Cant help thinking we are still just a shade light at the back. can't think of better alternatives at the minute.

Totally agree about worrying that Bruno gets injured as I think defence is still light on full backs and centre halves, bates still raw, wilson injured so on got 2 new boys, tav n Wallace but no real competition for full backs. we will score goals this year but keeping them out will be more important.

He is playing really seems like all or nothing with him looking forward to seeing him play in the shirt just every tackle he makes is hard lol even when he isn't involved he's banging against his own keeper other teams keeper will b interesting to see if Wilson or bates can learn a bit from him

Alves looks a class above any defehnder in Scotland even though he's not the quickest. He's just what we have been missing last few seasons no nonsense wins every thing in the air ask the lego muncher about his tackling can't wait to see him in blue jersey. 😈

Would love us to get an attacking mid who can win a game on his own, a no 10 who can be a game changer, don't ask me who would be within our reach to get but we need this kind of player.
Wouldn't Danny still be realistic for us?
Or a winger who can just win a game for us.

joscro, mentioned in a previous post about aDutch player who is out of contract, his name is Nacer Barazite plays for FC Utrecht in Dutch Eredivisie. Had a good season helping them get 4th place in the league. Attacking midfielder aged 27 years old. Played 53 games scored 16 goals, think he could do a good job for us just like the Dutch guys of old when they came to Ibrox.

Why are people not excited by the signing of a tried and tested player but will fall over themselves for a foreigner that we have no idea about?
Mclean is a better signing than Dorrans for me and makes more financial sense. In saying that, i don't think either are world beaters but would provide some good options for us. Both are a serious improvement on what we have at the minute.
Looking forward to the season ahead. A lot of unknown players signed and it will be exciting to see how they turn out.

Was reading a BBC Article by a Mexican journalist and he said they are all surprised the Mexican boys got a move here. I am very excited to see them play but he warned that they've been off the boil for a couple of tears and might be a big disappointment. However, I am even more excited at the prospect of Dorrans or McLean as they are both tried and tested, some of the best talents Scotland has to offer.
So, I agree with you! Foreign talents are exciting as they're unknown butfans should be excited by the guaranteed improvement that people like Dorrans or McLean would bring. Bonus that they know what Rangers are all about

I get your point but every one of the signings is a big step up from the player they are replacing - granted that life in Glasgow has its stresses for these guys but Pedro knows and trusts them

respect your opinion mate but baffled by it all the same. I get at 30 the financial side of signing dorrans in terms of lack of re-sale value but in terms of quality I just don't see it

McLean is not a better signing than Dorrans in terms of ability but I get the resale point of view. I hope we go all out for Dorrans tbh he is a class act, got premiership and international experience. Dorrans and Walker would be great additions but if it comes down to cash then I'd still be happy with McLean and Walker. For me It's Walker we should be prioritising!

Dorrans has played in the English Premier league but he's not the player he was 2-3 years ago. If you looked at him the last couple of seasons he seems in decline as a player. McLean still seems to improving as a player in my opinion. Still has something to prove. Why shouldn't we try to sign one of the better players playing in Scotland? I know he's not a defensive midfielder but McLean is a better footballer than jack. Who every one seemed delighted we signed

McLean wouldn't be the worst signing but dorrans is a more established player. I wouldn't be surprised if we bought one of them or walker and a full back. Think the new dof could lure a couple young talents either 🤞

With Rangers now apparently preparing to bid £1 million for Kenny McLean, can't we learn lessons about our youth players? I didn't realise he was one of our youth players. Perhaps if he had been given a chance to come through the ranks we would have had him in the first team anyway without having to pay £1 million to the Sheep for him! I've said before on here about giving the like of Hardie and Burt a chance to push through wouldn't be a bad thing. It would be galling if three years down the line we buy Hardie from another team for £2 or £3 million!

It's down to different managers and different taste in players. Would he ever have became an accomplished player with us? Probs wouldn't have been given the chance.

Good point and you often post supporting youth development. Burt deserves a chance to prove himself, Hardie I'm not so sure he'll stake a claim like a Parlane or Johnstone. Can't see it. I do think we should be putting in decent offers for Scottish players and reading about their signings instead of bids being rejected. Didn't hear a single one of those about a Portuguese, Colombian or Mexican.

From what I'm told Pedro has lots of the 19s training with first team for pre season and he hopes some will step up. if not he hopes to loan them out to spl clubs and get them game time and have the younger kids play in new development games

Doiger. Its not as simple as that. Boys develop at different rates and times. Look at Jamie Vardy for instance. Some boys talent won't sprout till later on and some boys physically won't grow until later too. The youth teams have to decide who might be a good prospect to keep, prospect being the operative word. Nobody has a crystal ball to know how a 15 year old etc will turn out when he's 21, 23 or 25 etc.

It happens so often you'd think clubs would learn their lesson.
Pogba and Matic are just two of the names that spring to mind. Let go for peanuts and ended up costing United and Chelsea a fortune to get them back.
Pedro has shown faith in lads such as Bates, Beerman and Barjonas. Hopefully he'll continue to gradually include other youngsters in the first team throughout next season.

things have gone well in recruitment but I have a big concern for the lack of movement outwards. We could be facing big payoffs to move some of the failures on, in order to keep the dressing room from splitting although I'm sure Pedro has a plan.

Being pedantic but the Scottish window has been open 2 weeks but I agree with you Motherwellbear. Importantly for getting rid of our underachievers the English transfer window officially opens on July 1st and that's where any of them we can get rid of will end up surely.

Caw2 the reason we didn't pay 1.5m is Pedro obviously feels Graham Dorrans is being overvalued, he s 30 and in his last year contract with Norwich
Tell me something, we have broken that 1.5m barrier twice already with the latest signings Carlos Pena and Eduardo Herrera at 2.2m and 1.5m respectively

We still need quality players at full back. Tav is good going forward as is Wallace but both are poor defensively and Hodson is poor both in attack and defence. What is more, we will most likely sell Tav if the right offer comes in and it would be a major worry if Hodson was our right back. Hopefully, Pedro has identified some good quality full backs that could come our way!
