Keep sayin mw talk about how much he wants to keep barrie mckay so can someone please tell me why on earth have we not offerd him a new contract to b honest am pretty sure mckay would stay with us for another cuppo ov years and by then we could have players to replace him plus sell him for a lot more money is ther any sighn of a new contract?

25 Jan 2017 08:17:32
These things can take time how do we know negotiations are not ongoing

25 Jan 2017 11:07:25
Simple no money. If we offer barry a new contract it will need to be a vast improvement on his current contract 2 compete with what will be offered else where. This would limit mw budget for bring in loan signs or negotiating wages for pre contracts agreements or signing new players

25 Jan 2017 13:39:46
id wait till the season is done and offer him new contract in the summer to save us money we don't need to part with just now as McKay is going nowhere and talks of 6 million is just something sum1 made up.

25 Jan 2017 16:42:10
he still has 18 months left on this contract so why the big rush if he gets a lucrative offer from abroad then maybe he will be tempted but I think wait till the end of the season and offer him a wage packet that equals our highest paid player that I think would get him to sign on the dotted line and also make sure we get more money for him.

24 Jan 2017 19:31:23
How many on this site see us bringing in any more players?
I think the sensible money will be on the fact that we will bring in none. If anything we may lose at least two of our existing pool.
The next debate will be on where the blame lies. Personally, I think that the blame lies firmly with DK, who promised much and has delivered little. MW is a yes man that toes the company line in a desperate effort to save his job.
Although it is an impossible dream we need a player that can control the midfield with his presence and footballing ability. We need a defensive midfielder that protects the back four and we need the manager to take a job anywhere but Ibrox.
I know Santa has been but an old man can but dream.

24 Jan 2017 20:07:09
Wow so many positives there.

I feel like phoning the samaratins after reading your posts!

so basically you hate the chairman, don't rate the manager and the midfield is useless.

We need players but they won't arrive any time soon. We should by now have started to sign a couple of good young out of contract players on pre-contract Agreements but I suspect that won't happen either.

Problem seems to be that the King has no clothes! All those promises of available investment at the start of the season, then promises of new funds in the January transfer market but alas, with just six days to go, no permanent signings, only rumours of players leaving!

Perhaps the growing rumours of discontent are not too far off the mark and the Three Bears and the Far East Investors have grown tired of King's empty promises.

24 Jan 2017 20:41:25
PH, you should rename yourself pipe-dream. So don't blame me if you need to phone the samaritans, Santa is not real and neither are DK's promises.

24 Jan 2017 21:03:47
TomUSA, the only thing I would give dk credit for, presently, is the fact he is not signing futher players, because we are very, very vulnerable and as I have said elsewhere on this site, directors have fiduciary duties.

24 Jan 2017 21:39:09
I found a magical scroll that would make me a billionaire and the king of Scotland. All I needed was a lock of Santa's beard, a tooth from the tooth fairy an icicle from Jack Frosts nose and a positive post from Billyb sadly the latter does not exist.

24 Jan 2017 21:58:37
Good post billyb

24 Jan 2017 22:00:09
Come on billyb, give us something positive to read about!

MW has clearly said that no-one will be leaving in January UNLESS he recruits a replacement for that player. no much ambiguity in that so I cannot see why you choose to put a downer on it as usual.

Now, if at the end of January, one or two players leave and there are no replacements brought in you would be justified in criticising MW or blaming DK as is your want.

As far as I can see, we are on track to finish 2nd which is the best that we could hope for given current circumstances.

I'll say it again, put your solutions on the table instead of promoting the likes of MA and the Easdales

How does saying the chairman hasn't delivered on his promises equate to the poster hating the chairman? What's wrong with saying we need a few better midfielders mean the midfield is useless? What's wrong with also saying he doesn't rate the manager? Your response to the original post is ridiculous.

24 Jan 2017 22:08:15
Bluepete, not bad, but my skin is much thicker than you obviously understand.
Your magical scroll is obviously DK's plan for our future. Santa's beard and the tooth I have, but a positive post from me is unlikely until there are massive changes from our beleaguered chairman.
I believe that we must remove ourselves from the fantasy world that DK has created, but with a bit of realism we maybe have a chance of surviving.

24 Jan 2017 22:42:53
Stewie, the problem is that this ought to be a fans forum and whilst everyone is entitled to their opinion, there are a few on here who have never said anything positive about the clubs current management and board.

Rather than acknowledging the huge step forward in the past years or so (compared with Whyte, Green, Easdale, Ashley) they prefer to share only negative opinions usually with little regard to the reality of our current situation.

24 Jan 2017 22:52:34
BR65, I very much respect your comments, although most are against my negativity. However, your comments on my positivity on MA and the Easdales is crap. I could give you a realistic plan to take us forward, but you would probably think I was too big for my boots.
We may finish second, but we are an apology for the Glasgow Rangers. We have had more lessons, according to our manager, than the lady that past her driving test in her 80's.
You have asked me to comment on my solutions, so without repeating myself, read my post.
p. s. I appreciate touche. Cheers

BR65

I think the vast majority of posters are only telling it how they see it. It's more being realistic than being negative. You say about the reality of our situation but we have a far bigger budget than Aberdeen and Hearts yet we are no better than either. People have been saying that we shouldn't expect to challenge Celtic as they have a far bigger budget than we do however they don't seem to think we should be ahead of Aberdeen and Hearts where our budget in far bigger than theirs. MW has had 18 months in charge yet I don't see any signs that we are going to get anywhere near Celtic which has to be the ultimate goal. The defence concedes nearly every game usually the same type of goals, the midfield doesn't create enough and has some very average players who continually play and the number of goals we have scored in the league is embarrassing. It's an sad reflection on the team that our best defender is 38 and our best striker is 37

24 Jan 2017 22:06:34
Billyb, who do you want to replace warburton as the next rangers manager then mate? Remember being realistic and someone we can get!

24 Jan 2017 22:45:51
Agree TOMUSA. We should b signing up some young talent current under our noses in scotland! The likes of falkirk young left back tony gallacher and craig sibbald, stevie mallon (st. mirren), sam nicholson (hearts) etc

25 Jan 2017 09:26:29
Jason Cummings, nicholson, souttar.

A player like grabbon from Bournemouth would be descent.

25 Jan 2017 11:57:51
Im still unsure of Dave king, but I'm willing to wait until Ashley is removed and then make my mind up, as for the other board members, they have been first class, and they still haven't took any wages from the club, as for the gaffer I really like warburton, but time will tell how well he does at ibrox, but I hope he wins us plenty of trophies

25 Jan 2017 15:14:48
Billyb what are these promises that dk made that you keep going on about

24 Jan 2017 16:21:21
Hi folks

Seen on the Rangers website that Joe Garner took part in a physical match during training with the rest of the squad today which included some of the under 20's team. Back before the expected 3 weeks?

24 Jan 2017 18:35:04
Yeah must be making decent progress! didn't see MOH halliday hodson wilson or keirnan in pics assuming that's why he's brought a few youngsters into the session

24 Jan 2017 21:45:22
What's you're thoughts fellow bears on the rumour of us going in for Cummings? I personally think he would be a fantastic signing but the problem being I don't think he would fit into warburtons system! I think you would get the best out of him if you played 442 and played a target man beside him! Bags of potential but I don't think playing him up top himself would benefit us!

25 Jan 2017 09:26:53
Why play a target man when we don't play long ball?

25 Jan 2017 11:28:47
on Sat we were back to pussy footing around with no pace or penetration, why when Motherwell had 6/ 7 players around their 18yd line, why do we persist with one player up front, surely common sense tells you to add pressure to their defence you have to have at least two or three, we make life to easy for their defence

24 Jan 2017 13:54:37
I wish people would stop banging on about redbull buying rangers we are running at a loss and living off loans this isn't man city your just fueling tics laughs at us

24 Jan 2017 15:58:01
Why would we care what the population of Craggy Island think?

24 Jan 2017 15:58:47
So far there doesn't seem to be a shred of evidence in the rumour just like there's not a shred of evidence that Leipzig want to buy Barrie McKay for six million.

Amazing how these stories grow legs.

24 Jan 2017 16:04:00
Why is there so much nonsense about rangers surviving on loans, correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure we've only got 2 loan players and they only signed a week ago.

24 Jan 2017 16:29:20
Not surviving on loan players Delboy, surviving on loans from shareholders etc to keep the club afloat.

24 Jan 2017 16:32:06
Delboy1979. It is a reference to the money soft loans that are keeping us ticking over ( barely) not the players

24 Jan 2017 11:59:40
if by some miracle we were to be left £20 million quid, would the fans trust W W with the cash to buy better players, as he has generally worked and brought in players from lower leagues, would he know who to buy etc.

24 Jan 2017 14:49:52
I would let him have his chance I think he could be a great manager with money in the transfer kitty

24 Jan 2017 16:04:42
Without a doubt. I have full confidence in him and davie

24 Jan 2017 20:22:06
I think Warburton has what it takes to be a successful manager but we don't currently have the cash it would take to mount a serious challenge. One criticism of the manager is that the majority of signings have a previous connection to him. Having said that, that is the markets we are shopping in. Any manager could be instantly better with a few million to splash. Davie Weir however could have made a bigger impact in my opinion. Considering his quality as a player our defence should be rock solid.

24 Jan 2017 22:05:59
No I wouldn't trust him as I think his signings by in late have been poor. He has had far more to spend that Aberdeen or Hearts yet I don't see much difference between the teams. To me it comes down to this. If fans are happy to be forever we'll behind Celtic and to be scrapping with Aberdeen and Hearts for 2nd place with the odd cup win thrown in the MW will do if however we ever want to challenge for the title then we need investmebt and a new manager

24 Jan 2017 21:45:45
Yip, mark warburton with a decent amount of money to spend would do very well indeed, imo. He'd prove that just like i think he is anyway, he's a good manager! He's rebuilding a legendary institution here guys! Be patient, get behind the guy and give the guy a break!

24 Jan 2017 11:43:32
Read posts wondering where dk investment that was being held back till January is. It's simple, the vote at all was where investment would have came from if they got positive vote that is! And we all know who abstained their vote. so that's where the buck lies

24 Jan 2017 12:10:22
Agm sorry
