Skrtel, Solankie, Lucas, Woodburn, Wilson all linked and before Stevie G has even started his first shift as our manager. I don't doubt there is substance in some rumours but truly belive that the press are touting former teammates and Liverpool prospects to fill column inches. Gerrard and his team will not want a Liverpool tribute act to define him as Rangers manager, his footballing links reach much wider than Merseyside.
I doubt Mark Allen has been sitting on his hands throughout Murtys reign, he'll have a database of players he'll discuss With Gerrard and Mcallistar I'm depth on their arrival I'm sure and again I very much doubt it's anyone reported in the press thus far.
June 1st is when the gaffer arrives and I'm sure he'll look at what he has to work with and then discuss key signings with Allen. Who, in any situation, makes a judgement without assessing things first? You wouldn't buy a house without seeing it but have the joiners teed up to fit a new kitchen before arriving to see they've ripped out a perfectly good one but the roofs full of holes. He needs to know where good money is needing to invest and he'll only do that when he has seen the squad first hand.

Fraser we don't need any more centre mids we have Mccrorie, jack, Rossiter, Docherty, Arfield and even Dorrans it's well covered and the 1st 4 mentioned give there all every game and will be part of our glorious team for years to come.

Anybody else think we would be missing a trick not to go for Mulumbu at Kilmarnock? I was shocked when Killie initially signed him. I think he’s a quality player and would not break the bank.

Mulumbu would b a very good signing, without costing the earth. A free transfer for a player of that quality is a no brainer if it materialised. I do think we have options in the CM position though. McCrorie, Docherty, Dorrans, Jack and a fit Rossiter r worth the effort! A lot of deadwood in the squad and getting them off the wage bill will prove hard.

I highly doubt we’ll sign all the players you’ve mentioned. It’s EARLY days. The window is open until the August. Folk are getting their hopes too high because the media are linking us with everybody and anybody.

Martin Kelly is a free agent? I’d 100% look at him IF fit and affordable. Plenty experience always been solid when I’ve watched him with Liverpool or Palace.

Transfer talk is exciting and looking forward to SG coming. There is plenty of time left yet bears for new players. Strikeforce of Solanke and Defoe sounds good to me. CH Positions is priority. We need quality over quantity this time. sick of cheap duds last few seasons.

As i have said a million times, SKRTEL, LUCAS, DEFOE etc are not even targets yet. Gerrsrd hasn't even assesed the squad. We are going with msrk allens targets, Gerrard may have an input after 1st June but we will be in the market until the end of August.

Of course Gerrard has assessed the squad. It would’ve been the first thing he done when he found out the job was his. If you listen to him speak in interviews he says football is on his mind all the time. So if you’re thinking he’s not starting work until June 1st you’re mistaken. His work has already began whether he’s at Ibrox or not

Everyone worrying about who is not signing who we are suppose to be singing who the papers say we are signing and eveman with a source also says we are signing till the come on tv with the scarf or strip its all just if’s maybes snd rummours one thing that should be true and that is stevie g would not have took this job unless he was going to get funds to bring in decent signings so let's just wait till after june 1st when he starts and then see what we do in the market and the season starts before we have all this doom and gloom stuff

I can't help getting a feeling that us bears are going to be left feeling totally underwelmed by the transfer window. Like investment from here there and every where I think a lot of people will be left disapointed on here. Some of the names being mentioned on here are just not going to happen!

It's best not to pay too much attention to what you read in the media, the club haven't officially commented on any of the stories, best to wait and see what pans out, I am sure they will be a few deals going on in private at the moment, also the transfer window hasn't officially started,

I agree mate, I’m not losing sleep over a player we were never going to get. Just wondering after comments last week if Supercooper still thinks we’ll sign him. Not having a go I’m just wondering if the penny is starting to drop yet? We’re not getting that caliber of player at Ibrox, especially somebody who is on £50k p/ w - although if this is just his agent negotiating then I’ll accept that I’m wrong, I just can’t see it!

True though Hollow. A lot of people think as soon as we are linked with a player that if we don't sign him it's the end of the world or the board fault. Player needs to want to sign, and the price needs to be right (that's if the rumour is even true) .
That's why the bates thing annoys me, people saying we can't afford what he asked for where it's more like we didn't believe he was worth that much.

Quite close with David bates and he said although rangers weren't offering anywhere near what hamburg did (not much more than his existing deal) it was more down to the length of contract. I think rangers were right to not be just chucking out 4 year deals though that's not the way forward as look where it has got us before.

Beginning to get a bad feeling of deja vu here. Signing Liverpool youngsters is not going to get us back where we belong. We need established players who are going to improve us now not youngsters who are still developing.
