Use our rumours form to send us rangers transfer rumours.

25 Jan 2017 22:34:34
Why doesn't rangers send out scouts to france or germany or italy for young players between 18-20 and steal there talent on the cheap before they become known as up and coming super stars i could name a few . Ichenaho of man city dembele or umtiti or sergi roberto or rashford . There should be a proper scouting network set up. Just my opinion but if DK don't splash the cash this summer he never will there's a chance of europe next season and another crack at celtic

25 Jan 2017 22:44:08
Every club in the premiership and championship and in every major league in the world deploy scouts everywhere - they can offer more money a better quality league, playing with and against better players. that's why we have to take risks with injury prone, free transfers or loans or players deemed not good enough anymore.

25 Jan 2017 22:44:37
Why don't you give the Rangers switchboard a call? I'm sure DK will never have considered setting up a decent scouting network. you might get a we fee for the idea!

26 Jan 2017 00:41:13
There's players all over the world in all the leagues with young potential but all the big teams have scouts watching them it's not easy to get what u want the big teams always get the best youth players.

26 Jan 2017 08:58:38
RfcChris

Although that's true you still have to try. Celtic have picked up a few good players on the cheap and sold them for big money and I'm sure there were scouts from other clubs there too

26 Jan 2017 14:08:53
I think the issue is that we don't have any scouts or anywhere near the amount required to scout abroad.

26 Jan 2017 14:43:10
That's just a bit of luck rossiter crooks windass forrister and more could have hit the ground running and made big money moves u can't see into the future players ither do well or don't an injurys have not helpt us we need to take risks even wags had potential but to me bringing in loans with potential is just a kick in the teeth developing other players for no return

26 Jan 2017 15:05:42
I hope that we do get a few from abroad bring back the dutch invasion lol

25 Jan 2017 22:17:22
Just noticed Hardie scored for Raith against Hearts tonight coming off the bench.

25 Jan 2017 22:36:14
looked good for us under staurt mcccall to just pity lad not got his chance under Warburton.

26 Jan 2017 00:31:07
Hes struggled badly for goals this season while out on loan I honestly can't see him making the grade

26 Jan 2017 00:31:07
Hes struggled badly for goals this season while out on loan I honestly can't see him making the grade

26 Jan 2017 05:56:27
To be fair he struggled for goals for St Mirren who have been awful. He will get more chances with Raith.

26 Jan 2017 15:06:49
hardie isn't the answer as we have strikers that struggle to score here already don't want another one

25 Jan 2017 20:16:06
Guys need to remember where we were last few years, the negativity in here is crazy!
We didn't exactly fly thru every division first time of asking. Second place this year and Europe was goal and MW will achieve that. Youth system will come good in a few years and until Cashley contracts are sorted then good loan signings and frees is likely market we r in, with maybe 1 or 2 1mill signings coming in at very best.
I expect us to be much further ahead of 3rd place next year and closer to Celtic.
Patience guys it's not a sprint to success!

25 Jan 2017 22:26:30
scotty123, time and patience it was always going to be! If people can't see that and thought we would have instant succes then they're supporting the wrong club!

The true and greatest glasgow rangers fans, can always be found when the chips are down. Get behind the club!

26 Jan 2017 07:16:38
You expect us to be further ahead of 3rd? If the sheep win their game in hand WE ARE 3RD!

Exactly mate this is what some people on here just don't get. Unfortunately under Warburton it's become acceptable to some support to lose to Celtic every game. Incredibly Warburton came out with the statement "Don't judge me against Celtic" a statement that I've never heard another Rangers manager ever say. It's become acceptable that after just over half the matches in the league we are 22 points behind them. These same people think somehow Warburton will turn this around and challenge Celtic. Your spot on we have spent far more money than Aberdeen or Hearts but we aren't any better and I would say finishing 2nd is no better than 50/ 50. The team are a shambles with Warburton still not knowing what his best 11 are and we need better players all over the park. The lack of goals are alarming and the high number of goals conceded will continue unless something is done. Warburton has failed to recognise this and continually plays the same players who make the same mistakes. It's sad times at the club and even sadder that a losing mentality is accepted at the club

26 Jan 2017 14:30:12
We only need to look at the Scottish game as a whole. Warb has only just set a new regime in place with young guys / scouting . What is worrying me is we have no steel. Build from the back up. That is the problem we continue to be vulnerable to leak goals. that's fine as slong as you are firing goals in we are not.

25 Jan 2017 19:17:04
a don't see the point in signing these players on a 6 month loan . well be back to square 1 at the end of the season. surely it would be worth while getting them for at least a years contract to get the benefit out them .

25 Jan 2017 16:49:16
Marley Watkins handed in a transfer request today. That is a player we should be going for! 6 months left on his contract and wants to leave, he will be dirt cheap right now. Fast player, and has done well this season.

25 Jan 2017 17:15:32
If we can make a choice i think we'd all take Hourihane.

Wouldnt say no to Watkins, i'd suggest that would spell the end for someone though, probably MOH.

25 Jan 2017 17:19:23
Thats an Ebeneezer on one page now a Marley on this page, this is turning out to be quite a story.

25 Jan 2017 20:29:52
Nice one Bhampot gave a chuckle 😄😄

25 Jan 2017 21:17:13
If i go to the next page i'm fully expecting a loan deal for Bob Cratchit to be announced.

26 Jan 2017 17:09:15
Already got a few muppets in our team

25 Jan 2017 12:16:34
I grudgingly accept that we're 2nd best to Celtic by a fair way and the point gap tells the story but to say we can't compete and lay the blame on King is wrong. We have a far superior budget to the teams lower in the league and but for a 3 nil win over Kilmarnock haven't put any team to the sword.

Most wins are by one goal and we battle to score 2. I'd accept the 6 points behind Celtic losing home away but not the 22 it'll be tonight. Don't blame King for not beating Ross County and St Johnstone.

25 Jan 2017 15:50:37
kfraser, the only way we were ever going to be within 6 points of Celtic was if they'd kept Ronnie in charge!

Celtic moved the goal posts by bringing in Brenda and a couple of key players. most of our guys are top end championship level (albeit overpaid) and many of them were always going to struggle in the PL.

It's a transition season for us. I'm sure that come the summer there will be a decent budget to bring another one or two in.

25 Jan 2017 16:24:06
Celtic payed £3.5m for Scott Sinclair and pay him £35,000 a week. Also brought Moussa Dembele in and pay him a king's ransome every week. They have funds to go out and spend £3m in this window on Eboue to tighten their back line. There is no goalpost moving involved. Just money available to their manager to lift the standard of football the team play above the current level of the rest domestically. Why you think he demanded a high level of funding when he took the job? He wouldn't be sitting as pretty in the league and his team wouldn't even have got the point they managed in the CL.

25 Jan 2017 16:56:34
Keepbelieving, no-one is disputing your thoughts but the fact is that Celtic were not forced into liquidation by shysters who had nothing to offer the club.

I think were doing ok considering where we were only 2 or 3 years ago.

If we are not within 6 points of Celtic this time next season, I'd be worried that we were not achieving the way we should.

Even next season, I'd be surprised if we were serious challengers although Brenda will be offski and will be tough to replace.

25 Jan 2017 18:42:27
Good grief we are second in the top flight! How in hell can anybody say our players are top end championship class?

25 Jan 2017 19:02:44
I am very happy with the way Mark Warburton is transforming the club from the first team down to youth level. I am very content with the progress made domestically moving from being nearly men in the Championship to sitting 2nd in the Premiership. I also admire his ability to build a team using low budget buys, free transfers, pre contracts and basically every loophole he can find to improve the team. As he said he will always look to add value to the team and has done that with recent loans like Toral and Hyndman. But people suggesting that Rangers are behind this season due to Celtic moving the goalposts by appointing Rodgers is ludicrous. They simply have a bigger budget.

25 Jan 2017 19:40:47
keepbelieving, Celtic had a bigger budget last season under Ronnie but teetered on the brink until the end of the season.

Had Ronnie been in place this season I'm certain that we would have been close but he isn't. That's why Ian say they moved the goal posts. budget is great but it isn't everything. Man City is the perfect example over the last 5 years of up and down performances whilst outspending virtually everyone in Europe.

Seeker, last season our players were head and shoulders above the rest but they are not up to to PL quality (with a few exceptions) . If they were, we would not have struggled so much against the teams at in the bottom half of the table.

MW's tactics are a bit one dimensional but he is working to a longer term plan. He is asking the players to play in his ssystem even though they may not be the best fit because that is the way he wants the club to perform for years to come.

Over time, it will gel

25 Jan 2017 21:32:56
How do toral and hyndman add value to our team? Think they will be good signings but they don't add value since they ain't our players. P. s BR65 why didn't he just sign players to fit his one dimensional system? Rather than keep signing midfielders when we need 2 defenders a striker and a winger?

25 Jan 2017 21:15:57
if Ronny was still in charge they wouldn't be that far ahead and he had a massive budget, so it is down to a change of manager that they're better than us. its down to management skills that guys like broon, armstrong, forrest etc look totally different players. its called good man management.

25 Jan 2017 21:50:24
BR65
If the players weren't PL standard we would be bottom of the league, wouldn't we?

26 Jan 2017 09:15:56
Keep believing

You are serious delusional if you think under Warburton we are ever going to challenge Celtic. We have a far bigger budget than Aberdeen yet we aren't any better than they are.

26 Jan 2017 15:45:33
difference is we have changed our team recently and they aren't clicking the right way but I don't think that's down to man management as all of Celtic's players are worth more than all of ours and have better experience at the top level

also warbs has helped wee McKay into who he is and I think to compare us to Aberdeen who have had the same team and been in the top flight the whole time we where coming back is wrong we will finish ahead of the sheep that much I do believe.

some people on here where singing warburtons praises and singing the magic hat some after he got us to pley great football last season and now because we don't have the funds to compete its the managers fault?!
naw I will keep believing and trusting in warbs and hopefully he gets money to show he does know the market better than people think.
you lot think it should have happened by now but can't see he is operating a team with both hands tied behind his back and are quick to criticize but slow to give credit for building a team that got promoted and is now sitting second in the PL.

you lot who are shouting that sort of stuff should be ashamed of your behaviour

25 Jan 2017 15:27:54
Reese Oxford looks like a no nonsense defender, just what we need!

25 Jan 2017 15:43:13
Aye, a no nonsense 18 year old with seven whole first team games at his back.

25 Jan 2017 16:10:23
My god what a post that is ecky, that's one of the worst replys in a while

25 Jan 2017 16:23:25
played 14 times if you count english cup and euro games lol

25 Jan 2017 16:23:51
7 more times than you ecky lol

25 Jan 2017 17:18:23
Games were in the EPL which is more than most if not all of our current squad!

25 Jan 2017 12:38:20
Reece Oxford on loan from West Ham thoughts on this 1?

25 Jan 2017 12:45:59
Would be ideal but think he's on the fringes of their 1st team, doubt they'd let him go out on loan.

25 Jan 2017 13:36:50
Looks like it could happen. The kind of player we need age is a wee concern but a think he will do a job

25 Jan 2017 13:40:52
Yeah sky sports are saying we are in advanced talks, hope this goes through, would be a big help for us getting 2nd place, really surprised at this, never saw this coming lol

25 Jan 2017 13:53:42
Big tall lad, comfortable on the ball. If we can pull this off I have no doubt he'll help us secure 2nd.

25 Jan 2017 14:00:03
Would be an absolute coup even if it was just for the rest of the season. Who knows, if all goes well it might get extended for another season.

25 Jan 2017 14:37:10
Just seen the article on SSN, hope I'm wrong and WH let him come to us for the remainder of the season, he's exactly the type of player we need to play the CB/ CDM holding role.

25 Jan 2017 15:06:51
Won't happen sadly.

25 Jan 2017 15:25:51
Usually when we're told it's in advanced talks from ssn it's more or less over the line I'm confident it will go through

25 Jan 2017 15:27:28
Naz, why won't it happen. do you have inside info?

Have to say that most of our deals over the last year or so have happened once the media start to say we are in serious discussions

25 Jan 2017 21:18:15
Warbs will play kiernan upfront just to give him a game if he signs this boy from west ham

25 Jan 2017 12:14:30
Stewie 25, Billyb

Asking the manager to take a job anywhere but ibrox isn't negative. whatever.

Saying we should sign someone to dictate the midfield, we did that, Joey Barton. Sign a defensive midfielder, we did that his name is Jordan Rossiter

MY POINT is there are way too many moaners on here forgetting we were drawing with Peterhead a couple of season's ago and we had a much bigger budget than them. People are moaning thinking we should beat everyone 4-0 and be signing strikers for 4 million, take a reality check.

Sure everything isn't perfect, some signings have been a disaster and the defence needs sorted, I'm really not sure Joe Garner was the best way to spend 1.8 million and also off the field we are no closer to sorting the retail deal. I understand that but don't feel the need to moan about it every post.

We are making progress on all fronts and are much more like our old selves than b4 King and Warburton took over. BUT should we finish worse than 2nd in the SPL I would agree that is not good enough.

Instead of saying u want the manager out, our midfield is useless and King is liar try posting realistic alternative options that would engage a positive discussion.

25 Jan 2017 13:00:23
Well said!

25 Jan 2017 13:38:49
@PeterHuistra

Everyone is entitled to their opinion mate! You don't need to agree, that's cool also.

I bump my gums often about things not being good enough. Positive energy is, well positive. However the truth is we have not moved very far forward at all, since draws with lower league teams.

The biggest difference from all the previous years is simple.

We are now back in the top league and there is no longer room for excuses or indeed time if we are to stop Celtic achieving dominance over the next 10 years. No more excuses that their titles are tainted because we are not in the league to chase them, that's all gone now. The record will show that from this season on every title Celtic win, we are in that league and failed to stop them.

Nothing has come from the board, King has been invisible and the investment is bare minimum. On top of that we have a manger who has consistently made mistakes and consistently says we will learn when he needs to be doing most of the learning. Now if we finish second great, that will be an achievement. However at this present moment I see nothing from this season that will see us compete in Europe and may well see us embarrassed. So on that front we will have to wait.

I am all for positive energy thinking etc. But this is a forum and all us fans are entitled to blow off steam when we feel it's required.

Give Warbs some money and we might really see what he is or isn't capable of, however so far he has spunked money away on bad investments! The truth is this season is a mess, second or not.

25 Jan 2017 13:51:51
I totally disagree with you saying this season is a mess, what did you expect from this season, we have been out this league for 4 yrs, we are slowly finding our feet, it's the first time our manager has played premier football, so he's also learning about this league, I agree we must finish 2nd but I think we will, I also expect to be much better next year, and I fancy at least 3/ 4 better players to arrive in the summer, you are right in saying that every fan is entitled to their opinion but the negativity on here is sole destroying at times, I think we are making good progress even though our board is being held back by Ashley and co, but we will get there and I fully believe it will be warburton that will get us there but time will tell if I'm right or wrong. but I believe in them to get the job done

25 Jan 2017 14:05:13
Listen mate I am certainly not saying everyone should agree with me! Of course the whole point of a banter page is for discussion. I just mean that if people choose to moan about everythingto do with the current regime then I think it would come across better if they post an actual realistic alternative?

It's your opinion that this season has been a total mess but I'll reserve judgement on it until May.

Cheers for the sensible response though and totally take understand the priority in stopping 10 in a row

25 Jan 2017 15:32:15
gdog 10 are you having a laugh. we are miles better than we were 2 years ago. remember long ball ally mccoist!

25 Jan 2017 13:24:40
well said the gas!

(old guy sat nxt to me at ibrox for over 25yrs used to call huistra the gas metre. peter)

far too much negativity on here - we are making progress but fan expectations need managed as for some if we ain't beating everyone 3/ 4 nil every wk they moan

we'll get there may just take a bit longer than some are prepared to accept

25 Jan 2017 14:07:47
Spot on peterhuistra! Some of them on here just don't think through and see the full package. My message as always to them is, think what's happening with our full club and not just get warburton out because of some signings not working out thus far, or out injured!

25 Jan 2017 14:09:14
a lot of us rangers fans no we are not going to spend 4 million on a player but the odd 1 0r 2 million pound players who we can then sell on for a profit instead of Free agents who we are not going to sell on for any profit as they will leave for free as there not good enough.

and as king promised funding surley this is in his reach is Warburton the man to spend such money I doubt he is looking at his signings so far People say he has not had funds but looking at prices paid so far 500k for rossiter 10k a week doodoo 250k 6k week o'halloran 500k 5k week garner 1.8 million 12k week Barton 20k week then probaly signing on fee and then pay off to leave the club kranjcar signing on fee probaly then 8k week gilks 5 k week and sendoros sitting on 16 k week out of all these players only 1 is a first team regular poor transfer business indeed so I very much doubt Warburton is the man to spend more money we can not afford these mistakes

25 Jan 2017 14:58:05
g dog, we will finish second maybe not as close to them as we would have liked but they made few great signings which has given them a great season with only 1 draw.

we are stuck in a retail contract that makes it hard for us to but quality players and the ones we have signed haven't exactly lived up to their promises and or got injured.

if we keep going in this direction we will be better than the rest of the spl teams and that's all you need to do to be in with a shout for the league!

25 Jan 2017 16:54:54
its just going to takee time but we are getting things done off the field we have had some bad luck with some signings barton/ krankar/ rossitter we have also had some woeful ones this season we are also missing the goal contribuitions from waghorn;tavenier making it a struggle lately the manager hhas varied his tactics but we can only wait and see how the rest of the season pans out

25 Jan 2017 20:03:24
James Stirling

I agree mate 100%. Beat everyone else and in theory the league could be won withour even beating Celtic. Things are better, but so much has not moved forward also. Next season is massive, for us all. The board, the management and us the fans. Next season we need to up a gear or two or there will be many like me getting fed up with it all.

26 Jan 2017 13:01:20
It's not been bad luck tho you sign players that are always injured or trouble good chance it will happen again. His transfer policy is a disaster

25 Jan 2017 12:01:18
IT was great to se young Billy Gilmore training with the first team, along with other youngsters I may add, I really do hope we can keep this young boy, he really does look like some prospect, but it might be hard to keep him, as some big English clubs have already made contact with him and his parents.

25 Jan 2017 12:17:57
Yeah I agree mate, looks like some real exciting talent in that group of youngsters. even if we got 3 1st team players it would make a big difference, we all want to see some of our own on the pitch on a Saturday

25 Jan 2017 18:03:14
This is a long enough thread but I had to add to it. How can anyone possibly claim we haven't moved much further forward than than drawing with Peterhead? I remember how tough that 3 years were to watch under Ally then McDowell (I'm not even blaming them things changed when the board changed) . We are miles away from those days. 2nd in the prem is a world away. If we secure 2nd this season I'll be happy. If we take the Scottish cup I'll pee my pants!

25 Jan 2017 11:18:52
Barry McKay out and Nicholson and Cadden in? What's the thoughts and likelihood of this happening? I think 6 days is too tight to make it happen but it's inevitable we will lose McKay in the summer.

25 Jan 2017 11:47:25
Better idea, keep Mckay and sign Nicholson on a pre contract. Then start playing Mckay through the middle and let Nicholson and O'hal wreak havoc done the wings. Mckay looks like he'd suit going through the middle rather than down the left.

25 Jan 2017 12:31:10
He most likely will sign a new contract. This would make it even more likely that he will be sold for big money in the summer allowing for affordable replacements such as Nicholson and Cadden to come in. I think the slightly bigger fees will be spent on tightening up the defence and maybe on a more prolific goal scoarer. The wages which will be offered to McKay from elsewhere will make keeping him long term wildly unrealistic.

25 Jan 2017 13:02:57
I agree that he will most likely sign a contract extension in the coming months.

Hopefully he continues to develop and will be sold in 2+ years for >>>>>£6m which can be reinvested to improve the team at that stage

25 Jan 2017 13:25:35
Mckay is a winger not a number 10, we have toral and windass for that.

25 Jan 2017 13:50:42
Cee, he might be a winger for now but I'm telling you, Mckay suits the number 10 role better.

25 Jan 2017 15:02:40
McKay would be perfect In that little iniesta role as a playmaker and would definitely chip in with goals.

25 Jan 2017 15:19:20
he has everything, first touch is brilliant passes are great and can skin most defenders i'd love to see him in that role as well but only if the boy is happy to change his role in the team if not happy then leave him where he is.

got fed up telling everyone the boy will come good at the beginning of the season but now all you nae sayers have to keep your mouth shut as everyone can see the boy is a mega gifted talent that will go a long way in the game

25 Jan 2017 15:52:28
McKay is an average winger in the big picture, but his game has all the makings of a very, very good No.10. He can lift his head, make a pass, drive forward. Anybody who signs him will develop him in that role.

I'm sure, and we should be doing it now. In a 4-3-1-2 formation he would be a revelation, but we'll never see that because the manager prefers to fit square pegs into round holes to suit his failing system rather than play to the players' strengths.
