Anybody else think it was a mistake letting go of Kane hemmings when we did. He always done well when sent out on loan and ally let him go, I thought it was a mistake when it happened and I think it was an even bigger mistake now.

27 Jan 2016 08:05:18
Hell yeah, but you can't blame McCoist for that one. He basically spent the full season we were in div3 injured.

27 Jan 2016 09:54:56
The lad could have been playing like Messi and McCoist wouldn't have played him, he wasn't one of his auld pals.

27 Jan 2016 13:31:44
He didn't play though, he was injured and never fit.

27 Jan 2016 07:07:53
Boy got another 2 goals last night.

27 Jan 2016 16:02:09
The man has proved over the last couple of years since we let him go that he could have more than done a job for us. And fair play, I'm pleased for the guy.

And yes he was injured a fair bit in div 3. But just look who kept him out of the team. Kevin Kyle, Sandaza and Andy Little. It was a physio's dream team.

The lad never got a chance at the expense of overpaid duds. This sadly was a theme under Super Ally.

26 Jan 2016 23:23:11
About my earlier post Leacock macloed, he is a youth team target so I hope the magic 🎩 Can get in o'halloran. I know opinion is split about him but in my opinion he is better than who we have in those areas of the park just now and is definitely a player we could turn a big profit on after a couple of seasons in the premiership.

27 Jan 2016 08:05:43
Don't think he's as good as McKay.

27 Jan 2016 08:49:53
Like yourself cee I would also slightly rate barrie mckay better than michael o'halloran but if we do eventually sign o'halloran it won't be mckay's position he'll take it will probably be kenny miller's position he'll take which would mean an exciting front 3 of o'halloran, waghorn and mckay.

27 Jan 2016 13:32:59
Would rather have Johnny Hayes.

26 Jan 2016 23:10:10
West Ham's Josh Cullen to sign on a temporary deal?

26 Jan 2016 22:26:06
Mw on bbc sport saying he still hopes to make 1 or 2 signing b4 deadline day. He also says they sometimes take longer so i for one will be cutting him some slack this week. Sorry fellow bears for my negative posts this week.

26 Jan 2016 23:37:28
MW doesn't do the signing of new players. It is Stewart Robertson and Andrew Dickson who do all the negotiations with other clubs. MW only identifies who he wants and these guys try to get them (not very successfully though) .

26 Jan 2016 21:22:23
D King said when Celtic signed S Allan, not to worry that, 4 or 5 Allan`s would be signed next window.

getting excited now must be one coming in every day until Sunday.

26 Jan 2016 19:43:11
We all know Ian durrant is a gers through and through, I really don't think he should be in charge of our development squad.

Excited about the prospect of Liam burt and jamie barjonas who are both only 16 respectively.

26 Jan 2016 21:09:08
He's not Craig mulholland is, durrants only the head coach of the under 20s.

26 Jan 2016 18:59:29
Does anyone else think Forrester was looking a bit off the pace last night? Obviously not played for a while!?

26 Jan 2016 19:18:21
Hard to judge from last night needs more time, I think a lot of the team where off the pace last night just one of those nights. Get the 3 points and up the road.

26 Jan 2016 19:34:38
I though he look a bit of a wide boy (no pun intended) , a bit "look at me, I'm better than all the rest" rather than I'm going to prove my worth to the team.

26 Jan 2016 21:05:54
Sometimes you just get the feel for a player - well that ain't happening for me with Forester - I know it's only his 2nd appearance but he should be on the ball ( It's pun city here) and ready to rock - he missed a really good chance at the end as well - he needs to step up a, gear for me and get more involved - off the ball work is just as important as being on it - I'd only rate him 6 or 6.5 max out of 10 - room for improvement as they say - remember we are all entitled to our opinion -.

26 Jan 2016 21:31:32
I agree with a few of the posts come on chewing the chewing gum as if he was Christiano Ronaldo early doors but doesn't look any better than we've got but I really hope I'm wrong and prep aired to give him a chance!

26 Jan 2016 21:43:57
Absolute scoundrel chewing gum. I've heard it all now. Poor lad isn't aloud to have chewing gum.

26 Jan 2016 22:51:04
I like him, good control, wee bit aff the pace but a good un going forward, bedding in for next season, made good use of finding space, good option, gee the guy a brek.

26 Jan 2016 23:08:22
I never seen Forrester in his first game but I thought the boy slotted in quite nicely when he came on last night. Think with a few more games under his belt he could Defo be handy in the run in, I liked McKay through the middle for that wee spell as well. It changed up our play which is something we've been lacking. Add O'halloran (if we can get that over the line) and our attacking options are looking good. Was nice to still win last night without Waggy's customery goals.

27 Jan 2016 00:25:34
Aye I think we need to give the lad Forrester a chance. After all he has only had a couple of brief outings, one of them on a tight, bumpy pitch. It's a pity he didn't score with the chance he got but to be fair the goalie did well to save. I think there's a player there. Let's see.

26 Jan 2016 13:52:40
Zelalem really dictated midfield last night, kept things ticking and along side Holt I think that we would've had a few more goal/ opportunities. Morton were struggling to get near the young lad.

MW's philosophy is to play FOOTBALL, Zelalem is exactly the kind of player we need in midfield if that's what we are going to do. He links our defence to our attack.

Some fans crying for him gone, stuck in the stone ages wanting mad ass sliding tackles and all that sha-bang. The top teams in the world don't play like this. We are trying to play attractive football. Scottish football is renowned for being a rough 'scrappy' brand. We are veering away from that. I think this is a very good idea. As eventually when we get to Europe this attractive football will hopefully allow us to make a positive name for ourselves throughout Europe.

On the other hand I also agree that we need a CDM anchor in midfield that basically doesn't move from covering our CB's. This would really benefit Holt and whoever else we hopefully sign for the SPL. next season of course.

26 Jan 2016 16:54:31
Bang on mate .1 of our failings in europe in past seasons is not keeping a hold of the ball warburton wants us to play passing football and keep hold of the ball not 2 passes then lump the ball into the box.

26 Jan 2016 17:49:14
That's all very well if the other team are playing a similar game, but Morton mixed it up and the boy was out of his comfort zone. I think it was too cauld for the wee sowel. You saw them swarming around him when he was on the ball trying to intimidate him and it worked. I thought he was getting hooked in the first half but that would have put a big dent in the boys confidence. He's ok on lush surfaces on a nice day with plenty of space, but not Greenock on a freezin Monday night.

26 Jan 2016 13:07:21
I would like to see tavernier pushed upto right midfield, as his defending is horrendous and he will get punished against better players next season. The jury still out on our two centre halves as well. Both are too slow . On the positive side I thought the way McKay took his goal last night was superb and he now seems to be chipping in with goals to add to his fine performances.

26 Jan 2016 16:28:19
Someone tell me the reason for bringing in Frank Mcparland please.

We bring in a Head Scout and we sign one player who has played under MW already. In this case MW didn't even need FMcP.

Obviously his job is to identify players who are affordable, have the right quality and are keen to sign.

The summer is when we will do most of our business of course.

There will be questions asked at the end of this window, no matter what happens this week, there is no doubt.

26 Jan 2016 16:37:08
Signed 4 players actually 2 on 6 month contracts and 2 on pre contracts.

26 Jan 2016 16:53:30
In short, to rebuild an entire scout network. Across all age ranges i am sure. And to get us some useful links with English clubs which hiring a Neil Murray type wouldn't give us.

My preference is to have a scouting network rather than none and signing ex gers like last year.

26 Jan 2016 23:12:53
Thorn 76 you practically answered your question yourself by the end of your post. He will be identifying targets for this window and the next. But it will be his long term strategy that I think we will really benefit from. Some of the young players we've brought in already are really exciting and I think that is his area.

26 Jan 2016 15:41:59
Last night was a taste of what it going to be like when we get into the Big playground again, then we'll all remember what it was like 4 seasons ago. They still don't won't us it like us that's for sure and I detest every other team and the SFA and SPL never forget these People tryed to destoy us and will continually try, lest We Forget.

26 Jan 2016 16:25:30
to true bongo, we owe then zilcho, no one likes us we don't care, yeah folk have short memories I remember Barry Ferguson getting booed by the tartan barmy . I for one will never forget that.

26 Jan 2016 14:38:56
Just a thought, why are we paying guys like frank mcpartland a wage to go out and travel all over the country looking at players if this board are not willing to cough up when players of interest have been identified? The mind boggles! i think the 5 million we payed to that fat slider ashley has emptied our bear bank! Why aren't we taking the ÂŁ500k from Rangers 1st?

26 Jan 2016 15:55:27
How do you know the board aren't giving enough cash for transfers? That is pure speculation. for all you know we don't rate the players at the same price as the other team do, and let's be honest a player is only worth what a team will pay.

26 Jan 2016 16:11:58
We lost diagouraga scott allan and now looks like we will miss out on O halloran, all because we low ball teams with offers! We are not the big budget team from the spl that had the power to bully the wee teams into selling to us! The board it seems don't have cash.

26 Jan 2016 16:28:58
Are you aware that even at Brentford, Warburton never done a “big deal? ” I may be wrong but I’m sure the most he spent at Brentford on 1 player was 1.1mil, which let’s be honest in the English Championship isn’t much. The man and his background staff don’t do big spends, they find cheap deals and hidden gems.

26 Jan 2016 17:12:31
we are not expecting to spend big just bring in players
that will allow not only to compete but expect to win trophies next season and not just the petrofac cup
we only neeed suspension and injuries and we could struggle.

26 Jan 2016 23:16:14
For all any of us know the O'halloran deal is already out the window the same as the boy that went to Leeds, simply because the club felt there is a better option that represents better value. MW said we are trying to sign 2 players, he hasn't mentioned anyone by name yet.

26 Jan 2016 14:41:33
For the game against Falkirk we have 16 outfield players who have experienced first team football this season.

Quite absurd to be honest. Not trying to criticise the club but something has to be done to change this.

Not saying we need signings to boost numbers but any fan would say this number is no where near enough.

If Holt isn't fit, this reduces us to 15 which is close to being quite ridiculous.

Think we will have a signing before the Falkirk game but the squad is really weak if we get even 1 injury.

26 Jan 2016 15:07:34
Law, halliday, Zezalem, Shiels, thompson, and holt. We might have 2 players out for the falkirk game. Still leaves us with 4 players to use. Also ball. So make that 5. I reckon we are okay for cover in midfield.

26 Jan 2016 15:36:47
Thom76
Your saying your not trying to say, or your not trying to criticise Get to the point mate
what are you trying to say. Or are you Not trying to upset people?

26 Jan 2016 15:49:00
That is the way Warburton likes to work, if he is here for the longterm, I hope so, you will have to get used to it. Keep the squad lean, keep the players keen- according to him, anyway.

26 Jan 2016 16:00:35
Bongo

What I'm trying to say mate is our squad size frightens me a little. 1 or 2 injuries (which won't be a total unlucky shock, happens to every team) to first team players could send us into a spiral. The club will be able to blame no one but themselves.

Warburton can keep saying he will bring players up from the youth set up to reinforce the team. What I would hate is when (not if) we get injuries, we bring up young players and start dropping points and they take the blame when the club should have acted in this window.

Way too early but I don't think Forrester will earn a long term deal.

So essentially we have no players signed in January and playing for us now who can impact our team next season.

26 Jan 2016 16:18:55
Not to sure why you are worried to be honest, we genuinely have cover for almost every position, yes not a direct replacement but make do cover, Ball can Cover for midfield, left back, centreback and if necessary right back, Halliday can play left wing, midfield, holding midfield and leftback, we have waghorn to play upfront or on the wing, if not waghorn upfront then miller, if not miller then Clark, if waghorn goes up front we can use forrester on the wing, Thompson can replace almost any of our midfield, and he is a cracking player for being so young. The only position that is a worry for cover is rightback as aird is likely to leave soon and Ball would really be out his comfort.

26 Jan 2016 16:22:54
Bit harsh on Forrester, think the boy needs a bit of time to settle in, time will tell .

26 Jan 2016 16:46:03
Did we honestly think at the start of the window that THIS would be our business on the 26th January?

Any fan who says this is kidding themselves.

The team has come too far. They can't let this window go by without bringing in any reinforcements.

Warburton said himself we need signings with experience brought in this month.

He has this month and had the summer to find a quality holding midfielder and as of the 26th January we don't have one, simple as that!

26 Jan 2016 17:04:48
Quite right Thorn, but remember there is still a few days left to go, warburton has stated again that the guys are working away in the background trying to get deals done, just because the press aren't reporting it doesn't mean it's not happening.

26 Jan 2016 17:40:15
SKINT, no money. Board trying to do deals on HP. Only loans if anybody coming in.

26 Jan 2016 17:59:57
Onlyshowaround

Agreed. Just because Rangers transfer business isn't all over the back pages doesn't mean we won't have deals done.

But if MW doesn't get players in this window, it will be difficult if not impossible for him to keep his frustration under wraps.

He admitted himself that deals aren't started on the 1st of January.

He has had more than this month to get experience through the door and if there isn't an experienced name at the club before Falkirk our performance in this window will be below par to say the least.

26 Jan 2016 23:18:27
I for one would gladly see some faces from the youth set up given a chance if need be because of injuries, I think we have some really good talent there and there's only one way of finding out how good.

26 Jan 2016 12:10:09
So we have been linked to corry evans of Blackburn, for some reason I doubt this will happen, he'll cost us atleast 1mil he's contracted until 2019. Not to mention his wage will be easily 15k+ he normally starts most games for Blackburn too.

26 Jan 2016 14:39:10
Who thinks we should have a fans board set up again.

26 Jan 2016 13:53:24
He is actually second choice and needs first team football to secure his place at Euro 2016 with Northern Ireland. He is coming on a 6 month loan.

26 Jan 2016 13:59:28
any player that play every week and has more than a year left on their contract is out with our budget.

26 Jan 2016 11:37:59
Common sense is all but gone in modern society.

that sending off last night was a joke.

Halliday is gesturing to the Rangers fans to Gee them up, no exactly exciting a riot, how can he be winding up Morton when he is gesturing to his own supporters!

Did u see John Terry get send off when he equalized against Everton, he was on the advertising boards giving it yaldy in-front of his support, everyone going mental.

It is called passion, heat of the moment, human nature, u can't just switch that off, its is what makes winning so special!

I hate this stupid pathetic PC society that we live in, they are hell bent on taking any joy left in this sad place out of our lifes, looks like players and fans celebrating together in Scotland is a thing of the past if that is the bench mark set. Can you imagine an old firm game now a days, I think we will all be sadly disappointed when it happens!

26 Jan 2016 12:49:47
I assumed the cameras had missed something, but seems they didn't.

Personally I thought Miller and McKay should have got straight reds as they celebrated their goals. Terrible behaviour. Ban them for the rest of the season.

26 Jan 2016 12:55:45
Spot on bro, we have become a nanny state, or even a Fanny state, bunch o Fannie's making these rules. Rules are for fools.

26 Jan 2016 11:14:12
Fod

Tav, Kiernan, Wilson, Wallace

Ball
Law Holt

Waggy McKay
Miller

That would be my team for Falkirk. This is a must win. Hibs are not going to slip up again any time soon.

A said on here while back, next 5 games are must win that 1 down 4 to go.

If we can win these 5 then were left with 3 cup finals one being Hibs at Easter Road. Win them and league is ours.

This is our title run in don't care how we win these games!

26 Jan 2016 12:56:30
Shiels instead o ball, sorted.

26 Jan 2016 13:35:18
Don't agree about Hibs not slipping up. If Hibs lose their cup tie against St. Johnstone this weekend that might have an adverse effect on them. Don't forget that most of their last few games have been single goal victories or draws, often snatched late on (apart from when we gubbed them! ) . We should be 8 points clear by Saturday night and then we play Raith Rovers next Tuesday whilst Hibs are at Morton. Any slip-up by Hibs at Morton and we can be 10 or 11 points clear. I agree that the Falkirk game in particular is a must-win game. I hope Holt is fit for that one and I'd play Shiels.

26 Jan 2016 13:57:41
I agree Stuzo. Shiels in there for Ball and that side would do for me as well.

26 Jan 2016 10:17:12
I won the works sweep this morning but got a written warning for high fiving my colleague on hearing the good news. My gaffer Barry Cook is a tough manager.

26 Jan 2016 09:25:04
Barrymiddleton we have got a grip u slated our defence and backing a player who ain't even signed with us don't understand why people slag off our players like that and saying what uve seen of him he's been good u mention 2 games against us and celtic all players raise the game for those matches if he signs good luck to him but a won't slag my own team off to make a point like that.

26 Jan 2016 09:07:10
my dads brothers wee bous dugs budgie says Maurice edu is on his way over from vancouver.

26 Jan 2016 09:41:13
Think the budgie has it wrong, he plays for philadelphia.

26 Jan 2016 09:50:28
that budgie is spot on he is coming to escort Aird back to the motherland!

26 Jan 2016 10:10:22
The budgie says that he never said he played for vancouver al he says is he is on his way over from vancouver ha ha.

26 Jan 2016 08:54:52
Will the SFA take action against Barry Cook is the question. Scottish football is in danger of becoming the laughing stock of football fans around the world after last night.

26 Jan 2016 12:52:31
I see a future what happens next on question of sport.

26 Jan 2016 14:01:59
It had to be a joke! Even Stubbs said it was ridiculous. Thought MW was going to blow a gasket. Joking aside, it's decisions like that which could prove crucial as it knocks Halliday out of an important match against Falkirk where 3 points is a must.

26 Jan 2016 08:49:19
why did we beg arsenal for an extension for zeleam
now we have Falkirk this weekend
with our midfield even lighter
MW is still on about signings
before close of yhe transfer window
the same guy whom said he want to business done early I sometimes wonder who writes his speeches.

26 Jan 2016 09:03:32
ffs lay of the guy people. Yes he wanted all business done early, but that's no always possible. It may also interest every one moaning about missed targets that clubs like Barcelona, Man Utd and Real Madrid miss out on targets as well.

26 Jan 2016 11:57:33
Blueice we will lay off the guy when he stop talk **** and doing what he says he's going to do. he said he had two main targets. 1 who just signed for leeds and the second no where near signing. He also said he would have someone in b4 last night game and shock no1 has signed.

26 Jan 2016 12:23:57
hallet1. So you'd be happy if MW said sod the fans I'll won't tell them anything Until I decide? Also o'h is in my opinion only worth ÂŁ200k, but I'm willing to match the laughable figure St Johnston want it's only money after all. While I'm at it i watched Brentford game the other week and if that was diagouraga trying to sell himself get your money on Leeds getting relegated.

26 Jan 2016 14:54:05
No as i don't rate the guy as i beleave there is better players out there. Am just p***** off cause he's just telling us what we want to hear. Actions speak louder than words and there ain't been a lot of action just a lot of c*** getting said.

26 Jan 2016 07:30:43
A 2-0 away win on a cold, damp Monday night in January. Those are the sort of results that win titles.

26 Jan 2016 09:52:56
I agree Doiger, was a good hard fought win. That performance will do wonders for belief within the team that they can win even when not performing at their best.

Also thought Law and Sheils played pretty well, I have to say I would rather they both started ahead of Zelalem who again didn't look overly comfortable.

26 Jan 2016 10:09:06
Agreed and at this rate Barrie Mackay will be a ÂŁ10 million player in a year or two. Waghorn very good player too and Holt even though he was injured last night.

26 Jan 2016 14:08:24
McKay ' s goal was sheer class imo. Heard MW say he could play Barrie anywhere. Might be worth giving him a more central role with Waggy and O'Halloran either side (if O'H comes - according to the word on the street in Moodiesburn he is signing after st johnstone cup game) .

Ronaldinho In Near Miss, Football Leaks Reveals Arsenal And Real Madrid Deal And More

26 Jan 2016 07:31:02
{Ed's Note - We have posted a new article entitled, Ronaldinho In Near Miss, Football Leaks Reveals Arsenal And Real Madrid Deal And More

26 Jan 2016 06:30:07
Come on warburtonfofteenth. Luigi an so on on where are u all now. some1 just stated a fact. sure u would have slated it by now. after all it is a rumours and banter site is it not. or is it just a case of your right and whatever any1 else says is rubbish. hope ohalloren is coming but i heard celtic intrested and after all he supports them.

26 Jan 2016 09:18:06
Davie1980,I've told you and everyone else on here the o'halloran situation and that's where its at at the moment, remember my good friend was it not moi who told you and everyone else on here 3 months ago regarding our massive interest in michael o'halloran and that solid info came from a family member of o'halloran, time will tell like I said if the 2 clubs can agree the fee because AGAIN like I posted on here everything else bar the fee has been agreed, so there you have it once again!
