starting to get a wee bit nervous about the lack of info regarding Krancjar and Gilks.
Thought we might have heard something by now, particularly re Krancjar.

23 Jun 2016 11:06:38
anxious and impatient, something you should probably work on.

22 Jun 2016 21:00:26
Just saw Broony on ssn. Before this I just didn't see Bartons logic, indeed I just thought his patter was embarrassing. After seeing B-b-broony stuttering and trying to sound hard it looks like the wee Bawz has him rattled. Into him Joey son!

22 Jun 2016 20:06:18
just want to say congrats to the management and their signings thus far----were lookin good-----oh and while I'm at it congrats also to the brit teams at the euros-----we have no chance of world cup qualification whilst ginger is in charge. maybe McColl saw the light--.

22 Jun 2016 19:53:56
I see Luca Gasparotto has joined Falkirk. I think it was a mistake letting him go but having said that, the scouting policy of signing players from England's lower leagues means there will be few, if any, opportunities for our under 20s. I accept it's fair enough if they're not good enough but you've got to wonder.

22 Jun 2016 19:41:20
Hearing some negativity about the possible gilks move, yes he may be a bit older but a good goalkeeper he is.

22 Jun 2016 19:52:56
Thanks Yoda.

22 Jun 2016 21:30:58
Less than a handful of games in two years has played, good keeper is he.

Aim higher we must!

Haha.

22 Jun 2016 19:35:08
What's the score with Krankjar anyone?!?

22 Jun 2016 19:40:04
2 year deal apparently.

22 Jun 2016 18:23:41
Sky Sports reporting that we hope to have 1 other signing in before the US tour as well as Niko and Gilks. Mariappa would be the obvious one. Assuming we get him I think we will see 2 more after the US tour and that will be us unless something special becomes available or a loan. My guess would be a striker and a full back who can play on both flanks. Hodson and Vaughan are the ones that have had the most talk and the Bradshaw stuff won't go away but it could well be left field. Hodson is a steady enough player who would do a job when needed, Vaughan's recent scoring record isn't great but he did have a good scoring record at Huddersfield before he got injured.

As for a loan I doubt we will see it happen until the last week of the window when most EPL clubs will have settled on their squads.

22 Jun 2016 19:30:36
Says we ain't in for Curtis Nelson either.

Maybe means Mariappa. Great news.

Experience, pace and versatility in one free transfer. Terrific business.

22 Jun 2016 17:59:31
Wonder if Niko passed his medical, hope so, so I can stop banging on about him, he say that his good friend Jelavic told him all about us. To many mouthy Celtic fans saying he's past it, he is only 31, that's the tail end of his prime if he can get his fitness up. I think Celtic fans are Jelous, we're getting players for free with talent, experience and confidence.

We are shopping so well by the time Celtic sign someone all the good free agents will have been and gone, baffles me, but who cares.

If I see Kranjcar holding up a Rangers top soon, my next want will be Marriappa! And I'll be then talking about him to much. Then a good goal scorer.
This does make such a refreshing change that we are linked, signing and even dabating such signings. We have been through the mire and deserve a bit of this.

Well done King, And other directors and off course W&W, but let's not forget Mcpartland, happy bear.

22 Jun 2016 17:55:38
Jordan Rossiter Josh Windass Joey Barton Matt Crooks Clint Hill Matt Gilks Niko Kranjcar All for a combined total of £350,000.

Woops. There it is!

22 Jun 2016 18:24:42
To right Stuarteah absolutely loving it, changed days 👍.

22 Jun 2016 17:18:13
With all the talk about mariappa and Taylor possibly signing why don't we look at Arlind Ajeti of Albania out of contract and was at an Italian team once released from Basel and at only 22-23 would have resell value and has the experience of playing big games can't imagine wages being too much either.

22 Jun 2016 16:31:35
Anyone heard how season ticket sales are doing?

22 Jun 2016 16:56:17
Most of them are sold except club deck and Broomloan mate, was trying to get 3 earlier today and eventually found some in main stand rear.

22 Jun 2016 15:39:17
I think this move for Gilks proves there will be no money spent on transfer fees this window.
looking like it's going to be all frees and loans.

22 Jun 2016 15:51:26
Wes has had as little as one season as Number 1.

Couple of errors don't make him a bad GK. We wouldn't have spent anything on a GK anyway.

McGovern wouldn't have been a guaranteed starter. Nor will Gilks. Wes is MW number 1 this season and it's always been the case. Doubtful from the start that we were going to get Bentley.

Like the Bradshaw situation. Don't think people have seen enough to judge. Just judging from reputation.

22 Jun 2016 15:56:53
Are you complaining about the players we have signed I think it's been a great transfer window for us maybe they will be willing to spend a few million on a proven goal scorer who nos it's a free or not but we have came along way if niko signs that's even better big striker good goal keeper and a young CB with potential then try our luck with loans I'm sure there will be definitely 2 loans hope it's more cracking youth players in England.

22 Jun 2016 16:35:56
Where will the money come from? We want a club that will be self-sufficient not someone constantly giving us money and then everything goes tits up when they leave. we are building a team and a business at the same time. if we can do it for free/ spending very little then I'm fine with that. Gilks coming proves very little, if Warburton wants experience he'll get experience. Can I remind everyone we have no money from merchandise and no European games for money either. once we have both we will be a striving success.

22 Jun 2016 17:13:01
The signings so far have been excellent and a lot of respect must go to Warburton and his team for securing the players.

Let's hope that we see Kranjcar complete his signing today and I sincerely hope we are successful in securing the Crystal palace Centre Back and a decent quality striker.

My only disappointment is that we have not signed a better goalkeeper since I have genuine concerns regarding a number of aspects of Wes' play. He is poor with cross balls, does not command his penalty box and gets caught too often at his near post. Still, perhaps with an older and wiser goalkeeper there to coach him he will be better this season/.

22 Jun 2016 18:51:22
I would agree with you, just on the point that Wes is suspect at set pieces/ cross balls, a keeper can win or loose u a match, players that played better than him are probably going to loose there first team place, kinda seems unfair for him to be number 1. And I still remember the game near the season end at Easter road, when he practically chucked it in his own net, I'm not convinced by Wes. Although I'm not expecting a woods, goram, or klos.

22 Jun 2016 15:06:46
GILKS?! 😳 Seriously? When I heard we wanted another goalkeeper I was thinking some to replace Wes! Surely there is someone else coming in aswell and Gilks will be back up to the back up.

22 Jun 2016 15:18:48
Nico just arrived Glasgow airport, on sky sports, what a great signing he will be . Fingers crossed he passes the medical .

22 Jun 2016 15:30:17
Gilks seems to be a bit of a professional bench warmer? I don't understand that one?

22 Jun 2016 15:40:52
Gilks is a terrific shot stopper, great professional. Will be a solid singing if he joins.

22 Jun 2016 15:42:44
Warbs obviously sees Wes as his No1. and wants experienced back up?

22 Jun 2016 15:52:31
I'm sorry but the "good shot stopper" goalkeeper had disappeared from the game. Most successful clubs have a sweeper keeper with good feet and can command the box! I don't want a good shot stopper, I want to see a commanding GK that teams are scared of.

22 Jun 2016 15:54:26
Also. Why let Bell go and replace him with Gilks? Both of them are similar in quality.

22 Jun 2016 17:38:22
Bell was a total bombscare 2 seasons ago we are well rid. Gilks is a really good pro I recon Wes has his work cut out to keep the Jersey. Watched quite a bit of him when he played that year in the premier league and I thought he was pretty solid in a pretty open team.

22 Jun 2016 14:35:57
Sorry guys I found him he's just out of Glasgow airport, he's on the news website, with pick coming out and a bad hair day lol c'mon Niko.

22 Jun 2016 13:48:56
Thought we were signing Alvarado from trabzonspor? looks like we are going for the cheap option signing matt gilks. would rather we didn't sign this guy tbh.

22 Jun 2016 14:22:01
Don't rate this guy at all. I was hoping that we were going to sign a quality keeper that would help us win the SPL instead we will have a goalkeeper that won't come off his line for crosses and this guy as back up. I can only hope that Kelly is given an opportunity!

22 Jun 2016 12:29:26
I guess Jason Cummings will def not be coming to Rangers as iv heard nothing about him for weeks. I'd love him at rangers good young talent just needs to sort his attitude out also an ex player I'd love at rangers that would be better that niko would be Vlad Weiss and he would come back in a heartbeat. Just my thoughts guys. Like what we done so far. Would be happier with a 27/ 28 year old centre back rather that 37 year old hill but in warbs I trust. So far!

22 Jun 2016 14:05:03
None of our stickers are goalscorers, they all do there best work outside the box. Cummings is a goalscorer imo who would drastically improve our team.

22 Jun 2016 12:26:33
Matt Gilks, for me is a very underwhelming signing. Yes he had a decent season for Blackpool a few years ago and yes he would be a decent back up if he had a top goalkeeper but we don't. Nothing against big Wes but he's got a lot to learn and I think we should have been signing a younger keeper to keep Wes on his toes?

22 Jun 2016 12:37:18
It's our first season up to the SPL after a long, financially crippling journey. I think the signings being made, including this one, are shrewd business and are absolutely what is necessary until we establish ourselves in the SPL and Europe again, not to mention also getting back the rights to make money from our clubs store sales.

We are targeting solid professionals with experience and on free transfers, it is exactly the place we need to be for this season, then we can look to build again in the seasons to come.

22 Jun 2016 13:17:10
Very well said Johan. Your spot on with that assessment.

22 Jun 2016 13:35:34
Very good point Johan. My only problem is why release a 29 year old decent keeper in Cammy Bell and sign a 34 year old who hasn't played a competitive game for over 2 years? I haven't complained about any signings we've made, I think every Warburton signing has been a good signing (jury is out on o halloran) but the Gilks one I dint understand unless his salary is a lot less than Bell of course.

22 Jun 2016 14:44:07
If we are serious about putting a team together that can make a serious challenge for the title we need a much better goalie than Wes.

I've seen Gilks playing for Blackpool first hand a couple of times and he is definitely a better keeper but he's a class down from guys like McGovern.

22 Jun 2016 14:44:55
I think warbs see's big wes as his first choice keeper and is only looking for a back up, bell wanted game time which he wasn't gna get! Gilks will be a decent number 2 when called upon but that's all I don't see him replacing wes as he's no better! I personally would've liked a big commanding keeper that pushed wes on a bit but that would've probably cost us a penny or two and I think the money that's available will go towards a finisher.

22 Jun 2016 11:37:33
Think MW and his staff would have given Kranjcar's injuries lots of consideration. There too shrewd to track a player for this amount of time and let the deal fall through because of past injuries. Just my opinion though.

Think some fans are just hedging their bets, age, list of injuries etc. It's a win win.

Sign him as expected, we have an experienced international we didn't think we'd get without Europe. Don't sign him and fans get to say they were right and "in the know".

As for it being less than 50/ 50. Give MW some credit. Kranjcar wouldn't even be having the medical in the first place if he had less than 50/ 50 chance of passing it.

22 Jun 2016 12:02:36
Totally agree buddy, Mark W does not take 50/ 50 chances, that's not how he goes about his business.
Anyway any sign of Niko in Glasgow yet?
For the Medical on Wednesday that just about every report and his lawyer said was happening.
I suppose just have to wait and see but no sign as of yet, c'mon Niko get that contract signed lol.

22 Jun 2016 11:19:16
I can't wait to the start of the season now to see this team in action. I think our squad last year was talented and played great Football most of the time, but was thin on the ground and lacked quality from the bench. This years squad looks like you could pick unlimited teams from it and it would be hard to say which was better. What 11 MW thinks is the best is anyone's guess.
Going by Rodgers's interview today he's pretty happy with what he has already and will only add 1 or 2. I think he's vastly overestimating his squad. He thinks because they are Champions they are worth another shot. They are Champions only in a league that had no competition, this year they will certainly have that.

22 Jun 2016 10:44:13
i totally trust the management team in who they are interested in and i'm sure they know what they are doing, i wonder what kind of wages Adam Rooney is on? he's a cracking striker.

22 Jun 2016 12:27:37
that was a bit random.

22 Jun 2016 09:59:10
How old if nickca jelavic these days, if he was under 32 I would like him back, I know he barely plays for West Ham or didn't, I don't know if he plays elsewhere. But still think he would have plenty left to offer up in the SPL. We seem to do okay with Croatians, nothing beets big Dado Prso, what a player he was, I always felt the man was so underrated as a technical footballer, some people thought of him as a war horse type. I'll never forget being at ibrox, Rangers v Porto 3-2 us, dado bust his head and was bandaged 😂 and still continued, my favourite ibrox European night lol late goal from that Greek defender we had. Can't remember or spell the Greek guys name lol.

22 Jun 2016 10:51:08
Jelavic is playing in china earning megabucks i think.

22 Jun 2016 14:41:17
Sotirios Kyrgiakos.

22 Jun 2016 09:33:13
One nil Warbs at the kelpies. Looked impeccable in club tie and navy suit. Brogers looked like a glazing sales man.

22 Jun 2016 09:19:59
I see puma have been forced to stop advertising the new kits, surely there must be negotiations to sort this out as both parties will want the dosh.

22 Jun 2016 07:47:23
Krancjar due for medical, wonder when he'll get swamped by the media at the airport. But I have heard a deal for him is no sure thing because he's had loads a niggling injuries of late. But let's hope it goes well and we have the player on our hands that Spurs had. Looking forward to this guy coming to Glasgow, whatever time that is?

22 Jun 2016 09:24:28
All this talk of injury and lack of fitness doesn't get me enthused tbh hope he turns out a good signing.

22 Jun 2016 10:48:26
Cosmos wanted to give him a new contract and other clubs were interested in him, if his injuries are bad then i doubt Cosmos would offer him a new deal.

22 Jun 2016 11:20:59
Hope your right mate and he's still a decent player at 31 he's not over the hill yet.

22 Jun 2016 07:36:25
Anyone else think Wes Fodderingham won't do in premiership? . Guys too young for me to have confidence that comes with experience in that position.

I appreciate that at his age he could start this season a better player after his first year to settle, but at this level he won't get time. A few sighs from the stand and he could be fu&bed.

Nothing against the lad, just making a point.

22 Jun 2016 10:51:45
he's a cracking shotstopper but struggles to save long range shots for some reason, be good to have someone else to give him competition for his place.

22 Jun 2016 11:47:03
He isn't good enough and will be found out if he remains our keeper. Rangers have always been renowned for having great keepers and if we are to challenge for the title we need much better than Foderingham.
