Ranieri for Rangers please. lol

23 Feb 2017 22:08:42
Could we afford the pizza?!

23 Feb 2017 22:56:17
That's what puts me off football nowadays. Leicester fc should hang their head in shame for what that man done for they're club., There's no loyalty in football now but what they've done to this guy is disgusting. He done the impossible and he is sacked 8 months later it makes you want to throw up.

24 Feb 2017 11:45:19
near choked on my breakfast at this thread, no loyalty, Rangers had a bloke who won his league by 11 points with a bunch of rejects they beat champions of the premier in Scotland in the semi of the cup and he added another trophy to the trophy room, managed to get this lot into second place, where is he now, well i think you can blame King for that one, he simply disliked the bloke, i still think Warberton would have gotten second place this season, but not now, we will be lucky to finish third and its down to the chairman i'm afraid

23 Feb 2017 20:38:46
Ranieri sacked wouldn't be at all surprised if Frank De Boer there in the morning sorry to the dilusional fans who think he is coming here with our budget and board god we don't even own our own strips wtf.

23 Feb 2017 21:23:14
He said he wouldn't ever take a club in mid season after how the Inter job went. So I can't see it .
Will be funny to see what odds on Ranieri for Ibrox in next couple of days lol

24 Feb 2017 21:47:06
What do my fellow bears think of the possibility of claudio ranieri becoming the new rangers manager? Would he be a good choice?

23 Feb 2017 20:09:51
Leicester City gave just sacked their manager - interim for us?

23 Feb 2017 20:09:16
Been following posts for long time but 1st time post. All these rumours of this manager and that manager! Well how about Claudio Ranieri! He's free now and look what he did in his first season at Leicester!

23 Feb 2017 21:25:26
Nigel Pearson did al the groundwork for Raniere. He created the mentality and this season proves it. Pearson would be a far better bet.

24 Feb 2017 21:37:28
Pearson is a nutter! A total nutter!

24 Feb 2017 22:17:17
Ritereg, you can do all the groundwork you want mate, but it was claudio ranieri who managed leicester city to win the league, simple as that! Put it this way, i would 100% say here and now that nigel pearson wouldn't have won the league as leicester manager! It was ranieri who turned them into champions! So credit, where credit is due!

23 Feb 2017 19:59:03
What stone did Derek Llambias crawl out from under?

High time he was brought to account for his actions .

23 Feb 2017 21:30:40
Seen that yesterday That horrible little worm has got some cheak talking about dk like dk or not that's for us fans to debate not him who helped put us is in this mess and used to sit there with his smarmy little grin he is just angry because king put him out of a tidy little job were he was taking the total piss out of us. he should shut his mouth and crawl back up Ashley's ass a die!

23 Feb 2017 19:57:47
Ranieri sacked At leicster
Another candidate to The list.

23 Feb 2017 18:45:48
Alex Mcleish till the end of the season then frank De Boer

23 Feb 2017 19:02:35
leonardo jardim is very interested in taking over this summer

23 Feb 2017 19:26:03
He will manage a team in the EPL.
Linked with Arsenal.
Maybe you could sign him up on Football manager

23 Feb 2017 17:24:54
Tell me why do we all want de boer. i'd rather have somebody that knows maagment inside out. de boer not really cutting the mustard. we don't have money so has he got track record of bringing players through or are we just going back to dicks time where we have loads dutch in our team but this time they be second rate players.

23 Feb 2017 18:02:59
because he is a class above the other contenders and he is one of the best young managers around. He is very sort after by lots of clubs for a reason and he is in another league then the likes of McGinnis. wright and Davis. Offer them four out to any club in Europe they would all chose de boer

23 Feb 2017 18:44:38
deboer has won 4 Dutch championships and won't cost anything in compensation .

23 Feb 2017 20:15:21
His Ajax team was pathetic

23 Feb 2017 21:32:05
His Ajax team would beat us about 6.0

23 Feb 2017 21:39:59
They won 4 titles on the trot and lost the chance of a fifth on the last day of the season so your probably right they where pish

23 Feb 2017 21:40:14
Sorry pathetic

24 Feb 2017 08:38:10
They couldn't even beat a pish poor Celtic team haha, yeah he won the league but they were like Celtic under dila bus

23 Feb 2017 12:31:59
A natural reaction to critisim is to go out and prove your doubters wrong surely. I don't even think Keirnan and Halliday are that bad. They just keep making the same mistakes over and over and over again. They say a coo will only lick an electric fence once and then remember how much it hurt first time and never do it again. Now I'm not suggesting for a minute that these boys have the same intellect as a coo but when you hurt yourself and your team and the tens of thousands of supporters who canny wait for the weekend to come round to see their team play (altough that has been less of a problem for me lately) and you keep making the same mistakes over and over (getting caught in possession 30 years from your own goal to name but one) you really have to question the mentality of these boys. Surely your first thought when you get the ball in that area (Halliday your the holding midfielder this is your domain) surely the only thing in your head at that moment is keep the effing ball. The opposition players recognise me as a weak link so their going to be right into me in a matter of seconds "DO NOT LOSE THE BALL" turn and go look for options ahead or on the wings
Failing that put it back to your goalkeeper. But no, he's facing his own goal, his touch is awful, he turns slower than the titanic the opposition are onto him

23 Feb 2017 15:25:17
Halliday is not a Holding Midfield player and shouldn't be deployed in that area. Either he plays further up the park or if he is not good enough for that role then he should be now there near the team.

The fault, that he plays in that role and continues in that role despite being at fault for goals week in, week out, is not his. It is the fault of management!

What I would criticise him for, (since he is supposedly a died in the wool bluenose), is his lack of commitment, his lack of fight and his lack of guile. Indeed I reckon that LVB hit the nail on the head when he questioned his mentality. He is not, for me, the brightest of people. In the recent Celtic game, with Brown booked early on and controlling the midfield, someone with a bit of intelligence would have had the guile to get him a second booking and a red card!

As for Kiernan, for a big guy he sure lacks fight and solidity. He should be commanding that penalty box in the air, he should be attacking and winning every ball in the air, but then if the coaching staff don't coach you to play the ball in the air what chance do you have!

23 Feb 2017 17:44:52
Tomusa, Halliday has been playing in this so-called unfamiliar position for the best part of two seasons so there is no excuse for his ineptitude.

24 Feb 2017 13:55:43
I agree with most of what you are saying about Halliday. However he isn't slow at all. Remember he was a winger in a past life and even in recent games I remember him outpacing midfielders to bring the ball forward. His main problem as far as I can see is that he is far too casual in possession and often not aware of players around him. I think he is playing with a winger's mentality, ie if he loses possession in a forward area the repercussions are often not serious.

If he loses possession in front of the defence it often causes big problems. And yet I've seen him play a blinder in odd games (the semi final last year for example) but it very rarely happens now. As you say opposing players can predict what he is going to do and they close tight on him. And you are right about it being of paramount importance that the ball is not lost in his area of the field. I genuinely think he has still not grasped the concept. It's so frustrating as I think there is a very decent player in there.

24 Feb 2017 18:32:43
Could someone enlighten me as to where is the natural preferred position of Andy halliday?

23 Feb 2017 12:09:26
I remember a Sheep player once came out in the papers slagging off Boydy for being fat and slow and how he'd be in his back pocket all afternoon the next day. Only for Boydy to score a hattrick and absolutely destroy them. I wish we had that sort of character in our squad now. It just seems like the guys know their rubbish but they just don't care. Don't get me wrong I've a had a few jobs like that but it eats away at you and is not fulfilling. All I'm asking is you put some effort in and show us you care

23 Feb 2017 15:26:41
Maybe it has something to do with the attitude of previous management that has rubbed off on the players just like the aggressive nature of Souness, Wallace etc., showed in the competitive nature of teams under their guidance!

24 Feb 2017 13:58:07
Spot on they have to go out and leave everything they have on the park for our great club. The fans to a man and woman would do it given the chance, why shouldn't they?

23 Feb 2017 12:09:08
Imo I think what Martin O'Neil said about this Rangers team is spot on! This is the poorest Rangers team possibly ever. Full of rejects and injury prone duds these guys would not have got on our bench in past teams but now our squad is filled with them. Also football has changed its all about being hard to break down defensively then being clinical on the counter that should be our new mantra not pass the ball to death and not win games!

23 Feb 2017 12:31:37
O'Neill's no fool. This team would lose out to Ally's who at the very least were prepared to put in tackles and take the knocks.

23 Feb 2017 13:37:48
Be realistic, poor as we are, we are better than when McCoist was in charge. He couldn't win the championship.

23 Feb 2017 14:44:04
Cuillin72 - would love to agree with you, but in the last few months we have went backwards - -other teams are licking their lips at the thought of 'having a go' at this bunch of duds. I think Ally's lot, bad though they were, would have fancied their chances.

23 Feb 2017 15:30:48
O'Neill is correct in what he says. McCoist's teams lacked coaching and management but against premier league opposition I suspect they would have shown more fight and more guile than the current bunch. We are seriously in need of at least four top class players, with that level of skill in the team we might see better performances from some of the others. Much as I liked Warburton's passing style he really turned our team into a bunch of 'softies' with no aggression, no team spirit and no fight! He took away the mentality that is needed to play for rangers!

23 Feb 2017 17:13:32
Warburton's Rangers at least knocked Celtic out of the Cup less than a year ago with a bit of panache too.

Does anybody remember the 'fight' in Rangers when we faced Celtic the year before?

Ok, Ally walked just beforehand as he didn't have the fight himself to take on Celtic and technically it was Kenny MacDowall's side but it was still Ally's players and I don't remember any fight, any shots at goal and Lee McCulloch laughing and joking with Scott Brown as they walked off the pitch at half time.

We are undoubtedly a much better team than we were then.

24 Feb 2017 13:10:12
Complete nonsense about this team would lose out to mccoist. His team couldn't get out of the championship and got humiliated against motherwell in play offs. A decent tactical manager could get this team to 2nd easily.

24 Feb 2017 14:00:47
Aye this team would have beaten Ally's team no problem. I think we have some good players throughout the squad. A few changes and additions and the right man in charge would make a helluva difference, I'm certain of it.

23 Feb 2017 12:01:47
Foderingham

Hodson Wilson Bates Wallace

O'Halleron Forrester Hyndman Miller

Dodoo Garner

23 Feb 2017 15:19:01
Fancy giving 442 a bash, but not that team selection.

23 Feb 2017 15:31:47
Interesting selection and certainly couldn't be any worse that the ones that have Kiernan and Halliday in the side!

23 Feb 2017 22:20:14
Halliday should be with the Union Bears Choir and no were hear a football

23 Feb 2017 08:59:21
Alnwick

Hodson
Bates
Hill
Wallace

Forrester
Holt
Hyndman
Ohallaran

Miller
Garner

Go wi that.

23 Feb 2017 09:28:50
Sorry Steiny but you'll have to choose a different centre back as Hill is definitely out injured. Wilson would be my shout, being the least worst of the other three. Think Holt would be lucky to start as he's done nothing for months so I'd go with Toral in the hope he can finally show some form. Otherwise I'd go with the rest of your pick and hope to God they show some fighting spirit after last week's sorry display.

23 Feb 2017 09:29:35
Forresters lost it turned into a perma tanned pansy fought like feck last year seems to have gone from his game this year a do agree wi a 442 tho

23 Feb 2017 12:05:45
A thought holt for his legs. if he's out got to be wilson then as your right he's the next best out the bunch

24 Feb 2017 10:46:11
Id go with that aswell. But replace Hill with the young lad Myles Beerman. Looks a fantastic prospect. Bates and Beerman together would bring energy and hunger into a side who look like there only there for the cheque. Heads need to start rolling at Ibrox. Whether its from the captain or the manager i don't know but the current squad need a severe wake up call

24 Feb 2017 11:57:47
Toral is far too lazy and slow to play middle of the park

24 Feb 2017 12:00:32
Jo Dodoo needs to play if we are to score goals.

23 Feb 2017 05:30:43
Just reading about davie cooper he quoted when he stopped playing with us I played for the team I loved oh to have him back now thoughts?

23 Feb 2017 00:15:31
