Remember Craig Beattie from Celtic just posted a picture of himself on his facebook pointing at a tattoo on his left peck of a rangers tattoo Wot does everyone make of that ???

{Ed010's Note -Don't know if you are aware but Craig Beattie was on Rangers books as a schoolboy and was a diehard Rangers fan. He was released by Dick Advocaat and promptly signed for Celtic.

Believable6 Unbelievable0

Im a big rangers fan and used to play for Celtic when I was younger for a couple of seasons and played against craig Beattie! For him to call me a not so nice name that can get u in all sorts of trouble now! So I can say first hand he's an absolute diehard!

Jaouad Zairi (who has recived interest from Rangers) was reportedly on £8, 500k per week at Olympiakos. He wasn't one of their top earners and an improvement on those wages would be within Rangers means. Added to the fact that Zairi is out of contract and would cost nothing means financially this move wouldn't be a problem for Rangers.

Glasgow Rangers could offer Zairi potential Champions League football, the opportunity to play in front of 50,000 fans each week, and pretty much double his wage packet.

Rangers need a winger this summer and this guy has the ability and experience to be fantastic. I can only hope that the others on this forum are correct and a move is on the cards because he would bring some much needed flair to the team.

{Ed010's Note -This was a new name to me so I had a wee look on Youtube (www.youtube.com/watch?v=4FGJa7cXqJM&feature=related).
He certainly has the skill to excite. Just remember to add the "http://" to the link above if you want to have a look. (Can't put the whole web address as one as the built in site filter will remove it)

Believable0 Unbelievable1

I'm the same, hadn't heard of him but i did youtube him and I'm pleased that we've had some speculation about a genuinely exciting player, who, also looks like he could be a realistic target. I think this type of player is what we need to spice things up a bit on the pitch and make things happen, we definetely lacked that spark this season. It proved our eventuall downfall in Europe as PSV were definetely nothing special, we just lacked that creative spark. However, this kind of player is not only good for European nights but week in week out in the SPL as it's excitement that the fans want! As proven by the reception Weiss got every time he done something right (his creative spar won us the cup final i.e quick freekick). I will be disappointed if we can't get him back, but the team definetely needs a few creative, possibly pacey options. Anyone else think the same?

ed what is this about puncheon and burke singing for us i don't see it i see us maybe getting goodwillie and conway and that's about it what do u think

{Ed010's Note -I think that you are not far off the mark when you identify Goodwillie and Conway as being two players who Ally may have in his sights. Even if they aren't, we know that Ally needs to bring players to Ibrox who will enhance the squad and act as a back up, to the first team. As a consequence, I have no doubt that there will be several players arriving during the transfer window, it's just a matter of how many.

ed whats the chance on weiss coming back to us in the summer if man city sign another winger????

{Ed010's Note - There is virtually no chance of Weiss returning to Rangers for the start of the new season. Nothing, I hasten to add, to do with him but all to do with Mancini, the Man City manager who wants him to go on another season loan but this time to a club in a "stronger" league, with Espanyol as the current favourites.

There is however potential good news as he is quoted in a rcent interview as saying, " If it's not Rangers next year then I really want to come back at some stage in my career because the club is in my heart now."

James McFadden has said he would play for Rangers in the past.Had regular kick abouts with him before his Motherwell trial.Half his relatives are Rangers, the other half are Celtic. He would be open to play for both clubs.

Agree4 Disagree2

My memory isn't short, I thought he was extremely poor second time around. He contributed very little to the team and did we miss him when he left? I don't think so. There was a rumour a few years ago that he told McLeish he wasn't playing CM with Ricksen beside him and then like magic Ricksen, who had been player of the year until that point, moved to RB.

fernando ricksen was bought as a right back ? remember bobby 1 season peta taking the mic out of him ferguson left and big alex moved rickson to mid field were he had one of his best seasons ever scoring alot of goals but i wouldn't take ferguson back even being a gers man i always agree with the rule never buy a player u sold ? but i tell u 2 players i wouls take back adam and hutton ?

can someone please just say transfers that rangers are going to sign or almost close to singing instead of just listing players that have no chance on comming to rangers

{Ed010's Note -Thanks for your post but in reality, only Ally and a handful of his closest allies, will know for sure who they have in mind as transfer targets. The one thing that I can say, is that Rangers are in with a far better position this transfer window, to attract players who were potentially, out of our reach previously.

A few people have linked Barry Fegruson to Rangers. I really hope he doesn't come back. He strikes me as the sort of guy that thinks he is bigger than the club, I don't think he is good enough anymore and lets remember he was at his best for Rangers when he was going forward and scoring goals, something he seems unable to do now. The Championship is probably an appropriate level for him. Thoughts?

Ed do u no think mccoist should b trying to get some free transfers in cause there's some no bad players out there?

{Ed010's Note - I totally agree with you and I have no doubt that Ally will be looking to bring in a few "out of contract" players. With the amount of funds available to him to buy "contracted" players, he really does have to go down this route to strengthen the squad numbers.

Ed010 - Asking for your help

Over the past few days, I have received numerous posts, responding to stories and rumours that already appeared on the site. These posts could be described at best, as being disrepectful (to other Rangers fans) and at worst, a form of character assassination and it is not something that we should be indulging in. We are better than that guys.

Due to the vast volumes of posts that are received on the site, it is an almost impossible task for Editors, myself included, to read and check, most of the spelling and grammar or to confirm facts, that appear in your posts.

It is with this in mind, that I would ask your indulgence in ensuring that from now on, that when you do want to make a responce, your post is written in manner that belittles no one and will thereore have a better chance of being published. Thanks Ed010

rangers havent done anything, simple, basic and plain as that, anything you have heard is lies, the media are clutching are straws, will probably next week you will see stuff happening, the relegated teams from epl will have to sort there own house out to find out what players want to leave and who are staying, look at newcastle they kept most of there players when they went down, everybody just calm down time will tell

I heard Pardew is now having a go at the SPL, him & Mancini should concentrate on their own league & as for Mancini, he wants Weiss to go on loan to a stronger league, what does that tell you of the chances Weiss has at Man City.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

I think Pardew and Mancini only need to look at former SPL and scottish players in the English leagues to see that the SPL isn't as bad as some might think. Players like Charlie Adam(nominee for player of year in Prem. but only a bit part player for Gers 2 years ago), Crainey, Darren Fletcher(consistant performer for the current champs), Greame Dorrans and Steven Fletcher who scored some crucial goals for Wolves survival. And lower down the leagues players like Snodgrass who previously played for Livi, an even lower league than the SPL. Also, James Mcarthy, previously of Hamilton has been a star turn for Wigan. .As for Mancini wanting to sent Weiss off for a 'challenge' abroad: there's much to be said for the rough and tumble of the SPL every week, plus a top test against Europe's ELITE in the Champo League and Europa league + a taste of real success at the Gers that he probably won't get abroad. What does everyone else think on this matter?

This is Just a suggestion but if we are looking for a midfielder to partner Davis in Midfield. I think a good shout may be Zenden. I believe he may be a free agent this summer. He is experienced and creative. Can play central or left. I have always admired him as a player but concerned he may be a little over our wage structure.

What y'all think?

Bluegenius.

Believable2 Unbelievable6

I think he is old and past his best. With zero sell on chance.I would rather we went for Don Cowie at Watford who is free. And is a Scotland international. If we lose our fight to sign Murray Davidson, to Wolves or Wigan.

Ed, is Puncheon coming to Rangers after Blackpool were relegated

{Ed010's Note - Jason Puncheon will have returned to his parent club (Southampton) but is looking for a way out as he is alleged to have had a fallout with Nigel Adkins and has been deemed surplus to requirements. It has been reported that when Blackpool expressed an interest in him, he was offered to them for £800,000 but Blackpool decided to take him on loan rather than pay the transfer fee. It was agreed however that if Blackpool stayed in the EPL, then they would buy him for £1,500,000 in the summer. Now it seems that any team wanting to buy him will need to splash out around £2,500,000. The question is, would we get better value elsewhere ?

{Ed010's Note -I cannot tell who posts what, unless they provided their name or email address, so I cannot give you a definitive answer. As I have intimated in the past, I try to pick up and publish as many posts as I can, knowing how important these are to each and every one of you. There are other editors who also read your posts when I am not available to do so.

As you have quite rightly stated, any post that fits the website rules will be uploaded onto the main site but with one exception. That exception is when we receive multiple posts concerning the same topic matter, in which case, the best post or posts are used.

On a personal level, I can assure you that any individual response to those "hot" topics, will appear on the boards, as I firmly believe that the readers have the right to express or read someone else's views.

I just hope that this addresses your concerns and I look forward to uploading any future posts. Ed

I think a lot of people are expecting a bit too much from this transfer window. We are in need of a few top quality players, some young lads and a few squad players. I would defo like to see Kyle Bartley return on loan, Lee Wallace from Hearts would not cost too much, nor would Garry Kenneth from Dundee United, as well as Richard Foster. Providing Bougherra stays then these would be decent defensive options, however if Bougherra leaves, Andreas Granqvist would be a quality signing. In midfield we are fairly strong, especially centrally. In terms of width, Craig Conway would be an ideal signing as he can play either side. Possibly young David Templeton would also be a good signing. Up top we do need to strengthen. David Goodwillie seems to be a certainty, and I would also love to see Michael Owen sign, however it remains to be seen if it is possible. I think letting John Fleck go permanently would be a major mistake, the boy has incredible talent, but needs a major confidence boost, possibly a loan move would be ideal, maybe to someone like Dundee United or Hearts or even a Championship team. What do you guys think?

Believable6 Unbelievable2

I agree with most of what you say but Garry Kenneth he's rank rotten m8. John Fleck should be sent out on loan I would maybe even say 1st division Scotland give him the kick up the ass he clearly needs.

However, we don't want to be un-ambitious, i think a big name or two isn't out of our reach.

Agree2 Disagree0

Lee Wallace has Wolves and Wigan in for him.He won't be coming to our club, much as I would love to see him here.As for Templeton he is EPL class to.And Goodwillie has had Chelsea and Liverpool watching him.Rangers fan or not, for the sake of his career he should test himself at the highest level.Other EPL clubs would be happy to take him to.

I agree that I'd like to see Aaron Niguez back at rangers, Valencia agree we could have him the first time if we gave him loads of playing time, we should have done that, when he played he did really well and scored a few goals. Big ally should look at him instead of Weiss cos it looks uncertain we will get him and to be honest he didn't do much in his time here really, all well and good he mingled with the fans an loves the club but it doesn't count for anything unless you perform and he didn't do that in my opinion. Also get rid of Diouf, Healy, Foster, Whittaker , Weir and Fleck. Should look Towards Jay Bothroyd an Chris Burke as they had left Cardiff after failing to agree new deals.

Walter smith for the Chelsea job! What do you think Ed?
Rfc#1

{Ed010's Note -I may be wrong but I can't see Walter Smith being interested even if Chelsea want him. Who in their right mind would want to manage Chelsea with Abramovich at the helm. Is it 5 managers in 4 years or 4 managers in 5 years ?

Believable2 Unbelievable1

I couldnt see him wanting that really. it is one pressure cooker to another, and one bad season would result in a sacking. and i doubt abramovich is too aware of him, even though he is miles better than most being mentioned with it. i could see him at somewhere like blackburn if they get rid of keen or west ham maybe

interested to see on this page and on the transfer rumours page the transfer targets for Rangers. I'm afraid that the reality is that there will be no big money transfer signings whilst the tax case with HMRC continues. Rangers are now out of the woods yet I'm afraid. Even if you ignore the tax case, Rangers still owe £20M not to Lloyds but to Craig Whytes company. All he did was buy the debt from Lloyds. The debt (despite what you would like to believe) has not gone away, but is now in the hands of venture capitalists. Ok guys, I am a Celtic supporter, but I do have a good firm grasp of business and economics and I think i'd prefer my clubs debt to be in the hands of a bank rather than shadowy venture capitalists. Am I incorrect? Or are the blue tinted spectacles being worn on this site?

Believable1 Unbelievable7

Following Birminghams relegation from the PL earlier today, Craig Whyte had already opened talks about Barry Ferguson moving back to Ibrox but has now made moves to Bring Alex McLeish in as Director of Football to oversee Allys progress from assistant manager to manager. both men will work in tandem on transfers with McLeish experiance of the europen market will be invaluable to Ally along with the respect he has earned throughout football FACT

******* ive never heard so much nonsense in my whole life. . . WTF would Alex Mcleish want to come back to rangers as a director of football for??? NONE! once people leave scotland they don't wanna return plus hes a young manger and in regards too barry ferguson that is nonsense. . rangers booted him out and why on earth would be take him back when he 3 years older.
