The ed..i must confess i miss the banter..ive been scowling down..no tax tax issues seem in sight..now is it time to return to a good footie banter wi our footie friends from the dark side...provided they talk footbal...which is all that matters {Ed001's Note - I much prefer the footie banter, I don't see the point in bantering about the tax issue, financial matters bore me to tears. I lived with an accountant for a few years, she was forever boring me with it as she was involved in a number of football-related admin issues but knew nothing about the game itself. Trying to watch the football while she is rattling on with some story about Leeds going into admin got a bit much and now this site was beginning to sound like her!}

Agree2 Disagree0

I must admit I never knew our friends from the East End were so clued in on financial matters. Perhaps the government should employ them to help us avoid another recession.

As much as I do agree Jela has been quiet, hes still got 5 spl goals so far, only 3 behind naismith, and the same amount as celtics top scorer, he doesn't look as good as last season yet, but hes hardly been anonymous

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Lafferty not half the player without him, i'd play 4-5-1 tomorrow dropping lafferty and playing naismith upfront

Ed If we lose the tax case and go into administration can HMRC make us sell Murray Park or make us sell players to cover the costs? If so then how much would that cover roughly? Thanks {Ed001's Note - no, because they can be claimed to be necessary for the business to continue, there is a very good chance that they will be kept regardless. The club can hire it out to local sides, as a gym, for events etc to turn it into a money making enterprise. It would be highly unlikely that Murray Park would be sold off. Players are a different matter, any reasonable offer would have to be considered, while youth teamers would get promoted to fill the gap.}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Sorry Ed, but I can assure you Murray park will be sold, and so it should be. This was nothing more than an ego trip for dm. It is completely unneccesary that we have 10 pitches, without even having a reserve team. It is a millstone round our neck and must cost a fortune to run. We can build pitches across from ibrox and that is going to happen {Ed001's Note - the club can use Murray Park to make money, they will not be FORCED to sell, they may choose to sell, but that wasn't what I was asked.}

Agree0 Disagree0

The walloper who said murray park should be sold is an idiot or septic minded or both

Agree0 Disagree1

Murray park has paid for its self. costed 8-9 million to build and we sold hutton for that and he was a product of murray park. So did wilson for 2mil rising to 5. Charlie adam who is one of the best midfielders in epl was also product of murray park. Now we see the likes of kyle hutton, jamie ness, ross perry, jordon macmillian, darren cole, hemmings and many more so MURRAY PARK is going nowhere.

Alexcee

Agree1 Disagree1

You cannot say Murray park has produced these players, a ground does not produce players, talent and coaching produces players. It makes no sense, and if we had four pitches does that mean that these players would not have come through, of course it does not. Mp may have paid for itself but that is not the point. Can you imagine what the running costs are, they must be huge, and in case anybody does not realise we are rooked. For every penny spent on the upkeep is less we can spend elsewhere. Mp is a noose round our necks and is the only realistic way to raise good money, either that or sell our players. I know which I would prefer

Craig Whyte vows to sack any Rangers employee who talks to the BBC
CRAIG Whyte has intensified his battle with the BBC by stating that any member of the club who speaks to the broadcaster, even in an off-the-record basis, “will never work for Rangers again”.

Incensed by what he calls an “institutionalised bias” against his club within the walls of Pacific Quay, Whyte re-iterates his intention to sue the broadcaster, adding: “Maybe the BBC are going to be paying the [HMRC] tax bill.”

In a wide-ranging interview, Whyte expresses thunderous views on the BBC and, as he sees it, the motives behind their documentary Rangers: The Inside Story, aired on Thursday evening. Whyte says that not only he is suing the BBC but that he is also considering taking legal action against one of the contributors in the programme.

Robert Burns, head of investigations at the government’s Insolvency Service, suggested that Whyte could have faced a two-year jail sentence for his involvement with a firm called Re-tex Plastic Technology in a period when he was disqualified from being a director. Whyte says he hasn’t actually seen the BBC’s investigation but is au fait with the allegations it makes, Burns’s suggestion of criminality being the most serious.

“On the basis of what I’ve heard the Insolvency Service said last night I’m looking into the possibility of suing them personally. For what he [Burns] said, he deserves to be sued personally. Because it’s a lie.”

The Rangers owner also states that his bitter foe and former chairman at Ibrox, Alastair Johnston, has been e-mailing him in the last ten days looking for £30,000 in expenses from when he was still in the chair at Ibrox. Whyte says the communication was friendly at first, but then last midweek it turned nasty when Johnston threatened to sue if the monies were not paid.
“There was this series of e-mails and I was really surprised,” says Whyte. “So then he puts a deadline of last Friday on it and said if I didn’t pay it he was going to sue. There was an overhanging threat of a law suit if I didn’t pay him.”

During the HMRC tax bill segment of the interview, Whyte concedes that he made an error by being so secretive for so long in relation to what he intends to do in the event of a worst-case scenario.

“With hindsight, I should have probably said more about this when I first came in but on the other hand we were battling to win the league at the time and I didn’t want to put negative issues out there. As soon as the league was over, I should have come out and said ‘Look, there’s a big job to be done here’. I should have got my message out a bit sooner.”

Administration, said Whyte, was very much an option in the case of a mammoth tax bill from HMRC. It is, he stresses, something that he is attempting to avoid but he argues that it might not be the nightmare that some have predicted.

“Other than a regrettable event in our history I don’t think it would be as bad as people think it might be.

“But that’s not what I want. It’s something I’d rather avoid, if at all possible.”

Meanwhile, Rangers manager Ally McCoist would not be drawn on any of the controversies that are swirling around his ears at present. “I’m not going to talk about any television programmes or anything like that – all I am going to say is that I spoke to Craig Whyte on Friday morning, as I always do, and we are both in total agreement that the most important thing is Sunday’s game at Tynecastle.

“We had a chat about the team, the players and the squad – as we always do – and we are both of the opinion, which we both feel is the right one, that at this moment in time the fans deserve to know that we are totally focused on the game at Hearts.”

Come on big Kirk Broadfoot please talk to someone at the BBC lmao. Only kidding lol.

Despite rangers being in such financail difficulties jelavic wont b sold. Even tho personally i think he should he has been very quiet this season so far. I think cash in on him and get someone else in who can do the job just as well while saving a few bob. Craig Whyt has al ready said he is looking for investment NOT to sell rangers. Futher investment can only b a good thing imo

ed what does whyte mean when he says he will go about the tranfer market different for now on {Ed001's Note - I am not sure, I haven't seen the context he has said it in, difficult to tell from just the words on their own. That is why newspapers can twist interviews to make it seem like people are saying quite different things from the truth.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

This is part of the interview.

The summer window was the first under Whyte’s stewardship and, speaking to STV, he says there have been a number of lessons learned to take forward.

“We’ve certainly reviewed how we handled things in the [summer] transfer window,” said Whyte. “I think we’ll perform much better in how we handle it overall in future transfer windows.”

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed its a strange one that because considering the signings were really cheap i thought some of them were good signings the likes of boconegra goian McKay and bedoya and Wallace but the only one i wasnt keen on was ortiz he cant get past a man but like a say it is a strange one i do wonder what he means by that maby he means he will put proper bids in for players rather then being 2 hundred thousand pound short of asking price then we don't get him

Agree0 Disagree0

Not convinced by either Ortiz or Wallace. Actually, Wallace may come good in time but Ortiz is most definately sh1te!

Morning Bears, I just about choked on my cornflakes there. The " Ginger Shrek " is in the papers saying that his ( his ) team will give someone a right going over, sooner or later... LMFAO, this could not be more appropriate, or ironic when, it just so happens to be Shellicks big fluffy Aberdeen pillow who are coming to town for their annual love in with the deluded runners up. We all know that it is almost a certain 3 pointer for the Dheclans. Sooner rather than later is a certainty tomorrow, let the big lie down begin Lol Rangers 'til I die ( nice one Lemon )

Believable3 Unbelievable0

That's a bit rich when rangers are playin the wee rangers tomorrow ?

Lenny

Agree1 Disagree0

The facts are there for all to see, the sheep lie down to the Dhims, ALWAYS ! Hearts got a 1v1 draw at Ibrox this season.... when is the last time the sheep got even a point against you shower ? Is this your way of conceding that we will beat the Jambo's, brothers in arms, cousins, fellow dhim haters ? and why are you always on here anyway ? Rangers 'til I die

Agree1 Disagree0

Above poster should check their facts , i can remember Aberdeen beating Celtic at least twice at Celtic Park in recent years and i can remember them beating us at Pittodrie 4-2, i would be prepared to wager that Aberdeen have taken more points off Celtic than Rangers in the last 6 seasons, and i do know that Aberdeen haven't beaten Rangers at ibrox since the old king died.......Stevie

Agree0 Disagree1

Stevie? another regular runner up who visits the Champions page, to sample what it's like to be with WINNERS ! Thanx for those wee stats, pleasant reading indeed lmao..... The sheep will still present the big fluffy pillow, matress and the comfort blanket tomorrow, because they are worse than you lot ! 4 in a row

Ed I can understand why you did not post my point earlier this morning but I hope you understand where I am coming from on that issue, so on 2 another point I do not know the in's & outs of tax issues but I noticed that MR WHYTE is disputing the 2.8mill tax bill on the grounds that it was from 6 years ago & was only served on RANGERS recently, I am sure MR WHYTE & his advisors are more versed in these matters than you & I but also on the big tax case do you think MR WHYTE is playing a clever game by letting every1 & their granny know that he could put RANGERS into adminastration if we lose the case, we all know that if this was 2 happen then hmrc would get nowhere near the money that they are expecting so they would look 2 strike a deal & also it has been said that lloyds were desperate 2 get the deal done this guaranteed their money first before any1 so if just happened 2 be 1 shrewd cookie who got ownership of RANGERS then so be it
NTYABOW {Ed001's Note - for starters, anything over 6 years old can not be chased, I forget the exact term, something like statute served or something like that. That is why you get debt collectors chasing up debts from 5 years ago, that is when people sell them on and the last chance for collectors to get anything. As for the admin issue, I am sure it was a calculated tactic, it must sow a seed of doubt and should get HMRC to accept a deal if they did win in court.}

I've been keeping up with all these reports and so called "investigative" shows... all i can see is allegations with little to no evidence(for example in this bbc documentary they kept going on about Whytes corrupt background but then 10 minutes later in the show they admitted that they have no evidence! ) Worry not bears... we are in a much better position now under Whyte than we were with Murray. The bbc seems to have a wee problem with Whyte but i wouldn't worry about that and going by this "documentary " they seem to have no proof of wrong doing in his past ! and afterall the whole of football is corrupt... the spl seeming to be one of the lesser so! ! We willl not go into administration and we will win the league!

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Best thing you can do is complain to the bbc. like i did this morning. may not get you any answers but the amount of people complaining will certainly not harm whytes case in fact it may just help

I'm assuming you mean accusations??
I know what he was insinuating, here it is, word for word:

Mr Whyte even as late as thursday on STV failed to mention his past bans, saying he had nothing to hide.
If I was a rangers fan I would want a man I could trust and have faith in running my club. A man that told the truth at all times. hail hail Timalloy {Ed001's Note - you keep telling yourself that, then try asking yourself why Celtic are in debt and yet still didn't get the training ground they were promised. Where did the money go for that?

*your post was actually confusing anyway because you speak in the past and present tense, we have a training ground and we're not in debt, pmsl.

Miko (smarter than the average bear!) {Ed001's Note - I fail to see what was confusing about it, but then I am not a bear, so maybe you aren't quite as smart as you would like to think.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0
