Now that Rangers have won an ugly, in the mud, blood and guts game - how do you see the season progressing?

I am looking at the remaining fixtures and am finding it difficult to pick out what game it is that we will drop points in. Yesterdays game was a tremendous 'cup' game - it reminded me of the games in the seventies with John Gregg and the mud and the rain. I have said it before and I will say it again, Ally is (without mentioning it, or focusing on it) trying to win every game. It is achievable, so it is, very achievable.

Take every game as it comes Ally - cannot wait till next Saturday.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed039's Note - You should be struggling to see games where we will drop points, because in the grand scheme of things, we really shouldnt be dropping points to these teams with the squad we have. I am not saying we should go the whole season winning every game, but when you look at the fixture list and what we have at our dosposal then we shouldnt be dropping points and when we do, regardless of whether we are 10,20 or 30 points clear, there will be an inquest)

We really shouldn't drop any points but I feel that's being a bit unfair to the other teams as I thought Brechin were terrific yesterday. Bad weathers on its way which will bring some interesting playing conditions and other teams will be playing out of their skins to break our unbeaten record so plenty of banana skins await us. Really wish we would play Templeton and Clark though. I can't for the life of me imagine why Templeton isn't starting unless he is carrying an injury or something.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed039's Note - I am in no way saying that points arent going to be dropped, what I am saying is there is no games on that fixture list we should be looking at and thinking tou ourselves we might drop points in this game or that game because the gulf in quality is so vast, and the money being spent is on another level)

Taggy?

It is good that we can win ugly on difficult playing surfaces and tight parks. I have no doubt that every game is a cup final, and that is as it should be. We are the big team after all. However, this is a truly surreal time and we can never say never. We are now through a quarter of the games - I think it is 27 to go. I am not saying we will win every game, hope so, but you never know. The more that teams set out their stall to try and beat us, because of who we are and our 100% record, then they will be left open - live the dream is what I say.

As for Templeton, you said it yourself, we don't know why he is not playing. Ally is trying to give each and every one a chance, and I hope he does it without losing the balance of the team.

the thing is I am enjoying were the team is and I am enjoying the football. I love the ugly games, especially when we win it - bring it on!

Agree0 Disagree0

@2 "ally is trying to give each and every one a chance"- Erm I wonder if Gasparato and wee Barry McKay agree with you?
Youth and experience please Mr McCoist otherwise we may as well shut Murray Park and sell it to Tesco at least then it would be contributing to the massive hole in the finances. Personally speaking we need it now more than ever and at least half the team should be products that were developed in the facility. This year I would have had McLeod, MacKay, McAusland, Gasparato and Aird that won't happen but it has to in the near future- please god.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ally is playing the young players, but he can't play them all at once or all the time - this way is called developing the team.

If Ally played these players and they got beat Ally would be hounded by the likes of you.

I take pride in knowing my team are doing there utmost to continue their winning streak, and as Ally stated getting on with the football whilst the boardroom is in meltdown.

I find it difficult to see the stance people like you are taking and for what reason. Once the club has stability on and off the field their will no doubt be a soul searching for all to determine what is best for Rangers, it's football and it's fans - just now is not the time.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed039's Note - I agree he cant play all young players all of the time, but I cant agree with the other point, that we need stability first and THEN we will determine what is best for Rangers, this should have been done long ago and should have been top of the agenda for every director that has entered the front doors at Ibrox)

@4 for £14. 40 million reasons. No need to reply let's just agree to differ thank you

Agree0 Disagree0

@4

'Once the club has stability on and off the field their will no doubt be a soul searching for all to determine what is best for Rangers, it's football and it's fans - just now is not the time'.

Absolutely spot on. Too many people aiming their grievances towards the footballing side, where it should be directed elsewhere.

#3) I posted at the start of the season that we would not see much of the McKays (in particular), gasperattos, aird etc & was roundly shot down. My opinion hasn't changed. despite what might or might not happen in the next couple of months with 'the club', I personally think AM doesn't have a plan B. Plan A consists of playing as many of this seasons signings as possible or are almost fit, and don't take chances with anybody else.
should be interesting once injury & suspension & bad weather kick in.

For the life of me I cannot understand the madness behind young mccausland going out on loan. Foster should never be starting before him at right back. It's a shambles. The big man was on cracking form as well. Bad decision making.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

A good post and I understand your point but McCausland is one for the future and needs game time and although you might argue against Foster, fact is he a top quality player and has a proven track record with us.

Foster will prove his worth and McCoist is preparing McCausland and others for the future. He knows what he's doing. I believe McCausland, Mitchell and Gasparrato will be joining McCleod in the first team in the next couple of years. More in fact.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed039's Note - Mitchell needs to show he is a player or his contract wont be renewed at the end of the season. Although I think he is an OK full back, but defo not a midfielder which is where he wants to play)

A get what your saying mate. But I still wouldn't have replaced Mccausland with foster. A manager should never drop an on form player unless they need to be rested. Foster is seasoned but I've never rated him and don't think he'll get a new contract. He'll do for our current situation.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed039's Note - An on form player? MacAusland had never played for Rangers before this season)

Foster is there for this season and perhaps next - he will not be there afterwards.

McAusland needs regular football which he will now get. He will come back stronger, better, fitter and wiser - a good move.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ruggy Bear I've been saying it since September 1st that it would be a bloody shame for Kyle & Gallacher to get dropped & now there both away on loan although I feel Bell should be our keeper Foster should not be our right back.
kfraser I don't think Foster is a top quality player his best season was at Aberdeen after Rangers & they made him captain. I think Mcausland could be top quality and deserves game time with us where better. I agree with Gasparrotto & Mitchell also though ones to watch hope It's the same with Clark.

Agree0 Disagree0

Exactly larkey. It doesn't make sense in football terms and financial terms to put big gall out on loan and pay simonsen a wage. Gall had a good pre season and was solid in the competitive matches played before bell was eligible. As for mcausland, the boy looked the part and Was on great form. Absolutely no need to be dropped then sent out on another loan. Crazy stuff

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed039's Note - Sending Gallacher out on loan was the best thing for him, he is crica 24 years old and has only started a handful of competitive games in his career and this game time will either be the making or breaking of the guy, Bell is first choice and I dont think anybody can argue with that, so it made no sense for Gallacher to spend another season warming a seat on the Ibrox bench)

4 & 5 - not sure why he has done it - I think it may be financial. However the point is Ally has stated it is to improve them as players, and that they will come back stronger, fitter and better players - What happened to In Ally We Trust?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed039's Note - I doubt it is financial, the teams that these guys are loaned out to struggle to pay part time wages never mind a full time loan signing)

@6 mcausland and gall could of developed with the first team this season. When they come back to us, it will be a lot harder for them to get a game as players who are below average, I. e foster will have already cemented a position. I just hope when they come back, they get game time. Did we ever really trust in ally? Could anyone blame us for not?

Agree0 Disagree0

What is not to trust?

Ally is delivering what he promised - a winning team.

Ally is not the one who taken all the monies, it is the directors who have symphoned it all away. The monies Ally has spent is on the field. He has not secreted it away or stolen it.

I go to most home games and am unaware of any fans who do not wish Ally and the team well. It is only on here that I see any dissent of Ally and the team. It is incredulous that after 9 straight wins there are people who want him out. First it was too much salary, then it was not enough savvy with selections, then it was style of play, now - lol, it is not enjoyable to watch ---- all of this is ludicrous - get a grip with reality. Show me another team who has or is going through what we are going through and are able to maintain a 100% record?

Ally is doing an incredible job - long may it continue. Concentrate on who is coming onto the board - not the players or the managers.

Agree0 Disagree0

Really? Allys taken no money out the club? What I find incredulous is a manager taking 800,000 out of a club who just came out of a liquidation and are plying their trade in the lower reaches of Scottish football. And I attend every home match and can say not everyone belts out super ally. You must have some eye sight and hearing to track nearly 50,000, people.

Agree0 Disagree0

N9exactly ruggy bear I used to be sympathetic to ally when he was getting slaughtered my sympathy was because he worked for nowt but now when I think of his wages ffs he should be getting half that even when we reach the top league how much was alec mcleish on I wonder

Agree0 Disagree0

Tmwnn we're on the same boat. Since the start of this whole sorry saga, I've put my faith in mccoist like every other blue nose but as the months go by you just can't help but feel dubious in terms of what matters most to him. His own personal gain or the best interests of rangers. He'll always be a legend and I'd never slander him. just hope he doesn't loose all credibility

Agree0 Disagree0

Ruggy bear I think he is losing his cred as time goes on he is a legend but I think any new board would move him upstairs to bring a more experinced manager to ibrox

If as expected & christian purslow becomes rangers new chief executive then when he starts to file through the mess and fix it he'll start to look at the football side of things and he's very friendly with & rates ict manager terry butcher very highly and will look to make terry butcher the new manager of rangers, if not quickly it'll be when we get back to the scottish premiership, that's what I've heard through the grapevine, what do my other fellow 'gers fans think?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think t. b would be a great appointment. No player would dare undermine or give any less than 110% under his reign. But I just don't see it happening my friend. Think mccoist is here for the long haul.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ally will be here to we reach the top then big tel will be in blue teddy

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry but I do not have any enthusiasum for Terry Butcher as much as I still love his contribution to RFC. Our proiroty is the reinstatement of a credible board before we even think about changing our management team.

Agree0 Disagree0

If Ally needs to move up or on then it would be Billy Davies, for me, without a doubt - oozes class.

Agree0 Disagree0

Op this terry b thing has been mentioned on here lots of times and most people including myself can't see it happening
