Just heard our captain lee wallace's full interview today on the radio clyde phone in there tonight, absolutely superb and everything we'd expect from a rangers captain, he speaks very maturely about the scotland national team situation and all things rangers and it's very evident how much he loves rangers, as well as being a terrific left back he's also a very humble gentleman and I'm very proud as a blue nose to have lee wallace as our captain of the greatest football club in the world, 'the famous glasgow rangers'!

He's following in the footsteps of great rangers captains' from the past and is already proving very worthy in being our captain, the guy's a class act, on a very sad note I was very saddened to learn today of the death of a pure genius of a footballer, the one and only johan cruyff, my sincere condolences to all his family, rip johan cruyff! God bless! What a player and I'm very privileged to have seen this genius play the beautiful game, the football world will be poorer after johan's passing, a very sad loss!

25 Mar 2016 07:35:14
What does lee Wallace do again?

25 Mar 2016 10:20:50
Does not get continually injured or gets mental hair cuts like the east end boy.

25 Mar 2016 13:13:18
U at it tom?

25 Mar 2016 14:21:29
@ Warburtonthefifteenth.

What age are you? I'm 36 an never seen Cruyff play and with the way you write I didn't think you would have been old enough, I thought the 15 in your name must your age. For a grown man to write the way you do is a bit odd to say the least.

Oh btw Lee Wallace only tuped over to us because his Mrs had just had their first kid and she wanted to stay in Scotland to be near her family, ask him about it.

25 Mar 2016 16:04:49
Wot u think Ryan?

Trigger he, s writing a romantic novel about "our manager" mark Warburton and " our great football club, that is Glasgow Rangers" now "our captain lee Wallace " because some Rangers fans might not know our managers name? Or what his job is? If you know what I mean.

25 Mar 2016 16:22:09
I was at ibrox in 73 as a 10yr old, cruyff was superb, they won 3_1

Rangers played well in away leg, losing 3_2, I think, might have been the first super cup final.

25 Mar 2016 18:49:24
Comon realllllly. u don't know why 15 in his name. are u really a gers fan. ok how many managers have rangers had in there history.

25 Mar 2016 19:19:23
Think your right Davie. Some people even abject to w15 calling rangers our great football club.

25 Mar 2016 19:30:18
for the record I watched the great cruyff playing in the '74 world cup at the tender age of 7 years old.

25 Mar 2016 21:56:16
He didn't pick up on that 1 at all.

25 Mar 2016 23:09:51
well i'm 68 and saw cruyff at ibrox also guys like kurt hamrin puskas / de stefano gento all great players.

24 Mar 2016 18:48:35
16 top team league 30 games. all teams enter cup comps at 1st round with no seedings. that would mean 6 extra games to make short fall in league. imagine forres mechanics getting gers then celtic in both cups. revenue alone would sort them for season. this ain't just about big teams let's change so smaller teams can grow aswell then whole infrastructure in scotland could then grow as teams will have more pounds. most smaller teams if they played at ibrox woulf create enough revenue for whole season but while our spl cheifs in charge then no chance of change cause they fuds.

25 Mar 2016 00:33:46
I think it's cool you can see Forres drawing what are commonly called Rangers in both cups, beating them and then drawing Celtic.
It appeals to the fitbaw romantic in me.

25 Mar 2016 10:23:09
Rangers is the name and they didn't beat us.

25 Mar 2016 10:24:04
We could go for 3 leagues of 20 inviting 18 teams from highland, lowland, junior and amateur leagues or even 2 leagues of 21 and scrapping cup replays for draws which will help with the extra league games.

24 Mar 2016 14:55:40
Had a wee chuckle that Moyes is apparently to take the Villa job next year. Rather take the worst team in EPL history (this years villa team) than try and out smart the magic hat. A don't blame him, who wants to juggle 25 average midfielders all season to an empty where house? 😂😂.

24 Mar 2016 17:04:41
Obsession it's not just a perfume 😉.

24 Mar 2016 17:21:50
Your on a Rangers page precious. Enjoy Ronnie next year, a know we will.

24 Mar 2016 17:37:46
What would yous know about perfume or aftershave, or have your club started to send some out with their reminder letters on personal hygiene.

24 Mar 2016 18:40:18
Yous, lol . Can I ask, now the " magic hat " has you playing like a cross between brazil 78 and Barcelona 16, just how many other managers have sat up and taken notice, whisking your players off on international duty this week? I believe including under 21s Ronny had sent around 30 players off to represent their countries .

{Ed039's Note - Celtic have 30 players away either on full international or Under 21 duty? Really?)

24 Mar 2016 19:29:02
I've told him a million times not to exaggerate!

24 Mar 2016 19:41:35
Precious

Brazil 78? Do u not mean 58?

24 Mar 2016 20:31:57
Actually biffo was thinking of the 1970 team that beat Italy , did they not play a 4-3-3 with attacking full backs, lol .

24 Mar 2016 20:47:12
Probably Brazil 70 in Mexico. I remember it well.

25 Mar 2016 00:05:45
Brazil team of 1958 weren't too bad either.

25 Mar 2016 08:21:10
precious they are not away on international duty its called community service

As long as Mulgrew is in an international pool it can't be taken seriously.

25 Mar 2016 11:35:12
Precious your players on international duty play for norway denmark scotland otherwise known as diddy teams of international football nothing to be proud of but then again good experience for your players playing in full stadiums for a change give them a wee idea what it will be like to play at ibrox next season.

25 Mar 2016 14:46:38
As opposed to the ones you have playing for, Spain, Argentina, brazil and Germany? Sorry meant watching them on the telly, lmfao .

25 Mar 2016 15:43:08
Our players will have international recognition soon enough precious, straight after we put you's back in your rightful place in Scottish football, 2nd.
Roll on 55!

25 Mar 2016 17:44:55
Yes I'm sure harry Kane, Jamie vardy and the rest must be quacking in there boots at the thought of waghorn and halliday taking there place when you get up to try and open your top flight account .

25 Mar 2016 20:52:13
Harry Kane and Jamie Vardy would have to be nuts to be scared of Halliday taking there place, he's Scottish. Mulgrew should be worried about him taking his place though.

24 Mar 2016 15:05:33
I've though from I was at school the scottish league would have been better combining with the Highland league and the best of the juniors and having a 16 team premiership with 2 leagues of 20 below with 2 up 2 down in all the leagues also with a playoff spot for 3rd top and 3rd bottom ect you just have to look at how well teams like ICT, Ross County, Peterhead ect have done and I think it could work it would let the premier have a 32 week season which would also allow plenty of time for cup replays and a break during the worst part of winter but not sure how it would work with the lower 2 leagues to have a break to help give the lower league pitched time to recover after a game every 2nd week during winter and I'd also like to see some sort of pyramid system for the best remaining junior teams ect to have a route into the league setup but as I say not sure how some of it would work but it's a thought I've had since I was at school.

24 Mar 2016 22:00:02
Zeus79. I don't know if you've heard, but the borders is in Scotland. Funny how it's always overlooked. The excuse used to be no train and rubbish roads, but we now we have the train so no excuses get a borders team in the leagues or it's not truly a Scottish league.

25 Mar 2016 08:34:21
I used to have thoughts about Linda lusardi when I was at skool
Tommy.

25 Mar 2016 08:38:51
There is already a pyramid system in place. Junior teams do not fall under this system as they are a totally separate association. Most junior teams have no interest in joining either the lowland or highland league where they would be able to progress through the pyramid system as they make too much money from social clubs etc where they can sell alcohol at games. Its financially safer for these clubs to remain junior.
If Brora manage to tip Formartine to te highland league title I fully expect them to beat East Stirling in a play off an be promoted this year.

25 Mar 2016 13:58:13
Sorry, Am I mistaken or are Berwick, Queen of the South and Annan not borders?

24 Mar 2016 13:23:34
R. I. P. Johan Cruyff legend and someone who made the game a joy to watch.

24 Mar 2016 14:39:37
He started the style of play which every good player aspires to be in my opinion with his skill. Great player.

24 Mar 2016 14:41:46
Wonderful player, smoked like a chimney, but it didn't stop his genius
Tommy.

24 Mar 2016 14:47:29
True legend.

24 Mar 2016 10:37:36
Seeing as we have such a good relationship with Tottenham, what do we reckon to potentially getting our mitts on Tom Carroll. he's out of contract at the end of this season, Has been playing a bit-part role in their squad, I don't doubt that some of the relegation level EPL teams would be in for him but surely must be worth a punt!

24 Mar 2016 12:01:16
If Mark Warburton Brings In A Striker Its Going To Be Someone With Pace Believe Me, If He Brings In Someone Like Carroll I'll Be Suprised.

24 Mar 2016 12:12:27
Tom Carroll is a 23yr old midfielder who was on loan to Swansea for last season and has made 17 appearances for Spurs this season, mostly off the bench.

24 Mar 2016 12:12:43
Tom Carroll and Andy Carroll aren't the same person!

24 Mar 2016 17:07:08
Lol woops, Bluegenius is right btw, TeddyOfTheSouth sorry there matey, i checked there who you are talking about, good shout btw *****.

24 Mar 2016 00:46:21
I think now is the time to change Scottish football and make the prem 16 teams, it would make the league stronger and be more competitive with us falkirk , Raith and hibs in the prem it would get better sponsor's . the league format in Scotland has been poor for years and needs a change if you have QoS at mirren Morton Dunfermline peterhead in the championship it could be a competitive league as well,2 up 2 down 1 playoff place what does evert everyone else think?

24 Mar 2016 07:12:01
Bang on mate, been needing it for years, i reckon they'll change it if utd and killie get dropped and the hobos miss out to falkirk .

24 Mar 2016 07:25:49
Not this year, I would love it but if it was suggested a couple of years ago dundee utd would of said no what do you think they would say now. They are a team that I want to suffer let's make the league bigger when they are relegated from the championship or out of business.

24 Mar 2016 08:41:40
I want all those against us to suffer, especially dudee Utd, a Cani wait to see them go down and be involved in a battle wi hibs and killie and all the rest of the battle hardened teams down there who will make it tough for them

All together now.

24 Mar 2016 10:39:44
Would love to c the top league extended once we have rightfully claimed our place back in it, would hate for the theorists to say we got back up by default. TBH I think it would be a far more entertaining league with 15/ 16 teams.

24 Mar 2016 11:05:40
I know what people are saying they want Dundee u and a few teams to suffer but if we are to have a league that is worth anything we need to see the bigger picture we are on the up and don't really care what other reams are doing and I don't know think it will be long till Dundee u would be relegated anyway my point is for Scottish football and it won't be long till we are sitting top of the pack again.

24 Mar 2016 11:19:28
Couldn't agree more, everyone in scottish football knows it has to change. Playing the same team 4 times a season. Its a joke. 16 team prem would be ideal, 32 games per season home and away, scrap cup replays, possibly scrap the league cup as the winners don't even get in europe, absolute meaningless. Less fixture congestion, winter break. Pitches would improve, less wear and tear in theory. Cap ticket prices like they do in germany, focus on youth and developing our own players. Its win win situation as the product now is embarressing. God knows what they do at the SFA as this is pure common sense.

24 Mar 2016 12:16:15
16 team league means only 30 games Coldo as you don't play yourself! ;)

I reckon we should look at a British cup to replace both league cup up here and down south. It would give us some more glamorous ties against prem teams hopefully and this would give us a financial boost due to the loss of big old firm gates and everyone would have something new to play for. being British Champs!

{Ed001's Note - there are ongoing talks to add the Prem U21 sides to the JPT trophy, maybe that could expand to add some Scottish sides too? To test and see if it could work I mean.}

24 Mar 2016 13:51:35
I stand corrected mate 😂.

24 Mar 2016 14:44:11
As much as I agree in theory with laughing at Hibs and Dundee Utd next year eating Karma all season (and it will be histerical) I think for the good of the game we need to go to 16 teams.
The games dying a death up here and I don't think us returning will be enough to change that on its own.
I would take just as much enjoyment from wiping the floor with both of them next year as well.
Should have done it last year and the SPFL would have been a cracker this year that's for sure. Would never had happened when we were going to be benefit though was it.

24 Mar 2016 15:42:35
Scotty- How can they say that? The league will be won by a clear way in a few weeks.

24 Mar 2016 16:17:52
It'll never happen, or at least the teams like Dundee, Partick etc will fight it. They rely heavily on the revenue from playing against the old firm, 4 times a season for them is a lot of money that they need. It has to happen but they all have to agree.

24 Mar 2016 16:49:57
The other problem with only playing 2 games against each other is that it only means 2 old firm games. This won't suit sky and they are likely to pay even less money to the Scottish game than they already do.

24 Mar 2016 21:31:27
That's why I think a British cup is crucial.
There are less old firms but all Scottish teams could draw premium teams from down south to subsidise.
Also sky would have an exciting new competition to promote.
Imagine Gers v Man u or Celtic v Chelsea! Partick v Arsenal lol.

25 Mar 2016 00:37:19
Gers v Man U. ROFLMAO. OTIG.

25 Mar 2016 08:31:02
GENIUS There used to be a 'British Cup' (Texaco cup) but the big teams weren't interested.
Your third match there is the proof that it wouldn't work. Why would anyone want to go to the Firhill quagmire and risk their top players?
The first two games would be nice to see but suspect they would sent their third string or rather play friendlies in the Far East.

25 Mar 2016 14:07:04
Scotjo- I say that because some people have a very short memory we are dealing with a fraternity that can't even get their head round the fact that Glasgow Rangers are a club. So you mark my words! if league reconstruction was to happen this summer, by the end of next year we would be getting "league was only reconstructed to facilitate Rangers! ) -That's how I can say that!
