Having now read all the comments attributed to David Sommers at todays agm I would call on all like minded Rangers fans to lobby for his immediate removal from the post of chairman.
While I`m well aware of the financial implications of this, we simply can not tolerate this culture of reckless contempt for the support.
"Its the fans fault we have to borrow more money" come on people, are we finally going to unite and do whatever is necessary to affect change or continue to sit back and let men like Somers humiliate us indefinitely?

he has got to leave after that performance if Ashley gets approval from the sfa I have no doubt he will get us running on a very strict budget and will at least make us break even he has the qualities to do this but at what cost to us I want to see his intentions for the club a 5 year plan in place and when the things start get implemented like removing sommers easdale scouts coaches and team investment then the fans will trust again untill then he can forget getting a lot of fans support over to ashley and sfa now on what happens next

Agree0 Disagree0

Yesterday was another low point in the history of the club. Somers clearly is not remotely suitable as chairman.

Although some of the chants that greeted the board from shareholders such as 'scum' reflected badly on fans/shareholders too. I know emotions were high but I always remember our fans being a bit more civilised than that.

Decided I will give mcdowell a chance and turn up to next home game. Can it be any woese than what we've been watching?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The result and performance on Saturday will be key to how many fans turn up to the next home game. Hopefully he will freshen up the team and refrain from the usual one paced journeyman players playing out of position and play a team that will have a go at Hibs.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree if we beat hibs with a good team selection eg players in correct position snd black dropped for mcleod then I think a few people might turn up for next home game.

Many on the sack McCoist bandwagon seem to be miraculously changing their minds due to the fact that, somehow, there are people in our club that are far worse at their job than he was! Seriously though, McCoist has to bear a lot of the blame for our current state. Financially his wages combined with the deadwood that he's signed/kept hold of (black, mcculloch, miller, Boyd, mohsni, foster, daly, smith, faure) and not burgeoning young talent who, most likely, would have seen us promoted in the previous seasons (albeit not quite so easily) and allowed a healthy profit when sold. No-one can say that the talent isn't there because we don't yet know or are blatantly good (ie McKay, gallagher etc). Now I'm far from saying all this is ally's fault but he was right to pay for his errors and now the board should pay for their fair share.

After todays farce watching bafoons waffling tripe and giving us every excuse under the sun as to why we are up sh@@ creek I now do not want Rangers to get promoted this year. We are ill prepared and will probably struggle to avoid relegation. Anyone that believes 1 word that comes out of the boards mouth needs their head examined. I have been led up the garden path long enough, NO MORE.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

22 Dec 2014 15:47:26
After today's display from the board, I feel that the support should unite and stay away on mass. Total disgrace the way everyone was to blame but the board.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I agree with most of your post - Rangers are now at the mercy of whoevers interests can me made to coincide with the club - Ashley wants to make money and to do this he needs Rangers to be a success in Scotland and beyond - is this not what we want? Green set up a corporate ownership and to change this they need to be bought out (much as I'd like them to King/McCall/Murray can't or won't) Ashley will make them money and dilute them - unpalatable but best we have
On your PS - agree Celtic are no great shakes but really!

Agree0 Disagree0

Everyone must realise that ashley is the only team in town and to be honest I think he will make a sucess of things through time he will get rid dinsdale and doug and all rest of the motley crew silly talk of further boycotts etc if the u o f continue with there boycotts and picketing sports direct and ashley walks away then that's it over armagedon rangers no more

Saw m Murray giving his view on sky. I have to agree that the one good thing is that it looks as though Ashley is in it for the long haul. I take this to mean that he will want us back at the top soon. Like the rest of us he is stuck with the easdales ec because he will not increase his holding beyond the 29. 9 thus avoiding having to make an offer for the rest of shares. I see him positioning himself as the lead, surrounded by his men with the rest mere puppets. I think he will get us heading in right direction, might take longer than any of us would like but at least guarantee of no 2nd admin.

PS how bad are the east end lot, I still don't think that cup tie is beyond us, they are rubbish!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Comedy gold mate, maybe you think you will get into Europe too lol. I hear Lawwell is so worried about this fixture he is thinking about making Celtic a part time team with giving the players day jobs to make sure of a victory.

Agree0 Disagree0

N1maybe celtic won't have a full team, when all loan players go back to parent clubs, one thing for sure they won't be spending money on new players.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Dec 2014 21:00:54
Celtic may lose 1 or 2 of their loanees but Rangers will have been forced to sell their best players. I think it will be a very one sided affair.

Agree0 Disagree0

@2) All the loan players? As far as I'm aware Berget is the only one on a six month loan. The rest are for the full year. Looks like you'll need to come up with another piece of wishful thinking to ease your worry about the game.

Agree0 Disagree0

N4. What about guddetti, the guy yous rely on then there's tonev, one thing I will say for sure is yous won't be buying anybody, I would be willing to come on here and apologise if I got it wrong, will you come on and do the same, I also think yous will except any bids for your players this window,

Celtic fan in peace. having followed the events at gers because both clubs quite simply need each other, I have to sympathise with gers fans especially after todays farce. How your club will ever move forward I don't know but treating loyal staff of over 40 years service with such disrespect and the contempt shown to both fans and shareholders alike, this isn't going to end well. I wish you the best of luck in getting these charlatans out of scottish football but seriously doubt that can be achieved now.

MB1888

Believable0 Unbelievable0

MB, a lot of fans think the problems at Ibrox are down to the management team. That is what we are dealing with. They refuse, or are unable, to see the bigger picture. Hopefully they will be happy now they got their wish.

22 Dec 2014 17:35:13
@1Even now you defend McCoist!Yes the problems extend beyond the football field, far beyond. The football should have been the one glimmer of something good amongst the boardroom sh**e,at least most of the fans would still be there.Ally is away pal, accept it,we move on.

Agree0 Disagree0

Gkk,

Please point out where I am 'even now' defending Ally. From this, I presume I have done it in the past. All I have ever stated, is that there are far bigger problems at Rangers than those on the field. Getting rid of McCoist will not sort out the real problems. It is only a game.

I am fairly confident that Somers will resign by the end of this season. DON'T let this be a reason to return to the games, the cancer inside lies a lot deeper than David Somers.

I believe today he intentionally said controversial things such as blaming the fans for financial difficulties and saying 'when your Chairman you can make decisions' in an attempt to get fans back to games after hearing he has been sacked (in January/February maybe). In return for a pay off perhaps.

Davey boy needs to step up again soon.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

22 Dec 2014 13:41:26
Rangers chairman, David Somers, has the audacity to stand up at the AGM today and blame the fans who have not bought season tickets this year for the current financial problems of the club. This man is clearly a fool and unfit to fill this position.
He obviously does not have a clue why thousands of fans, like myself, have taken the difficult decision not to attend games this season.
Today he has managed to blame the SFA, the media, the previous board, Dave King and the fans for the predicament. Everyone to blame except the ones who have squandered millions of £s!
For now, I will reserve judgement on Lambias and Ashley. But until this clown, Somers clears his desk. I won't be back!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

22 Dec 2014 13:54:08
Don't see were you can say he blames fans & king plus previous boards for me he is just stating the obvious, season ticket sales are down fact. king encouraged the boycott of ticket sales fact. and previous boards squandered millions fact.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Dec 2014 14:16:43
r.f he quite clearly points out its the fans fault take king out the accusation
a lot of fans threw there own choice have finally woke up and seen the state our club is been run and the money these men are taking out our club that is why they have chose not to go to games they are sick of it at that buffoon summers has just enraged even more rangers fans treating us with total disregard

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Dec 2014 15:12:13
Not once did he state it was fans fault he says it down to reduced season tickets and investors not willing to put money in.
r. f
P. s just a thought how long can we go. on saying I won't be back until this or that one has gone, green, ahmed, stockbridge, Irvine, even ally now its sommers when does it end or will the boycotters only be happy if and its a big if king gets his way!
r. f

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Dec 2014 18:10:21
r.f I could not care bout king these current crop of people running the club do not have cash to run our club so should sell the club but they ain't there ripping us off big time
i ask the question what is the alternative from your point of view keep giving money to them

Agree0 Disagree0

Rf reduced season tickets is a way of blaming the fans, think about it, no ticket sales due to fans not buying them, thus fans fault.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Dec 2014 20:54:38
I get that George but the other poster says he "clearly" blames the fans.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Dec 2014 09:16:05
@4 I still don't get were their "ripping us off" as far as I'm aware there is no money to rip off they may be paying excessive wages but "ripping us off" can't see it as the money that does come in needs topped up by loans to pay players wages, utility bills etc also for the last few years we have been crying out for a board to make cuts as we have still been living beyond our means now it appears we have one willing to do this so why not give them the chance to see what they can do? Because for now they are going nowhere unless someone comes in and buys the club.

what a load of rubbish that was then complete waste of time board just defending them self and blaming the supporters and every one else but there self no plans for the future of the club share issue money to see the season out then what no answers can not believe Somers says onerous contracts are all over the place Some are watertight others they've said Sod it we'll see you in court this is from the chairman of rangers football club he is a complete joke they also pointed out the hired a head hunter for chief executive role there were candidates from the premier league and championship yet we end up with ashleys man what a waste of time and waste of money treating us the fans like mugs anyone that was wanting answers will be disappointed

22 Dec 2014 12:36:34
I've just been reading the reports from the agm. seemingly somers played a blinder by really pissin off the fans and treating them with contempt by saying it's their. our. fault they are borrowing money. to get these guys out a total boycott is headed. not a half hearted attempt. they also said McDowell could get the job on a permanent basis. ffs!!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Somers quoted as saying in regard to onerous contracts: "with a number of contracts we've just said 'sod you, we will see you in court'. Can I say that?"

Looking at that farce this morning with that gazebo and the reception from shareholders and with information like that from Somers coming out does anybody believe that institutional investors are going to be interested in the forthcoming share issue or will they think they should avoid it like the plague?

Agree0 Disagree0

Seen the set up of the stage in relation to where the shareholders are being seated. far enough not to be heard or hear, or far enough away for the boards own safety!!

Agree0 Disagree0

I said previously the AGM will leave us with f all answers regarding the chaotic shambles we have became. Many say treating fans with contempt & insinuating the fans are as much to blame by not going, Well merry Xmas all & goodbye rangers.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bigcol. I said on here yesterday km was getting the role to see how he got on, this lot don't have the money to replace ally, plus if we went on to win the league with McDowell in charge we wouldn't need a new manager. (stop laughing at the back ).

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Dec 2014 11:19:06
I think the choice of our next manager needs to be as clever and astute as the appointment of Souness back in the 80's.
It was a MAJOR change of direction and this time albeit for different reasons, the next appointment needs to be well thought out. We have no money, we have few really good players so in a way, this is going to need a genious move, someone who can get the best out of people. Perhaps a young version of a Fergie?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Wee bill, souness came in and spent fortunes, no decent top notch manager will come in without getting a shed load of money to improve a very old and poor squad.

Agree0 Disagree0

N1, I don't think rangers would need to spend a lot, after all, dundee utd. Beat the current league leaders yesterday with 8 of there own youngsters, I think it's about guys than can run about for a full 90 minuets, as that's the way it is panning out in scotland now, using youngsters with plenty of energy. hearts, hibs two other teams full of youngsters

Morning from sunny perth Australia, mixed feelings over here for the bears yes ally is gone but really hats of to the guy, forget about wages money etc our club is in ruins and where we go from here is anyone's guess, but ally the player was the best, his goals the games he won for us in the years gone by far outweigh the circus that is going on just now, so thanks for the memories ally cause let's face it guys how many people are going to look back in 20 years at this circus and want to remember these times but in 20 years we can tell our kids and grand kids about the goals of SuperAlly, good luck to the new guy I think it will be an Ashley appointment not your butchers mc calls etc but let's hope he calls it right because this will defintley be our last throw of the dice merry Christmas and let's hope 2015 is a happy blue year

Believable0 Unbelievable0

This was always going to happen, it was just a question of when. Saturday's crowd probably made the decision very much easier for the board. They will now be hoping that the punters will come flocking back in their numbers. This is effectively a promotion for K Mc, and I would assume he will be expecting his wages to rise accordingly.
This can only cost the club as A Mc will sit in his garden drawing close to £2000 a day. What a legend!

Agree0 Disagree0

I was saying to remember him for his goals and I guarantee you that you left ibrox thankful that we had ally, I know I did manager no, player legend and let's face it radallosh you would sit in garden for 2000 a day at least out of all the money that has went at least ally deserved a bit and not the rest of the b@st@rds ps sorry about last bit
