22 Jul 2011 23:32:30
i cant believe the amount of s**t rumours that gets posted on here cuellar wont be comming if he really wanted to join us he would have signed already as villa and rangers agreed a fee for him goodwillie will sign for us but only after his trial bartley might come on loan dont expect us to sign alot more players. we can still win the league with the team we have got shellic havent got a better starting 11 than we do weve got the best goalie in scotland the best defender the best midfielder and the best striker no need to panic in super ally we trust 4 in a row here we f***ing go

Believable0 Unbelievable2

How do you work out if he wanted to come he'd be here by now? Villa were holding it up no paying him his loyalty bonus that he's entitled to

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said chum..all made easy with the backing off craig whyte may i add

Agree0 Disagree0

Because i work out he would be here if he wanted to come as he said he wanted to come back to us then other teams stated an interest in him and we havent heard back from him kinda obvious he wont come back to us

I know that Kenny Miller has passed a medical at Cardiff but has he actually signed a contract with them? It said on a few newspapers that he was supposed to be announced as a Cardiff player 2day. BTW i just think tht Cardiff are looking at every1 we're tryin 2 sign and then sabotaging them. Conway, Miller and now they are considering an offer for Goodwillie.

I think this is how the team will line-up:

McGregor

Whittaker Bougherra Papac Wallace

Ortiz Edu Davis Wylde

Jelavic Naismith

Subs: Alexander, Broadfoot, Hutton, Ness, Kerkar, Healy, Hemmings

Probable Hearts team:

Kello

Jonsson Zaliukas Webster Grainger

Templeton Black Taouil Novikovas

Sutton Elliott

Personally, I think we can win by a few goals tomorrow, as we have our strongest team out. Naismith can slot back into right wing for Healy/Hemmings with Ortiz going to the left (Wylde going off).

i'd like to see wallace playing left mid as he is a good attacking player plus papac could wander foreward sometimes and wallace could drop back into left back ? Just a thought

Believable1 Unbelievable0

22 Jul 2011 22:23:08
personally i think we will get at least another 3 or 4 signings before the 31st of august one of them being a centre half likely to be either cuellar, goian, juhasz or that african dude. we should buy 2 just incase bougy goes in january. i think we will get another striker but not goodwillie i would wait till january for him cos ive been told his court hearing is in december and if we spend £2m or so on him and he gets found guilty thats £2m wasted for nothing. we should alos get a naturally left footed left winger cos ortiz aint left footed and he seems to be playing left wing instead of right. and just incase i would get a new gk cos i see alexander leavin in the next year or so if he doesnt get enough games but you cant get past mcgregor for the no.1 spot hes one of the best keepers in the UK and would go for £8m easy.

Haw Ed47, when's Ed46 back? It's not the Ed47 show, this is a forum and you're not posting my comments. Your lot get maximum exposure on Celts forum, provided it's not offensive, on the wind up. Take pelters in the manner it's supposed to be taken.......at least Ed46 runs the forum with integrity and a sense of humour......boooooooooo...Miko {Ed047's Note - if he posts some of your stuff mate, where's his integrity? They were not offensive so how can you be selective? That's where the integrity comes into play, it's a sham

I requested an G@rs embargo on our forum which our Ed declined. That's integrity....Miko......Hail Hail

Would anyone agree with me if I said we should move for trickovski cos I think he's a higher quality player than goodwillie?

Believable4 Unbelievable2

Guy had his heart set on a move to Rangers APOEL fans were congraeulating him on his big move on his facebook page up untill 31st may.Got P/M from his wife Dianne thanking me for my comments and telling me he would be intrested if the right deal could be struck (nice touch to get a reply) looks a decent player and APOEL fans think the world of him

Agree0 Disagree0

Trickovski and jelavic would be a lethal combo in all competitions and when we sign estigarribia from Le Mans (after he wins the Copa America with Paraguay) both big jela and tricki will have quality balls fed into the box for them to bag a couple of hat-tricks per game all season long LOL. glad tae hear millers signing at cardiff. so hopefully thats an end all crappy posts about how we should be paying over the odds for a player that couldnae wait to disappear tae the sunshine. dont get me wrong the boy done a job for us but lets look tae the future. the only former ranger id like back is big carlos. lets get behind whyte and ally. and leave the moaning and greeting tae the professional runners up, they must be brickin it or theyd be on their own page n not ours. i can honestly say i have never been on their page. wouldnt even have it on my search history. watp

Believable4 Unbelievable0

So you would rather have a player that wants his full £40k a week and would hold the club in limbo than a player who would play for half his wages £25k I know who I would rather have but everybody is entitled to there opinion

Really hope Black doesn't take out Jelavic again tomorrow. The whole Hearts team seemed a bit angry the last game I watched them v rangers. Mind you with an owner like theirs they are bound to have issues.
Gers to win by 3.
Looks like Bartley isn't getting a chance at first team footy at Arsenal. He HAS to come back. Him backing up Bougherra and the King with shagger in the goals would be dream team stuff.
Not even bothered by Miller. Lafferty and Jela easily filled his boots. The big lad, Naismith (maybe Goodwillie) and Jela up front will provide more than enough goals.

Anyone else think 1m plus fleck and hutton on loan is a good deal for goodwillie?

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Im sure we dont want to give away any of our team

Agree0 Disagree0

£1.5m plus Hemmings for me would be excellent business for both parties. Hemmings looks a good prospect and would develop at Dundee United as a direct short term replacement for Goodwillie.

Agree0 Disagree0

Anow it was just a friendly against blackpool but when they 2 came on i thought the were really good . wee flecky made his name for his ability to take on players something that smith never let him do if u seen him without his shackles he was beating 2, 3 players at ease against blackpool . keep the young players they will have good future for our club ..

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jul 2011 19:20:56
On the subject of Goodwillie: obviously Whyte is a shrewd businessman who doesn't take risks and, personally, i think that is why e've not coughed up an offer closer to 2m for him. Still, don't you think D.U are willing to incorporate a clause along the lines of 'if he gets done, we refund yous an agreed percentage of the money'? This way, we'd get him with fewer strings attached and from d.u's point of view, they'd either get the money for him or they'd keep him - if he was convicted - which would mean they'd be in the same position as if they'd kept him all along. Obviously, such a provision favors the gers and i'd expect D.U. would want to increase the asking price for such an agreement, in order to make the deal more worth their while. I know i've not explained this at all well, but i really think he's a decent prospect but with all his baggage hes really shooting his own career in the foot. Thoughts?

UCL Third Round Qualifiers. (26-27/7, 2-3/8)

Ekranas / BATE
APOEL / Slovan Bratislava
Zestafoni / SK Sturm Graz
FC Dynamo Kyiv / FC Rubin Kazan
KRC Genk / FK Partizan
Rangers FC / Malm FF
FC Twente / FC Vaslui
HJK Helsinki / NK Dinamo Zagreb
FC K benhavn / Shamrock Rovers FC
Odense BK / Panathinaikos FC
Maccabi Haifa FC / NK Maribor
R. Standard de Li ge / FC Z rich
Rosenborg BK / FC Viktoria Plzeň
SL Benfica / Trabzonspor AŞ

Winners go through to play-offs (16-17/8, 23-24/8) These teams will be included at this stage:
Arsenal
Bayern
Lyon
Udinese
Villarreal

Personally, if we get past Malmo, I'd rather take the winner of some of the qualifying stage...

Thoughts?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

We can't get any of those teams mate. We are in the "Champions Route". If we get past Malmo then we will have a team from a lower ranked country than us. :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

I am not 100% on this, but is their not two paths into the group stage this year from the qualifying rounds; league winners and non-league winners. Therefore, we avoid the likes of Arsenal and Lyon, as they are not league winners and therefore on a different path, if we get passed Malmo. If this is the case, It would give us a more than decent chance of making the group stage.

22 Jul 2011 16:50:01
I reckon -

We will go back in for Davidson but not until after Tuesday as we dont want him as our wildcard

We will try and get a central defender over weekend for Malmo game.

After that it depends on outcome of game.

No matter what we will want a striker but which one we go for will depend on continuing in Europe.

It is possible if we do not qualify for Europe and the first few league games go ok we will hold of until January and check out the Goodwillie situation before getting another striker.

I reckon if we qualify we will then look to pay the extra to get Bedoya in early to boost our numbers due to extra games and money.

I also think Cuellar will only come in if we are in Europe.

A marquee signing for CL once all other deals signed off and if we qualify for group stages.

this is just what I envision happening based on what I have seen so far this season.

Just a thought, if u were Cuellar, would u rather get paid £40k or £25k for sitting around doing nothing? Im thinking there is a gentlemans agreement with ally that he will sign, maybe with the condition that we qualify for the CL. Carlos always said he wants CL fitba and only rangers at the moment have offered this. I also have read that only the gers have agreed a few with villa so he cant talk to anyone else. In my humble opinion I don't think kenny miller was ever coming back and I think the paper's made a bigger deal out of it to do what they always do and sell papers, yes we put in a bid but I think this was a fair bid as he hasn't gone to cardiff for fortunes, we were right no to increase bid but that aside jellyfish and big laff were dynamite together with we naisy bursting forward to help them as much as possible if we had brought back miller I think he could have held back big laff just when we were starting to get best out of him and I also like the look of hemmings he will give defenders problems in this country, also if miller came back he would have been on the 25k he wanted and would have been our highest paid forward and may not have been starting every game I think the money can be spent better WATP

Believable7 Unbelievable0

Miller was never coming back to rangers, I suppose ally and whyte did him a favour and made a bid for him so we could get manky mckay reeled in to take him and pay him top dollar for a few years miller must of shelled out 100,000 quid in back-handers to pull that one off...lol

Lets spend 2mill elswhere.

Like advised yesterday ma da works for youth department and they are planing on builiding stand to watch the games at murray park and to rent out for other games etc....

on player front Mr Whte has dished out
Kerkar 1year
Healy 1 year

Davis 5 years
Shagger 6 year
Wallace 5 year

New american 3 years a think so that about 31 years worth of contracts dished out

Agree0 Disagree0

I will happily bow to your insider knoweldge if any of them are sold Miko, but I still think you're talking out your hoop (no pun intended). On keepers, you've never had much luck in that department (apart fae Boruc) so you should be used to that by now.
As for Malmo, I don't totally agree but It would be foolish to take anyone lightly. They're well into their season now so we'll have to be switched on right from the off. Still think we've got more than enough to avoid your suggested headline though.
Wee question, do you seriously still rate Freddie Mercury? After all the chances he's been given at Celtic? He's p1sh. I can only hope Mr Lennon still thinks he 'has something' so we can all get a chuckle at his inept displays for a wee while longer.
one more thing..wee olive branch. Think you'll be top after the weekend on goal difference. 1 or 2 nil to the Gers, Celtic will hammer Hibs as they are f*ck1ng hopeless. Enhanced odds on Betfred for an old firm double by the way.

£1.5m on an injury prone, mediocre left back. Mad Vlad has won a watch with that one. This is a panick buy to appease the supporters and deflect any criticism that was coming Whyte's way. What's going on at your club? Open your eyes guys, you could have had a guaranteed 20 goals a season for less in Miller, yet he decides to spend all that money on a capable left back with less than a year left on his contract.....then you sign some American midfielder that plays for Obrero....and he's not due to join the club in January. Ortiz is a squad player by all accounts, you still need a CB, you currently have a CB that doesn't want to be there and you have another one that's older than the club itself, ha. You can forget Cuellar anyway, that was never happening. You guys have to put the pressure on Whyte, even John Greig had reservations about this guy, surely he has no other agenda other than your clubs best interest at heart....happy days......Miko x

There he is, good ol Miko the voice of reason lol Where you been dude?
Listen, you just concern yourself with who the Walford market traders are NOT signing and get yersel down the piggery for your own wee protest. Need I remind you you've signed hunners of players over the past few seasons and still couldn't halt our march to 3 in a row. Trouble is, with the bigger squad and a few players of genuine quality you boys are lacking one thing.....bottle Your boys have proved themselves to be lightweights time and time again. I see no reason for that to change. You'd be better off having Lennon, Mjallby and Thomson still playing for you. At least they wanted to play for your club and had the bottle to do so. I don't see that pride and fight in any of your current players and you've signed nobody of note. Even your captain was brought up as a blue in the same village as the great Jim Baxter. He's just trying to further his career whilst picking up a tidy wage, no loyalty, no bottle, no hope. Dream on Miko son, 4 in a row here we go

You sound worried man calm down. 4 in a row coming up.

Good morning all. Ok we have secured the services of two players, although one might not arrive until January, lets hope we can pull some strings and make it sooner.
We are still in player negotiations for two more, Kyle Bartley is still in the frame and it all depends on Arsenal as they are currently enquiring about an Everton player, if they are unsuccessful with this enquiry then Bartley will remain at Arsenal and fight for his place. Now I have it on good authority that we are currently looking at a player from the Dutch league who is available and would relieve our striker situation, as a lot of you know who read this and its not rocket science, we need a striker imminently, If Jelovic was to become injured for even 2 weeks then our CL challenge is in jeapordy, for this reason Rangers have made a striker our prime target and talks are negotiations are currently taking place, This will be our wild card and most likely a player who plays in the Dutch league but not neccessary Dutch. As for Goodwillie, he is now not eligible to play in europe, although I can assure you he will sign for Rangers.
NOW forget about Miller, he will sign for Cardiff today, he will not sign for Rangers, the problem is not the £35 he has been offered but the length of the conract, Miller wants 3 years Cardiff offered 2 years, they are currently thrashing this out as his agent has said Miller knows this is his final contract.
I would like to ask fans to remain patient and remember what our boys and WS achieved last season, against all odds, remember we have an important game tomorrow to focus on and the unfurling of the championship flag, so get behind your team and remain proud. WATP.

I hope Miller does sign for Cardiff as hopefully that might push through the Goodwillie deal to come to the Gers. I never thought I'd see the day we would struggle to get players from the SPL. Take me back to the 90's.

Good Morning Ed

It seems Miller is a goner however should everything go smoothly with Goodwillies court case its rumoured rangers will come back with a 2million pound bid to snatch him from his admirers in the Championship also you heard anything more about Cuellar Ed ?

"We are really just waiting on some documents coming through from Bursaspor. I would love to have it completed by the end of the day. "

"Medical is done and passed. We would have to talk to Kenny about whether he's fit to play tomorrow. If he feels he wants to play, then absolutely. But if he's not fit we can wait. "

I think we will beat Malmo with what we have...its the play-off before the group stages that worries me. If we beat Malmo then we have one of these teams to beat before the group stages

Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Lyon, Udinese or Villareal.

Tough task no matter who we buy

Bazza Bear

Agree0 Disagree0

I totally agree with you every 1 was hoping they had sumthing up ther sleeve but it looks like they bought the boy Wallace and wer hoping that would b enough to get us onside well it's not enough for me I'm gutted we never signed miller and how he can send us in to cl qualifier gambling that we can get through is beyond me I do think we will sign more players but I fear it may b to late

Agree0 Disagree0

You have to remember we had walter smith and david murray looking after things.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers will NOT be facing ANY of those clubs in 4th qualifying round. (if we beat Malmo we will home and away)
There is 2 draws, 1 is for Champions only and the other for 2nd, 3rd and 4th placed teams (dep on league) thats y Sellik got Arsenal they were in other draw the worst sides we can get is Rosenborg or Anderlecht etc the champions from leagues that dont get automatic entry in group stages so stop pooing ur pants we have another 14 or 21 days b4 transfer deadline for 4th round and we may be seeded for that which leaves us with Levski Sofia Bate Barislov etc

Agree0 Disagree0

We dont play any of those teams, we are on the champions path to the group stages they are on the runners up, 3rd path.We will get a champion from a lesser league.

Agree0 Disagree0

We are seeded really some people are never happy get a grip and get your facts right we will be in the group stages well done mr whyte and thanks for saving our club

If we got cuellar would have fancied my chances against any of those teams but not with a 40 year old at the back crazy

Whyte is Clearly just buying assets (goes up in value) It makes good busness sense even though it may not make good football sense.... Whyte is a business man.... he's in this to make money Kenny Miller wont have any long term value hence why not payin any more than they sold him for. Bursaspor may be forced to seel him to Rangers at the low asking price should he reject Cardiff. I expect Murray Davidson to be signed and also David Goodwillie.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

And Mr Whyte is quite right, do you want to go back to the Mr Murray days chasing rainbows but ending up brown creek with no loo paper being run by the bank(boo)yes mr Whyte is a business man and that's what we need right now, someone that can make Glasgow Rangers make money instead of using what little money we really had and using it as loo paper when we were up that brown creek

I can't believe we haven't signed a CB before Saturdays game, that was our priority, we've had all summer to get someone in & on another note, we sign 1 player & 1 will come in January, wtf, we were told we would need 5 or 6 players for the start of the season.

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Sorry but who and wen was it said that we would have had 5-6 players in before the champ league qualifier deadline? there is still over a month left of the transfer window .... wise up

Agree0 Disagree0

Still got a month to go before the end of the transfer window. Still got a crackin squad. Thats why were champions. Take your moanin over to the moanky mob's page.

Agree0 Disagree0

We have signed two, remember ortiz, and more will come, they will also be trying to give youth a chance as well. there is no rush in signing bedoya as we have ness and hutton that can do the job is the regular players are out.

Agree0 Disagree0

Whyte himself said we would have 5 or 6 players in BEFORE the start of the season & yes i know Ortiz has signed but what i meant was only 1 player signed yesterday. I don't think it will even matter now if we don't beat Malmo because we won't beat the big guns lying in wait, they will run riot with Weir, he was a good servant but come on he's 41.

Miller & Jelavic would score a barrow load ..

i would say rangers need three more players before season starts and another 3 before the transfer market shuts so we need 2 center halfs a winger and striker and a couple of good sqwad players to fill the bench that then we would be sorted
4 in a row

2 ch a winger an striker thats 4 players not 3

From an article on Rangers site, Ally states...

"That left hand side forward area is certainly one that nobody has grabbed as their own and although Lee has spent most time on the left of defence I feel he can play further forward and also on the left side of central defence."

Either this is just in case we don't get a decent left mifilder or winger or maybe this is the main reason we got him.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We will sign Murray Davidson. And go in with a improved bid.£150 000 plus add ons that could rise to £500 000 was a joke. How about giving them that out right? He is a top player, who could get goals as he is box to box.If he comes on to a game working with better players around him.Or be turned into a quality holding midfielder, cos he is tall and strong and can put the dig in.

Agree0 Disagree0

He also has a contract that expires in a few months. Psh away a 1/2 milli and it's a few hundred k less to spend elsewhere. If you're so confident he's the next Gerson and no just a person splist, bench-fodder monkey it amounts to the same thing anyway, whether they get their money now or once he arrives and sets the heather on fire. I don't see other teams busting doon the tractor boys' door.

Wallace a good signing. Moreso for his potential, age and future retail value. Same with Bedoya. He looks like a real prospect, and I figure he has been brought in for those very same reasons. I have said previously, Millar would be a good signing, but ONLY at the right price, bearing in mind his age and future re-sale value. Same applies to Gattuso; age, suspensions, salary (unless it's a pay as you play deal) and re-sale value, makes this one a no-no for me. Davidson I know nothing about, but he must be seen as a squad player at best atm. (I'm a ref in England btw) If Cuellar decides not to re-join the club, then we will bring in one of the other previously named targets on here. The Paraguayan lad really is an exceptional player and would be a real coup for us to sign, (fingers crossed) The squad will then be boosted by quality, surplus to requirements, players from EPL teams who have something to prove and may become regulars over the new season. That's pretty much what I can see happening for now. We will more than likely gamble, and stand by the team which won the league last season (with the exception of the two new permanent signings) for now, until nearer the transfer deadline.

according to the press Filip Kiss and Kenny miller were having a medical today at Cardiff, Cardiff have announced the loan signing of Kiss but no mention of miller.

i think that Kenny is waiting to see if Rangers increase their bid and Bursapor accept it then he will come home.

i think he has made it plainly obvious who he wants to play for so its up to Rangers now giving the option to stay in Turkey or sign for Cardiff he will sign for Cardiff

i also think this will be a big loss to rangers as with Kenny you know what you are getting

So come on Mr Whyte £800k is not a lot of money for a striker of Millers Class

You're right Tony, you do know what you're getting with kenny misser- a load of garbage mostly.

The "we need more to replace him" Turks are a load of bleeding chancers. The same mob that spent 20 odd million euro last summer before we met them in the cl? (i only hope they kept some receipts if they were signing likes of kenny a few month later). If Jenny really wants to come "home" let him force it by rebuffing cardiff.

I certainly wouldn't be spending any more than we got for him. Your instantly flushing it down the toilet. They're lucky whyte's offering them their pittance back to my mind He won't be offering any more that's for sure. Maybe wee kenny shall have to do his bit. He did walk away for money just a few month ago when we were at a particularly low ebb.

I'm no too fussed either way. Take him for your money back, or stay away. Would rather we signed a decent, young striker with a sell-on value for decent money, e.g. another jela, than go back to the same old rubbish myself.

The deadline was 11pm yeah but i've heard that we can make 1 player eligble on Monday. Also what is one or two players signing before the dreaded deadline actually going to do. Rangers have a strong squad and were champions I don't think one or two signings is going to effect us getting past Malmo.

Absolutely delighted that the ball has finally started rolling with the Gers in terms of players coming in the door. Surprised to see were actually paying £1.5million for Lee Wallace considering we offered a fifth of that less than a month ago but I think Wallace is a solid player and will only improve the squad. Good piece of business with Alejandro Bedoya getting him tied up to a pre-contract as Orebro now know he is leaving them one way or another could lower their asking price and get another player in. I still expect Ally to bring in a minimum of 3 or 4 new faces. Dorin Goian the latest player linked casting more doubt upon the Carlos Cuellar deal, personally i'd rather we targeted a younger centre half but both have tremendous experience. In Midfield Murray Davidson shouldn't be to far off. Expect Rangers and St Johnstone to reach an agreement sooner rather than later would be useful to have in the squad. Would welcome another winger Wesley Verhoek, Jason Puncheon or Vladimir Weiss would do nicely but no deals are on the horizon. Kenny Miller has ran into complications with his move to Cardiff but i'd be shocked if he didn't end up down south, Cardiff are rumoured to be willing to pay him close to £30k which we can't match. David Goodwillie would be my preference. Court case has been pished back again and this will prevent a deal been done but Cardiff are still interested so I'd hope now that Mr. Whyte has opened his chequebook he signs up Goodwillie

Can i just remind the original poster that maybe Rangers are waiting for the epl to announce there 25 man squads before buying anyone, we won't rush in and buy the wrong people, the ones that have gotten away from us so far(conway, danns, hemed)weren't ally's priority signings and quite rightly should only offer these kind of guys what we think they are worth, would you have been happy to offer craig conway or any of these other guys £25k per week, no didn't think so, please, by all means at the end of the transfer window you can tell me off if we have the same squad as now, but I think we have got enough in the current squad just now to make it into the champions league outright, i mean the current squad are 3 in a row champions for goodness sake.
