Never get tired of reading these words of Bill Strut. Just seen video of the Founders Trail referred to at AGM.

"I have been lucky - lucky in those who were around me from the boardroom to the dressing-room. In time of stress, their unstinted support, unbroken devotion to our club and calmness in adversity eased the task of making Rangers FC the premier club in this country. "

"To be a Ranger is to sense the sacred trust of upholding all that such a name means in this shrine of football. They must be true in their conception of what the Ibrox tradition seeks from them. No true Ranger has ever failed in the tradition set him. "

"Our very success, gained you will agree by skill, will draw more people than ever to see it. And that will benefit many more clubs than Rangers. Let the others come after us. We welcome the chase. It is healthy for us. We will never hide from it. Never fear, inevitably we shall have our years of failure, and when they arrive, we must reveal tolerance and sanity. No matter the days of anxiety that come our way, we shall emerge stronger because of the trials to be overcome. That has been the philosophy of the Rangers since the days of the gallant pioneers.

Bill Struth, keyboard playing up, apologies.

25 Nov 2016 22:58:58
Magical Fd, put these words up in the dressing room. Thanks for posting.

25 Nov 2016 19:52:09
I don't think there is any doubt he will bring in between 2 and 4 players in january. with barton (big mistake) and possibly waghorn away he will have the cash to bring in. Abeit it may be loan players. We badly need a no nonsense central defender. a powerful striker who can finish and a goal scoring mid fielder.

26 Nov 2016 05:29:42
so what your saying is we need diego costa, mesut ozil and thiago silva, got it.

25 Nov 2016 17:58:32
I Guess you guys let King of AGAIN with his personal investment statement? Not that it has got anything to do with me but come on how long are you going to except it? Did he not say funds will be available at start of the season for new players at the new year window to?

25 Nov 2016 21:55:14
Not the new year window yet so kinda moot point, can't exactly sign players the now can we?

26 Nov 2016 08:13:20
You are right but by the sounds of it its department on whether an other share issue gets past not from HIS PERSONAL INVESTMENT.

26 Nov 2016 17:57:00
And as u can probably tell by most of my posts on here Tony I hope if Warburtons still the boss he gets hee haw he's wasted enough this year. We need a new manager in who can build the spine of team first and make us hard to beat. Warburtons our runny Delia ( minus the personality) 😄.

26 nov 2016 19:39:28
tony2bhoy, you're just fuelling what we as bears all think of your lot. you're continual obsession with our football club is as much laughable as it is staggering! it is all about "the rangers " for you guys! god even at your own agm last week,75% of your agm was spent talking about glasgow rangers, says it all really!

25 Nov 2016 16:37:06
going by the reports at agm i would assume it would be very unlikley that we will invest in the squad come jan unless players are moved on.

25 Nov 2016 16:58:23
Yeah I got that impression too.
Possibly looking at re-investing Waghorn cash if he goes.
Maybe a couple of pre-contracts too?

25 Nov 2016 17:22:18
If you look at Dave King's interview on the club website which I presume he gave after the AGM he says MW will have funds made available to use in January but then again it is Dave King talking so make of it what you will.

25 Nov 2016 18:42:28
We will be investing in player additions in January. That was always planned and continues to be the case.

25 Nov 2016 15:41:29
So thought on rumoured Red Bull investment?

Personally I'm all for it even if it meant stadium and name change to RB Rangers FC and Red Bull Arena.

Scottish football is completely bereft of investment and as things stand we're just going down the route of more debt. red Bull could help push the brand worldwide. Obviously a name change isn't ideal but Charles Green changed the name to The Rangers. We'll still call the club and stadium what we want anyway.

Winning the Champs League and Domestic trophies is the priority so I'll take what we can get.

25 Nov 2016 15:59:16
Was taking your post seriously right up until the "winning the Champs League" bit.

25 Nov 2016 17:49:31
Winning the champions league hahahaha! Just when u thought you'd heard it all! I can't actually believe there's some on here that think red bull are going to pump money into a club where nobody knows what's happening from one minute to the next with no possible chance of making any money from it! Really is staggering the stuff some people will believe! Change the stadium name change the team name push the brand worldwide Haha brilliant!

25 Nov 2016 19:59:39
This rosscog is on summit. I want it take me to you're dealer. or maybe it's a wee boy playing FIFA 17 with the financial take over and he bought big players and playing it on beginner that's why he is saying winning the champions league haha!

Bring in red bull get the money and compete for domestic and in Europe group stage. Pump money into our youth and bring in stars from the you academy. That's our goal.

Thoughts?

26 Nov 2016 00:52:53
While I think the CL point is certainly a wee bit too far, you only have to look at Germany with RB Leipzig now 6 points clear. Do I think they'll pump £500 million into us like a Man City saviour, no I don't, but do they want a work in progress, that needs investment, in a worldwide recognised brand within a captive market - that's always a possibility.

Any investment at this stage is worth considering and I think their input would be substantial, and enough to get us quickly challenging Celtic and into Europe (although not winning the CL next year) .

26 Nov 2016 07:49:01
agree ross you are obviously a true blue who wishes for the best good on you mate shame there aren't more of us on here . champions league winners laughable? at the moment yes but with investment we could in years to come wasnt so long a go we nearly did remember marseille so perhaps not so laughable fellow true blues .

26 Nov 2016 08:02:41
That was when we could compete with big clubs for wages. i'm afraid that European top leagues are too far away to ever be caught as long as we are in the SPFL. Our league will never be high enough quality or generate enough interest to reach that level.

Messi on 500k per week as the prime example come a long way from 50k back in the 90s lol.

26 Nov 2016 18:00:32
Tbf the arse is going to fall out the market soon similar to what happened in Italy, however anybody who thinks we, or celtic for that matter will ever get near a European final again is on drugs.

25 Nov 2016 09:19:15
Canny help yourself Islandsick?
All about the Rangers🇬🇧# Obsessed 🙃.

25 Nov 2016 09:07:50
When Dave King announces his £20 million war chest is finally available, maybe you could put in a cheeky cut price bid for dembele?

I'm not saying we would accept but live in hope bears.

25 Nov 2016 09:21:40
nah prefer strikers who don't dive thanks.

25 Nov 2016 09:55:47
so what do you call garner?

25 Nov 2016 10:28:10
I'm honestly trying to figure out if you are one of the deluded that think Dembele is a £20million player or if you are just on the wind up.

25 Nov 2016 10:58:45
Defo delusional onlyshow! Couple of months of scoring in our league and he's world class lol heard 50 million mentioned with a straight face the other day :-) )

25 Nov 2016 15:03:43
Must be nearer the 150m mark going by today's market prices, surely?

25 Nov 2016 15:16:45
Tbf he's done well looks a decent player but harsh reality is he will end up down south playing mid table somewhere struggling to hit a dozen goals a season.

25 Nov 2016 16:03:57
Remember when Hooper was going to be a smash down south and burst into the England team because he scored a few up here! Haha.

Kris Boyd was lethal up here, so does that mean he was worth £20m?!

25 Nov 2016 16:52:05
All the Celtic players are worth a minimum of £10m, anyone who thinks otherwise is obviously deluded. Truly world class, each and every one.

25 Nov 2016 17:52:45
My my it must make yous sick that we got big dembele for a fraction of the fee yous payed for garner and now he's valued at more than your whole clubs worth! Good times indeed! Lol!

25 Nov 2016 18:13:32
Remember bitton was worth 10 mill izagurie was same man utd were reported as going to bid 12 mill for him in his first season according to our press.

25 Nov 2016 19:06:11
John guidetti scored more goals by this point lol.

25 Nov 2016 21:25:18
They will probably be hoping for the obligatory £10million that seems to have been the norm with their transfers to English clubs in recent years. Don't think he's worth it mind you but can't see them turning down half decent money seeing there OUT OF EUROPE now!

26 Nov 2016 20:36:26
oh dear wiss is just off the pish because his team got off with a 2-0 defeat instead of the 5-0 score it should have been, if your prize asset is that good why didn't he bale you out, he couldn't even do it against the killie players who outclassed him.

25 Nov 2016 08:26:26
Red Bull is probably a no go, as we will not be allowed to sing " we are the bully boys! "

25 Nov 2016 10:31:35
HELLO, HELLO! We are the bully boys! we are up to our knees in redbull sugar free, We need caffeine or we'll die! FOR WE ARE THE REDBULL DRINKING BOYS.

Redbull need to buy us now.

25 Nov 2016 06:18:17
good post zikos, i still think that system would work but would like the flexibility to change when required. tav would need to work on crossing though. keirnan is maybe not the best but he does play better beside hill, maybe hill talks him through game just like gilks would. who would be 3rd center back? NOT A PENNY MORE!

25 Nov 2016 07:44:27
yes zikos, why not? There is a vulnerability about our defending, that needs sorting.
I would bring in Wilson and push Tavernier and Wilson forward. The 3 central midfielders would then be able to adapt to the flow of the game, with the front 2 given enough flexibility to be able to change to a 3-4-3, when things are going for us.
Goalkeeper --- Gilks for me.

25 Nov 2016 08:53:29
What Vulnerability has there been in recent games may I ask? we have only conceded 3 since the start of October.

25 Nov 2016 00:26:57
Replying to bgate w, I also think Wallace and Tavernier could thrive in this type of system. In regard to 3 CB's marking one striker. I wouldn't imagine that it would be a rigid 3, For example the centre of the 3 could mark the one up and the others picking up the runners or two CB's doubling up on one striker and the other acting like a sweeper (tugay against monaco) .

I also get the fact that people are saying our attack is too slow, well it isn't helped given the fact we rely on our full backs providing the width. If we played them more advanced they would have at least a 25 yard head start on their current positioning.

And another way to speed the attack play is to take less touches. Its so frustrating at times to watch, players are taking far too many touches on the break and by the time they get anywhere near the opposition box they have 10 men setting up camp. I'm no tactician but surely this is obvious to see. Probably more obvious that McCoist's every man in our own box for a defending corner.

I like MW, I hope he gets things right and hopefully he gets the chance to add more quality to the side and hopefully he won't be so stubborn to change his system every once in a while.

25 Nov 2016 04:55:35
Given that Hill is the only inform centre back at the club at present and Kiernan is not rated by most of our support where would Warburton find a couple of quality centre backs for these positions. They don't exist in Scotland!

25 Nov 2016 11:10:38
TOMUSA

Then he looks outwith Scotland then.
