Is cg going to still call for a show of books and prove who has best balance as previously proclaimed at end of yr?

Is traynor going to retract comments over his new employer not going to be the team formally known as rangers?

Agree22 Disagree2

I see #1 was on the celtic page moaning you hadnt posted his comment. Sad.

Agree1 Disagree7

Me thinks smoke and mirrors were were the big questions, what colour are the seats going to be Really that was the most important question you could ask

Just wanted to write a post in response to anyone who keeps going on about where the fans money is going, or why haven't we been told this or that?

My answer is, who cares? As long as there is still a team to support and a service is being provided for the money I pay then they can do whatever they want with the money. You wouldn't start shouting at your local corner shop, or restaurant and demand to know what they're going to do with your money would you?

I'm sure there are people on here who have their own business. What would your reaction be if one of your customers demanded this information from you? You tell them where to go.

Let's face it. Rangers fans are customers of the club and we pay for a service which is still being provided. If we don't like the service, we don't pay for it. Simple as that! If you don't like the food in a restaurant, you stop going. Corner shop too expensive? Find another one.

Get on with supporting your team and stop moaning about anything and everything. Rangers are in the third division and we play to that level. Whether we spend more than all these teams put together I couldn't care less. Rangers are my team and I will support them wherever and however they play without complaint.

So by what you posted Murray and Whyte are blameless? They took the money, done what they wanted and you don't mind?

Agree21 Disagree4

If I went into a corner shop and the shop keeper told me he was running at a loss but will soon be running at a profit the first thing I would ask is so how much is it going to cost for a loaf now then ?? just a thought for season ticket holders

Agree15 Disagree2

Well we will be in the third tier next season so I expect season ticket prices to rise.

Yep, Charles Green is simply following the tried and tested Pied-Piper model that David Murray used with ease.

Green: "Won't the fans go mental if they discoer that, despite our world record-breaking crowds, and our successful share issue, that we are Infact running at a loss in our first season?"

Traynor: "Ha ha ha, you're new here aren't you Charles? Just grab the flute and play a song of stadium development and those stupid mugs won't question a thing!"

Green: "Come on Jim, that's insulting to their intelligence. They're surely not that daft?"

Traynor: "Oh they are. They sure are"

i cannot understand why we are running at a loss when our overheads have been slashed.

Green says we are on course to turn over about 25m this year yet we are running at a loss. The wage bill is below 7m and even taking into account other overheads, give that say about 13m although I would suspect it would be lower than that. That leaves at least 5m so how are we running at a loss.

Is this another big black hole where money disappears just like it did under murray ?

Agree28 Disagree3

Business guys syphon money out of companies under the guise of operating costs. It's not difficult. Invoices arrive for services such as consultants, advisers, studies, ....... And the bank transfers flow the money out. It's all above board in the accounts but was any value received?

Agree16 Disagree0

He must be pressed to publish audited accounts.

Agree17 Disagree1

The last thing we want is an annual report. What we want is more detail than that level. I want to see precisely where every penny is going.

Charles Green has relaunched a classic moonbeam with claims about a new expanded stadium to cope with the demands of the last 16 of the Champions League.

In times of trouble former Rangers owner Dave Murray used to feed his media friends tales of stadium development often featuring a retractable roof, hotel complex, super-casino, transport interchange (including high speed links to Glasgow Airport), conference centre and a bowling and cinema complex raising the capacity to 80,000 or more allowing Ibrox to stage world championship boxing bouts and host superstar concerts such as Wet Wet Wet.

While not giving away the same amount of details the new look Ibrox could become the second biggest stadium in Glasgow over-taking the capacity of southside giants Queens Park at Hampden.

Speaking in an exclusive interview staged by new communications chief Jim Traynor the Yorkshireman reveals: "I had this discussion with Ally, who knows this club significantly better than I do. He said if I could deliver consistently being in the Champions League and get into the last 16, then this stadium would not be big enough.

"If and when we get to that position, and I am confident we will, these are discussions the board will happily have.

"With the way the ground is configured, there is great opportunity to fill in the two corners and put another deck above the Argyle, which would substantially increase capacity."

Green has been hosting a series of meetings about naming rights for the stadium but seems no closer to securing a deal to bring in further money.

Already this season he has discussed a likely kit deal with adidas, a commercial tie up with the Dallas Cowboys, bringing in three billionaire investors, having £30m in the bank and having a better balance sheet than Celtic.

Whether the new super stadium proposals go the same way as those other pledges remains to be seen.

Believable41 Unbelievable3

Blame the labour Gov for the past plans not baring fruit as they scuppered all the regional Casino plans I'm sure Glasgow city council approved it even the one planned for Manchester was binned

David murry did develop the stadium he added the third tier to the main stand and filled in the two corners, did you forget about that?

green says the manager has got millions to spend on the squad green says he will build bigger stadium a bigger shop and bar will rename murray park all this why running at a loss but he says we won't run at a loss next year you getting the picture hear all empty promises actions speak louder than words
if we have money to spend am sure there is 17 year olds good anuf out there wanting to play for rangers yet we hear nothing on this front regarding players this is the way forward not 30 year old players looking for a last pay day action is needed not words

Believable21 Unbelievable3

Revenue and Capital. You can run a business at a loss but still have a Capital sum tucked away to use as and when you see fit either to expand revenue streams or for one off projects -loads of companies opperate like this including the SPL to an extent when they make no profit every year for tax purposes.

Renaming of Ibrox waw what about CG consulting the fans over renaming Murray Park what happened to this promise with our season tickets. More sound bites ..........

Believable22 Unbelievable1

BORING! Same old rubbish. Who cares about renaming of Murray Park? Are they likely to make any money from it?

They can name Ibrox whatever they want, it'll still get called Ibrox by fans.

St Mirren built a whole new stadium about half a mile from where it used to be and I still hear St Mirren fans calling it Love Street.

BigBear1873

@1 I have never heard it being called love st! Think you are telling porkies. {The Ed039's Note - My mate is a Buddie and he says Love Street, but he is 60 odd and stuck in his ways)

Two fans at my work still call it love street.

So The Rangers are running at a loss . . . insolvency is inevitable for this version of the Ibrox franchise.

Of course, expenditure like Green's rent of £16K a month, his £80K a month salary, Stockbridge and Ahmeds similar salary with the promise of 100% bonuses when "promotion" is secured coupled with the magic cardigans £60K salary and big Jabbas executive package !

The futures bright!

Ibrox naming rights issue - a good compromise would surely be to sell the naming rights for the stands (all except the struth main stand) to 3 different sponsors. Ok we won't make so much £ but Ibrox will always be Ibrox.

Believable6 Unbelievable21

Good idea but why not do both?

Agree2 Disagree3

You're spot on mate Ibrox will always be Ibrox. Who exactly do you think will refer to the stadium as: the sports direct arena or whatever Barry White we're talking about? Free money for Rangers and a wee ego trip for the corporate is what it amounts to. It's a bit different when clubs move to new facilities- soulless monikers like: the etihad or the emirates can be tolerated, changing a historical name is a different kettle of fish. I don't know what Newcastle fans would say: I'm off to the sports direct, rather than St James' Park- I'd guess at about none.

Agree3 Disagree12

The Toilet Duck Stand, The Domestos Stand and The Fairy Liquid Stand... Clean up the mess left behind ? ....TTTS

Agree19 Disagree5

@2 TV and radio commentators would be obliged to call the stadium by its new name otherwise why would a sponsor outlay money in the first place.

Agree19 Disagree1

@2; you seem to forget that on all official club paperwork the new name will be used, in every broadcast it will be used.If the name Ibrox is not incorporated in the title it will soon be disregarded. You mention Newcastle, they could not keep St James in their re name.

Agree14 Disagree0

Why do you need the word ibrox in the stadium name as long as its still above the subway people will still find it

Agree3 Disagree6

A lot of people, tims included, call c@ltic park - parkhead, that's just the area that the ground is in same as if Ibrox is renamed its still IN Ibrox and will still be called Ibrox.
