I have weighed up the pros and cons and although not totally happy to line these fuds pockets. Again I would rather support my club and even if 20% of my cash gets through to the playing side its going to benefit my club, I only renewed today after giving Dave King a good 6 weeks to put his money where his mouth is, its obvious he wants the shares to go even lower if he is ever going to attempt to buy out current board when if he was that committed he would have made move already. The way I see it if he does make a move soon (after recent media reports stating he has sold shares in other company) then it should be good news but either way I support the club not the business who have went bust before. Its all about the Rangers for me and stupid, blind whatever I may be the fact is I love this club and my support is unconditional. Rangers till I die

So Miller then Boyd, to add to Darren McGregor and possibly Don Cowie from Cardiff City. I see the kids are going to get a chance again next season (not!)

Personally I really like Kris Boyd. He's a great addition to the squad but as I always say - how can we afford him?

IMO there's no doubt Rangers even with an inept manager will win the championship fairly easily. as long as they don't enter administration along the way which I still feel is more likely than not especially the way the board are behaving.

Not trying to be negative but it's difficult to see how on earth we will get through the season without another financial event

So turn down a chance of top flight football, Europa League and chance of Scotland call up. that's ambition. Wonder what swung him our way. free oranges at half-time

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Not sure if this is a dig at Kris Boyd or not but he is a Rangers fan and it's a strange world we live in if playing for Aberdeen and in the Europa League for a couple of matches beats playing for us.

Agree0 Disagree0

If Kris Boyd does re-join us it is because he truly loves the Rangers. I mean he's worked with the "coaching staff"! before so he must know what to expect (it took nearly 5 mins for McDowell to explain to him what he wanted him to do when he was coming on in Manchester when all he had to say was score a goal) and I do believe he paid full price for the shares he bought not 1p. He is not daft, us or the Sheep no brainer for a bluenose. Plus he won't be doing it free.

Love of money more like there's some drafts on this site at times at least be honest with yourselves

I think it was for the love of the club and probably thinking we will qualify for europe on our first season in top league if we win premotion

@4.Question is though, if what you say happens and rangers qualify for Europe, will they be allowed to play in the comp? I'll admit I don't know the full rules for FFP, but given man city's £50m fine and the squad being reduced to 20(?) could rangers actually afford to pay a fine to play in a competition that with the squad rangers have probably wouldn't do very well in the first place? Would opting out of Europe be a cheaper option for the board?

Agree0 Disagree0

Scarcrow666 I don't see why not as they were told in 20012 they would be banned from europe for 3 years so by the time top league finishes 2 seasons from now the banned period is bye four years since the 3 year ban that's of course if they win premotion this coning season and finish in european possition

Yes, but I'm talking about the Financial Fair Play rules. We all know Rangers are spending more than they earn, the last accounts showed TRFC owed RIFC approx. £16(?)m. There have worryingly been no real signs of cutbacks so if the accounts show that amount of a loss 3 years in a row then the FFP rules will come down hard on rangers(it would probably be a smaller fine than man city got as they spent a lot more, but it would still be high). It's just my opinion, but I think the current board would rather stay out of Europe as it would mean less money to fleece their pockets.

Agree0 Disagree0

@6. I don't think that is Scarecrows point, tmwnn. There is no doubt that Rangers would be eligible to play. I think the question is woul dthey fall foul of some sort of FFP restriction? Having spent £67m+ in the last two years what position will the books be in at the end of four years? UEFA might allow entry but might impose squad restrictions and/or financial penalties.

Agree0 Disagree0

Number3, (should you not be number 2). I did say he won't be playing for nothing. As for love of money not the club see "manager".

2012-2015, 3 Years out of euro matches.
When though, can we play in Europe again, at the end of season 2014-15, or the end of 2015 annually?

@7 and 8 just had a read at the FFP and if (and there's lots of ifs) Rangers were eligible by winning of competition the level of loss could invoke a transfer embargo and reduced squad. If losses were lower and the "owner or board" made up the losses then no embargo or fine would apply. But that couldn't happen because we are skint and no rich Rangers fan or this hugely unpopular board would inject the money to make up for the season's trading losses.

However the FFP is not very well named as clubs with a relatively small support in the English Premiership can dwarf teams like the Gers through the "Sky TV" money alone.

Which is one of the reasons I binned ssn 3 years ago.

Looks like a legal minefield and if the Gers were involved some rich bar stewards solicitors firm would be the main winners if a ban was challenged.

@11. Lawyers are always on the winning side; even when their client loses

@14 agreed. people on here can be guilty of selective memory loss as he left the last time because he wanted more money.
Yes he will score lots of goals although we cannot afford him but let's hope there is no badge kissing rollocks

Agree0 Disagree0

N10 the 2015 2016 nbear I think if it was for the love of money he would have moved to the american leagues also was it some french team that offered him a contract but if money was the thing the states would have won his signature
