how about trying to sign micah richards 28 and can play with the ball plus doesn't shy out of a tackle. seen somewhere he wasnt needed at aston villa. what do you think fellow bears? wages would prob be a stumbling block, but medals and trophies guaranteed to kick start his career again plus sell on profit?

24 Aug 2016 23:39:39
Hull were going after him mate, no chance against the epl wages.

25 Aug 2016 05:09:20
Are you mental his release clause is 5 million.

{Ed001's Note - they just want rid of him, because he has a terrible attitude, especially to training.}

24 Aug 2016 21:00:57
Felipe Santana anyone? Heard his name a few times now.

24 Aug 2016 21:22:44
Signed for a club in january.

24 Aug 2016 22:16:05
Who did he sign for.

25 Aug 2016 06:31:49
Signed for kuban Krasnodar.

25 Aug 2016 08:00:04
he's a free agent left them in the summer.

Fellow Bears I am looking for help/ advice/ thoughts/ opinions on an person issue.

A close friend of mines a life long Rangers fan, has been diagnosed with terminal "C", told 12 month, this was about 2 months ago. He is only 33.

I have 2 season tickets at Ibrox and my dad is giving up his seat so I can take him to the New Year game against Celtic as he never been to one.

I would dearly love to try and get him to Parkhead for the Game next month as this is something that he would love and has never done before either.

Ideally a would love to be with him for, as he has mobility difficulties as its his leg/ pelvis effected, but these tickets are gold dust and getting just 1 would be hard enough.

Does anyone know what I could do to try and get him there for this match? Do you think any supporters clubs could help, or do you think Rangers or Celtic Could help if I tried to contact them directly.

Any assistance, help, thoughts, suggestions would be really appreciated here.

Thanks in advance.

24 Aug 2016 16:25:37
have you shared this on twitter mate.

24 Aug 2016 16:36:31
You could speak to both clubs. Get in touch with Rangers and Celtic see if there's anything they can do.

24 Aug 2016 16:47:54
Get in touch with celtic directly mate, i'm sure they will be able to help, I hope you can get the help your friend needs to watch, God bless.

24 Aug 2016 17:17:50

24 Aug 2016 17:37:18
Thanks BhoyWonder

I have emailed Celtic Pulic Relations and Support Liaison Officers and put it to them

explained the advice to contact them for from from a Celtic fan that loved to have good old Glasgow banter on the Rangers fans page lol

I will post any outcome with any response received. If you have any word from your end, could you post it here but ask ed to email me directly in case I miss the post.

your spot on mate, we all love our banter and our teams but times like this just shows it all goes out the window and Glasgow people will help each other no matter if they have green or blue blood.

24 Aug 2016 18:09:42
I read your not a fan of social media M3 but it can help in situations like this, Maybe the bears on this page can put it on their twitter or Facebook page, if its ok with you mate ill fire a post up myself, And your correct pal, imo it should go out the window with situations like this, hope you get the result you want, just not on the tenth 😄 Good luck pal.

24 Aug 2016 18:19:41
I would just like to echo the sentiments being offered on here as well. God bless your mate M3 and I hope everything works out for you both. Thanks to bhoywonder for his help too.

24 Aug 2016 18:43:05
M3,as a regular poster on here I would just like to reiterate what everyone else is saying on here regarding your good friend, I really hope all of us between us can help you here mate, I'll certainly keep a watch out to see if I can do something on a personal note, god bless your friend and you m3 because you're a terrific friend for anyone to have as your touching, caring nature proves, bhoywonder proves what we all know anyway that there is class on both sides of the old firm divide, pure class bhoywonder which I can assure doesn't go unappreciated my friend, life itself is much bigger than anything else!

24 Aug 2016 18:51:38
Sorry to here about your friend but I think that's the best advice, contact Celtic or rangers direct.

24 Aug 2016 19:22:12

Contact the clubs directly i reckon both clubs will help out because of the situation.

24 Aug 2016 19:47:08
M3LVO sorry to hear about your friend, horrible disease.
But my suggestion is, contact Celtic as the host club and ask if they can help, I am sure they may be able to arrange something. Good Luck to your friend and yourself.

24 Aug 2016 20:53:34
Really hope you get a ticket or 2 I'll explain to my local supporters club tickets r gold dust these days especially this game surly yous will be there.

24 Aug 2016 17:53:54
Call me crazy. But I can almost make sure your friend goes to any game he wants by treating his cancer. I need to know afew personal things tho. Firstly what type of cancer he has and also has he had chemo/ radiation therapy yet? I would love to help and have done a lot of research in this field. If u csn get back to me on here then I'll give u my email and we can take it further. Regards.

24 Aug 2016 21:49:42
Shit news for your mate!

I hope he can enjoy the time he has and good luck sorting this out for him.

All the best M3LVO.

24 Aug 2016 21:53:26
Bartonisblue

Thanks for response

He has bone cancer effecting pelvis area. Had chemo and it doubled in size gave him 12 month prognosis he just finished 20 sessions of radio and is in hospital as it burnt the skin clean off his thigh, groin and behind. The radio was to assist with pain releif but basically there nothing else they can do now.

If u could make any contribution to help out here I would be grateful. Cheers sir.

24 Aug 2016 22:52:44
I love nothing more than winding up the guys from the other side on here but have to say the Sellik fans have shown real class regarding this issue so fair play to them 👏🏼
Hopefully your pal is able to attend this match and that his remaining time is as pain free as possible.
🔴⚪️🔵.

25 Aug 2016 00:23:59
Hope you get a ticket for your friend M3LVO my younger bro is also battling cancer . Lives in Sweden we had him over fir Celtic game what a great day so hope you get likewise . M3LVO is also be really interested in your theory if that's possible please.

26 Aug 2016 02:25:45
Not making any medical claims here.
I'm very sorry m3. Bone cancer is unfortunately incurable. The original cancer must have come from somewhere else initially. No one gets bone cancer from the off. But the main problem is the fact that he has had radiation in the first place. It and chemo makes cancer worse.

The only thing I can suggest for him now is too cut out sugar and carbs in his diet straight away! Cancer feeds off of sugar and carbs turn into sugar when digested. Also he has to go straight onto a raw fruit and veg diet immediately! I suggest getting a blender to blitz it all down into a smoothie. (easier to drink) if he sticks to tht for months he will see a difference.

Also there is something called Bravo yoghurt (look it up) it can treat stage 1-3 cancer. I'm honestly not sure about bone cancer but hey its really worth a shot. It's very pricey though. Honestly mate, do some research on this an you will be amazed. I really do hope your pal gets better.

24 Aug 2016 13:36:01
Anyone have an idea as to why MW is praising Senderos but as yet not having him signed?
MW was talking about how fit he is and how well he's fitted in to the group and how he's had a positive effect on the coaching staff.

If that's the case then sign him!

24 Aug 2016 14:53:19
Maybe just trying to keep him sweet while they explore all options.

24 Aug 2016 15:27:49
Done the same with Oneywu in USA.

24 Aug 2016 16:05:42
Maybe they're negotiating a deal?

24 Aug 2016 16:37:23
Possible, I jus find it odd MW publicly praising home without him being a Ger.

24 Aug 2016 17:10:16
What is he going to say when asked. Oh Senderos he's a useless lump of a man who I may be forced to sign if I am unable to get X, y or Z over the line.

24 Aug 2016 17:11:42
Looks very much like MW is keeping a backup plan sweet.

I have the feeling/ hope that we have something else going on behind closed doors.

24 Aug 2016 20:42:13
I've been thinking the same Mr Nice. I think even if we had gotten Lescott the manager would have brought someone else in. I think we just might go out and spend a bit of cash like we did with Garner.

24 Aug 2016 20:46:59
I get what your saying Birdswing but I agree with Mr Nice. It seems he has something else lined up. I'd love to see Senderos sign but it wouldn't surprise me if he legged it. I could be wrong though, jus find MW a bit over pleasant about him without him being part of the squad. You either want him or you dont.

24 Aug 2016 19:26:24
Maybe what managers say when they know he's done well but they don't want a player.

24 Aug 2016 20:13:48
Me too, I have no doubt someone else is being spoken too, , maybe both will be signed, ? I hope so
Tommy.

24 Aug 2016 13:30:28
Am I right in thinking this £200k bonus that Scottish Premier League clubs get due to Celtic getting in to the Champions League is based on last seasons teams in the SPL since it was last season Celtic qualified for the competition.
Meaning Dundee Utd and not Rangers will get this money?

Ed?

If true what a kick in the balls that would be!

{Ed001's Note - I don't know sorry.}

24 Aug 2016 13:56:19
its for moving fixtures this season.

24 Aug 2016 14:29:44
From my understanding we don't get a penny of the windfall as we were not in the spfl last season.

24 Aug 2016 15:04:44
Last season lads, utd get it.

24 Aug 2016 16:07:55
Sorry to hear you not getting any money, i'm sure it would have come in handy.

24 Aug 2016 16:17:15
Being a bit bitchy considering where you were playing your football.

Don't worry you will get some sweeties next season when the bhoys qualify again.

24 Aug 2016 18:18:58
Forget the sweeties I've got my pop corn ready for the comedy show in europe, with 20 mil in your directors pocket, europe doesn't bother me for now our time will come and hey we'll stick the 250k in the post.

24 Aug 2016 18:39:36
Stmonkey. Pop corn, so at least you'll be watching the scottish champion's playing in europe, what have the bears got, possibly a few friendlies with similar fallen teams, maybe chelsea home and away in the clash of also rans.

24 Aug 2016 19:35:09
Yeah i don't mind watching them dam nearly fell off my chair last night, i honestly couldn't care mate, i know how loyal i am and my bears who stick together through crap times and fill our stadium and not just turn up for glory nights, its a shame you call anybody else also rans, can i ask how much a ticket is to a champions league game compared to the old firm at 50 notes, that's when you know thw bigger teams arrived when you ram up your prices not bad for all rans, tbh chelsea probably lost 20 mil down of the side of the couch last year in spare change.

24 Aug 2016 19:54:13
Agree you shouldn't be shafted just to attend paradise, but we all know rangers will repay the favour on the one fixture your likely to host this season.

Would you not like an owner with 20 million he can lose down the side of a couch, just wondered what d king has actually put into the bears, excluding loaned funds to pay of ashley.

Out of interest, any dates for the contract merchandise court case, possibly another waste of dwindling season ticket assets.

Downwards and onwards is the new bears cry.

24 Aug 2016 20:08:06
Congratulations on your team doing it at the 1st attempt this season unlike a couple of seasons ago where your team had 2 attempts and still never qualified so at least that record will never be beaten by any other European team so again congrats on achieving the 2 attempts records and well done last night I'm sure your team will need a lot of luck going by last nights woeful European away performance.

24 Aug 2016 13:25:58
It has been clear for two seasons that our defence is the problem. All through pre season and the cup games. Specially burnley at ibrox. Love Warburton but that should have been his major priority. Always start from the back. Hill is far too slow. Exact opposite of what we needed. Has to be either kiernan or Wilson. Not both. Both lack pace. Senderos is better than hill and maybe on par with the other two. But still has no pace. At the game on sat and they two made Scott McDonald look a player. McDonald winning headers against kiernan just shouldn't be happening. Marriapa imo never wanted to sign. Always waiting for something better, and with a week to go a can see Warburton maybe resurrecting his interest in marriappa with a better deal.

24 Aug 2016 11:29:47
So is the mariappa deal on, with hull openly saying they want micah richards, who knows good player so i'd take him if we can.

24 Aug 2016 09:06:42
Great to see Matt Crooks played last night, I for one am really excited to see this guy develop under warbs. There was a lot of chat on here about Windass at the start of the season and I think MC came in a bit under the radar. The boy is a lump at 6"4 and is no slouch either. Having watched his YouTube clips it looks like he can hit a ball, but given our current squad, I think he will be deployed at CB more often than not this season. I'd go as far as to say he will be a big part of the solution to our shaky defence in the very near future. What's everyone's thoughts?

24 Aug 2016 09:56:17
Yea he's going to be a great player. Excellent range of passing good technical ability and pace, and with his hight at 6'4 he will be great at the back for defending corners and free kicks into the box (Our main weekness) hopefully not too long now to we see him in the famous blue jersey 🔴⚪️🔵.

24 Aug 2016 11:12:44
Careful, it's a crime to talk up crooks on this site don't you know?

24 Aug 2016 11:31:21
Haha! Not really seen him mentioned that much to be honest, until yesterday. Like I said, hopefully the solution is already in our ranks.

24 Aug 2016 11:45:52
going on his youtube performances, he is going to be superb for us up here. get him in CB, hopefully he will sort us out, looks like its him or Senderos that are our last realistic hopes of a decent CB.

24 Aug 2016 12:15:55
We all love this boy but few have actually seen him. Has said today that he hopes to be available and in contention for Celtic game.

24 Aug 2016 12:54:18
Recbob

Grow up all people on here have said is they need to see how he plays before saying what a great signing he is. Nothing wrong with that and all sensible people would agree.

24 Aug 2016 13:07:13
Poor biffo will be raging with everyone talking up my favourite player - Garth has class and will develop into an even better player in the coming months -.

24 Aug 2016 13:28:11
: crooks on shortlist for world player of the year.

Bookies have installed him as favourites based upon his YouTube videos and the cult following he has gained without kicking a ball.

Look, we all hope he turns out to be a good player and does a job, but let's wait until the guy is fit and shows what he can do on the pitch- before making a series of ridiculous comments about his abilities.

24 Aug 2016 14:49:10
Mr nice

Exactly mate it's a pity there are a few on here that can't grasp this and think that this is somehow a slur on him. We all hope he will be a great signing but time will tell.

24 Aug 2016 17:14:58
biffo- Some just get a bit carried away at times.

I just hope he's half as good as his hype!

24 Aug 2016 19:30:31
Looking forward to seeing Crooks and we'll see what he offers, I often find it's exciting when we sign a few players in pre season but 1pr 2 are injured and you don't see them for a few weeks it always keeps interest going to see how good these players will be when they eventually start.

24 Aug 2016 21:05:37
Some of us have actually seen the boy play and are looking forward to watching him pull on the Blue jersey. it's not a crime.
Whoever made you two the authority on here about who the rest of us would like to see in the team is beyond me. It is a forum based on opinions, not a dictatorship.
And Biffo my tongue was firmly in my cheek with my comment, is this not meant to be a banter site? No need to get your knickers all twisted up.

24 Aug 2016 08:37:24
I think the board and Dave King have done a great job sins taking back control however I would like to see us go and buy a commanding center half with pace . We pain 1.5m for Garner brilliant start after the years of struggle. You get what you pay for in anything. Senderous has a good CV but struggles with injury .

24 Aug 2016 12:04:54
Aye A Good Defence is top priority for a serious SPL challenge, otherwise we could end up mid table and no European football again.

24 Aug 2016 12:18:15
I was never a fan of Walter smith. My reasons are he rarely gave youth a chance and he sat in to much for my liking and showed to my fear of other teams especially in euro in my opinion. One thing he did do I his second spell was first thing get your back line sorted. Give Warburton the money he needs for a good center half.

24 Aug 2016 12:55:21
AnotherBear

Walter did get us to a European final something not many other Rangers managers have done.

24 Aug 2016 13:05:06
So, and forgive me if I am wrong, but it seems to read that you would happily splurge another 1.5million (that we don't actually have) because you "get what you pay for".

I am pretty sure I can point to half a squad of free agents and low fees to prove you wrong on that account .

24 Aug 2016 13:31:23
Walter Smith is the greatest manager the club has or ever will have.

His team's would wipe the floor with our current team.

Were his team's pretty to watch? No. But they were well organised, solid and effective.

24 Aug 2016 13:43:32
A whisker away from champs league final, a uefa cup final,9 in a row, umpteen victories over the tramps but not a fan of Sir Walter. away back to the asylum.

24 Aug 2016 15:56:16
Sorry I must be on the wrong site I'm looking for one where you can give your opinion.

Got to a European Final, Finals are for winning.

Ofcousre Walters team would beat our currant team he spent money.

So no one thinks we need to buy a center half just to be clear?

24 Aug 2016 16:19:26
Give your opinion on here just not daft ones.

24 Aug 2016 07:07:32
Just a thought if we haven't brought in a new CB by Friday and Crooks isn't fit then why don't we give Hodson a run at CB alongside Wilson or put Hodson on the left and Wallace in at CB? i personally would have the pairing of Hodson and Wilson as i feel he is a better defender than Kieran and any other CB we have got in just now and has more pace than the other 3 CB n yes I know he's a natural right / left back but As an international defender i'm sure he could do more than a job, this could be the answer we are looking for if MW Would drop Kieran, what do other Bears think on this options either till we get a new CB or full time alongside Crooks when fit? thoughts please.

24 Aug 2016 08:28:14
I feel hodson is a decent defender at full back but for me would not be an option at CB particularly due to his height and physical presence but understand your idea of trying someone new at CB. This position has been discussed frequently and rightly so. Looking forward to see what next couple days bring and if we do sign senderos I cannot see him playing straight away due to fitness but stranger things have happened. I think MW is still looking elsewhere other than senderos but feel Senderos should be added also.

24 Aug 2016 11:16:58
Wallace is a decent CB but there's no way Hodson can play there. If the transfer window closes and we are still left the Wilson/ Kiernan partnership then all the good work done in the transfer market will have been in vain. Let's get this position sorted Rangers before it's too late.
A new commanding CB should have been brought in months ago so he had time to bed in for the old firm game. Instead we've had to watch shaky defensive performances undermining our good attacking play. MW has missed a trick here.

24 Aug 2016 06:49:46
Give hodson a run at cb alongside wilson can't be any worse than Kieran what do fellow gers think?

24 Aug 2016 08:28:19
hodson is probably the smallest player in the squad.

24 Aug 2016 17:44:21
Aye because all 5ft 4 off him will sort out the problems in the air. Honestly some folk don't have a clue. Why don't we stick Hill up top he scored 2 last time he could be our new jelavic.

24 Aug 2016 06:43:32
Just a thought fellow bears if we don't get a new CB before Friday and Until Crooks is fit then why not g.

24 Aug 2016 07:22:40
Lol sorry pressed send by mistake. Just a thought fellow bears if we don't get a new CB before Friday and Until Crooks is fit then why not give Hodson a chance and a game at CB alongside Wilson, better defender than Kieran and has a bit of pace and as an international defender should be able to adapt to CB no problem.

24 Aug 2016 09:01:45
Wallace could be a better option at cb rather than hodson, but still needs to be in beside a big dominant ball winner which we don't have. but whole team needs to defend better as a unit!

24 Aug 2016 00:08:59
Crooks played CB tonight for u20 team. He only got 62 minutes and picked up only yellow of the game. He is obviously weeks away fitness wise and beyond the ready for Celtic game. He played a long side Bates and they lost 1-0. Goal was a free kick tho.

24 Aug 2016 03:14:16
Goal was scorer when crooks was subbed.
