The toms are giving is a hard time cause we signed aluko but surely he can't be any worse than samaras? 2 league goals since Jan 2nd. Is there a striker out there will a worse strike rate? {Ed003's Note - Beattie ?? }

Never played the same amount of games Ed. Blue4ever {Ed001's Note - no, but he was awful too, 003 is probably thinking of his time in orange at Blackpool. I will now wait for the abuse I will get off him for calling it orange!}

Ok so Beattie was a... How does one put it .. Poor signing! But TBH how many games did he actually play for Rangers? may have been on a decent wage by SPL standards but even the stupids have to admit he hardly got a run out! So to compare him with Samararse ( who's manager has backedhim to the hilt) is a bit of a no go!

As a true rangers man my opinion on Beattie.... Turned out bad for the guy, it waswell documented when we signed him that he needed a pre-season training regime due to missing out on stoke city's training for reasons best known to them. Possibly injury/ fall out with Pullis? Came up here started 1st SPL game and looked unfit. Picked up an injury and played a bit part, with the form of K.miller and signing of Jelavic then another injury never really got going with us. Loaned to Blackpool for remainder of season plus return of Jelavicfrom injury also

Then big Kyle hit form, we won the league then decided to cut our losses. Not to mention Naismiths start to the season . Need I go on?

At the start of the season Whyte said our wage bill is far to high. I reckon a bit of shuffling and we could be sorted.

Get rid of Weir, Mculloch, Broadfoot and Kerkar. My guess is that would free up about 30k a week in wages? That's more than £1m a year!

Start using Fleck as a striker, give Little a shot as well. Play Ness when he's fit and give Hutton a shot when he's back. Guys like Mcmillan and Cole should really get their chance to.

I'd give Whitts a shot on the RW cos he can't defend for sh*t.

Add this to hopefully seeing Mackay and Bedoya improve and having Bartley back as cover for CB.

Finally I'd like to see Healy and Fleck given a chance to show what they can do up front with Jela. Not a 5 min sub but a full 90 mins maybe for 2 or 3 games.

Any thoughts people?

Exactly. All the dhims slaggin Aluko for payin part of his transfer fee, but their captain has shown he has no interest in staying with the SPL's second best. Sayin we are skint yet their latest signing was a freebie.
I'm still waiting for their mascot dimalloy to discuss an actual football matter. In fact I'm waiting for him to discuss a Celtic matter. He is obsessed with Scotlands champions. So envious of our success its laughable.

Does anyone else think Rangers were within their rights to negotiate the compensation fee with Aberdeen? All the manky mob are jumpin up on their high horses over this because Aluko made a contribution.

I don't understand why Aberdeen were entitled to compensation for training and development. They signed him as a first team regular and played in the first team for 4 seasons. He didn't come through the youth ranks so I don't see how Aberdeen aided his development.

The Gers had every right to fight that daft compensation rule, especially for a player who was ALWAYS a first team regular

My thoughts exactly mate.as soon as he was due an improved contract they couldn't get him out the door quick enough.Then when we are showing an interest he becomes a product off the endless conveyor belt of talent up in sheep land. correct me if im wrong but did he not come through the youth setup at birmingham?

He did indeed then Birmingham loaned him out to Aberdeen who later signed him on a permanent contract for a small fee, possibly on a free, ain't 100% sure. From then on he was a first team regular, a developed player if you like, yet Rangers have to pay compensation for "development" of an already developed player.

Gotta love the SPL's rules. Spiffing!

I have never been in favour of him signing for us. He is a decent enough player with bags of SPL experience. He isn't my cup of tea and I never rated him at Aberdeen....but he is a Gers player now and I can only accept it. Hopefully he can make some sort of impact in Naisy's absence.

I for one an totally scunnered by the attitude of our fans towards Edu!

The man has been one of our best players this season behind Goian, Boccanegra and McGregor.

Lets get one thing straight, when Edu arrived for the furst 2 seasons he was a good player and served us well, last season he had a bad spell but to his credit he was still up for the challenge and pulled the jersey on anytime Walter and Ally asked him too.

The man has got 3 title winners medals in his back pocket and like it or not has contributed into every season.

Also, you compare him to McCulloch, Ness, Bartley and anyone else who you may feel will take his place, Edu is always fit, available and gets on the park, more than can be said for other players in our squad.

He should be applauded for his attitude, yes he does not get everything right and makes mistakes, but the guy is a try hard and for me he would be in my team whether it be in the middle with Davis or on the right where he plays for America.

I had an arguement on Saturday with a fan next to me, who shouted, "I a'int being racist but that BB Is f***in s***e!" What a great way to encourage a servant of your club through thick and thin and of course the rest of the boo boys then just join in.

Why not try to support the team and get behind every player.

ED014 just read a very informative post down the page a bit about all Rangers financial dealings. What got my attention is that apparently Mr Whyte only speaks to Sally by PHONE.
As a Tim, I was brought up on fair play, so can I in this spirit, say to Mr Whyte that Tesco Mobile have a deal where if you top up £10 they give you £20 to use in that month. So an agreement with Aberdeen is almost done for Sone Aluko. How long will it take Rangers to pay them or is this another one that will go to court for payment.

Once again the Sun reports that Jelavic will be sold in January. I think he will be with us until the end of the season at least. He seems content enough and will want to finish on a high by winning the league.
