The squad never stayed overnight so let's say it was 50 quid per head x 20 - a grand all in! FFS get a grip bears we are still the rangers not a Sunday league team

{Ed039's Note - Thats not the point, its only 95 miles from Ibrox FFS, hours to the game by coach)

Ed we got much bigger issues than this, this is just another small thing being blown out of proportion

JG

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah not a problem at these prices even Ally could offer to pay for all, in fact maybe when he read his contract he might discover it is part of it. Seriously though why in current circumstances (regardless of how much) should in anyway there be this additional cash going out.

Agree0 Disagree0

I feel that although Wallace must produce a plan to sort out the whole structure, it would help the moral of the support if he could show a couple of major savings he intends, to make ends meet.
This would be outwith any cuts in players wages and/or numbers.
I agree that travel expenses etc. must be trimmed but JG is right, so Mr Wallace target the bigger issues first.
Unfortunately, we are not in a position that looking after the pennies will enable the pounds to look after themselves.

Agree0 Disagree0

Op - that was the chepo internet deal. but you don't get the point. even if it was 2 grand it would be 'cheap' - but only if RFC could afford it. start looking it this way.

How many fans season tickets does each of these little jaunts cost. and could the money be better spent. Wake up - its the 3rd tier of Scottish football and most of the opposition that day had to be working at their day jobs

Agree0 Disagree0

JG. what planet you on. back in angolia and under tooo much sun?

15% pay cut on Thursday, let's spend 1000 for one away game, like we never need to be careful with money. ?

no wonder no one knows where £22m gone, and about the £14m owed by club (with owns ibrox) to company?

history will repeat if we never learned any lessons from last time. What did you think of the Dunfermline game you said you were going to.?

Agree0 Disagree0

Yet again the spivs get the heat took off with simple tactics that ally falls for. he is their scape goat he and the team takes the hit over a small matter yet they fulled their pockets

Agree0 Disagree0

OP - if you feel that the stop off and expense is justified then seriously you need your head examined.
Its that type of wasted expenditure that has seen the need for 15% cuts and serious concerns of what happens after Wallaces 120 day judgement period.
Oh and another thing, bigger question mark hangs over the hotel itself. It's a creditor due approx £4k!

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry JG be it 1000 or 50,000 over the season, we can't afford it, just because we are Rangers doesn't mean we have to have the best of everything there is to get? that's exactly the mentality that has got us to this sorry state we are in from the Murray days. Cost cutting needed? but hey ho let's not start now. as we have a little booking at a plush hotel to go to? in fact let's not stop any of that stuff and get the players and staff to take large pay cut or even better let's pay a load them off as well. That is the sort of accountants that we don't need. Wallace 120 days to fix the probs started and what's happened??? we won't know because they won't tell us? But they will tell us they need players to take a pay cut? strange way of doing buisness?

It seems by reading the posts here and on various other sites the consensus is a lot of bears are beginning to question Ally's role in the overall picture. For sure over the past couple of seasons he has been instrumental in the sale of season books, however with the support for him dwindling and the desperate need for fans to take up season books for next season, would it not make business sense to change management structure by bringing a new team and thus rejuvenating the fan base with the prospect of something better and exciting than what's currently on show week in week out. Whilst the past two seasons have been a novelty the real return to the top start in the championship next year and what better way to start than introducing the prospect of something different.

How many are going to renew their season books if the same board are in place in the summer

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I will be renewing mine. Admin a possibillity with ST sales. It is a ceartinty without them. Don't ever want to go through this embarresment again.

Agree0 Disagree0

I won't be renewing until I see changes in the way the club is run and Stockbridge is sacked. You have to make a stand somewhere. I will pick and choose which games I go to but with a heavy heart. I'm not funding the Spivs any longer
Coisty09

Agree0 Disagree0

I would like nothing more than to stand firm and not hand over another buck untill we have the necessary change but as the above poster stated, another admin would be a disaster and I want no part in it.

Agree0 Disagree0

As I have stated previously I will not be renewing my ST I will pay as you go once the people who call the shots ie the institutional investors the ones that put the board in place, the ones that kept stockbridge in place regardless of how us fans felt, once these spivs show me some long term commitment by investing in the club ( and I don't mean buying more shares as that is not investing in the club) then I will do the same

Agree0 Disagree0

No one should buy a season ticket till all the lying thief's are gone, all of them, amen

Agree0 Disagree0

Mr wallace said pre agm that they had investers standing bye waiting to invest I wonder were they weny thus he should not need book money to sort out our current money problems

Wallace hasn't even gotthe chair warm. we need to give him some time to assess the crap and start telling the fans what he can do to cut costs AND to raise more money.

More likely that I will not renew if Ally is still serving up the style of football that we are having to endure! Part time teams are playing a better style of football than we are. so what are the 3 Amigos doing with the players at Murray Park. certainly not teaching them to pass the ball or cross the ball.

McCoist has only lost one game and drawn one all season. Who has won more "Manager of the Month" awards for the Division? Graham Muir of Stranraer. because his team plays good attractive football and wins games on a shoestring budget.

Wonder if he is being paid £400k a year?

Agree0 Disagree0

Not saying I would want admin again but who is to say it would not be best thing for the club. The last admin was a fiasco and only one group was ever going to get in. Totally rigged. If there was a transparent admin event it could- only could- lead to a clear out allowing the right crowd to come in. I feel some folk are actively hoping for it, many things going on behind closed doors.

Agree0 Disagree0

#8. here here, its the only way forward, it gets rid of all the in one hit

Agree0 Disagree0

Lochaberbear, buying a season ticket is not investing in the club. I take it by picking your games you mean you will be at the Hearts game next season how shallow is that? Rangers need us now more than ever yet its now people are choosing to turn their backs on their own club, I really don't get it.

To all the fans/posters having a go at ally with the size of his squad and players budget may I suggest they red the interview with Dave King in todays herald
r. f

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Crazy thing to ome out with from DK. I think he's hoping for another admin so that he can pick up shares on the cheap myself

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah OP if you read past the headline he says the current shareholders don't have the money to fund Ally's spending. that's what we're all saying too. This is just another piece by King trying to promote himself as someone who would spend big on the squad IF he was an influential shareholder. King is right of course, IF we had shareholders with money to spend on the team that would be the thing to do. Duh! Well worked out King. Fact is we DONT. Nor does that look likely to happen any time soon. So its time Ally tries plan B if he has one.

Agree0 Disagree0

Your obviously missing the point about why the majority on here are criticising Ally. He is playing in the 3rd tier of scottish football against part time teams and it's still costing £6-7m a year for the squad. There are hardly any young players playing and over paid journeymen with no longterm future at the club are in front of them. The standard of football is poor. A better manager would achieve the same results with a lot smaller wage bill and would have been able to develop and integrate young players into the squad. This is clearly not happening under Ally and there is no longterm strategy for the team

Agree0 Disagree0

Although I seek the return of Dave King and other investors to put more money into the current model would be like building a house on the sand.
Another couple of points r. f, Mr King is not always correct and no matter what he says Ally will never be able to manage a top level club.
We must regroup, eliminate all trace of Green and most importantly trim our expenditure and live within our means.
To continue as we are has only one end and that will not be spl glory.

Agree0 Disagree0

For Dave King to come in the current shareholders would need to agree to dilute some of their investment OR pour more money in to maintain their current control. Now I cannot see that happening because these are Institutional Investors or Capital Venturists, they are not interested in Rangers winning titles, or the tem playing wonderful football, the fans singing their praises they are only interested in making money. If you ask them to dilute their investment then that will be seen as throwing good money after bad and these people do not do that. I think they will sit quite happily till Rangers maybe reach the SPFL and by that time the costs base will be very low and the club will then start to make a profit form increased tv, sponsorship, season ticket prices etc and they will then see a return on their investment. On the other hand if Dave King is serious he could offer to buy them out then he could dilute his shareholding and sell to the fans, but that didn't exactly pull up the heather the last time it was floated. Rangers will need somewhere in the region of 10-15 million if they get to the SPFL and that is a lot of money. Dave King is a successful businessman and he obviously knows what the problems are but the main problem he cannot influence is the people who hold the majority of the shares and unless he is willing to wave goodbye to the best part of £20-£25 million to buy them out then like everyone else their opinion is neither wanted or listened to.

Agree0 Disagree0

N3 if the team is only using 30 percent of the money then we would get bye no bother at all its the cents in the boardroom that should have questions to answer like what happened to the other 40 million

Like most rangers supporters I would like to take this opportunity in wishing our former legendary captain barry ferguson all the luck in the world in his first steps in management as the new blackpool manager, I reckon he'll make a terrific manager and one day he'll be the rangers manager in my opinion, I was reading this morning that he's wanting to sign ex rangers pair kris boyd & alan hutton along with ex motherwell winger jim o'brien, three very good signings in my opinion, BIG RAM!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

“He wants to sign Boyd and Hutton” Management the Rangers way = jobs for the old boys.

Agree0 Disagree0

Or buying decent players he knows and trusts.

Agree0 Disagree0

Think Hutton would be a good signing but Boyd couldn't cut in the championship a few years ago so why would he cut it now?

Agree0 Disagree0

If Boyd is given good service he'll finish all day long. Good luck Barry.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed039's Note - David Goodwillie is his preferred choice by the looks of things)

@1 you had my hopes up there, I thought you were talking about Kyle Hutton!

I need to highlight the misinformation that is being spun by the media about our wage bill. It's said it's 30% of the overall turnover and what a wonderful % of the overall total that is. Wrong and here is WHY

1)Our turnover for 13 months was just over £19m BUT included in that is 2 batches of season books so that turnover is a ONE OFF
2)Charles Green said that the 1st team wage bill was over £7m and we have 55 players and how many coaches?- how many of these players and coaches are 1st team

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Mullad - why make an issue out of this?

the accounts are what they are,

a record of the income and expenditure until the 30th june 2013

the next yearly accounts will be a record of income and expenditure until 30th June 2014

The overwhemlming issue regarding the accounts was the overspending of 14m quid which you haven't even mentioned

its now beyond ridiculous what some fans are complaining about

JG

Agree0 Disagree0

Or the £16m debt incurred from club to company.

Also the revaluation of £5 purchased assets (ibrox, MP) as adding £20m to the balance sheet. wtf?

expect same revalueation this year, so club owes company £20-£30m.

remember according to books, they made a small profit. ?
