Wes has not been great, he is still young though. gills is far more vocal and better organiser and I believe that the defence would benefit from this. As I posted earlier crooks and windas played well together last season and I don't think our midfield are playing so great that they merit a start so give the guy a chance.

23 Nov 2016 17:44:01
If there was any game Crooks should get a run out in, it should be against Thistle at Firhill.

Less pressure from crowd at Ibrox for one thing. But given the fact that our next games include Hearts, Aberdeen, Hearts again, and Celtic late December, if he doesn't get a chance now, when does he?

First half of the season out injured is rotten but he needs a chance sooner rather than later.

23 Nov 2016 17:45:22
Prefer Wes, he's played reasonably well last few months! Gilks is terrible with his feet and I'm not sure about his shot stopping! Crooks will get his chance but the lad's not had match fitness in about a year so patience is needed!

23 Nov 2016 18:51:59
Wes and Crooks to start at Firhill on Saturday for me.

24 Nov 2016 09:53:20
Agree with you Thorn the Thistle game would seem the ideal chance to give Crooks a start. Andy Halli day is a true Blue sure but he is not a natural defensive midfielder and never will be. Who knows when Rossi ter will be fit again. So why not give someone a go who excelled in the role last year to the extent that he was in the League 2 team of the year even though he was out injured for the last few monthe of the season. He has to be given the chance to prove he can hack playing for us (like Windass has) . If I was him if he doesn't get a start soon I'd be asking to go out on loan some where as playing regularly (and well hopefully) may be the only way he can demonstrate his worth.

22 Nov 2016 18:42:44
agree rossiter, crooks, dodoo have potential. gilks is good, i would play him but my poin is we needed improvements not guys who can cover or maybe come good! transfer policy is poor imo. my team gilks, tav, keirnan. hill. wallace, crooks, haliday, windas, forrester, garner, moh.

22 Nov 2016 20:11:27
What's Wes done wrong to be dropped in your opinion mate?

22 Nov 2016 20:15:56
And what has Crooks done to merit a start?

22 Nov 2016 22:07:09
Wes is never a goalkeeper, he's a bombscare. A good team starts with a solid keeper who installs confidence in the defence . He doesn't do that.

22 Nov 2016 22:30:17
Foderingham has had more scary games than good games to be fair, he has had some good performances lately though.

Gilks is great competition for the gloves in my opinion.

22 Nov 2016 22:43:58
Foderingham is a very average keeper. If we ever want to seriously challenge Celtic we need much better than him. We need to build through the middle by getting a keeper, centre half, centre midfielder and centre forward then build the team round them. Currently we have no players in these positions to build a team around.

22 Nov 2016 23:53:22
I agree with what you are saying Biffo, the idea was the same from Warburton I guess.

Gilks, commanding keeper. (not the Best)

Hill, has done very well but he's done at the end of the season.

Barton, should have been the centre mid. So that leaves Rossiter, if ever out of the Med centre? Or possibly Windass?

Garner/ Dodoo; Garner is looking better as the games go on and Dodoo needs more opportunities.

There aren't any solid foundations in our team and the ones who do play well are to the end of their time (Miller) or inconsistent (Mckay) .

To get the type of player we need, we require funding or European football. To get European football would require those players and to get funding would require a Christmas miracle!

I'm joking, you get what I mean though. Hopefully there will be a funding option available in January for Warburton to secure some foundations.

23 Nov 2016 07:58:21
Dodoo is brutal. I can't see what anybody sees in him. I know he hasn't had the time to impress but the minutes he has had he has shown nothing. Where is this pace he was supposed to have? He never looks for the ball into feet and hides too often. A waste of a position on the bench for me. Hopefully he develops but not good enough at the minute i'm afraid.

23 Nov 2016 09:01:59
Crooks hasn't been given a start but has to get a chance sometime.

23 Nov 2016 09:30:45
if wes is such a bombs care when have we ever conceded a goal from him with the ball at his feet? never.

23 Nov 2016 11:53:49
Cee
I think he is a very average keeper and to progress to the next level we need much better.

23 Nov 2016 12:30:38
aye he is an average keeper but we have much more to worry about than the goalkeeper who has saved our bacon on a few times. I would feel comfortable with either our keepers in.
on the subject of dodoo I agree he needs game time but from what I have saw he looks like a big fairy to scared to actually do anything with the ball.

23 Nov 2016 12:02:36
An in form barrie mckay has to play imo. He's got more ability and technique than most of our forward line put together. Honestly fellow bears a lot of you guys are far too hard on young mckay! He has everything in his armoury to be a top, top player! I would, and have said before on here to play mckay as the number he wears on his shirt suggests! Play him in the no.10 role and give him a free role behind our main striker!

23 Nov 2016 16:05:02
With Crooks I believe that he needs to be given game time and I would play him to add a bit of strength to midfield instead of one of last season's Championship level players!

My biggest disappointment is Rossiter's injury problems, we could have a real quality players there.

In many respects I don't think we are as bad as some make out but I do believe that we lack leadership on the park, we lack aggression and the ability to look after ourselves and the team spirit that was there with the Souness and Smith teams is missing. McKay has all the skill of guys like Willie Johnston but none of the aggression and confidence. This is where the coaches need to play their part.

24 Nov 2016 13:30:59
I know mackay hasn't been on great form recently resulting in him being benched but the wee mans got great ability on the ball. I would play him on the right hand side to stop him cutting back let him beat his man and get ball in the box.

24 Nov 2016 14:29:03
I don't think this is the time to be constantly changing players about we need to go on a run of games and should only change if we have to.

at least for the next few weeks with hearts twice the sheep in between. we need results from these games to make sure everyone knows that second is our spot.

22 Nov 2016 17:41:48
hi fellow bears is there anywhere where we can get live text commentary for the under 20's for tonights game v partick? kick off 18:00.

22 Nov 2016 11:57:13
Fair play to the Jambos and wee Ann Budgie! Back in profit with a decent team and upgrading the ground?
It feels to me as if we are just firefighting?
I know King is doing his best but he really must be wondering what the hell he has got involved in after the debacle with Green and Fat Mike!

22 Nov 2016 17:14:13
It's good to see them opting for a more secure financial footing however it is to the detriment of the team! They are a worse team than the one that won promotion and calling them decent is generous imo!

22 Nov 2016 17:55:47
Well done to them, however budge does have an easier job than King in my opinion.

22 Nov 2016 18:00:04
@RFCinfinity - have too agree. I work beside a few Jambo's who contribute financially every month and most are moaning about the direction of the team under Nielson. They all say they played better football in the Championship.

22 Nov 2016 18:09:09
Probably still better than us at the moment in my opinion, and in profit we've got a long way to go! Hopefully we get rid of the fat man n we can start down the road to being self sufficient.

22 Nov 2016 19:05:20
No way are they are better side than us. Were 3-1 down to Hamilton at one point last night and by all accounts were very fortunate to get the penalty that brought them back into it. I fancy we'll beat them at Tyne castle.

22 Nov 2016 19:09:43
Of course they played better football in the championship. they were playing against championship teams.

22 Nov 2016 20:17:47
Seeker do you just make up stuff to suit your argument? The hearts penalty was a complete stonewaller .

22 Nov 2016 20:55:20
@tompo88 - I'm talking about the style of football ( well not me personally, the Jambo's at work were ) .

22 Nov 2016 21:10:20
Didn't see the penalty fansabidozie. Only going by what they were saying on the radio. I'll take your word for it. They are still not that good though.

23 Nov 2016 03:17:08
Seeker, same Hamilton we were lucky to get a draw against and we were at home! I do think, in fact I know we have a better squad than them, Warburton just can't get the best out of what we've got, mainly down to the fact he will never change tactics.

23 Nov 2016 16:08:38
Or, bible, because he doesn't have that win at all costs mentality which would be surprising for an ex London Trader! The next few games will be interesting. Put simply I believe that we need to take maximum points at all costs and to be blunt, it doesn't matter how we win so long as we win!

23 Nov 2016 22:00:51
Big Blue. Aye it's true we did struggle against them but it was our first game with a brand new team and hardly a pre season to speak of. I just think if we went there and slipped to 3-1 down there would be a mass exodus and the media would slaughter us for weeks. Hearts get no stick whatsoever. Another week Diddy club tight enough!

22 Nov 2016 06:23:07
seems clint hill is probably the only summer signing that has done well, maybe windas. the other 9 seem to be sub, why do we sign fringe players when we need to improve? heard from a good source that the big boy wood from leeds coming in jan, big striker.

22 Nov 2016 09:04:08
Gilks has been a good signing, almost cracking keeper to have for backup. We needed cover for LB and RB so Hodson was needed. Crooks, Rossiter and Dodoo are still young give them time. Kranjcar is an unfortunate one, injury at the point he seemed to be coming to full fitness. Senderos has been a waste.

22 Nov 2016 15:02:39
Where are we going to find 2.5 million for Chris Wood of Leeds, contracted till 2019.

22 Nov 2016 17:40:04
ChrisWood is another fantasy football clutch out of the air, the post is utter drivel in the first place. let's have some realistic banter for a change lads.

22 Nov 2016 18:06:26
Only time will tell with Rossiter but if we can get the boy fit and keep him fit then we will have a quality player. As for Crooks, I have no idea why he isn't getting a game. I would like to see him in the team ahead of Holt. Hodson is not a great player but we needed cover at full back and I believe that Dodoo has potential as does Windass. Gilks has proved to be a good signing, Krancjar was unfortunate with his injury and yes Barton was a disaster! Biggest problem however is still the fact that too many of the Championship side are simply not good enough for the top league!

23 Nov 2016 12:31:19
well hopefully we can get 2 million for waghorn lol.
