I see mculloch said there was no malice in the elbow was just trying to shrug the boy off me the guy is a joke been getting away with things like that for a while it's food to see him get done and is it just coincidental it was the boy who done him earlier in the match
Hope Sally does appeal cos mculloch is a liability

Rangers have been very poor in the last few games and I personally believe that the uncertainty regarding the clubs future is beginning to play on their minds.

It's easy to say it's business as usual, the tax issue will sort itself out but realistically the players must be thinking about where their future lies. Jelavic seems to hav no interest, Davis appears lost, maybe I'm way off but it's the way I'm seeing it.

Thoughts Gentlemen?

Believable12 Unbelievable2

No excuses we are not good enough simple as that,we have been scraping results for weeks and have been rubbish at Ibrox apart from Celtic game, poor signings and poor tactics, last week we played 2 holding midfielders and one up front against caley, that says it all.

Agree6 Disagree1

I don't think the results have anything to do with the Tax Case, if that was the case we wouldn't be top of the League, because lets not forget that's where we are at the moment. A few years ago, under le guen Celtic were a dozen points in front of us at the turn of the year, can we put this into perspective and just say - yes we are poor at the moment and hopefully Ally finds the root of the problem (plays offensive and puts people in that correct positions) drops those who are not performing and gives the likes of Fleck, Bedoya McKay and Ortiz (he is a full back) a chance playing in the postions that he bought them in and not as right wingers

Why ? bother with sherry or home brew it does,nt change the reality a general anisthetic will at least knock you out for a few hours like try it for the septic game mind you they,ve been crap as well this season and their revival doesnt convince me one bit even stephens Id say should sack both managers the fans might benefit from seeing both teams learning to play football again ,stick to the anisthetic lol

since naithsmith got injured rangers have been woeful, steve davis is the invisable man, jelavic doesnt look interested and they have no leadership in this team,i'm dreading the old firm game as mccoist doesnt seem to know what he's doing,it's a sad day when stmirren play rangers off the pitch and also rangers were hanging on when they played inverness, dunfermline and stjohnstone lately, hardly surprising the 12 point gap has fizzled away

I would differ slightly but good positive line up

Agree0 Disagree1

It aint we are ment to have the best players in the league excluding celtic so the best form of defence is attack would do better than the garbage we had to suffer today

Totally agree Hamilton lad our team needs freshen up

So you would drop our best defender so far this season, bocanegra?

No Bocanegra?

Typical as soon as he has one bad game people start saying he's no good.

Some folk on this site don't have a clue.

I think mc coist has got to have serous look at himself he's got us knocked out of Europe the league cup and we have now blown a 12point lead. He changes the team about every week which also doesn't help when your looking for consistency.we went with a manager with no experience and I'm sorry to say I think the jobs to big for him. Bob

Believable9 Unbelievable2

Totally agree each individual in the team have no vision no stand up and be counted strength how many would be in team 5 years ago ? none i would give ally a chance but if he fails bring in king billy davies as he has the experience needed

Listen lads im fed up listenin to all this depresing talk get behind the team yes we are shi*e the now which really means we need to be the 12th man

my other point is in way this blip in form may well be a blessin in disguise cause hopefully then we will find our best starting line up so come on fellow bears lets get behind the team

Poor poor performance.and result.today...

I think we will win the old firm game tho, and people on today saying ally should go will hang their heads in shame...

With no goian, bartley and boca are a bit more mobile and shoukd handle hooper and sammy better..

Gers win .....

Pistol.......

Believable5 Unbelievable8

We wont know if they will hang thier heads in shame because most do not put a name to the post - I agree though - we could not ask for a better game to find some form, I would settle for a draw if offered now though. :-)

Pete

Agree1 Disagree1

Even if we do win on wednesday I still won't hang my head in shame . if you think the style of football and tactics ally sets the team to play are good then you are easily pleased . I thought Walter was terrible with his negative tactics but ally takes the biscuit

Yes rangers fans are being short changed.......jock wallace must be spinning on Gullane sands just now no charecter at all no character at all from our so called captain nothing

Mcoist... Am a bit disappointed in how easy the boy went down (after mcculloch elbow)! This is the same guy who defended aluko when he was hardly touched. This tells me Mcoist is either the biggest hypocrite in world football or hes a very desperate man indeed.

FFS.......Get a grip of yourselves.......it was a defeat so what we are an average team punching above our weight and we will bounce back...we've been lucky for the most part of the season bar today and at killie...and to be honest we were looking ok till mculloch was a tool in the box..so cmon for fu** sake get a grip of yourselves cos at the moment we are still top and hopefully come the 1st we are still top....

Tam-Sir 1873 Merry Xmas Ally hope you get a cracker pal...

Believable4 Unbelievable5

24 Dec 2011 17:37:58
I was totally disgusted with that performance today. No skill, no creativity but whats even worse is there was no fight or passion in the team either, there was a complete lack of leadership.I've said this before and i will say it again, our midfield is terrible. We get completely outplayed by every team in the league, its not just Edu's fault, they are all rotten. While the players let Ally down bigtime today Ally has to take a huge portion of the blame himself. His formation, selection and tactics are absolutely abysmal. I though we would see a bit more attacking football once Ally took over but truth be told he's even more defensive than Smith. Buck your idea's up Ally, you are and always will be a Rangers legend but you will be out on your ear unless you do something to turn the tide now.

Gerry The Ger.

Believable12 Unbelievable1

It not Rocket Science - the midfield is not working because we are playing players out of position - coupled by the fact that if one of the core players (Davis Whittaker McGregor Jelavic) is off form he is not getting dropped.
people are saying Bedoya, McKay Fleck are crap, but how much playing time are they getting - NONE ..

We have a small squad and it does need rotated, thats not happening at all.

Pete

Agree7 Disagree2

Being totally honest Pete in the little i have seen of Bedoya and McKay they look terrible. Fleck will come good eventually.

Gerry The Ger.

Agree4 Disagree3

Gerry, I have only seen McKay in the Dundee united game at Ibrox when he was played out of position (there is a surprise) and against Liverpool. I thought he did OK in both of those Matches to be fair, Davis needs to be dropped for his own good and Edu and McCulloch are to similar. I would like to see Bedoya get a game in center of the midfield, thats where he played with Orebro he is not a right midfielder or a forward, so until these guys are tried at the position they play it is very hard to judge them - an example is Albertz- Smith tried to play him as a left back in his couple of games so he could accomodate others into the Midfield, when he was pushed one up he did the business big time. While I am at it, I would like to see Ortiz given a chance at right back, thats where he played for Almeria (left or right) Whitty needs to be dropped

Pete

rangers seem to be playing with fear, far to negative, sad day when most teams in the league play a more aggressive style of football in a match against us.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

24 Dec 2011 17:05:44
we'r an EMBARRASSMENT after today, ally must go, a dont care what uz think, 15 points down to 1, going into an old firm game at parkhead, is NO GOOD. EVERY SINGLE PLAYER IN THAT TEAM IS LETTING US ALL DOWN. his signings have been TERRIBLE, makay ortiz, bedoya, SHOCKING, he brought in players he cant relay on, and to me, that says ENOUGH. a love you ally, you will always b my best EVER ranger, but u need to step down mate, it breaks my heart to say it, but the proof is in the pudding..

Believable6 Unbelievable1

It was 12 and celtic had a game in hand,
so your looking at 9 - 8 points we have dropped in the last 6 games. I agree its disapointing but you cannot put all of the blame on to McCoist, was he slow coming off his line against Killie ? did he elbow the St Mirren Player in the face ?
thats what cost us those games at the end of the day. If We beat Celtic next week will he be forgiven ? come on we are still top, granted we have been poor but lets get behind the team.

Pete

Agree3 Disagree5

Ally mccoist always has and always will be a rangers super legend and an all round nice guy. however he has learned off walter smith and smith had an ultra defensive style second time round and ally is just copying it and that is his biggest problem. he has been tarnished by smiths tactics probably because he seen those p**h tactics get ( with an amazing amount of luck) to a european final. also you cant do much with a squad of players who are absolute p**h and i mean all of them but in particular davis, edu, lafferty, ortiz, bedoya ,weir

Agree7 Disagree0

Pete your wrong it was 15 points at 1 stage in November. Celtic went to Fir Park and reduced it to 12.. Mark Hateley said the league would have been finished if Celtic dropped points that day! lol

Agree2 Disagree0

I was doing the calculations based on what we have dropped - 8 points 1 draw and 2 defeats - realisticaly it was only ever 9.

Pete

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Dec 2011 16:47:46
Poor show, a collection of defenders and holding midfielders, guess what we never created much, the speed at which we threw on another defender/holding player and took off wylde raises a serious question over Allys ambition with this collection of players

Believable13 Unbelievable0

Bring in billy davies be4 its too late and get rid of the crap not fit to wear the jersey

When we played liverpool in the friendly nand the young guns came on it was a breathe of fresh air bring them back plus kyle hutton if we lose on the 28th

24 Dec 2011 16:35:11
I may get dogs abuse for this but I would get Weir back in the team, even if he's played at sweeper. We need a leader who can orginise the team on the pitch! And I really don't give a f**k about his age!

24 Dec 2011 16:30:06
Well, well ,well, happy christmas.
I'm gutted tonight, mainly because we got played off the park in the middle part of the match, great finish for the first ,but in my opinion Jelavic tried a dive on the touchline when we lost the ball for the second one, still, too many ball watching.
Seems that the players thought it was over when we were 12 points clear and are now struggling to rise to form again, I'll never know how edu gets a game, but overall the defence has been decent this year and wallace is a find on the left.
I agree with all you bears that are sick of players being played out of position, but that aint a new thing, it's been happening for many years.
I'm hoping we hump them on wednesday cos form apparently counts for nothing in these games.
The worst thing is that wallace was our best striker
Gutted
Bazbear

Believable2 Unbelievable2

We have never been in form, we have been rotten all season and have been lucky.

as for wallace been a find on the left, the reason we are struggling in midfield is down to the fact we are playing defenders in there. Wallace might have scored but he aint a left sided midfielder

Agree5 Disagree1

I dont see why you slated edu in this post, everything else is right. Edu played great today, a lot of smart passes and good touches, he did better in 65 than davis did in 90. Completely unfair criticism considering davis stood and watched players run by him
EKger

Agree6 Disagree1

I agree, if you put pace on the wings it allows the fullbacks to come forward .
If Ally plays defensive on the 28th it will play into celtics hand, they are weak at the back and if we do not exploit that, we won't stand a chance of winning the match. No point in playing Jelavic on his own, he is not that type of player, today I counted 3 times when he won the ball in the air and had to then go and chase after it, no support at all.

Pete

Agree4 Disagree2

I agree we should attack celtic on wednesday, but we wont. Ultra negative ally will play his usual defensive guff and play right into the hands of celtic .

Agree4 Disagree0

Wallace is a find on the left, not left midfield. Nothing to do with today, but overall, papac aint gonna last forever and wallace is a decent leftsided wingback. I've sympathised with edu, he's fast but too many simple mistakes, Finally if we can play 3 at the back with 9 men, lets do it with 11, 5 in the middle which gives us options and two strikers. Just a thought. Merry chrimbo bears

Lets be honest hear we have been poor for most of the season, poor tactics always set up in a defensive formation,i didn't want Ally as Manager still don't, we got beat in Europe twice with poor teams that says it all,I will always support the team through thick and thin at the moment im worried.

alright my fellow bears bad result today and has now proved that we need a clear out we need to get David healy lee mculloch David weir and another view players out and ally mcoist has to say to craig whyte get your cash out wee need younger players who will fight for the shirt

young players i would like to see at ibrox

Jamie Murphy

Chris Humphrey

a know this would cost a bit of money but after that performance surely whyte must know we need a new fresh start with new players he will just have to put money in to rangers these are players who would do well for the club for years i just think the team needs a freshen up a bit that is all

Believable8 Unbelievable1

Erm ... How do you get this through to rangers fans....YOU HAVE NO MONEY!

I am just back from the game,

I know Ally see's the guys in training every day and is best placed to pick the side, but IMO he got it wrong today, far to many players in un-natural positions. AGAIN!!!!!
McCulloch- not a midfielder, a left footed wylde on the right - Wallace (although I thought he had a good game at Left Mid) is another who was played out of position. McCulloch got sent off for an elbow, I haven't seen that, but I was close to the Goian second challenge, same amount of contact as Aluko got crucified for a few weeks back. After we went down to 10 men, he took off wylde for edu and had 9 behind the ball asking for trouble, then Lafferty for Aluko and Boca for Bartley .. strange choices. Still we are a point ahead and we may be forced to play an attacking side against Celtic next week.

Pete

Believable5 Unbelievable0

I am hoping aluko has a blinder on wednesday coz he is capable of winning games and we need someone to play out of their skins on wed to lift morale of the team, whatever happens we are and always will be THE PEOPLE, cmon

is it now time to think out the box here cant go on with this style of football much longer, its terrible to watch but who can we ask to change the type of football we play, klinsman, gus poyet, pearce, but they would want money we have not got we cant keep dishing up this rubbish year in year out yes its got us titles but some of it would get football shut down

Believable6 Unbelievable0

You are right mate, rangers fans have been getting short changed for years with the style of football we are asked to watch. we may have win titles but from a footballing point of view the entertainment has been terrible

i love my team but i came on here for a little moan rible , think we looked comfy after going 1 up tho but wylde on the right :S his right leg is only for standing lol , whittaker needs a reality check and seriously needs dropped , im just wondering does he bring weir back for the old firm or does he go with bartley the striker , lafferty not 100% so why does he take wylde off when we go to 10 men when he knows he will take lafferty off in the 2nd half , bit pissed off boys and sorry about the moaning but im questioning mccoists tactics the now , im not questionin his love for rangers but i dont think it is enough , we had no1 on the park who will gee the players a kick up the arse , and im gonna take a bit of criticisim here but i would bring back barry ferguson he is the type of player wee need , davis is not a captain you hardly see him even talkin on the park , and for the first time in my life im gonna say 1 man can make a team cause we have done nothing since wee naismith got injured , still have faith that we will pull something out the bag against celtic cause we all know form goes out the window but im hoping thats no just my heart talking

Mcoists starting formation - Joke! Enough is enough we need a clearout and now! Whittaker, Mculloch and Edu NOT GOOD ENOUGH! have to go.....and now. Laffertys time's up as well. Too long now waiting for consistent quality, has to go.

Not sure if they were injured but Bedoya, Mckay, Healy and Fleck. Coisty if you have no intention of playing them then lets not waste money on their wages and get shot of them.

The players basically know that no matter how sh*te they play they wont get dropped so Mcoist needs to grow a pair! Also he needs to get a grip. Playing Bartley up front and admitting that with 15 mins to go we have no chance of outplaying St Mirren so we have to punt the ball.

So much wrong and needing changed it makes me mad. The result today has been coming for weeks now!

We need a clearout and to buy new players with the money and for Mcoist to remember that we are Glasgow Rangers and we should attack teams like St Mirren and not play as many defenders as possible!

A seriously f*cked off Rossco Cyprus Bear

Believable3 Unbelievable0

I have just seen the incident, at first it didn't look much, but just seen the multi camera views and looks like the REF got McCullochs right, don't think it merits voilent conduct, though on current form we could do with McCulloch being banned for the rest of the season ..lol
As I suspected, Goian's was a joke, thats never a second yellow card it happend in the middle of the Park not like he was breaking away. Well I am not going to let it ruin my Xmas - as another poster said, there is much more important things going on,

Im not a fan of either Rangers or Celtic and from an unbiased point of view I have to say you boys were so hard done by today. Those are 2 of the softest red cards you're likely to see. Referees egos arent just a problem in England clearly.

TK-Red

Refree was a total disgrace where do they get these guys from

Agree3 Disagree7

Course the ref was a disgrace,i mean,he didnt even give you a penalty.

Why was the ref a disgrace? Because he never gave you your usual soft penalty or because he applied the rules to your players?

I see this page has as many Celtic fans than Rangers ones posting on here. Despite what many of you say, if todays red cards were given to hoops players then every single one of you would be up in arms. I know I would be if it happened to United.

Starting with 5 defenders and Jig.. Wylde who can't cross wi his good foot on the right. Then bringing on Edu and Bartley.. Whittaker is terrible jus now, Aluko tries to beat everybody infront of him instead of an easy pass(think he will b a good signing jus tryin too hard jus now) Davis could not find a blue shirt wi a pass if he was paid double. Jelavic didn't hav any good touches... Can any1 give me any good news about these players at my club?
Ally..wot u doin man?

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Aye after he took lafferty off when we needed goals and then ends up wi bartley up front WTF is going on, wylde starting before aluko on the right more defensive than the seigfried line still had 4 midfielders and 4 defenders when st mirren scored both there goals Come to F#$k and gie ourselves a shake, give whittaker a rest and gie mcmillan a chance

its been coming! hope its the kick up the a** we so badly need cause there no energy or passion coming from the team. nows the time for ally to put the boot in and get it sorted. they have been playing far to lazy and complacent the likes of davis and jelavic seem to think they just need to turn up n they will win. It makes me wonder what they actually to at training because they cant pass the ball for the life of them, the ball retension is rotten. theres no flair in the team why take lafferty off and bring on aluko why no take jelavic off instead of him. i know laff had a yellow but if players cant keep the discipline when required they shouldnt be playing.

But onwards and upwards because i said dead the same thing last year when we were rank rotten and look what happened and the year before that. heres to 4iar keep faith, it will happen.

Believable0 Unbelievable4

HOW MANY KICKS UP THE ARSE DO THEY NEED !!? That was shocking and not one of them deserve to play for Rangers. The defending at both goals was no better than Sunday league standard, an absolute disgrace Rangers. Every point we have dropped this season has been to the poorer sides in the league, that indicates to me that we are not trying !! Cheers Ally, MERRY F***ING CHRISTMAS TO YOU TOO.................... McCoist to get the boot after the old firm game is Rangers don't win. 6 points out of the last 18 and possibly 6 out of 21 if a defeat at Parkhead has amassed a large amount of pressure on the rookie manager.

Expect Jelavic to be sold, along with some others to make way for a massive clear (Weir, Kerkar, McCulloch, Broadfoot and possibly McGregor) out and limited funds of £5 million for next manager.

Believable5 Unbelievable1

10 out of last 18, but have to agree, expected better. Most embarrassing thing is the other mhob are as bad as they have been for last 10 years or so. Sort it out Ally.

I want to see mccoist stay as manager but i think he needs help from someone who's been about for a while to help give the players a lift coz mccoist does'nt seem to be doing it, big mcculloch should be showing the door just now, jelavic, edu and davis should be sold in january window they just dont look like they want to be here anymore and want away.

Clearly the team crumbled when McCulloch was sent off. Luckily he wont be able to play on wednesday. I don't think it was all ally's fault and much less is this a reason to gett him sacked. This has got to be the most one dimensional and negative rangers teams ever, kick and rush is plan A,B and c. There is just nothing about them, even with 10 men against st mirren why dont we keep one player up for an out ball. and if we lose on wednesday it could be a 16 point turn in the last couple of months. only celtics bad start has covered the cracks and the fact that we are poor and this has been an awful start to the season.

I am 100% a Rangers fan always was and always will be but let me tell you this my fellow Rangers fans McCulloch you are a disgrace ! first of all you went down like a sack a totties from the young St Mirren lad who hardly touched you and then you had the tenacity to elbow the guy in the gob which rightly got you sent off and maybe have just cost us the title you are a disgrace of a footballer and the sooner you go the better. If i try to take anything positive from this is that you will be not playing against Celtic on Wednesday thank f***k. Rant over. Lee the pee. P.s well played Stmirren. Why's Carey still on the pitch? Cos the refs crap as are most in Scotland.
Why is ally such a poor tactician? Don't know

Believable4 Unbelievable3

Yip blame ally for any points dropped today. everyone knows mcculloch is a plank of wood and a liability. Playing a defender left midfield also.

Ally buck up your ideas or your going to find yourself out a job. Your team selections and tactics are woeful, no excuses

You need to wake up son. We do just fine from ref's. The problem is a severe lack of quality. Watching my game with my six year old some and he pipes up that the only good players are shagger, jelly, lafferty and Davis. Add boca, goian (shocking at the 2nd goal) and naisy and the rest are dreadful. Love the legend that is coisty, but signings like McKay, befits and Ortiz offer nothing. Mcculloch, you useless, overweight plank, leave now. Useless in every position ever played in. It could be 5-0 on Wednesday to them and before anyone starts about support the team, I have been to 7 home games this season. My cash and time has been supporting the team and this has been coming for months

Barnsley midfielder Jacob Butterfield is another player interesting Ally McCoist as he looks to reduce the average age of his squad by trying to offload players who are on the periphery of the squad but are not in his future plans. McCoist would like to off load Bedoya,Weir,Ortiz and Broadfoot as soon as possible as he doesn't see them as part of his long term plans.

McCoist is also keen to send John Fleck on loan to gain regular first team experience as he feels Fleck has still got a future in the long term at Rangers.

Just want to hear your thoughts for the old firm next week?
I suggest playing an attacking team since we all know celtic's defence isn't at its best.
But, who should we play on the wing, aluko is inevitible since he is always using his tricks on either wing he plays but it's hard to pick who plays on the other wing. Any thoughts?
Also, who would you rather play as defensive mid, edu or mculloch? or even bartley? all 3 have there strengths and weaknesses but only 1 can be played to give rangers variety in the midfield and not leave them too open when attacking or too defensive to hit on the counter.
Any thoughts ED {Ed001's Note - I wouldn't have McCulloch anywhere near the team, if it was me, he is awful.}

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Hope edu is nowhere near the team

Rablam

Agree1 Disagree5

I would play Aluko, Davis, Bartley Wylde. But it will probably be 3 defensive players in midfield.

Agree0 Disagree2

I've seen milk turn quicker than edu

Agree1 Disagree2

Ed Do you watch much of our games on TV? Are you watching the Old Firm game on wednesday? {Ed001's Note - I haven't had the time to watch much Scottish football at all this season. I usually manage to catch a good percentage of it through various streaming sites, but this year work is keeping me too busy. Wednesday will depend on the family, kind of difficult to watch anything over Xmas with them all there.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I have a feeling that Ally will try and squeeze in Bartley Wallace Papac and McCulloch - I have nothing against any of these players if they were played in the position that they were signed for. Wallace and Papac are a left backs - McCulloch is/was a better forward player than he is in Midfield. Bartley is a Center Back

Wouldn't be surprised tomorrow if the team lined up
Mcgregor
Whittater Goian Bocanegra Wallace
Bartley
McCulloch (edu) Davis papac
Aluko
Jela

I think thats the team that will start at St Mirren and for the Auld Firm Game.

I would love to see

Mcgregor
Whittater Goian Bocanegra Papac
Aluko Davis McKay Wylde
Lafferty Jelavic
