22 Apr 2016 20:05:32
For me in scotland i would try get jordon magee and callum paterson. bougerra on a free.

22 Apr 2016 17:56:25
Why not John Terry on a free he's loaded so does nae need money and would really annoy the manky mob so start the rumour lol.

22 Apr 2016 18:59:20
Quite simply because john Terry will never play in scotland and he might be loaded but that guy loves a pound note so there isn't a chance he would come here he will go to who offers most money if he leaves chelsea.

22 Apr 2016 20:42:04
I think people get the wrong idea of Terry. Fair enough it was a shoddy move that he done to Bridges but apart from that he's been a loyal servant to the Club he loves and a great Captain in the process. I always thought he comes across as a good football man. And let's face it he would be the best defender that's played up here for a long time. If he would come I would take him no probs. Maybe the lure of 4 old firm games would be enough at this stage in his career.

22 Apr 2016 21:16:07
And he's a celtic supporter no thanks he's a total toss pot.

22 Apr 2016 21:31:07
I heard a wee whisper Terry is an admirer of the dark side.

22 Apr 2016 22:50:01
There is no chance he will come up here.

23 Apr 2016 07:18:54
I'm pretty sure he supports chelsea.

23 Apr 2016 08:06:28
I think he is a Chelsea fan and although he maybe prefers Celtic to us I doubt he has any strong feelings towards them. Don't think of he was genuinely interested in coming north that would have played a significant part in where he would go.

23 Apr 2016 08:29:13
Firstly, I cannot believe that people are talking about this as if it is a reality.

Secondly, he is a Ce**ic supporter. Really? Even if he was, and he isn't, is this something that stands in the way of signing for Rangers these days? I am pretty sure I could name a few Ce**ic supporters who have played for Rangers. One in particular springs to mind; he was sitting next to Le**on and Neil McCann on Sunday laughing at the result. And he WAS a Ce**ic man through and through.

23 Apr 2016 08:42:13
JFC

Sure McCann supported them too.

23 Apr 2016 11:15:52
Biffo,

You are right, but I didn't want to make them sound too popular.

23 Apr 2016 08:36:48
why should we sign j terry to give him a last payday there will be many good young centre backs just waiting to be picked up and i am sure the hat and his scouts have some in mind rather than bandy names about i am quite happy to sit back and wait to see who the club signs and as far as boughera goes that also would be a backward move let the management team get on with it so far they have been 100% up till now.

23 Apr 2016 16:11:42
Not necessarily saying sign him but a CB of that stature should be welcome at Ibrox regardless of who he supports.

23 Apr 2016 14:40:00
Ask a certain Mr Ferdinand about him. Ask Wayne bridge. Ask villas boas or Jose about him. Not kind of person we need. Chelsea want him gone because he causes trouble if he doesn't get his own way.

22 Apr 2016 15:36:11
Crooks voted 4th best play in the league and Windas 10th best player in the league and we have snapped both up on Pre Contracts, another astute piece of business from MW/ DW and DK.

Lets hope both turn it on again for the Blues next season. I have a good feeling that they will fit in seamlessly at the bears.

Can only wonder what other gems McPartland has uncovered for us! Good times for the bears £5m will go very far with the guys that we have in charge!

22 Apr 2016 16:34:48
Let's see how they perform for us before lavishing praise on either of them. Plenty of players who have played well for other clubs haven't cut it with either of the old firm clubs.

22 Apr 2016 16:50:25
But none the Hat has found have so far Biffo.

22 Apr 2016 16:45:09
I hope these lads prove to be good signings but think best not to heap too much pressure on them.

Playing in league 2 in front of small crowds is a different ball game to all that comes with playing for a major club. Might take them a while to adapt.

22 Apr 2016 18:44:13
OP, 2 words "league two"

22 Apr 2016 19:57:28
Recbob

Although most of his signings have done extremely well think there have been a few average ones. Keeper average and Wilson and Kiernan been poor also.

22 Apr 2016 20:04:44
English League Two is better that the Scottish Championship so I would expect the top 10 players in that league would have the potential to play at a higher standard than we generally see anywhere in Scotland!

22 Apr 2016 20:46:40
Fair play Biffo but I think your being a bit harsh personally. I think the whole teams been guilty of switching off a bit recently defensively. But a wouldn't say Any of the three have been poor as such. I do think we need back up in all their positions but I think all 3 should at least be given a chance next year, they've earned it in my opinion.
I think the manager has done remarkably well in the transfer market, convincing anyone to come to Scottish Championship must take some doing.

22 Apr 2016 22:51:30
Recbob

Fair enough.

23 Apr 2016 02:07:25
Luigi you said "Playing in league 2 in front of small crowds is a different ball game to all that comes with playing for a major club. Might take them a while to adapt. " can you give me an idea as to the size of the small crowds and compare them with the current average crowd size in the SPL - you are trying ti suggest that they are currently playing in front of 2 men and a dog and will be overawed with the "huge crowds" in the SPL - The majority of the English League 2 clubs have a more professional set up than the bottom 6 of the SPL - We are getting 2 very young and exciting professional footballers from Accrington who will relish the environment of Glasgow Rangers.

23 Apr 2016 08:35:12
Da bhoybhoy 2 words 'semi final'
Another 2 words 'sacked manager'
yet another 2 words 'under achieving'
and yet a further 2 words 'next season'

Fair play to you though for surfacing unlike some of the other unwashed that used to parade on this forum.

Still the only show in town, thanks for visiting.

23 Apr 2016 08:43:18
i think that's a bit unfair to the goalie kiernan and wilson kienan has been playing well wilson has improved and the goalie had a howler against hibs he has not been to bad with good distribution and the way rangers play any 2 centre backs will struggle until they get used to the attacking system used we lose goals at free kicks and corners there are only 2 centre backs the rest who are marking are a bit to blame also.

23 Apr 2016 14:01:34
Acf191 deep breaths mate, not good for you getting so worked up.

How many league 2 sides have crowds of 45k plus- none. That's what they will play half games in front of. Huge difference to what they are used to.

Example: under Smith we signed a Norwegian left back from Rosenberg who was hailed as one of the best left backs in Europe. Stale stensass. Was a complete flop. By his own admission he couldn't cope with going from playing in front of small crowds to the pressure of playing for a big club.

Away games at likes of hearts and Aberdeen are hostile atmospheres not to mention away to Celtic. Not like anything that exists in league 2.

I'm not saying they can't make the step up but it is a possibility and they should be given time, not lumbered with unrealistic expectations.

The goldfish bowl that is playing for the old firm is a completely different animal than playing for acrington Stanley; after all who are they?

22 Apr 2016 15:27:31
Optimistic post bar perhaps Morrison! But, given the fact we potentially could be in Europe next season below is a list of players who are out of contract come the Summer, if we do manage to get into Europe how would you feel about these signings if they were at all possible?

Maurício from Zenit S-Pb, 27, CDM

Christopher Samba from D Moscow, 32, CB

Leandro Damião from Real Betis, 26, ST

Junior Hoilett from QPR, 25, LW

Mauro dos Santos from Eibar, 26 CB

James Morrison from West Brom, 29, CM.

22 Apr 2016 16:17:19
Behave yourself no chance we will get any of then.

22 Apr 2016 16:49:35
Morrison possibly.

22 Apr 2016 17:05:46
Samba was on 100 grand a week at Qpr and I'd say he's isn't far off that in Russia. Hoillet is on 45grand a week do you really think them 2 are in our wage structure. I no its a rumour page but that is ridiculous.

22 Apr 2016 21:06:26
I think everyone wasting there time trying to guess warbs he knows what he needs in it probably no one we really know which is even better we've had our share of washed up players this guys likes players that are ball players first in for most.

23 Apr 2016 17:28:07
I reckon I could have them all! . in my gers save on football manager, must be true.

22 Apr 2016 14:49:20
Just reflecting on pre match on Sunday with the teams in the tunnel, one captain was talking to the mascots as it was a big day for them and the other was staring ahead like an alien from Planrt Zong, guess which was which.

22 Apr 2016 19:40:57
I thought it was hilarious the way the lego muncher was acting. He made a complete knob of himself, and then disappeared during the game. A great piece of skill setting up the first goal, I suppose. It was good that he fluffed his lines in the shoot out too. A donkey of a player who's day was some time ago, if at all ever.

22 Apr 2016 19:58:54
Cullin

Totally agree mate but it seems Strachan can't see by him. However if he keeps picking players like that then in 2 years time he will be out of a job.

22 Apr 2016 20:49:33
Agree with both of you's . Broon made a fool of himself from start to finish. In his mind he was going to shave his hair off, stare people down and boss that game. In reality he looked like an idiot, never completed a pass, set up Miller and missed his penalty. Couldn't have went any better.

22 Apr 2016 21:10:15
Strachan has been left with egg on his face after this in2 year time Scotland team will be mostly gers players.

22 Apr 2016 21:17:56
Don't forget the sitter he missed and McKay gliding past him for his screamer😂😂😂😂.

23 Apr 2016 09:41:18
Rab
you are incorrect imo. as long as Celtic has a reserve team and there are ex Celtic players in the English lower leagues I would not bet on him even considering pour guys.

22 Apr 2016 13:39:39
regarding our defensive pair Wilson and Kiernan it, s obvious by recent displays they are vurnable at high balls and corners. With the team conceding 12 goals in 6 games not counting celtic game. got me thinking of big lee mculloch I don, t think his displays were ever as bad as that, okay his legs had gone but he will always be a star in my my eyes, it, s pity we could, nt enearth someone of big jig, s stature.

22 Apr 2016 14:14:06
anyone who can at least get off the ground and challenge for corners etc. would be a great signing. Dare I say it, an old fashioned centre half!
Its beginning to look like a free go, for opposition at corners and free kicks.

22 Apr 2016 16:03:47
Bougherra springs to mind, but his mad runs were always a worry.

22 Apr 2016 16:37:46
You only have to look at the success of Morgan and Huth for Leicester this season both no nonsense centre halves who can win balls in the air and tackle. Would rather have 2 players like that than 2 centre halves who can't defend and are average in the air.

22 Apr 2016 16:58:23
agree this is something could use to let the full backs bomb forward
I would hope our management have their targets lined up
so we can get players bedded in ready to hit the ground running especially with the prospects of European football.

23 Apr 2016 07:20:11
By no nonsense centre halfs do you mean dirty halfing centre halfs? Huth can't stand in the box without fouling someone if the ref did his job they would concede about 3 penaltys a game.

22 Apr 2016 12:47:08
Missing persons report
Has anyone seen Precious, Rayman and DH88? People are starting to get worried now as they haven't been seen since Sunday. They were last seen huddled together crying into their pints in the Gallowgate Sunday night, repeating over and over again 'I can't believe he missed it'.
If anyone see's or hears from them, please tell them their friends over on the Rangers banter site have missed them and have loads to talk about.
Ps well done TPP you came on and took it on the chin so fair play although your usual smart alec remarks have been not as frequent as usual. Who do u want for next year anyway and now do you think we will be serious contenders?

22 Apr 2016 13:51:13
They probably won't be found at the piggery on Sunday either as the bi weekly 'dress up as a green seat' competition continues.

22 Apr 2016 15:24:46
my celtic mates still haven't picked up the phone and it now friday. starting to worry sent them a text saying when you've finished crying into to your tear soaked pillow and feeling less raw to ring me. i'm still waiting!

22 Apr 2016 16:40:08
What do expect gents? It's hard enough in their eyes to take getting beaten by Rangers but just imagine how worse they feel coming to terms with being beaten by a so-called new club whose allegedly only been in existence a short while and have never played in the same league. What a quandary eh?

22 Apr 2016 20:52:05
Warburton will be the only Rangers manager to retire a Celtic manager of his duties from a different league. Class.
And Wallace will be the only player to win every trophy in Scottish Football. Not a record he would have wanted but still something he should be proud of.

23 Apr 2016 07:20:47
Im worried about dunder heid he was so certain they would hump us lol.

22 Apr 2016 06:26:43
Just a quick question to everyone who says they don't want Cumming anywhere near Rangers, if the hat did sign Cummings would it make you feel differently towards the manage? Personally I hope he does come to Ibrox.

22 Apr 2016 07:30:24
If the manager thinks he can do a job and he can control him, then I fully trust him. For as annoying as he is he knows where the goal is and has the work rate.

22 Apr 2016 09:31:46
Well, he'd need to pull his socks up if he did. I mean that literally, not figuratively. We don't do this half sock thing. Some Hibs players in the past have fitted into the Rangers mould, Colin Stein, Kenny Miller, and some Celtic, Scott Brown, Leigh Griffiths. I see Cummings in the Celtic mould by virtue of the fact that we're already having discussions about how annoying he is to a majority of Rangers fans. Stubbs wouldn't allow a Rangers move anyway and Cummings would likely join Scott Allan on the Celtic bench, academy, stand, wherever.

22 Apr 2016 09:43:05
I'm with you gray. Said month ago when we were in for MOH that I personally would prefer Cummings. I know it didn't go down well but in my opinion he is an actual striker. Something we do need.

22 Apr 2016 10:11:04
Whoever the gaffer brings to the club will be made welcome, I trust warburton 100% in his judgement of any player, btw whoever gave the gaffer abuse after the hibs game when warbs stopped for petrol is a disgrace, we, re not going to win every game of football we play but to abuse him is shocking.

22 Apr 2016 09:47:37
if the manager signed him he would have done his homework on him which would surpass any of his alledged misdimeanours that i have heard about afterall he has been 100% with his signings so far.

22 Apr 2016 11:38:43
Hes the wrong striker for us imo, but I am not a football manager.

22 Apr 2016 13:33:41
Delboy: Don't think it was abuse, more someone saying the match was a disgrace. However still a disgrace in itself to say that to the manager.

22 Apr 2016 13:39:14
A relevant analogy would be Jamie Vardy. Widely regarded as a pain in the neck, not to be touched and therefore nobody took him. Ranieri clearly knows how to make him tick and get the best out of him.

The hat is always on the look out for a diamond in the rough, so if he feels he can get the best out him then that would be good enough for me despite my personal opinion of the player.

Before everyone breaks the internet by saying I am comparing Vardy and Cummings, I am not. Merely saying that every player will perform at his best if you know what buttons to push and how to push them.

22 Apr 2016 13:44:52
That is the point in a nutshell jfc. Good enough for The Hat means he is good enough for Rangers means he is good enough for me. As long as he bangs in the goals and doesn't get in the news for the wrong reasons and I couldn't see care less what he did in the past.

22 Apr 2016 13:10:09
He's got talent but so did riordan, O'Connor and McManus.

I live in Edinburgh and although I don't know the guy iv spoken to people that do know him- the word bam comes up quite a lot.

Only player I would take from championship is valks from falkirk. If price is right.

22 Apr 2016 16:42:46
Cee

What do you mean the wrong striker for us? We need someone who can put the ball in the net and for all this faults he knows how to do that especially against us. He is better than some of the players we have so I don't see any issues with trying to get him.

23 Apr 2016 06:49:43
Boys a goal scorer no doubt, would score a barrel load in our team, keeps brylcream in business these day with that hairdoo too.

23 Apr 2016 07:24:42
Biffo

We have waghorn if we are signing another striker we need a big powerful one who can win a header and through himself about like hemmings, jutkewitkz, juanma, Lee Gregory etc.

I'm not saying sign these exact players but someone like it.
