Just to get away from all things EGM. Well done SPFL and Scottish Football fans for voting Jay Beatty's penalty as the goal of the month. Seeing the joy on the boys face when he found out he won brought a smile to this life long Gers fan. Football is a game to be enjoyed and it was nice to be reminded of this fact.

Totally agreed

Agree0 Disagree0

Good morning fellow bears, another day closer to getting our club back.sundaymail saying 3 bears issued statement regarding leach talking a load of b******* regarding there offer being accepted.is this realy the best the board can do?childish lies, to win the votes.to even say they sh themselves with there offer being accepted, and for the bears to say only one of them, george leham having brief contact with him.the board realy are up the creek without a paddle if that's the they can come up with, school yard politics.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would not count the chickens before they hatch they could be twists and turns yet still a lot of shares changing hands yet ashley and co won't walk away quitely and without a fight

Agree0 Disagree0

Bigwull.see where your cumin from. but king made a big play here. the biggest play you can make. so the board shouldn't underestemate him.its simple maths realy, get king in, shares go up, keep the clowns shares go down.i am not a mathmeatician but I no which horse I would back if I wanted a return on my investment.and I don't doubt for a minute king and board lobbied other shareholders.as causious as I feel abt this, its the first ray of hope I can say has given me optomism in this dragged out war, but I have to seze it.my heart ruling my head on this.

Agree0 Disagree0

Its not what horse u would back or anything about share prices (they probably never be anymore than what they are now) its about what tricks the dubious share holders have up there sleeve u can have all the pledges of votes in the world they are no good till the votes are counted

All the posts about sectarian singing are really interesting. I remember as a 16-year old (in the mid 1960s) following Rangers and getting on the coach from my home city of Dundee to Rangers games (my father was on Rangers books around WWI time before you ask!). The older fans were all singing sectarian bile. I joined in but looking back, didn't have a clue what I was talking about. I have followed Rangers ever since and will always do but I too realise the folly of continuing to sing these songs. I'm pro-British as well as Scottish and I can't stand the pro-Irish/pro-IRA claptrap sung by Celtic followers but I do think the press in the UK (not just Scotland) are anti-Rangers and pro-left wing. God save us from the political left. It seems Celtic can do no wrong as far as the media is concerned. Clearly, the people who write about them have never been close to an Old Firm clash! However, we must grow up and clean up our act and sing the Blue Sea of Ibrox or the Penny Arcade and Follow Follow, without the religious venom.

Worry about what our club an fans are doing not there's an totally disagree with u about anti-Rangers utter bull

Agree0 Disagree0

Gammet101. Your right to disagree obviously, but I think I'm right. So not utter bull, just 'I don't agree', especially in the context of the conversation. And my mistake, I meant to refer to my grandfather, not father on Rangers books!

Your right doiger but take the follow follow a brilliant song when song properly, but clowns that sing the billy boys will always add the unsavoury bits to it, I think rangers as a club have tried to stop the sectarian singing but since administration and liquidation the songs seemed to have made a unwelcome comeback, take the semi final I gringed when I heard the billy boys being belted out,

Gannet would you say Stan collymore is anti rangers?

Agree0 Disagree0

Celtic and rangers fans both need to stop thinking there is an agenda against then both clubs are treated the same and if the fans behaved there would be no need for bad publicity. All because of religions and stuff that happened hundreds of years ago. Oh life would be simple if I had just not loved football.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Feb 2015 18:33:17
Stan collymore is a no mark wife beater

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - what does that have to do with it? You can't ignore a good point because you don't like who says it. All that matters is whether he was right, not what kind of scum he is. And make no mistake, he is a vile piece of turd, but that is irrelevant to whether or not he has a point.}

21 Feb 2015 18:34:30
Ceexxx absolut correct paranoid fans we have now not got a brain between them

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Feb 2015 19:17:23
Stan collymore is anti rangers and anti British his comments prove that, it wasn't that long ago he was telling northern ireland protestants to fxxk off back to britain and disregarding the sacrifice of British soldiers in the Falklands, ed his comments about the billy boys song was correct but it wasn't said in an attempt to wipe out sectarianism it was said to wind up rangers fans,

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - so? If it was right that is all that matters. Stop whining.}

For the first time since I came on this board I fully agree with a thread. It seems that the majority are against the imbecilic sectarian singing. That and the right result at the EGM almost makes me feel optimistic for the first time in 4yrs

Agree0 Disagree0

Unfortunetly we have many like them who claim to be rangers supporters but I hasten to add so do our friends in the east end who still fly the the irish flag without any reprimands as the saying goes it takes 2 to tango

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Feb 2015 22:39:48
Ed001 what's your problem they guy asked if I thought collymore was anti-Rangers an I answered the question with what I thought of him so don't go questioning me for no reason

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - perhaps you should stop whining like a small child and answer the question he asked then, instead of trying to bring Collymore's antics into the discussion for no reason. You are so full of your own opinion that you think no one can question it? Who do you think you are? Do you think you are so special that no one has a right to question you? Especially when you won't even answer a straight question, just hide away from the issue like a politician. You are so happy to shove your opinion down everyone's throat yet you think it can't be questioned? What is wrong with you? People like you are why forums end up in childish bickering, you just shout over everyone instead of having a discussion and bitch at anyone who doesn't just go along with what you have to say, no matter how irrelevant it is.}

Gannet that is right but what I have posted is fact celtic have offically done nothing to defuse anything they make noises about the green brigade but back down because of falling attendances

Agree0 Disagree0

Stan is a male katie Hopkins says stuff for a reaction and attention, we know what he is and he is not worthy of a thread on here

Heartening to see so many condemning it, we all get tarred by the Neanderthals. Sometimes I think the vested interests are quite happy with it , the old David and conquer , keep the common man fighting amongst themselves instead of looking upwards at our self serving politicians. I won't be the last guy to think it suits the 'old firm' owners either - they probably see it as an integral part of the rivalry giving it the' X' factor. Maybe we should all be marched around am A&E dept on a game night to dispel any 'romance'
Here's hoping you get rid of your robbing board, and get back up to the premier league the slow way with your youth (you had some good young guys there) HH joe

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Feb 2015 09:15:31
Bigwull, not entirely true. In 2013 after the fir park incident they suspended over 100 people and disbanded the section of the green brigade. Not exactly doing nothing, and I remember it because when it was in the papers the green brigade went mental and I thought for the very first time "well done the celtic board for standing up to trouble fans"

Agree0 Disagree0

Aye but then they backed down our friends from the east end may make statements about this or that but at the end of the day they stick together like claggy toffee

Agree0 Disagree0

Stan collymore has been always been conceited and big headed but he is not worthy of even a mention in any contextlet him an bt sort out there own problems we have enough of our own to bother about him

Agree0 Disagree0

Bigwull, spot on about collybore, he's the type of guy who probably kisses the mirror goodnight, loves the sound of his own voice, Rangers fans don't need to be worrying about the likes of him, he will find something/someone else to pick on next week.

I hope u are identified and banned from our club for ever. a bit like this current board, we do not need u. we do not want u, u will not be missed. so cheerio

Sectarianism is wrong no matter where it comes from, but it seems rangers fans get picked on more than other teams especially celtic, there wasn't as much talking when the green brigade where getting a song into the UK charts glorifying IRA terrorists called roll of honour, are how about when they where unfurling a large image of bobby sands a convicted terrorist at celtic park, being from Northern Ireland I find any reference to the IRA highly offensive! So yes the fans singing the unacceptable billy boys let all rangers fans down, but the press need to be more even handed sectarianism and bigotry are not just a rangers problem

Agree0 Disagree0

Could not agree more. The white horse with the Dutchman on it, the guarding of walls and the BBoys are relics of a bygone age and have no place in football, especially Ibrox. If the club want to seriously move onwards and upwards then this has to go. There may be people who want to cling on to this and that is their prerogative, but not in the national and European football environment.

Agree0 Disagree0

OP Irony at its cruellest. You missed an L.

21 Feb 2015 15:27:49
I have to disagree with you password derrys walls is not a sectarian song not once in the song does it mention religion!

Agree0 Disagree0

2015 and the debate about sectarianism is still going on, I'm 47 years old and I can still recall sectarianism going on as far back as I can remember, I can't believe we are still talking about it in this day and age. I don't care what fans of other teams sing about or what flags they fly etc, that is their problem to deal with, we as Rangers fans have got to stand together and get our own house in order by ridding our club of the bigots who continue to shame our club, please please realize that there are people in our country as well as other countries who live to have a pop at Rangers, let's not give them the opportunity, We can still be loud and proud without all the religious rubbish. The day can't come quick enough for me when it's just football we are are all talking about.

Agree0 Disagree0

If a bomb goes off and no one's around to hear it does it make a noise? Just ignore the clowns and ban them forever. I hate all religions/faith so called protestants and Catholics do my box in when they break there faith everyday probably.

Gkk ) very witty mate made me chuckle.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Feb 2015 14:06:46
A wee rant, before the pub.

I am totally against sectarianism.

I am totally against bigotry.

I am totally against racism.

Our football needs to be cleaned up from top to bottom. It does not need points being scored against each other. The definitions about those three I listed have to be clear and open.

There was sectarian singing last night, however there was also sectarian singing at Parkhead the night before.

If you are drunk you should not be allowed into the football ground. If you shout sectarian insults or the like you should be removed - end of.

It seems to me that Rangers are a club that everyone is taking a pop at. Daily Record columnist, Des McKeown has a page about Rangers and clearly shows a photo of the fans with a Union Jack being flown by a fan - What is wrong with a Union Jack? It is this sort of left of centre that I do not like. Celtic fly a tri-colour, their fans sing about the IRA and whatever, they do not have silence for our soldiers - should I go on?

What I am saying is that it happens all over the bloody place - at all clubs === Hibs, Hearts, Dundee (both) and oh Aberdeen whose fans sing some of the most heineous songs you will ever hear, but it seems that we are all only interested in what happens with Rangers.

I do hope that the new regime sets out it's stall and has a pop at thjose who seem disingenerous in the extreme to us.

Imagine for a moment if Rangers fans had put up a banner about Celtic it would have been lambasted by all and sundry and would have sectarian in the extreme, but they do it and it is a laff. Putting an advert in the Herald is a laff?? That was sectarian in all in forms and guises. I was so shocked to see that advert. I felt so hurt that Rangers had fallen so far, that Celtic where allowed to trample all over them without a semblance of outrage from the media. The Herald should hang it's head in shame.

Ed - please post this. It is my feelings at the moment.

I am now away for a few pints - hic!

God Bless all fans The Good Rangers fans and The Good Celtic Fans. To hell with those that bring shame to bothe clubs!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I am going to Ibrox tomorrow to see the youth play in the cup.

Hope to see a good turnout!

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Feb 2015 13:30:41
refreshing to see that some people are coming out strongly against alleged sectarian singing but staggered that somebody would attempt to explain this behaviour by reference to media hyping. This stuff existed long before modern media methods and technologies and must be strongly condemned, irrespective of which groups of supporters are engaging in this unacceptable behaviour. As far as I am concerned, it is wrong, regardless of being blue or green

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agree completely OP.

Last night we had to chance to shine as fans, we could have for ninety minutes showed support by singing actual Rangers songs but no, a bunch of eejits decided that with the media spotlight on us they would do everything they could to play right into Stan Collymore's hands.

Exactly what he wanted to happen. Watch this story escalate and more bad press across nationally for the club.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Feb 2015 12:09:41
Some of the posts on here the day are a bit depressing and I agree that certain songs are a bit backward but this element of hate between Rangers and celtic Protestant and catholic is fueled by media because the old firm is the biggest rivalry in the world it wouldn't be without the hate no one would watch it for the football who would care? It's all about the ugliness of it all and without it, it's just another Derby.

21 Feb 2015 13:11:05
Tut tut, the atmosphere can still be incredible without the bile being spouted!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Spot on LS and if it does lose some of it's edge without the brain dead on either side then so be it. Life for the emergency services and women and children cowering at home will be better. And that is a lot more important than a football result for the biggots on both sides. Just ask the wee 10 year old who received a bottle in the face for supporting his team.

Agree0 Disagree0

The songs are totally wrong but nowadays there really not so much animosity away from football between the religions and if its resticted to some songs from both sides of the divide its a whole lot better than it was 25/35 years ago when the arrests after old firm games could go into the hundreds

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Feb 2015 09:13:07
By all accounts a much better show last night, though I wasn't able to watch the match. It just shows that the like of Murdoch and Hutton can produce the goods. Why didn't McCoist give them a break? The big boost will be when we win the EGM and if King & co appoint a new manager. Reading the reaction to Tim Sherwood's appointment at Aston Villa, apparently he has given the whole place a huge lift. Surely something similar would happen if we appointed somebody like McCall or Davies until the end of the season? As for catching Hearts, let's be realistic. We should be good enough to secure 2nd place and then take our chances in the play-offs. Our next four league games are against Falkirk, Cowdenbeath, Queen of the South and Livingston. Maximum points there might change things. Hearts aren't looking as swashbuckling and confident as they were and today's game away to QOS could be telling. Finally, for God's sake can all the people who keep singing and swearing especially when TV cameras are present just go away. We don't need any more hassle right now. Roll on the EGM. WATP.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Doiger --- good post especially re. the mindless supporters hell bent on destroying our club. I can see it now ---- Dave King takes over --- We manage somehow to win promotion then get deducted ten or fifteen points and down we go again.
These people do not seem to understand that the world of Glasgow Rangers has moved on to such an extent that it is now totally embarrassing to listen to them. They refuse to change their ways and so they, with their sectarian songs, will sound the death knell of our club in European competition.

Agree0 Disagree0

@OP, McCoist stood by " wee Blackie " no matter what. McDowell has the guts to bench him. Hutton is proving Ally wrong.

Murdoch would never have got a look in and we all know full well we lost Telfer due the policy of not risking youth. Okay Mcleod and Aird were given their chances but that's where it ended. I think McDowell has reduced the average age of the team by about 10 years!

Agree0 Disagree0

Hutton proving ally wrong? Hutton played 33 times when we were in the 3rd division and 13 last season, he is a player prone to injury, he's played 8 times this season and only had one game he can shout about

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Feb 2015 08:33:43
Just seen we have been reported for the singing last night by the match delegate now in this day an age is there any real need to be singing these song an bring more shame on our club thes me fans need to take a hard good look in the mirror they are knuckle staggers that we don't need we have enough problems to deal with rant over!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

21 Feb 2015 09:00:10
Only way to stop this is giving these idiots a life ban from scottish football grounds. No one wants them in their grounds. Use the cameras, identify them and ban them.

Agree0 Disagree0

The so called Rangers fans who whio these vile songs are not fans of the club, they are self serving idiots who can only express themselves with drink and in a large group.
The police can pick them out and Rangers can give them a life ban, the problem is however how do the away clubs administer life bans for opposing teams - it is a problem?

On the plus side well done to the youth - give them ALL a chance to shine - it cannot get any worse.

In defence of Big Jig - we all know he is past his best, he knows it as well, after all he is 37! But the question is who will lead the team?

Getting nearer to that date - it is all I think about. It is driving me crazeee!

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Feb 2015 09:55:31
@1 Agree totally, in this day and age it should not be hard to weed them out. It just comes down to if the club want to or not. I think there's traditionally been a fear to act amongst various boards. They've been to scared to alienate the support for fear of loosing cash so they just turn a blind eye. The current board have bigger fish to fry and won't be interested in dealing with the issue as they couldn't care less. let's hope a new board come with a set of balls and create a new club culture to be proud off. These 1d10ts are at best an embarrassment and at worst dangerous.

Agree0 Disagree0

Given the misrepresentation by the mhedia of the Collymore story I am absolutely disgusted that the knuckle draggers within our support sang sectarian and racist bile in the latter stages of the game and played right into the hands of the press. I would urge anyone within the decent majority of our fans to point these reprebates out to the police or stewards when you witness it. The sooner we rid our support of these vermin the better.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Feb 2015 11:31:58
If the police can pick them out then the courts shd be banning them from all games in Scotland not just Rangers 1s they are uneducated people who think they are hard men singing these songs of hate just look at the shame those chelsea fans brought on there club worldwide we don't want this at ibrox or any away ground

Agree0 Disagree0

It sadens me to think that at time where we need to build bridges and getting ourselves noticed the same people keep turning up and spouting the same of bile. Will they only be happy when the book gets thrown at us. Time to name and shame every week. What happened to the police videoing away fans when there's bother. Surely the old bill and rangers can get together and out these people.

I totally agree Andy mac an absolute legend for our club some of the drivel av read has been terrible towards this man mostly from I am George who cannot be a true blue with some of the tripe he writes about ally

Agree0 Disagree0

Aye he does make you wonder were he is coming fae.

Agree0 Disagree0

I have been a Rangers fan 50 years first game Morton in 1967

I was a season ticket holder 25 years until I moved to London

It doesn't mean you are a tim or not a Bear to despise a person you see destroying your club. I couldn't care less how great he was as a player he has taken 3.2MILLION POUNDS out of Rangers when we are being forced to take loans of ashley and need every penny we can get. He supported Whyte, Green, Mather, Easdales and everyone that gave him his wage. He destroyed everything in Rangers footballing wise from youth to scouting and he made fans walk away from Ibrox in their thousands with the worst standard of football in 142 years.
Why the hell would I give my support to a person that did all of the above and worse is still trousering over a million to sit at home laughing all the way to the bank, he couldn't even walk away as a multi millionaire and help lower Rangers financial strain by insisting on full payment of his 12 months wages at 800k, which he never read about in his contract lolol

So before you start with your insults about my love of Rangers try getting real about EXACTLY what The Salary has been involved in at Rangers and his level of complicity in all the dodgy goings on at Rangers since Whyte arrived . you saying he knew nothing? He turned a blind eye?

I am one of thousands of Rangers fans that have seen through the cheeky chappie s**te a long time ago and we all regard The Salary as the worst thing to happen to Rangers in the last 3 years on a par with Green, Whyte and current board

I stand out as I am vocal about it and I list all the cold hard facts about him which still some blind faith superally fans can't accept.

i am george

Agree with you 100 percent george,

Agree0 Disagree0

I remember Ally as a great goal scorer and one who generally did well against Celtic in an expensive team who had a lot of success. Goalscorer of the highest quality absolutely, legend possibly more debatable? Not quite a Henrick Larsonn who probably had a higher goals per game ratio but also produced some flair and provided lots of opportunities for others.
He would do his cause some good if he gave a chunk of his £14,000 a week to Rangers First or the RST to buy some shares. But that would take some bottle and sacrifice in case the woeful board tried to illegally stop his pay off.

Agree0 Disagree0

I am george, spot on .
Well said, I have said before when the dust finally settles on this disastrous period for our club Ally will be shown to be our worst ever manager.

Agree0 Disagree0

Never said you wasnae a blue nose just said l didnae ga were you come fae at times and l stand by that.

Agree0 Disagree0

George would you walk out on your job because your workmates didn't like you? If you got a 800k contract per year would you just walk away from that? Of course you would cause you've been a fan for 50 years. Hmmmm

We all know the TV audience tonight would be watching & listening. It Brings more trouble on the club at a critical time & more bad press is all we fuc#ing need.!!Disgusted as it continues with the "There awe against us, kick us when down, revenge mob". Belting out banned songs at the top of there lungs ain't going to help or change bloody nothing.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agree 100%!!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Another day, another stick to beat Rangers with, why don't some fans never learn, there's no denying that probably at least 99.9 per cent of Rangers fans have sung the songs at some point on their life's, but I also believe a lot of fans have grown up a bit and don't bother with all that rubbish now, a lot of the younger fans in our support probably don't even know what their singing about. There's not a finer scene when Ibrox is in full voice signing the likes of penny arcade and the blue sea of Ibrox, we don't need the battle songs to be heard.

Agree0 Disagree0

I can remember walking home from school and one of the guys I was with shouting 'fen##n illegitimates' to the opposite school kids. Thing was I remember thinking wait a minute WE are the Catholic school. My point? We were in primary school, most people with a brain grow out of this stuff, and it's to our external shame as a society that schoolkikds where and still are subjected to the 'what team / do you siupport - wrong answer meaning a doing. This is learned behaviour folks

My hope when we went into liquidation was that this was THE opportunity to return as a new, improved Rangers. A Rangers that left all this bigoted sh#te in the past. A Rangers that allowed me to follow and be proud of every aspect of the club. This nasty, moronic element was always part of my club that made me feel uncomfortable and it saddens me to see young kids being brought up on a diet of this bile. It shames not only the club but our country too. We're supposed to be the best wee country in the world; warm, friendly and everyone loving our charm the world over. Increasingly all I see is a bitter wee cesspool of a country, full of baseless hatred and I'm afraid a large swathe of the Rangers support have to accept responsibility for reinforcing this backward mentality. I've never been happier to accept my decision to accept I no longer have a club. At least I don't have to feel guilty by association. Give me a shout if a new Rangers fit for modern society appear. Until then I'll continue to read posts and take solace from the many decent minded Rangers fans on here.

Agree0 Disagree0

Very true HH Joe
At the end of the day we all know someone in our lives who support another team than the one we do, who cares, I am very proud to be a Rangers fan, but I also have members of my family and friends who are Celtic fans, and I certainly don't want to be up to my knees in their blood, or anyone elses blood, at the end of the day we are all only supporting a football team, wether it be Rangers, Celtic, Elgin city, or whoever, if I'm standing in a pub and get talking to someone or any walk in life I don't ask them what team they support, or what school they went to, if I ever did do that then I would just give up.The most heart warming story of the week has to be the young lad jay winning goal of the month, that's the kind of stories we need associated with football.

Agree0 Disagree0

5) Elgin city!, you've taken that too far foreverinbluejeans

Agree0 Disagree0

I know mate, it was either them or Forfar, but I've got Elgin on my coupon today, so their name was in my head, they better not let me down now.

Agree0 Disagree0

After all we have been through at the hands of spivs and rip off merchants, its sad that our own so called supporters are letting the club down so badly with their awful songs, how can we possibly win any PR battle with these people continually dragging the club down. We really need to sort this out .
