21 Dec 2015 23:53:34
Hey guys just a thought jelavic isn't getting much game time do you reckon he would come back on loan we know he scores for fun up here or is it being to ambitious.

22 Dec 2015 11:40:08
Virtually no chance of this happening, his wages would be a huge stumbling block and also with the Euro's coming up he will be wanting to play at a much higher level than what we are currently at.

22 Dec 2015 22:32:15
As I said was just a thought only reason I said was watching match of the day and saw him also with folk only a few weeks ago saying about Naismith lol ideally we would get the big Latvian in and see what he can do as long as he is better than Nicky Clarke we will be fine.

21 Dec 2015 20:53:44
What i don't get about mw. Kiernan can play dm n seems to be 2 high up park n 2 slow to get back. Think he would fit in that position well n give ball n wilson a shot at the back. let's halliday push up. kenny miller should concentrate on coaching unless he's gna stop huffing and blaming everyone else for the second season in a row. Need to see more off our own youths acc getting games before we lose more of them. 2 many players that don't need to play well every week to garuntee a place in the squad.

22 Dec 2015 09:41:45
Kiernan is covering for two, sometimes three positions and is clearly nervous that if the ball gets past him that it will be one on one with the keeper! Kiernan is slow but he gets no support from either Wilson or Ball, (depending on which one is partnering him) , and he is often left isolated by his two full backs that go up the park, lose the ball, and are then slow at getting back into position.

Tavernier has taken some flak recently because he is off his game but Wallace should not escape criticism. Neither of these players are good, defensively and Wallace is often caught out of position. What is more he is not a leader and that is a problem for a captain. On Saturday as the previous weekend, a Gough, an Amoruso, a John Brown or a Terry Butcher would have been urging his team on, leading by example to secure victory. That simply doesn't happen with Wallace. That is why our three priorities for January must be a top quality, hard as nails midfield player, a ball winning centre back that doesn't take prisoners and a strong centre forward, good in the air and on the ground that can score goals.

22 Dec 2015 15:43:02
Think it's the fullbacks both charging forward leaving too much space. A simple punt up the park into the wide area's results in a race between striker and one defender leaving the other central defender exposed to mid field runners.

This is park football stuff and I genuinely believe that Wilson and Kiernan are being made look bad rather than being as bad as they look.

21 Dec 2015 16:06:39
things that MW needs to do -

1) immediately- stop players from making comments in the press or media about what they think. tell them to keep their opinions to themselves and concentrate on what they are paid to do,
2) in January - find at least 1 central defender over 25 years of age with a decent portfolio
Find a powerhouse defensive midfielder of a similar age a 6ft plus striker who has a decent reputation.
3) practise set pieces and corners till they can do it blindfold

Do all of these things and we are going up, otherwise we could fester in this division for a long time!

21 Dec 2015 17:41:44
100% on the button!
I will wait impatiently for King to provide Warbyrton with the funding to sign three players of the calibre stated as well as the two or three players that are currently trailing at Auchenhowie.

We will now see whether there is any substance to King or whether he is all mouth!

22 Dec 2015 10:05:22
Does it not occur to anyone that with MA still with so much influence neither DK or anyone else will provide anything other than the basic funding to keep the club alive. Its far to much of a risk to invest large sums until MA is completely out the picture.

21 Dec 2015 14:44:11
MW is an inexperienced manager, but a talented one. He knew nothing about the league he was playing in but will learn. He will get the players we need in January.

21 Dec 2015 15:18:45
We need at least four in January.

Another five or six in the summer.

We have a "Lean" squad.

When we are winning and winning well Lean is good. When we are dropping points and playing poorly Lean is weak.

If one or two players are signed in January, it's a missed opportunity. Mcparland, Warburton and Weir should be able to combine their strengths and get at least four in January.

21 Dec 2015 17:24:52
Completely agree. He came in with the intention of playing tippy tappy football, but hopfully has now realised we need some power aswell as skill in Scotland.

22 Dec 2015 13:13:26
He came in to play entertaining football and he has certainly done that, a couple of bad results and as usual the rangers support turns on the manager and players which they were raving about weeks prior.

22 Dec 2015 09:32:02
Thorn

Agree we are a long way off where we need to be and the squad needs beefing up. It was a big mistake to send Gasperrato and Murdoch out on loan. Only 3 centre halves to pick from and it seems no matter which 2 are picked they make mistakes.

21 Dec 2015 13:12:02
For the Hibernian game.

Nicky Law is fit.

Nicky Law starts!

21 Dec 2015 14:10:17
Thorn a guy that speaks his mind, speaks sense, why does he play well when the chips are down, because he knows what Scottish football is all about, roll up the sleves and get stuck in,

OK in previous seasons under bad management he was poor but there is no getting away from it, NL can play well and can put a shift in, and we need guys who can do that against hibs cause it going to be a scrap you can be sure of that!

A just hope its not men V Boys!

21 Dec 2015 14:54:57
A don't know folks did we start hitting a sticky patch when Nicky law got injured? He seems to me to be another scapegoat for the whipping boys.

21 Dec 2015 13:16:09
He isn't the answer and if we are struggling don't expect much from him.

22 Dec 2015 13:14:24
Would play him in the hibs game because hibs won't sit back it will be a bit more open which might suit law, but against smaller teams which play 10 defenders he struggles big time.

22 Dec 2015 09:44:15
Our 'sticky patch' also corresponded with Eustace returning South and I do wonder whether he was a significant benefit to the like of Halliday that is playing out of position to cover the gaping hole in our holding / defensive midfield.

21 Dec 2015 12:00:45
Need serious investment now, time for King to step up and pay.

21 Dec 2015 12:22:52
Stef1 see my post below. Glad you are in the same page as me! Time to wake up and smell the Coffee! 2 players not going to cut it, or squad is poor compared to Hibs a want late 20s early 30s experienced players or we going to b stuck in this league for another year!

21 Dec 2015 13:46:45
People need to realize the club will go bust if we don't get promoted. Fed up of those who criticize the current situation being labled as not being proper fans. Quite the opposite.

Too many fans have got carried away and heralded MW as some all seeing God before he has achieved anything.

I said in the summer that our transfer business was not close to being good enough and that has been clearly proved to be the case. Agree with other poster who thinks MW has underestimated the level of player required.

DK needs to invest the money he has promised or leave the club as his personal war with MA has damaged the club and could destroy it. Like many fans I'm fed up of the fraudsters, criminals and liars.

Hopefully we don't lose to hibs (right now i'd take a draw) and the club takes its last chance to sort itself out.

21 Dec 2015 15:52:22
Luigi, good post with real comments,

I am not sure about us going bust, but it would be a serious blow if we did not go up.

DK and co time to show your real colours, is your blood really Blue, guess we shall find out soon enough.

21 Dec 2015 18:14:48
Luigi Rangers fc will never go bust, we have rich people and supporters that would never allow that, apart from that Scottish football would go down the drain without us, as there is no money without us, the standard would go down, it would be like lower league football without the blue pound, love us or hate us the s.f.a. need a strong rangers playing in our leagues to stop the whole lot going lop sided, IMHO.

21 Dec 2015 21:24:43
Believe me Biily, our club can go bust.
What you must accept is that these "Rangers fans" are only rich because they are clever investors, and there is no way we are a wise investment.
As far as Scottish football is concerned, it is within an ace of being tits up at the moment.

21 Dec 2015 21:38:18
Billyb, rangers fc will never fold. i'm getting on a bit yet but have another 10 year in me barring tragedies, so I will say there is not a chance in hell of our club going down the pan, though if it was down to the last rouges it would more than likely have happened as they were only looking out for themselves, now we have rangers men with money to invest it could never happen, I repeat never happen.

21 Dec 2015 22:03:44
Billyb, its within an ace of going tits up due to us being put into bottom league, though the teams that play in the lower leagues are now upgrading there facilities and clearing there debt due to the supporters that visited there place following our club, the s.f.a. obviously never realised they were cutting there own throats in placing us in the lower leagues, they would not be an ace away from going tits up if the teams playing in the top league had us visiting there place twice a season (at least disregarding cup games).

that's half a million every season for four seasons ( a couple of million, through them listening to certain clubs, clubs that obvoiusly thought they had a better chance of euro football if we were not playing in the same league. I know Dundee Utd and others can brag about being debt free but that's only because they had to sell there best players to survive, and though I want us to get back to top league it would not bother me if we didn't go up this season as there is more chance of them above us going under than there is of us going under.

22 Dec 2015 08:37:26
Billybluenose, I hope you are right and like yourself I have my best years behind me.
You make the case for our benefits to the Scottish game, but that does not pay the bills. In my opinion, the full extent of the damage done by the "rogues" will only be known after the court cases.

22 Dec 2015 09:50:51
For me it's not about Scottish Football, if truth be told I would be quite happy if it disappeared in a puff of smoke tomorrow so long as Rangers was still playing, whether that was in England or in some form of British or European League.

Worryingly, unless there is some real investment in the Club, on the playing front, we will struggle to gain promotion and to be a force in the SPL and it is about time that King put his money where his mouth is.

For me, he must invest seriously in January to give the team the lift that it needs to win the Championship and in the summer he will need to find significantly more to secure a decent position in the Premier League. At present I believe that we are three players short for the first team and need at least two more squad players. In the summer I suspect that we will need the same number again.

All those signed will need to be of a higher standard than the players currently in the starting eleven.

22 Dec 2015 17:13:25
Tom although I agree with most of your post I can't see us ever playing down south, I think it would be more than likely that there will eventually be a change a couple of Belgian, Dutch, Spanish, German clubs French clubs etc, though for that to happen we would maybe need to fail in our hope for promotion, maybe twice, after all itts the clubs with big crowds the football people look at, and I reckon it could come quicker now that blatter, and platini have been found out,

22 Dec 2015 18:00:59
Luigi, Harry reddnap, and the former youth coach at sporting Lisbon seem to think that m. w. has something special about him, both now him quite well, so we will need to wait and find out eh, I would agree with more posts on here if we were sitting mid table, but as we're on top of league I don't see what people are panicking for,

21 Dec 2015 10:45:01
Hate to say I told u so, but I told you so. I said on here weeks ago that we were in trouble, Hibs have better team, squad, experience guys, fighters, men that know the Scottish league, Hibs will win at Ibrox on the 28th. If we don't bring in 4-5 decent experienced players in January then it is hello to the play offs for us and hello defeat in the plays offs, wee need men who can grind out results to get us back up, not little boys or inexperienced guys who don't have the guts for a scrap! Wake up deluded fans who think cause we play nice football and MW says the right things that everything is OK because it is not. Yeh he is a better manager that Ally but does that still make failure to get up this year acceptable! I think not so pull your head out the sand wee need back up big time, now it is time for DK to prove is worth, I only hope for all of our sakes that he backs up his words with actions.

21 Dec 2015 11:32:06
Why don't you just get behind the team and encourage them, show A bit of support. Some fans are actually embarrassing only support the team when we are winning.

21 Dec 2015 12:00:12
That's a fair post M3 and I don't think he isn't supporting the team Cee, he's just calling it as he sees it. The teams we play now do what we did on the way to the UEFA final, they don't try and make a game of it, they absorb the pressure by sitting back on their own 18 yard line and hit us on the break. All that is needed is a player with a bit of pace up against our two donkey's and hey presto, any old clearance turns into a scoring opportunity for them. THAT'S the bit that isn't rocket science. Just like the boxer that leads you on and then wallop.
Let's invite them onto us for a change (which will by default create space) and have a bit more room in which to play. The last few weeks have been disappointing and we need to snap out of this malaise tout suite.

21 Dec 2015 12:21:21
Cee I have supported out team for 22 years, season ticket holder, I have seen plenty, a paid £1000 to watch us get turned over in Manchester even though I knew we would never win that game. But how about you swallow your pride and admit what is clear to see, MW had underestimated what kind of squad her required.

Don't get me wrong he has done well since he come in and got rid of dead wood and brought in good young players, but he is naïve if he really thinks kids and inexperienced young English players from championship or below has what it takes to fight it out in Scotland.

This is not for the faint hearted, this is no walk in the park, and MW best bust DK balls for cash and get in players late 20s early 30s with good solid football knowledge to get us through the harsh winter month were players need to earn there bread or come the summer we will still be in the championship, he will be back in London, and guys like you Cee will soon realise you must get real, pretty football is good to watch but if it does not equal results then its of no good to know one.

A want 3 points every week and back into the Premiership this season and if it means boring 1 nil wins all the way I will take that any day over nice football and losing to Falkirk, droping points against Morton etc, get real Cee points make prizes !

21 Dec 2015 11:34:16
I don't think hibs have a better team or a better squad than us, what they do have is momentum and confidence but we will sign a couple of experienced players in January.

if we don't spend money in January then we are taking a massive gamble that might back fire on us, at the moment we have lost a bit of confidence but a few wins and that will return, I hope fans don't turn on warbs as he's doing a great job plus he's only had one transfer window so if the board finds some much needed cash for January then we will win this league of that I'm 100% certain.

21 Dec 2015 12:56:36
M3. I look forward to reading your posts on the morning of 29th December and again at the end of the season. Also, can anyone tell me which TV station is showing the Rangers v Hibs game?

21 Dec 2015 13:50:04
It's on bt sports Doiger. Good point as well btw.

21 Dec 2015 14:08:13
Doiger I will not be watching it on TV, I hold a season ticket. And I will be the first one on here to gladly eat humble pie on the 29th and at the end of the season if I am proven wrong, but I have been saying it for at least 8 wks that we on the way down and hibs on the way up and so far I have been proven correct in my views. I hope that you can gladly ram my words back down my throat but the sad thing is, I don't think u will have that chance too.

the funny thing was after we lost to Hibs at Easter road I came on here and said that hibs were going to pip us, and the responses I go was, they will hit a blip, they will lose there manager, someone will buy Cummings so it will be fine. Am sorry but I am not waiting around for Hibs to do us the favour.

Stubbs has been in the job a year longer, has the better squad, age and experaince, guys in the know about the Scottish game. We have a bunch of young inexperienced boys who have been together 4-5 months and we think that we are going to walk this league, I think not.

And one last comment. what has DW imput into this squad is he just MW yes man? Why did walter smith bring in a guy like DW? Stability, experience, wise head, knew the tough Scottish league, so you would think that he would have gave MW a heads up.

It infuriates me that guys think cause we won what 12 games or something that we were going to walk it! points make prizes not 65% possession that means hee haw at the end of 90mins if you get beat!

21 Dec 2015 13:21:19
Cee

As fans we are entitled to voice our concerns. I would also point out that the fans have backed the team magnificently this season and a lot of the players and the management team have commented on it.

21 Dec 2015 15:39:29
Thanks The Seeker, BT Sport it is. M3, fair enough, let's wait and see shall we? I live in the south of England so holding a season ticket isn't viable for me right now but I watch the Gers when I can, a team I've supported for 53 years. I'll be in Tenerife just after Christmas and will watch in the fabulous Ibrox Bar in Tenerife, big Georgie Mac's bar, so it will be like Govan but with sunshine lol. Cheers.

21 Dec 2015 15:49:16
Doiger no hard feelings sir, appreciated that the bears have followers from all over, at the game or not is irrelevant to me. I like that we can all voice our thoughts to each other, that is what it is all about. Am not happy your in Tenerife and am going to be stuck in Glasgow, I strongly object to that one haha! All the best and I shall be back on here on the 29th regardless of the result and if the bears win I will happily take some well deserved medicine from my fellow bears. Happy Xmas to all WATP, lest we forget!

21 Dec 2015 14:07:27
The difference is in the midfield where they have a bit of dig in there, namely McGinn. Also Cummings needs one or two chances where Waghorn needs 7 or 8.Let's be honest we've been rotten at the back even when we were flying at the start but the goals papered over it, as they do. Let's hope we can make a serious bid for Hemmings and Vaulks because Hibs won't sell us McGinn.

22 Dec 2015 08:39:17
Merry Christmas to you too M3.

22 Dec 2015 10:01:32
Cee, I appreciate what you are saying but most if not all of us have supported Rangers through the bad times as well as the good times and I guess that in general we are extremely frustrated by the shambolic way our Club has been systematically destroyed by people that were never Rangers supporters over what is now a significant number of years.

We had hope, when King and Co took control, men that are seen as Rangers Supporters, and we were delighted that they secured a good well respected manager that plays good football.

Unfortunately, since day one, while Mr King has spoken a lot about how much he will invest in the team and about the need to fast track that investment into the playing staff, we have seen little proof of that.

Warburton is to be congratulated for getting us to where we are at present and he is also to be complimented on finding some decent quality players at what can only be termed as bargain basement prices however, to progress, serious money needs to be spent in January to secure players for the positions where we are vulnerable and in the summer we need to see additional, serious monies spent to secure a team that can win the SPL.

Yes we have some good youngsters now developing but the malaise that has been in our Club since the first season of McCoist's managerial appointment and before, through the mismanagement of the Club off the Park and the lack of investment in youth on it, is now putting us well behind the competition.

22 Dec 2015 18:10:25
Tom I've been a ticket holder for 48 years so can remember good and not soo good times, I've got to disagree with you in regards Mr king he has brought in coaching staff, quite a few new faces dawn our place, as regards investing in the team we will just need to wait and see who comes in this window (m.w. 2nd window)

I don't think Mr king could have played his hand in a better fashion, would you rather he had brought in 20 odd players in the window past? Leaving m. w. to try getting them all to gel together in the space of 5 month, I think all is going to plan, only fools rush in where angels fear to tread,

21 Dec 2015 10:42:38
Maybe it is the season for some of the less fancied teams in the UK to do well. Leicester City and Brighton in England are great examples and in Scotland, Falkirk and St. Johnstone have been excellent this season. So too have Hibs who some had written off even before the season started. Even our mates Celtic are only 1 point clear at the top of the SPL table. Rangers are a team in transition with a young average age. To be top of the league at this stage is pretty damn good in my opinion. We've no divine right to turn up and win every game. Warburton will get it right and there is a long, long way to go until the end of the season.

21 Dec 2015 13:53:54
Couldn't agree more. People ready to press the panic button. Of course the team is going to go a rough spell. It doesn't mean they suddenly become bad players. People need to get real. The manager has worked wonders on a tight budget. A couple of shrewd additions in January would be good but I for one will not panic. Hibs are not a great side believe me.

21 Dec 2015 09:08:56
I'm starting to think Celtic are missing us that much that they r starting to do us favours. Buying hibs "best" player in Allan, then ruling out any loans to them.

23 Dec 2015 23:21:11
Albertz it's not so much us they miss, it's the 10 million they have lost since we were put in bottem tier, (lawells words not mine) every team and indeed the s. f. a. are missing the blue pound, t. v. money, struggled to get league Sponsership money,

Celtic are the only club to have mentioned it, them Milne of Aberdeen spoke up, I also think the talk of league reconstruction is more to favour Dundee Utd than us, cause it's funny how league reconstruction was only mentioned once Dundee Utd look to be in trouble to stay up, my opinion only.

21 Dec 2015 07:51:16
I don't understand all the negative posts regarding the team right now, fair enough we are going through a bad spell but cmon, it's the same when I'm at the games and you've got guys absolutely slating wee Barrie McKay when he tries to beat a player and it doesn't work out, we should be supporting these players not giving them a abuse, it's disgusting. a lot of our fans are stuck in the dark ages, remember the absolute drose we have played for the last 3 seasons then ask yourself what you prefer. Warburton has built this team in 1 transfer window on a very modest budget. We will win the league this season and I think we will still win it comfortably. I trust Warburton 100%.

21 Dec 2015 09:23:24
Totally agree.

21 Dec 2015 09:34:34
Fraser 91 at last a supporter that sees the bigger picture 100% agree with you we are a new team with a new manager. we have had a couple of below par performances lately but this is when the team needs our support more than ever. to be the 12th Man. i think that some fans have short memories the 2 defeats this season was more of individual errors than getting played of the park also we have beat the 2 teams in question this season so I don't believe that they are better than us. I also think we will win this league with a bit to spare. lookin forward to mon not dreading it. hibs are getting the rub of the green just now but over a season it balances its self out. They are not bayern Munich as some on here would have us believeing and will make it all the more sweeter to beat them on mon to hear there manager afterwords as I think he lacks some dignity and can't hide his loath of our club he can't even say the word Rangers. So let's give the team our full backin there's no need to panic. as our greatest manager said let the others come after us we welcome the chase.

{Ed001's Note - Stubbs doesn't loathe Rangers at all, it is just a way of getting the crowd and team behind him by doing that kind of thing. It works as well, which is the sad part.}

21 Dec 2015 10:25:23
I agree we should be getting behind the team! but a lot of fickle fans getting to carried away am sure we will get a few additions into the club next month and go on and win the league.

21 Dec 2015 11:33:13
Rangers fans don't know how to support the team, that would mean stop abusing players which is all they want to do.

21 Dec 2015 13:56:04
Hate to disagree Ed but I think you'll find that Stubbs does hate our club. No question.

{Ed001's Note - dislikes yes, hates, I doubt he is that much of childish moron.}

21 Dec 2015 15:26:20
Point taken.
