I mentioned this last week and I'll repeat it. I hope someone is planning to go see Brora playing. Goal difference now!2 + and only 11 conceded in 29 games. They MUST have some decent players and are DEFINITELY doing something right Never mind that they are in the Highland League!! So what??
Maybe have a good look at their central defence and midfield, they must be good providers, and can't possibly cost very much?
Maybe we think we are above such moves, but just ask the question, which fans are getting better value for money?

Believable0 Unbelievable2

{Ed039's Note - The Highland League is just horrible to watch)

24 Mar 2015 20:45:24
I bow to your knowledge Ed - just thought it had to be worth a look with those numbers

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed039's Note - Honestly Bill, it is awful, I live in Fort William and have been to a few different games with a few different teams and its awful)

24 Mar 2015 20:46:37
my original post should say 112 + not 12

Agree1 Disagree0

24 Mar 2015 21:12:29
Is Brora not the team that are quite rich with a few ex spl players?

Agree1 Disagree0

24 Mar 2015 21:25:44
Brora buy ex spl players ie grant munro, ross tockley, Russell duncan from ross county in spl pay over 100 times anyone else. Player's straight from spl 2 highland league 4 big bucks

Agree1 Disagree0

24 Mar 2015 21:36:45
Did we not have problems at a pre season match versus highland league opposition? Wouldn't harm anyone if one member of our vast back room staff had a peak.

Has anyone else heard the rumour that Jim Delahunt has been sacked from Radio Clyde Superscoreboard for allegedy anti Rangers comments.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed039's Note - Dont listen to phone ins and cant see anything about this anywhere online yet??)

24 Mar 2015 21:03:39
I haven't heard anything regarding jim delahunt being sacked but he sure comes across as anti rangers

25 Mar 2015 17:21:43
Rumour I heard is he has a wee court appearance today.

As far as I'm concerned our manager stuart mccall has in his short tenure already shown he is a good coach and is very tactical aware, he is able to spot the weaknesses of other teams and sets up his team in a formation to get the result ie.horses for courses, his 3-5-2 formation against hibs proved he's a very thorough coach who leaves nothing to chance, the change of formation against hibs was a masterstroke and his players played the system tremendously and carried out his instructions to the very fine detail, this 3-5-2 formation certainly brought out the best in our players in a formation that really suited them, I truly now think we'll kick on and have a very good chance of promotion with mccall as our manager, I'd give stuart mccall the rangers manager's job full time and give him the backing & the tools to rebuild the team which he proved he could do at motherwell, he's a very good, deep thinking coach, what do you think ed & all fellow bears out there?

Jr glad you are happy mate even though you tapped up 20 names for the jib!

Agree1 Disagree1

24 Mar 2015 21:10:10
All this after a win over the notorious bottler's from Easter road, what happened to this deep thinking tactical mastermind the week before against allow?

Agree2 Disagree0

24 Mar 2015 22:30:08
JR I normally agree with you, however, playing 352 ain't exactly a new modern approach tactically and don't mean he's a deep thinking coach.
The system does suit the players at his disposal though and papers over the defensively weak cracks!
I do think he should be given the job full time as the team needs gutted and the man in charge at the minute can plan for a new team and approach. McCall leaving and A N Other coming in won't help the onfield problems short or long term. Year contract minimum with extension if achievable targets are met .

Agree7 Disagree0

25 Mar 2015 11:43:00
Can't argue with your post scotty123, I know the 3-5-2 system is not a new system or rocket science mate but the point I was making was mccall could see he had the players at his disposal to play this system and I was commending him for that vision, a good coach can change formations frequently depending on the opposition ie.horses for courses and mccall most definitely is a good coach, I do honestly hope stuart mccall gets the gig as the rangers manager permanently at the end of the season regardless of what league we're playing in, give him a 3 year contract and allow him to rebuild us

Cant see if anyone has posted this, but can someone explain to me what Lee Wallace was trying to say at the end of the game as he kissed the badge. He looked like he was opening a book and signing it. Maybe someone can shed some light on it.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

24 Mar 2015 13:36:13
Was basically saying, "ignore paper talk, I'm not signing with anyone else" WATP.

24 Mar 2015 13:50:57
Think he was suggesting we shouldn't believe everything that we read and he is happy at Ibrox.

Agree2 Disagree1

24 Mar 2015 13:56:15
Seemed to be shaking his head as he did it so might have been signing a cheque - a very large cheque which Lee refused as a carrot to go elsewhere - just a thought.

24 Mar 2015 14:02:32
To be honest I thought after his comments bafore the game then watching his performance he was trying to find a new club. Who knows what goes on behind closed doors especially at our club were always left guessing.

24 Mar 2015 14:09:20
think it was do with the press at the weekend, who were making out he would leave rangers if they didn't get promoted this year!!

Lafferty is a step up from Daly Miller Clark and boyd, we need to be realis

Believable3 Unbelievable6

24 Mar 2015 11:37:05
there are plenty players that would be a step up from those you mention but Lafferty isn't the answer. Don't think it would be hard to find a younger, better and cheaper player than him

Agree6 Disagree0

24 Mar 2015 12:17:06
Is it too much of a step up to take on a philosophy in which we don't sign ex players past their prime. We've gone this route and it failed miserably.

Agree4 Disagree0

24 Mar 2015 12:19:35
I agree Stewie, we have to get away from signing ex players who are passed it altogether.
McCall will find young guys in England who will do us a turn on a fraction of the dough he'd be looking for.

Agree4 Disagree1

24 Mar 2015 12:32:10
So at 27 you are past your prime? How many younger and better options than lafferty would want to come?

Agree1 Disagree2

24 Mar 2015 12:48:04
CeeXXX

Let's be honest did he ever have a prime? If he was any good then why has he failed at Sion and Norwich? And why didn't a better team take him on loan? He isn't the type of player we need and there will be better players out there. He had his time at the club and chose to leave.

Agree3 Disagree1

24 Mar 2015 14:58:28
I would love to know which better players out there want to come to Scotland and play.

Lafferty failed at Norwich? Your saying that as if Norwich are craps, have you seen there team? They would win the spl lol

Agree2 Disagree0

24 Mar 2015 18:04:45
Lafferty was a failure 1st time around and quite frankly he was an embarrassment. I for one could do without watching him trying to get fellow professionals sent off by feigning head butts and embarrassing the club with his nonsense off field. The boy thought he was better than he actually is and that was his downfall. Had his chance and blew it, not again thanks.

Agree2 Disagree2

24 Mar 2015 21:13:10
Let's just keep Daly eh

Agree0 Disagree2

25 Mar 2015 00:06:01
lafferty naismith and a good few others should never be allowed back near ibrox after deserting the ship to grab easy money sdm onc said after they leave ibrox its all down hill and for quite a few that's been thhe case

Agree3 Disagree1

24 Mar 2015 09:55:11
Lafferty always reminded me of a baby giraffe when he played he was unsteady on his feet had no skill and couldn't hit a barn door from 6 yards.

Believable5 Unbelievable1

24 Mar 2015 10:02:44
Kyle Giraffety maybe? lol

Bampot. Some great memories over three title runs ins, but disappeared in some big games. Can't be trusted, got major attributes, does'nt use them nearly often enough.backward step.

24 Mar 2015 08:56:15
hi ed, just wondering about the 5 loan players from newcastle. if they did not have medicals, would they have been covered insurance wise while they are at ibrox. if not, and they got seriously injured, would we have been liable for all costs??

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - they can't sign a deal without insurance, the players union requires insurance for a professional contract to be done.}

24 Mar 2015 09:01:47
Surely then in order to get the players insured medicals need to be done and evidence submitted that they have been carried out?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - they would have medical records and it depends on the form of insurance. If you only want the wages covered, then it is different from wanting the treatment paid for.}

24 Mar 2015 11:23:56
cheers ed for clearing that up, found it all very strange!!

Mixed news in today's press. Firstly, great to see Murray openly lambasting the old regime in terms of the financial mess he is uncovering. Also, the Three Bears have injected £1.5m in short term cash to cover Thursday's wage bill. Not so good news is Kyle Lafferty stating he'd fancy a return to Ibrox. Wasn't he one of the players who disappeared pretty damn quickly when the chickweed hit the fan? Apart from that, he is a liability.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

24 Mar 2015 08:35:09
I'd take lafferty back in a minute, descent player.

Agree4 Disagree6

24 Mar 2015 09:04:12
Wouldn't want him anywhere near the club again. Only reason he is saying his is because he has been a failure since deserting the club. Failed at Sion failed at Norwich and now out on loan in Turkey. Funny how certain players get nostalgic about previous clubs when there career is flagging

Agree7 Disagree3

24 Mar 2015 10:42:37
Let's keep Daly Boyd and Miller then

Agree3 Disagree2

24 Mar 2015 11:36:22
Keep Clark and give Miller a one year deal and bring another striker in

Agree2 Disagree2

24 Mar 2015 11:39:01
So what your saying is that it's either keep Boyd and Daly or bring back Lafferty? You don't think we could anyone better?

Agree1 Disagree1

24 Mar 2015 12:51:19
I wouldn't keep Clark or Miller. Miller is past his best and Clark isn't good enough at Premiership level. he has struggled in the championship this season and never looks like scoring in the big games. Still think it's best to have a mass clearout and start again in the summer

Agree4 Disagree1

24 Mar 2015 19:55:26
Stewie Clark has never been given a fair crack or run of games, I would keep Boyd as backup along with young Gallacher, Vukic would be a good signing to play upfront with Clark or even a Clark Templeton partnership

The Day The Dream Started
As a wee boy of about 9 or 10 years old I remember Davie Cooper visited my primary school in Hamilton. Davie showed us a few tricks with a ball and gave us all a Rangers lapel badge. From that day forward any goal I scored was accompanied by the cry And Cooper scores for Rangers accompanied by a full lap of the playground. Happy day's indeed.
Some years later after beating Celtic in the cup final my mate and me bumped in Davie and Jimmy Nicolle in the Avonbridge hotel in Hamilton after the match and to show you the mark of the man he got me and my big mate a pint and we had a chat about the game.
What a class act. A true Rangers Legend working for the club he loved for a fair wage & delivering the goods week in week out
RIPDC when will we see your likes again
