Does anyone else think maybe McCoist has been sidelined before the AGM to keep him quiet? If MacDowell has Rangers at heart he will walk ASAP. I really hope this is not a distraction at the AGM and the board are really held accountable and made to give answers and reassurances.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Obviously not ideal but McDowell has to be a huge improvement on McCoist.

Hopefully Super Ally is better at writing his book than he ever was at managing Rangers although I suppose Jim Traynor will be doing of the bulk of the work on that anyway.

since it is gardening leave that he is on and not a pay off like the rest of people that have left with money in there pocket I suspect he will not be silenced

Agree0 Disagree0

I am hoping the board don't go down the " we have several high profile managers of the young and progressive nature in mind" only to reveal an ex player or some other dud from the past??

Agree0 Disagree0

They will be hoping he does not turn up Monday. He won't be at top table but as a major shareholder can ask questions, unless they have bought him out (don't mean that nastily but put him out as opposed to him walking away). Let's hope some other club comes for him and that would remove him from the wage bill.

Agree0 Disagree0

@3) Given that he is still a contracted employee, I would guess that he is still under the confidentiality agreement until his 12 months are up. Putting him on gardening leave buys his silence and if he does start causing trouble, they will have him for breach of contract and sack him with no pay off.

Wooooooo Xmas comes early thank you Santa one down two to go :-) hpfly we bring in a football manager to replace the people we have had for the last 3 years. Thanks again I am so glad I wrote to you direct at the North Pole as I have been trying praying to your mate God but with no luck. My Xmas now and New Year are going to be so much better with hope at last we may finally at the very least play some entertaining exciting football and best part our new Manager has until August to try and repair the damage done to the players footballing confidence. This is everything to a player no matter how talented you are even the wonderful Davie Cooper my favourite Rangers player ever was not at his best when his confidence was low or he was down. That for me has been the biggest damage to out football team The Dud has done with Dud 2 and Baldy. Imagine how it would feel having no coaching or tactics and morale boosting half time talks that actual good managers are all capable of. The Dud and pals were slowly destroying all morale and cohesion in our team.

Great news we just need the board replaced now to complete the exorcism at Rangers that has been needed

Merry Xmas and Happy New Year to all my fellow savvy bears who have seen The Dud for what he actually was the last 3 years. smile on my face for first time in a long time. george

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Cannot believe the level of disrespect that is being directed at McCoist. I agree as a manager he is not the answer but as a Ranger he is is one of us with blue blood. Time everyone shown some respect!

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with ballochblue
Ally McCoist has not been the best manager we have had & the football has been very poor. Having said that I still think we need to conduct our business as supporters with a bit of decorum. The post above thank you Santa is poor as it shows no respect to a guy who has devoted the last 20 years trying his best for our club.
I have worked for the same company for 17 years and last year was a disaster, unfortunately it happens.
Best wishes Ally your loyalty and strength through horrific times shows your love for Rangers. Granted you have been well paid, but show me one fan
Who has not been delirious at some of the goals you scored time after time against Celtic
Best Wishes Ally
Regards

Hmmmm respect? I would respect a Rangers minded man who having made millions out of Rangers already and seeing how desperately poor we have been financially that might have offered to work for a fair salary such as 150k tops! I respect a man who in seeing he has clearly no tactical nous and zero management ability might have thought of Rangers the football team rather than the 3million pounds plus that he and durranty and baldy have drained from our coffers. Respect? I might have respected a man who would not insult his own fans by trying to say he never read his contract lmfao! Respect I might have respected a man who could blend a team of youths from MP with a few seasoned pros rather than spending multi millions to cover for his lack of ability. Respect I might have respected a man who didn't back Whyte, Green, Mather, Wallace and Easdales. Please do not tell me about respect when it comes to a certain mr mccoist he lost that due all these things and some of his snide stuff too like trying to have 3 independent judges outed in full knowledge of the potential dangers that could have put them in from some loony fringe fans.

My opinion has been based totally on hard facts and the EDs on here will tell you my 2. 5 years posts include lots over that time saying let's see how ally does he deserves time. I gave him way too long as I love Rangers and used to trust him. Respect? It needs to be earned not just gifted willy nilly

This is the best thing to happen to my football team in over 2 years no matter what the blind faith brigade will try to say. george

Agree0 Disagree0

251 goals in 418 games in the league, think he did earn respect from all rangers fans. As bad as a manager he may be there is no reason to treat him so badly lol, if you were in your dream job would you leave or would you try to turn things around? He hasn't managed that and has walked like a lot of people wanted but for what? McDowell to take charge because we have no money for a new manager? Real improvement. Not.

Agree0 Disagree0

George we all know he was on a fortune. But the personal mud slinging is harsh. don't recall as much hatred from you regarding all the walkers fron our club with suitcase full of dosh.I actualy hope he hasn't been shushed and going on garden leave indicates he will spill most of the beans and maybe show him in a different light to you mate. All the best for Xmas and new year guy's

Agree0 Disagree0

Whyte and Green I hate ally I just lost all faith in I do not hate him as he was a great player, I just wanted to point out the very serious reasons for my annoyance and he was involved in so much of the bad stuff around the last 3 years. gone now I am moving on though after today's joke AGM I do not have a clue as to the next mess we will be hit with, sorr if I offended true bears I just was at the end of my tether at mccoists destruction of the playing side of team. george

Agree0 Disagree0

George, I'm with you on the respect has to be earned. I lost all respect for Ally after the contemptable and patronising way he showed the fans. From his "I never read my contract" to having a Karaoke Bash after the most humliating cup final defeat in our history to telling everybody how fantastic the supporters have been while trousering £800k and his backing of every CEO appointed. Now he's gone but not forgotten, onwards & upwards now.

Just when you think things are getting better they drop the bombshell that rubbernut McDowell is taking over till the end of the season. sick joke or whit!

I would love to see the Laudrup brothers coming in although I think that's probably unlikely

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Michael ludrup was an person at swasea

21 Dec 2014 23:35:58
brian laudrup for me or ronald deboer but when I had a look at bookmakers ronald deboer wasnt on the list surprisingly it was his brother franck since he managing ajax I would think he wouldn't come who ever is pulling the strings at our club needs to think out the box on next manager decision

Cant help but feel sorry for Ally, he may not have been the best manager but worked under ridiculous circumstances for a bunch of crooks. Hope he is remembered with great fondness by all true Gers fans. The problems have not been resolved, just the cracks papered over.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Well paid for it as well. Great player poor manager

Super ALLYS away!!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Colin McDonald. If he has gone I wonder if he will be at the agm to ask questions of the board, after all he is a shareholder, unless he has sold his shares,

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks for everything ally and good luck in the future, for the best to change managers and get someone in with new ideas and freshen things up, but who will be the lucky one?

Agree0 Disagree0

Glad he is gone but I can't believe McDowall has replaced him until the end of the season. He is just as clueless and gormless as Ally. Hopefully he won't be there long and someone who has a clue is in charge

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Dec 2014 21:06:10
New ideas?get someone with AN idea.
Hope I'm wrong here, but its gonny be McCall I think.

Agree0 Disagree0

Will always remember you Ally as a supreme goalscorer, management was not for you. Hopefully when the transfer window opens we lose about 6 of the impostors shaming the club on the park. Please not Billy Davies, there is something not quite right there. Young manager with ambition and a entertaining style of football.

Agree0 Disagree0

Looks like McDowell as we can't afford to pay Mccoist of therefore can't afford to get someone in so easiest option was to let him go and give kenny the job. Crazy I know but it's the reality of where we are. Fingers crossed he is the better coach of the 3 and maybe has some ideas of his own. First team selection will tell us I think.

Agree0 Disagree0

Stevie. Kenny McDowell done ok with the youngsters in the east of the city, I think maybe he is being giving time to see if he himself is up to the job, as there is no money to replace ally mccoist.

21 Dec 2014 21:48:57
McDowall is a coach even if it was Celic reserves. If I remember correctly he was very well thought of at the time, you could see him at times trying to talk to McCoist and he always blanked him.

KMC was and is highly regarded as a coach, so the silly sausages who act as if they actually know the mans ability are talking thru a hole in their harris, like the rest of us he did what his boss told him, some on here are slaughtering the man already, god almighty is this really Gers fans,? its obvious the hierarchy believe he is capable to get thru the season at a decent wage, Ally is a legend still, even if never a manager, i'm sickened by the vile abuse

To all the ED's who do a fantastic job, keeping the site working trying to instill some semblance of normality, well done have a great Xmas and to your families as well

To all my fellow fans let's hope after the AGM we will be a bit more the wiser? (Although I doubt this very Much) have a great Xmas and new year and let's look forward to a stronger fairer more open Rangers?

Ok cool. "YOU ARE A DUD". now do you mind off and stop bleeding us dry of another million whilst at the same time turning our playing standards to the lowest ever. it does not surprise me you were pissed off at Mark Hateley, you do not want anyone finding you out for being the laziest, good for nothing "manager" (said in loose terms) Rangers FC has ever had.

When you go we will start to rebuild it would be great if you could please take durrant baldie and the board with you to rid us of the cancer we have had for 3 years now.

Merry Xmas you area dud belive us we know we can tell just watching

A genuine Rangers fan, not a blind faith ally person. george

As a gers man who lost my young brother recently, also a TrueBlue, , I implore you to stop using the word cancer m8

Well said tommy45 sorry for your loss.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - cancer has a meaning other than a disease. People are far too sensitive, and yes I have lost very close members of my family to it, but I am not a baby and can understand that it is not aimed at me. About time some of you stopped this whining about the use of the word. I am sorry for anyone who has lost someone to it, but man up for heaven's sake, we can't run around changing everything in case it reminds you of it! There will be reminders in everything you see when it is someone you are close to, nothing will change that.}

21 Dec 2014 19:36:41
Very insensitive of you ed yes we all know it can have a different meaning but when the pain of losing a loved one recently or have someone suffering from this horrible disease then the pain is still very raw after all when it comes down to it the board & manager are less important than loved ones and to suggest we're acting like babies you yourself must have no feelings whatsoever.
r. f

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - or perhaps I just realise that his words were in no way intended to hurt people's feelings and am not a sensitive little baby! Sorry but all this whining is pathetic, it is a word in constant use and you just need to man up.}

Im afraid you are wrong here Ed.
Cancer is far more serious than anything going on at our club! We all know cancerous can be used in other ways but it's disrespectful to use it so casually, when really it's 'only a game' we are talking about with Rangers. There will be a cure for what's going on at Rangers!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - sorry but you need to use a dictionary and man up. Cancer is not just a disease, it is not my fault you lot are not able to understand that.}

My brother was diagnosed with cancer last year came through it and my wife's mother just died of it plus my Aunt that brought me up when my mum worked has had it also this year and happily come through her operation all clear. So using a word such as cancer was a simple choice as it best sums up the state we are in. So please grow up it is a commonly used term in our language to indicate exactly what we had at Rangers, the ED is right people latch onto things like this in a manner to try and make others turn on the OP rather than focus on the point being made. I suppose I better not say The Dud was a car crash waiting to happen in case you assume I am decrying people involved in RTIs :-)

Regardless the serious illness that was affecting Rangers caused by The Dud and his lack of ability has had a major boost to it's health by the surgical removal of The Dud. george

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - cancer does not mean just an illness george, you don't have to explain yourself mate, they should learn how to use a dictionary.}

I know exactly what you mean George! And Ed001 I totally agree with everything you are saying! Maybe if these "people" complaining and playing their wee sympathy violins should maybe think about the people they hurt when they sing their disgusting songs from their vile songbook!
We have all had family members affected by cancer! I know you "people" love playing the victims but FFS grow the feck up!!
Some of you clowns seriously are drama queens! Boo f. king hoo!
Oh by the way Merry Christmas!
George, good luck with your team, even though your posts are usually tripe they are a good read

Eds, merry Christmas and keep up the good work, maybe weed out some of the wee princesses on this thread in future as they contribute heehaw to any real stimulating debate!
