. They will tell rangers straight you dodged tax aye it's our mistake but you still owe us X million. Rangers play the admin card then hmrc will demand they sell players to make the bill. Hmrc WILL get something don't believe this crap of they won't get a penny. Don't believe me ask any accountant about hmrc.

As for a deal to be done. As above hmrc know everything about everyone from your last pay to the last penny in your account. They will see & judge how much & when rangers will pay it up they have access to all their accounts & will see what rangers & whyte have money wise. Then they can demand it all in one or over X payments then you will see the changes & knife in rangers fans gets stuck in.

Lenny

Agree2 Disagree2

Dont listen to any more talk of deals!hmrc are pissed at rangers for continuing to spend while they knew this problem was coming.king, guidi et al swallowed murrays story about it all being ok.my mate was forced to sell his house for an o/due vat bill of 40k on a t/over of 150k! its bleak bears

Agree1 Disagree1

Your mate isnt rangers....i think a deal will be struck at some point, rangers are to big a name in world football to just dissapear of the map! Just to confirm, is the case rescheduled for januray, i know it has been changed but its not been talked about as much and i cant remember when its due lol

MainStandBear!

Agree0 Disagree1

The facts remain that no one, including the media have a clue how the case will end up,rangers fans where quick enough to claim the media had an agenda against rangers with talk of administration and a points deduction, why are you quick enough to believe the media with this story?even if rangers pay a small settlement to hmrc it still means they are guilty of non payment or avoidance of tax, rangers fans who pay their taxes should be ashamed of what their club has done and is still trying to avoid, they should pay back what is owed, the taxpayer does...why dont rangers?

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers will need to pay total tax bill. guidi and king are well known murrray puppets.

Agree1 Disagree0

I'm a leicester fan and bought up in pompey, both teams went into admin and payed 10p in the pound to taxman, using the excuse to offload high earners whilst keeping thier best young players. People that lost out were the contractors etc they owed money to

Wheres Edu? I doubt he will be out the team and would be on the bench at least

Agree0 Disagree2

Why disagree its the best team available at weekend or do you want to stick a cb in the midfielder again, or play 4-4-1-1 with bedoya? dream on jela n laffs wit aluko and wallace getting in behind fact is ally wants to play bartley but end of day goianegra r to solid to b split up he's a cb no use in the midfield play players to their strenght and the team will kick on, at least wallace can cross a ball unlike wylde..*ksd*

Agree4 Disagree1

What do you mean where's edu? the fans have been screaming including you to get him dropped and now you dont see him your upset? make your mind up

It's not ally's actual line up m8 just what id like to see us go with, and i don't think i'll be far from the right line-up, fo yeh edu will prob be on bench!*ksd*

Please do not consider Boyd , he has been found out everywhere he has went .We cannot afford a lump up front that sits and waits to pop one in from 6 yards.
He is gash , was before and still is now.

Believable3 Unbelievable5

He may be gash but he has scored more goals than almost all other Rangers players.

Here is something to think about. Boyd has scored more goals for Rangers than the entire Rangers squad put together. Not counting the manager!

GB, GERS FOR LIFE.

Agree1 Disagree0

Not every goal is a tap in from Boyd, who do you think he is Gary Hooper?

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeh proper found out at forrest wasnt he 6 goal in 10 games they must of been gutted

Rangers-143/101
Boro-27/6
Nottingham Forrest 10/6
Ekhirispor 2/0
Scotland 18/7

Mate you don't have a clue about football cos overall Boyd has a fantastic scoring record. All time top scorer in SPL. Bad 6 months at Boro. Great record for 6 months after that at Forrest then what was he expected to do in 2 starts in Turkey? Plus a great international scoring record when he's had the chance.

Name me someone better we can get for free that will score more and i'll let your stupid point stand.

Was listening to CLYDE 1 the night and I must say that maybe the mankies are getting harsher treatment from the scottish media....One of there Devout followers came on and said and very passionately "The Daily Record had a picture of ally and naismith on one side and lennon and forrest on the other and underneath it had Naisy and Coisty(pally names apparently) while on the other pic it only stated Lennon and Forrest" what about that ay we really do have the media in our back pocket lololol....

20 Dec 2011 19:22:21
I used to love boydy and stuck up for him if ever people had a go at him and I never wanted him to leave. But after seeing the football we've played since he left and comparing it to what we did with him here it is a different class at times. Losing him reduced the amount of times we lump it upfield or miss out the midfield all together.

We need new players with a point to prove and Boyd is not one of them. I don't care whether he's free I'd rather us take a punt on some young, unproven striker for 1mil and see what we get rather than bring Boyd back. Also, its a well known fact that good things aren't as good second time round ie Barry ferguson.
I want a new rangers not the old rangers.

Farid El Alagui looks to me like a good shout in January. If he is scoring goals in a young mediocre Falkirk side. He could turn in to be a good buy as he would get the service needed to score goals here. I reckon he would be a good option to have as we pretty lacking in the striking department. He also looks like he gives a 100% for the team.

Rory

Believable5 Unbelievable1

That young mediocre side beat us and play some fantastic football average age is 19, ive seen them play a few times and would love a couple of there players at ibrox

listen all this about Kris Boyd! i want posts with names to say that they would not quit their present job to go and do the same job else where for double their wages ( or more) after they had been in that job for at least 3 years also give reasons why they wouldnt. i have a good job i enjoy my job but put those figures in front of me and sorry im ofski too. jammydodger

I have a bad feeling if john fleck leaves we will have another c Adam on our hands.

Rablam

Believable8 Unbelievable5

If any player leaves you can't "have him on your Hands " too .

Agree2 Disagree1

I totally agree - I think Fleck has showed glimpses of good play this season and needs a run in the team. He is 10 x the player that Bedoya or McKay is.

With Coisty's tactics guys like fleck wont get a chance as McCoist likes 9 centre Halfs!

Agree5 Disagree6

10 times the player mckay or bedoya are?? get a grip pal. are you flecks agent or something? the boy has done ok at times. i posted yesterday to say mckay n bedoya need time to settle and gave pretty valid reasons as to why thsy may be struggling. mckay played for oz throughout the summer n bedoya played half a season in sweden while our season was coming to a close. tell me whats held back fleck? we were told he was the next big thing! since then ness, wilson n perry have all came in n made a better impression. am i wrong??
j1985

Agree5 Disagree0

Dont agree fleck is 10 x a player, but i do agree he needs a run in the team. I also agree coisty's tactics are woeful with his uncle walter attitude of playing players out of position and 10 centre halves.

Agree2 Disagree2

It will be best for both parties. He is simply not doing it at Rangers. The door should give him a kick up his phat bottom to get him to try a bit harder all round. His attitude is rotten.

Why do people resent Boyd for seeing out his contract then leaving? The guy honoured the contract he was given and tried england like many before him. Do these people resent every player that's ever left rangers? They say he did it for the money but didn't most players who left Rangers?

Believable9 Unbelievable0

He had the chance to go to birmingham and get us 4 million but thought he was too good for them thought he was more top 4 class. now hes top 4 all right in the top 4 fattest footballers in britain.

Lets start the build up now lads, Old Firm game next week going to be a tough one. I think Celtic fans are a bit over confident on this one but if we dont improve we could lose by a few. I'm sure Ally will have the lads fired up. I'm going for a 1 each draw.

BB1

Believable4 Unbelievable5

I am never confident when Celtic face Rangers you just dont know what way the game will go. On current form you would say Celtic but for me it is who comes out with the hunger to win on the day.

Ian

I would take a draw. Should be a good game

Agree0 Disagree2

Rangers v St Mirren. That's the most important game. We will deal with the Celtic game when it comes.

Agree9 Disagree1

Agree that the St Mirren game is more important. Secure the points against the Saints, and we make sure we are top going into the new year. I'll take any result ( win, or draw ) other than watching us stand and let the rabble roll us over like wee dugs ! AndyPandy63

Boyds record
Years Team team apps (Gls)†
2000–2006 Kilmarnock 153 (63)
2006–2010 Rangers 143 (101)
2010–2011 Middlesbrough 27 (6)
2011 → Nottingham Forest (loan) 10 (6)
2011 Eskişehirspor 2 (0
so as you can see boyd can cut it in the championship 6n10 for forrest is pretty good is it not! *ksd* {Ed001's Note - the Forest fans on their page seem keen to take him back. That suggests to me he must have done alright for them.}

I would have Boyd bk in a heartbeat!! Always guarantees u 25-30 a season at Rangers. We would have to pay 3-4m to get any1 close to that. Jelavic who is alot better than kris can ever dream about but being cant even guarantee 25. So bring Boydy home!! We should start a campaign!!

Believable5 Unbelievable2

Boyd was alright in good teams this rangers team huff and puff all day dont know if he,s the right type in this poor side, could see the fans getting on his back as he stand,s with his hands on his hips waiting for someone else to lay a goal on for him

Agree5 Disagree0

The problem we have just now is getting the ball into the areas where Boyd is most effective, so he would be rendered useless until we start to deliver quality balls into the box. At the minute, big Jela is forced to do too much work outside the box and there is no-one feeding off any knock downs, or passes from him. We need to play with two up front Ally !! AndyPandy63
