Heard Charles Green was at Murray Park today finalising the name change for Ibrox. Should be in the papers tomorrow. reportedly £2.5 per annum.

Believable3 Unbelievable26

Is it not 2.5m all in?

Agree17 Disagree5

Try £1.5m up front rising to £2.5m if targets are met, for three years.

Agree15 Disagree9

Alot of people seem to know the contracts in and outs... When did rangers publish them?

Agree14 Disagree8

States no profit for club this year..hence need for re naming...still need to cut wages and costs...

Agree14 Disagree7

What happened to the we will be in a better financial position than any other club in Scotland, now its we have no money lets sell the name, what next the talented player getting sold to line his pockets.

Agree16 Disagree8

Diversification - branching out to expand and find other ways of generating revenue.

Agree4 Disagree7

@5 . Good to see some fans questioning green now.

Agree13 Disagree6

He said rangers will have a better bank balance than celtic. celtic are coining it.

There are high running costs. CG says Gers will be operating at a profit next season. We could be in profit come the weekend if we shed staff however keeping staff in place because he wants them in place for the top flight.

Agree0 Disagree6

@8 did you miss celtics last set of accounts, they lost of 7.7 million last year

@10--- can't argue with your facts..what were rangers accounts last year?? oops sorry you didn't have any or the year before and possibly this year....remember every year of no audited accounts means another deferred year of entering the top league and of course competing in europe....maybe that's Greens plan as he did say he would extend stadium IF confident rangers will be playing in CL every season so therefore if no european football there is no need to spend money on expanding stadium and no fall out; as he would be keeping his word as usual ??
p.s. celtic losses are manageable thus no administration and revenue from this season will off set a lot of debt....but you are in a better situation debt free!! millions in bank!! top notch squad!! winning games every week!! touring the country in SFL3 no wonder all the wee teams in top league are envious ......take time to think what would you prefer, 1) what you have or 2) a little manageable debt and sitting at the top table of europe....if unsure ask Mr Green...JohnnyG

Just a thought and if its been said before I apologise but in my opinion if there is 10 mill sitting there for transfers would it not be wiser to go and get the best coaches and scouts to find and coach the best youngsters and build a team for the future rather than wait til next january and waste it on 30 year old has_beens? This is a once in a lifetime chance to learn from our mistakes and build something that will self fund us for generations to come. Our best players so far have been barrie mackay, lewis mccleod, heggarty, little and other young academy boys. I know people want success but look at what barca hav achieved by moulding a group of boys into world class players, it doesn't happen overnyt but in time it is worth it.

Believable32 Unbelievable11

If its that easy why isn't everyone doing it

Agree7 Disagree11

Hearing there's some interest in Rangers players this window, with sfl3 in the bag with a shed load of points and playing the same bottom tier clubs next season, we actually don't need them. Rangers will win this season and next even if sell three first 11 guys, and make some critical cash. Certainly no need to buy for 18 months.

Agree10 Disagree16

Your on the money mate Celtic are doung a very good job of that as we speak I posted weeks back it would be worth the £10million to steal there Scouts not that I want that too happen I just think our Transfer policy has been shambolic for years!

I'm a Celtic fan and doubt very much this will make the post, but I like a lot of lads from England read all ya can about Scottish football as we don't live it day in day out up ther, but the joy of rangers fans on other teams more spl teams in Scotland having a hard time with money worries just goes too the truth of what most rangers fans mind frames are, not all but in my mind most, Celtic are in a very very healthy position financialy, but I feel sorry for these teams I grew up watching week in week out and as a fan of the game in Scotland didn't want too see rangers out of the spl I live for those games with the old enemy, but the fact is rangers and rangers only done this they put themselfs in to liquidation with most fans knowing what that ment so could any of the rangers fans that are enjoying the struggles of the cash strapped clubs please tell me why they want these teams too faulter and why they deserve it, jodrok

Believable30 Unbelievable36

Simple, these cash strapped clubs put the boot in thinking they would prosper without Rangers and they would get a bigger share of the spoils, has it happened? No because there is simply not the interest and with ESPN likely to pull the plug what will happen then, SKY offer a take it leave it offer and Scottish Football plummets to new depths. With only one club likely to prosper, my thoughts only!
But wait a minute this new exciting league structure no one understands or wants who exactly will that benefit, answers on a postcard please.

Agree24 Disagree25

I don't want to see any other club going to Admin or have troubles except maybe Dundee Utd Lol infact much the opposite i'd rather see hard cash ploughed into our game succesfully to raise the bar again let the teams hold on to there best young players. i'd love to see someone outside of the OF win the league but also to be able to qualify for group stages of european competition rather than getting beat off the dross!
Before the Celtic fans tell me they're through the group stages of the CL this threads for all us small minded bears that want every other club to die so we can just play in a league of our own to make it 55 & counting!

Larky Bear

Agree13 Disagree15

Op. Did you feel sorry for rangers fans last Feb or did you revel in our temporary demise as all Celtic fans did.? The reason some rangers fans are having a a snigger is perhaps because the fans of most SPL clubs wanted rangers out the way for sporting reasons they claimed and stated they would turn up to support their teams . And they haven't so if these teams do fold it is partly their fault. Not ours.

Agree19 Disagree19

We were told you reap what you sow. If other teams are faultering why shouldn't they be told the same?

Agree29 Disagree15

Why do you think we should be explaining anything to you [septic fan]. open your eyes and look closer to home for the truth,
your rank rotten of a chairmen and his cohorts at the Septic FA and SPHELL are to blame.
oh, and if you`s are so financially secure why don't you`s and your pals in the sphell f..k off and stop trying to use us as your cash cow, as you have been doing for the past 100 years. DO ONE !! R/R

Agree17 Disagree33

Old firms matches could still happen, rangers just need to meet them in the cups competitions.

Agree6 Disagree12

Ok explain this then please. Why do Celtic fans want Rangers out of buisness. They were desperate and I mean goeding with venom for Rangers to shut down. Tueche mate.

Agree14 Disagree17

I don't know any Rangers fans personally that want to see any other team go through what we went through. Infact I would say the majority of Rangers fans feel like that also. I hope yiu took a loook at other teams forums and asked them why they wanted my team to shut down jodrok.

Agree6 Disagree11

Jodrok. I for one don't want teams to suffer and cease to exist! but I also didn't want my team to be bullied and blackmailed into handing over its tv monies to the spl! or to face not being promoted to the second division because again the spl have decided to throw out the rule book just to suit themselfs. I just don't want my team to be a financial crutch anymore to these teams that can't support there selfs anymore ! there crowds have dwindled so infact there own supporters have turned there back on them and I for one won't stand for lies being spread about my team anymore why should i?...mark.

Agree11 Disagree11

Spl fans will see their clubs go to the wall because of the hate shown to rangers theyve cut of their nose to spite their face and at least 3 spl clubs will go next season for a start

Agree14 Disagree18

Every other club enjoyed our financial struggle and mocked us, so think of it as our right to enjoy ther struggle.

Agree15 Disagree14

They seem to be getting confused by " OUR HOUR OF NEED " instead of "OUR HOUR OF GREED "

Agree9 Disagree6

Where do I start¦¦¦¦.? Yes Rangers went into liquidation; this was due to Mr Whyte not paying the bills, this coupled with a BIG TAX CASE forcing the bank to push Mr Murray into selling to whatever conman came along only for the Tax man to be proved wrong, the delay in the verdict also made the club un saleable to any right thinking business man. The situation we face now is that Due to the mismanagement of other clubs by their chairmen, a mad dash for league reconstruction as a way of keeping themselves afloat, keep Rangers in the bottom rung of Scottish Football changing the goal posts at every turn. Remember all these clubs took the moral high ground spouting guff about sporting integrity yet self- preservation at all costs is the true desire. Yes Celtic are in a good position at the moment, but make no mistake, with falling attendance a drop in sponsorship and TV money the whole of Scottish football is on its knees. Think about it this way a single team playing at home can have regularly more fans at their game than the rest of the senior leagues in the country combined, how is that sustainable long term? So when Rangers fans take pleasure at the problems of other clubs its not as great or as damaging as the Joy taken by each and every other SPL clubs sick pleasure taken at the pain at rangers, The Jackals have filled their bellies and all that's left is the bones of Scottish Football, some are going to starve into oblivion. .......Wibblyblue

Agree21 Disagree14

The OP says Rangers did it to themselves. Well, the other teams whop are struggling financially have done it to themselves, they have only themselves to blame. Rangers got no sympathy, in fact many gloated, so why should we have any sympathy for them?

Agree12 Disagree7

Yes we all.laughed at rangers demise and yes we all put the boot in but that'd whay rivals do I fot onr love the banter of our rivalry not the.bigotory and ill gladly admit I miss the celtic v rangers games thr build up the gloating after words rven having to take it on the chin and swearing next time it will br diffrent rangers past owners are to blame for the mess and only to blame the other clubs wouldn't hav had the decision to make if it wasnt for the actions of theese people I for one am obssesed as rangers fans like to remind us because the rivalry we share is great and an important part of life for many I work drink and am related to many rangers fans and love the wind ups and no matter the old co new co debate I no the braging rights will shift one day hopefully not for a long time but I for one await your return

Mark Dingwall, of the Rangers Supporters Trust, said: "The groundswell of opinion is we've had a successful share issue so why do we need to sell the naming rights?

Believable12 Unbelievable10

Finally, supporters groups coming out and looking for some degree of accountability. Pity they're doing it now its Rangers as they weren't as vocal when it was Murray & Whyte.

Agree20 Disagree5

He's 1 guy I have no respect for, he done nothing when Craig whyte was ruining the club, couldn't care less what these supporters trust people say anymore.

Agree27 Disagree1

Where were they all when our club was dying?!

We should've had an equivalent to Celts for Change but all we mustered was £600K in the RFFF!

If we had proper organisations we could've put together a decent CVA and got the club rather than seeing it go to liquidation and having to reform and reapply to the SFA etc.

There's a lot of people whom need to hang their heads in shame for destroying 140 continuous years.

Agree25 Disagree5

The reason Green going to sell the naming rights is staring everyone in the face, is that he's selling all the family silver then running back over the border. If you think otherwise you are burying your head in the sand.

Agree21 Disagree5

If a good business man makes money out of something why would he stop? Expect more money making ideas from now on. He's not here because he loves the Gers, he's here to make money. No one else wanted to do it but him so that's how it is.

Agree8 Disagree4

Dingwall is a publicity seeking ar*ehole who is more interested in his own views than that of the majority he claims to represent, he can shove his outdated Neanderthal views right up his oversized rearend

A pity the Arsenal shares are already gone. That could have been a nice wee earner for him.

@3 you are getting a bit confused, Celts for changed never raised any money to save their club. In fact they had no impact at all on the decision of Mccann to come in at the last minute

Also an acceptable CVA was impossible due to the decision to delay the announcement of the tax tribunal despite the deliberation taking only 20 days or so

Agree3 Disagree7

@ JG; Slightly wrong there. Brian Dempsey met with celts for change reps and the assurance that they would back, and encourage, fans to buy into a share issue was instrumental in seeking out investors. He got mccann on board because of this
