Hamilton are without 1st choice keeper and three of their midfielders, if we don't get a result on Friday there are no excuses.

25 Sep 2017 21:46:26
Partick were without there 1st choice keeper and abt 4 outfield players and there top goalscorer left on the bench and it took us til extra time to beat them

26 Sep 2017 12:48:38
Sorry I was all for backing Pedro the money spent I thought we would be doing a lot better than we are people's confidence in him are waining I don't think he's up to job hope he proves us all wrong but I doubt it also people are entitled to their opinion if they don't think he's up to it not told to shut up and stop moaning

26 Sep 2017 16:01:41
Hey guys, let's all get a grip here and get behind the team and manager, we should be supporting our team to the hilt, encouraging them and letting them hear our voices in every game, I'm older and remember a certain Alex Ferguson going to manage Man Unt, that first season 1987 they finished 11th in the league, managed the 4th round of FA cup and shocking in league cup, yes the fans wanted him out, the rest is history, it takes time to progress, it takes time for players to adjust as a unit, a squad of players all require to know how every member of that squad play to their individual strength and within a team, this can take the manager more than a season to achieve, and he requires the backing of the chairman, board, and most of all the fans, the true supporters of our team, I still back PC and I'm behind him all the way because I feel he will get there, we must show encouragement though. shoot me down if you must however think about this how many of you have tried to master a new job a new team at work a new lifestyle, it is hard, but time brings rewards. I just think we are lucky to still have our beloved Rangers so let's be United behind them.

26 Sep 2017 17:23:53
Sorry but he isn't the man for the job and the board made a big mistake appointing him. His record is awful and the loss to Progres was the worst in the clubs history. There is no passion in the team, no pace in the team and no real creativity. He has reduced us to the level of Hearts and Hibs and under him we will be battling for 3rd/ 4th or 5th spot.

26 Sep 2017 18:05:33
nice post buzultra can't agree more! yes pedro may not be up to it but whoever takes over will have the same problem trying to manage and build new team. we are not psg or man city we don't have the resources yet but we will be back of that i am sure! as sure as i was when the poop hit the fan that we would be back and hey were on the road a long road but there all the same. we have some excellent staff on board now shudder to think of where we were 2/ 3 years ago but we are getting stronger from the roots uo i really believe that. its hard at times but and always will be

28 Sep 2017 01:01:05
Pedro ain't the man to close the gap on Celtic, we need a clever manager who can get the most out of average players, and I'm afraid that's a quality Pedro ain't got.

27 Sep 2017 23:31:30
I see the old fergie analogy getting brokered above! Trust me, pedro is not going to do a fergie! Pmsl

25 Sep 2017 20:35:49
I am gobsmacked that the negative brigade are so vociferous in their criticism after us losing to a financially superior manky mob. We are a long way from ready to challenge, but I believe much closer than before and heading in the right direction. Top league scorer, super debut from McRorie, held our own in first half, this is progress. What we need to do now is support, support, support. Only 7 games in and all to play for. C'mon the Gers!

25 Sep 2017 21:46:44
Held our own in the first half? Is that the limit of your expectations? St Johnstone got a well deserved point at Celtic park so they must be ready for the champions league then. As for progress how does 5th place in the league, only 1 win in 4 at home in the league and losing to Progres represent progress?

25 Sep 2017 22:30:08
Just can’t see us doing anything under Pedro I hope I’m wrong but I doubt it. they pushed the boat out with getting a top drawer manger. we must do the same

25 Sep 2017 23:12:24
We are 5th, out of europe by a pub team and we have spent 8mil to achieve this, in what way is this progress?

26 Sep 2017 00:08:50
Still surprises me the amount of people claiming we are making progress under PC, where exactly is the progress?!
Another disappointing season lies ahead let's not kid ourselves here.

26 Sep 2017 07:08:38
Incase your new mate and have not been reading the posts its not negativity after celtic, its normality from the start of the season. This guy has made us worse than what warburton had us. I honestly think mccoist would do abetter job and no i'm not saying I want that far from it but if out board can't see what a total cock up they have made then we are doomed. All the time in the world won't help this guy now he has blown is good n proper and causing a scene with brown at half time proves it. He is angry at himself and his players but vents it at everyone else around him when he should be in his players faces demanding better and not protecting them from every wrong decision. These are men and rangers men at that. No one likes us we don't care. Well they better get familiar with that cause its not a new saying its always been that way.

26 Sep 2017 12:36:24
I think Pedro is at fault for some strange tactical calls and also playing guys out. of position surely we have someone better than Windass on the left but he seems reluctant to give anyone else a go there, I also think the buck lies fairly and squarely with the players c'mon they are supposed to be professionals if they think they are not fit enough then they should do extra work after all they have all been at other clubs, no one seems to want to play for the jersey c'mon its rangers you are playing for its a privilege denied to many show some pride and heart get stuck in.

26 Sep 2017 14:32:26
larky these players don't care about rangers maybe the scottish boys do but were just another team to them. Gone are the days when players heard rangers are in for them and they would jump at the chance and the fact of that is we have no money and we don't win anything. Wr are keek. Its our miney there wasting.

27 Sep 2017 22:48:03
It’s not after Saturday though is it? previous results have been poor too? we scraped a draw last week at thistle then had to go to extra time with them in the cup! pedros results since he arrived have been very poor and in my opinion the gamble the board took on him is not working 1 bit

28 Sep 2017 00:40:09
This time last season after 7 games we had 9 points on the board and the Barton fiasco was at its height. Thankfully we have progressed from that, have achieved more points this season from same number of games, and starting Friday will do on a winning run. Long way to go but definitely improved.

25 Sep 2017 19:32:16
I personally think we should start with herrera and morelos up top we have candelias that can provide from the right with they two up top playing as partners i think i could be a good move
need sort left wing postion tho give nemane or another youngster a chance in there windass not done enough since came back into the team

25 Sep 2017 21:48:46
Craig8688

Windass is rank rotten who seems to think that the game only lasts for 25 mins. Agree about the young guy from Man City thought he did well when he came on and looked to take people on. Better giving him a start instead of the hopeless Windass

25 Sep 2017 23:06:00
Nemane or Holt Windass has had his chance only good for about 20 minutes on the left.

26 Sep 2017 10:46:48
I personally think we should start with a new manager.

26 Sep 2017 11:11:04
Get mcinnes, bring mclean and shinnie with him.

26 Sep 2017 14:36:51
Get someone that will steady the sinking ship, I would love to be a fly on the wall in the board room. Do they think this is acceptable? Are they happy with PC? Mcleish back in by January, give him £5 million and take it from there.

28 Sep 2017 01:37:59
@fod - Big Eck? Really? Now I know you are at the wind up! What has he done since taking Birmingham to a cup final?

27 Sep 2017 23:11:56
Mcleish has had 2 jobs in the last four years. One of them was four months before being sacked from a club in Egypt!

AND you want to give him 5 million

2003 SIGNED - Ostenstad, Emerson Capucho, Vanoli, Berg, Namouchi
2004 SIGNED - Vignal, Djordjic, Mladenovic, Santala (Though admittedly he did have a better window)
2005 SIGNED - Jeffers, Nieto, Bernard, Maniero, N'Guessan, Ashikodi (He got about 50% of his signings right this window)

Mcleish was in charge when we suffered 7 consecutive loses to Celtic

First season in charge he was 17 points behind Celtic - with a team he inherited from Advocatt

Sure, he sounds like the answer. Or could it be that he was given 3 years in the job to build and shape his own team. SO we only remember the good things

Some people on here would have had Mcleish sacked first season - now they want him back

27 Sep 2017 23:36:07
Don't understand the mcleish shout at all

28 Sep 2017 08:25:04
Couldn't agree more Fod

25 Sep 2017 17:45:02
I'm not a Pedro fan, but his main job on Saturday was to avoid another drubbing. That he did.

I can't see him with us long term, but to change yet again, its going to cost a fortune what with him and some of his useless buys, so we have to take it on the chin for now and just keep supporting the club for what its worth, perhaps there's a corner we are about to turn, who knows.

25 Sep 2017 18:56:13
For me the performance wasn't good enough on Saturday however I wouldn't say it was time to sack Pedro. His future will be decided in the next 6-10 weeks after Cup Semi and matches against St Johnstone, Aberdeen twice etc.

What I would say is that we need a change at the back, McCrorie looked assured on Saturday and I would give him and Alnwick a run but whoever is in there needs protection from their fullbacks.

Pedro must address the shortfalls of this team he has built or the board will have to act as he has been backed!

25 Sep 2017 20:40:41
Gone are the days of a good old fashioned hard as nails rangers manager or player. Walter smith and alex Ferguson were the last of a dying breed of manager. Only one I could think that would come close is tommy wright he looks a tough manager hair dryer treatment from him would sink in.

26 Sep 2017 12:39:47
Windass should be gone laughing and joking with the Celtic players after getting beaten in an old firm game no room for that kind of player at Ibrox.

26 Sep 2017 14:26:43
Maybe windlass should be gone because he's ordinary but not for laughing and joking with them remember when I first watched rangers v Celtic in seventies a lot of the players where pals off the field and where joking on the field so don't buy it remember a game where they had arms round each other end of game doesn't as long as their giving their all on pitch

27 Sep 2017 18:23:32
Pep Guadiola could not get Rangers challenging for the league. The players and depth of squad are not there. Pedro wrong choice and that's reflected in who he bought. Rangers need to forget Celtic and try making sure that points ate won againdt Aberdeen, St Johnston, Hibs etc. Once they can do thst then Celtic sre in their sights. No point teacting to a fefeat by Celtic. They beat everyone. The fidsadtets are losses against the rest.

25 Sep 2017 17:22:54
sometime soon I would like to see this line up as our starting 11 assuming all are fit of course

Alnwick

McCrorie
Wilson
Alves
John

Tavernier
Jack
Dorrans
Barjonas

Hardie
Morelos

subs - Foderingham, Wilson. A, Beerman, Rossiter, Hemane, Candeias, Miller

tongue in cheek, couldn't do any worse.

25 Sep 2017 18:59:59
Who's playing rb? Who's playing lm? By the looks of it you have mccrorie a cb at rb and barjonas a cm at lm. 😩

25 Sep 2017 19:33:29
Wilson playing and on the bench.

25 Sep 2017 21:53:16
Copland01

Aidan Wilson by chance?

25 Sep 2017 23:58:58
we have TWO Wilsons on our books and McCrorie has been described as a player who can fill ANY defensive roll, in my list HE IS AT RIGHT BACK, all you critics go and play computer football, its all about opinions here, my opinion is that none of you have a clue how to run a business, spend spend spend = disaster, like it or not we have already been down there

26 Sep 2017 00:10:20
Glad your not the manager anyway

26 Sep 2017 10:09:14
Ritchie, you made an arse of the team and now you are blaming and venting at everyone else. Are you pedro in disguise?

25 Sep 2017 14:05:17
we should be playing a 352 or a 3421. makes far more sense.

for me sam allerdyce would be a good choice until end of the season. frank de bour is not right for the job. looking further ahead i don't know. certainly no one from spl. must be someone from england and the board must spend a decent some. this team needs 2 new full or wing backs a good CAM and another striker.

25 Sep 2017 19:59:10
Jamie, it would be amazing if big Sam was put in charge. I still think pedro needs a bit more time. Think it will take a good few big wins against the top 6 teams to get the confidence in the squad. But if that doesn't happen and he is showing the door then big Sam would be the answere. He would need a good few quid to spend though. He would want a high wage for himself also. If we were willing to take the chance on him it would be a 99% guaranteed stopping the dreaded 10 in a effing row for them. I think that's our biggest aim now. I grew up in the 90's! Never thought for a minute this is where we would be

25 Sep 2017 12:31:45
Its funny that now everyone is waking up and deciding pedro should go. Ice been saying it since we got beat from hibs but I was slated for it. I know some of you will still claim to be behind him and hope for miracles and your probably the same tyoe of person who worries what they will spend the euromilliibs jackpot on. Delusional.

25 Sep 2017 13:12:34
It was same with warbs last year fod, beggers belief mate.

25 Sep 2017 13:27:14
So what happens when we get rid of him now Fod?, we'd be Up rubbish street again, starting from scratch which we could not afford, he has to be given time, yes it's been a shaky start and we have dropped more points than I honestly expected at this stage but it's a new team heading in the right direction, it's hard for pretty much any team to sign as many new players like we have and hit the ground running, this was and is going to be a slow process I reckon this season and next we will struggle a bit but after that we should be in a better position to really challenge them for the title, it is what it is, we just need to keep supporting our team. Follow Follow 👍🏻

25 Sep 2017 13:33:24
Well am still backing him.

25 Sep 2017 13:59:22
I'm behind the manager 100% and the new squad that is still gelling after a dozen games or so.

25 Sep 2017 14:08:29
Aye well done Fod, are you happy now we are losing to prove your point?

Pedro might not be the answer, so tell me who is? And please, for the love of god don't say Walter Smith.

25 Sep 2017 14:32:21
Im behind him, we can't start from scratch, if pedro went so would some of the team and wed be left in the exact same position come on he isn't jesus, we have to give him time and tbh i don't know another manager that would actually be good for us just now that wouldn't cost a fortune, we need time to rebuild think back to the away days at peterhead, yeah well let's give him time

25 Sep 2017 14:35:32
BearMode91

its nothing to do with being happy it's more that Fod is just expressing his opinion about the manager something we are all entitled to do. You disagree that's fine however it's a bit of a cheap dig to suggest he is happy about it

25 Sep 2017 14:38:05
Can somebody explain this progress we're supposed to be making with solid facts?

We started the league campaign at around 10/ 1 with the bookies and now we're around 40/ 1. We're fifth in the league. We are out of Europe and humiliated on that front. We have a team that can't even show any fight against our greatest rivals on our patch.

When Mark Warburton left we were second in the league and I don't detect a team making progress even after spending £8 million or so in the summer.

25 Sep 2017 15:44:46
Naz

100% spot on mate and it will be interesting if anyone can come on here with tangible evidence of improvement.

25 Sep 2017 16:25:48
Hypothetically if we appointed mcinnes or Wright instead of pedro and still found ourselves in this position what would we be saying? No doubt we would have accused the board of going for a cheap option bla bla bla. Can we stop shouting for sir Walter, we need stability at our club and not end up like Celtic if the late 80's early 90's. Celtic r miles in front n swapping managers every 6-12 months isn't going to claw that back.

25 Sep 2017 17:14:51
Would like to see Murty involved with the first team.

25 Sep 2017 17:20:00
Aberdeen are only 2 pts with McInnes in charge and he is working on a very limited budget.

25 Sep 2017 19:01:28
Get mcinnes in👍

26 Sep 2017 00:12:26
People saying we can't start from scratch and sack Pedro, at which point do you change your mind? How much can we take before we decide it's not good enough and look elsewhere?

25 Sep 2017 12:31:14
Just seen highlights of the game on BBC online and there was no footage of the elbow incident! I really get the feeling that the media don't cover these flashpoint fairly, if it was the other way well you can just imagine the headlines!

25 Sep 2017 12:51:57
there was no elbow incident

25 Sep 2017 13:55:30
How are we heading in the right direction? We are struggling in 5th.

25 Sep 2017 14:38:09
Coldo

We aren't heading in any direction tbh. 5th place and knocked out of Europe by a team that wasn't top 3 in Luxembourg. It's sad how far we have fallen that some fans find this acceptable and think the manager is the righ man to take us forward. I don't know how bad it has to get before they realise he isn't good enough

25 Sep 2017 20:11:27
There's pictures of elbow incident on DR online. There is a bit of contact but from what I can see of the stills it's a bit soft if u ask me. Hate brown but looks like his arm is up for balance and to block not to harm anyone but again it's only stills of the incident.

25 Sep 2017 18:35:51
Does the elbow incident matter? we were pish got beat fair and square! Plain and simple wee are not good enough not under Pedro the CLOWN anyway

25 Sep 2017 08:18:01
I still back Pedro, is it his fault we went tits up and got relegated, is it his fault that even if they get pumped celtic still make the champions league and get its money, is it his fault that we had charlatans running and bleeding the club, is it his fault we have had no retail funds in place to help out, his fault we had no tv money when we went down. Answers to all of the above NO! That is 100% the fault of sir david Murray. Now people can say we have spent x amount this year but celtic have spent much more over the years creating depth in their squad that we are finding hard at this stage in dealing with, but this is a new squad heading in the right direction and Pedro has done more for youth than any manager in my memory so give the guy a break.

25 Sep 2017 08:32:14
Gary75

Using that argument then u would still have had McCoist in charge. Your point is ridiculous as our problems are more than just Celtic. I suppose you blame David Murray for the European defeat to Progres or for the fact we don't even try and put tackles in against them and let them beat us easily not once but 3 times. Is it David Murray's fault that Pena can't get fit or Windass only seems to be able to play for 25 mins?

25 Sep 2017 09:27:24
Im willing to give Pedro more time BUT the cold hard truth is nothing to do with the money he's spent its just that BR is a far superior manager than him simple as that. their starting 11 that brushed us aside so easily on Sat was all Ronny Ds players apart from Sinclair.

25 Sep 2017 09:30:45
He bought sheite players with £10 million he doesn't know where to play them all so he just chucks them in anywhere. he's done and he was done for me after the hibs game. I don't care for him he's an idiot.

25 Sep 2017 09:40:11
Not enough Rangers men in the squad but in saying that Dorrans was very poor on the weekend, I have said on here repeatedly we had to build from defence our first choice fullbacks are bad enough but we are on the 4th choice left back now just when we need a good run of results, young mccrorie has been a revelation so much so that when Alves is fit Cardoso should be dropped have we any fit fullbacks in the development squad as Hodson is hopeless really, the board has invested in Pedro so he will be here to the end of the season regardless I do question his tactics and team choice at times, lastly in order to finish second this year we might have to buy moult walker and McClean in January instead of getting them for free at the end of the season.

25 Sep 2017 09:42:16
Pedro must go!
Clueless!
Defense still crap!
Need a British manager!
Not won 3 games in a row!
The board picked him they're responsible!

25 Sep 2017 10:37:30
Gary, we are struggling in 5th how the feck are we heading in the right direction? He has spent 8mil this summer, stop making silly excuses and open your eyes.

25 Sep 2017 11:01:49
Geomac everything you have stated is true I dint get why people are disagreeing with you mate but you get that on here alot, some can't take the truth. Mcleish will be in by xmad don't worry.

25 Sep 2017 11:26:04
We should give Pedro until Christmas and if we are languishing in 3rd or worse and are double points behind celtic then he should go. God knows who should replace him! I thought Tavernier was one of our better players on Saturday and I'd like to see him played further forward. We have Hodson, John, Beerman and Wallace (when fit) as full backs. McCrorie was very good as well. We must go on a run and win five or six on the trot.

25 Sep 2017 12:15:54
we need a british manager? really? who? let's look at the english premier league ok? man u em nope many city erm nope liverpool? newcastle? chelsea? . british manager? who?

25 Sep 2017 12:38:02
Im also still backing pedro. I see people comparing his signings to advocats and walters. But peds had nowhere near as much as them 2 to spend!

25 Sep 2017 21:59:44
Fod, Mr Caixinha may indeed prove not to be the manager we need. I say may, as I really hope he does. The players he has brought in, May or may not make it. Just like what happens with any other manager. It's a gamble. Usually the more money you spend the more chance you have of getting it correct. However I will tell you something, he is certainly not an idiot! He is the manager of Rangers and he deserves a little bit more respect from you sir.

25 Sep 2017 18:21:48
Get McLeish in?

In the last 4 years he has managed in Belgium for a year and Egypt for 4 months before being sacked. If he is such a good manager, why has NO OTHER CLUB made a move for him?

McInnes has done nothing against Celtic in the years we have not been in the top flight. Aberdeen are playing some brutal football just now and are heavily reliant on deals that he has done with Celtic. Remember they just got pumped by Motherwell and also drew 0-0 with Hearts.

Pedro needs a full season in charge - you can't just go changing manager after 7 league games! Should Klopp be sacked? Koeman? Spending more and arguably worse performances.

Insanity from some people on here.

25 Sep 2017 06:37:37
Since the game I have read from numerous different writers and player from there mob saying fitness played a big part. They commented that they knew come the second half we would fade and there fitness would shine. This proved the case. How can a team that began pre season before anyone else be less fit than another. I can live with them having better players in areas as the money coming in far exceeds us and allows them to spend on quality rather than quantity, however we are as another poster stated, not a bad team just not as good yet as them but in time and a few quality and correct signings we may creep up.

25 Sep 2017 09:16:44
I made this point in a post yesterday Blue Nose. and i'm staggered that no ex pros have mentioned it. there's NOT an issue with fitness as all full time pros will be of a similar level of fitness. the problem is that Selik are a better team and let the ball do the wrk there for we're effectivly doing doggies for 90mins. flip that to there game last wk against PSG and it looked as if Selik wernt fit but its because they were chasing shadows for 90mins like we had to on Sat

25 Sep 2017 03:51:43
Next 5 games are massive. If we don't take full 15 points (PC proving he can win consecutive games with the teams around us involved) . he'll be gone! Dropping points against St. J, Aberdeen or Hearts could make it difficult to get anywhere near second place. Hoping PC can do it! But if he doesn't we could be in a scrap for 3rd place after spending 8 million.

If not,
I would be happy to forget about spending money on the playing squad for now. Would much prefer to see the board try and match Celtic in a position we million miles off. the dugout!

Any thoughts, what managers do you think could take it to BR?

25 Sep 2017 07:44:05
Before i say anything about who imo, could be the next rangers manager, after pedro caixinha, i must state that i'm still behind pedro, and he has to be given more time! Far too early to jump the gun! He deserves the full season, unless we fall miles behind for 2nd place! Right onto if anything did happen to pedro, who could replace him! Don't care what a lot say regarding this, but i've always rated billy davies, very highly, so he'd be in the frame imo! Also harry redknapp, sam allardyce, gio van bronckhurst, chris coleman, frank de boer! To a lesser extent, derek mcinnes and tommy wright and st. mirren's young highly regarded manager/ coach, jack ross! Thoughts fellow bears on my choices and of course your choices? Should be very interesting! ED, if you don't mind mate, who would your choices be and what do you think, regarding what will or should happen to pedro?

25 Sep 2017 08:37:00
Supercooper

Did you copy and paste your reply from this time last year? But instead of Pedro you had Warburton. This guy isn't an improvement on him and Warburton was sacked while the club were in a better position in the league. Pedro will not take the club forward and needs to go. We are already 6 points behind Aberdeen and more likely to fall even further behind. I actually fear that we won't even get a spot in Europe under him

25 Sep 2017 10:24:35
Supercooper

Like the idea of Rednapp . think he will be more than comfortable with beating the rest of the league week in week out (which PC hasn't proved yet) and when it come to BR he'll have the experience to ask more questions. Not a bad shout there.

25 Sep 2017 10:43:27
Its the same crap over and over again. Billy davies hasn't worked of years cause he's a pleb. You said the same last year supercoop and we all know how that worked out. We might no even qualify for europe at this rate.

25 Sep 2017 11:12:05
Rednapp would have been a good shout years ago bit he is old and rubbish now bit still better than pedro. Maybe there is no one who can help is now ever think of that. No investment no way of getting ahead

25 Sep 2017 12:53:13
agree fod! it may be beyond a manager? investment may be needed in the short term if not we have to carry on and build from the very botton up it will take a long time some sports writers here in ireland have said it could take 10years if we cannot find investment

If we were to get rid of Pedro I would go for dirk Schuster who took darmstadt from div3 to the bundesliga in 3 seasons then kept them there the first year all on a limited budget then was sacked because they finished low in the table but weren't relegated.
