Hello fellow bears, feeling a bit of our old identity coming back as good as it is seeing some of the young guys on the bench and getting some game time would rather they where there because they have been stand out for months for there age category and not because we have a lack of deph in squad. With our options now what do use think about t he flanks really enjoy watching tav and candias link up, what's the thoughts on the other side Murphy then ither John or Wallace?

26 Jan 2018 21:12:59
Would like you opinion on Cardoso bears.

He seems to split opinion almost in half.

I feel he is a good football player, needs to be more physical but he is a decent ball playing CB. Does anybody think his wee cameo vs the Sheep was maybe an indication he will be going into Wilson's position in the squad?

He plays with a lot of passion and seems to feel privileged to play for Rangers. I'd like to see him start a game soon to see how he's coming along. Before he was assaulted in the Motherwell semi final, I remember him being solid in the 3-0 wi vs St Johnstone.

Thoughts?

26 Jan 2018 21:29:48
He has had good games, he also has had a few stinkers. How many games has he played? 15-20 at a push. I say give the lad a chance.

26 Jan 2018 21:33:22
I really like Cardoso. I agree with you that he needs to become more physical. I think there is definitely a player there and would be happy to see him get his chance. It seems though that he is way down the pecking order. Even if Wilson goes he would have Martin, Bates and potentially Alves ahead of him.

26 Jan 2018 21:37:17
Personally I'm in the no camp on this one, but would be happy enough if he gets his chance and proves me wrong. Best of luck to Wilson but no great loss. If Bruno could prove his fitness I'd prefer to keep him although admittedly he's not proved value for money so far.

26 Jan 2018 21:51:53
I like cordoso. I've never understood the bad press the guy got. I agree bearmode the guy looks happy that he's playing for Rangers would like to see him getting a run in team.

26 Jan 2018 22:06:39
I think he is a decent player and will improve but you are correct he does need to be a little more physical but I don't think we should be to hasty in getting rid of him.

26 Jan 2018 23:23:31
Think he would be a cracker in Portuguese or French league but needs to be a bit more rugged in our country!

26 Jan 2018 23:47:35
Month out with broken, nose!
Butcher, Gough etc would be playing through that but the lad
Wants to stay and fight for his place, thought he done ok anytime he has played, thought guys?

26 Jan 2018 23:53:08
In the long run I would prefer McCrorie or Bates along with Martin. I think he’s shown signs he can be good but been really poor on occasions, the first Hibs game for example.

27 Jan 2018 00:18:08
Good points lads.

Aye he’s definitely had his bad games but so has Mcrorie (Hamilton at home) and Bates.

He’s only 23, hopefully he will learn here and become a valuable part of the team.

Ps. Not having a pop at Mcrorie or Bates there, they have both performed exceptionally and are a credit to the club.

27 Jan 2018 02:51:27
Cardoso needs to be more aggressive a feel. he was all over the place against Corinthians for they 2 goals but he might improve.

27 Jan 2018 06:11:19
I cannot and will not forgive him for singing with Celtic fans then trying to cover it up as being taken out of context should have cleared his locker out there and then

27 Jan 2018 11:07:35
i think the point is we have choices now, not so long ago we didnt. so to me its esy, train well you play, lay well you keep your place othrwise dropped for one of the others mentioned

26 Jan 2018 20:12:13
Times running out and no one is enquiringly about Do Doo MOH or Halliday that's how good they are bin them only keeping young guys off the bench!

26 Jan 2018 20:45:35
Think that's harsh on Moh, he is decent at St Johnstone if we can't get that player at ibrox sell and get chris caden in and halliday is English league 1 level and do doo just needs a regular game (not in blue) to see if there is a player there.

26 Jan 2018 20:46:33
If no one is enquiring about them then the only way to bin them is to pay them off. I doubt very much we have the money to pay them off. Neither Dodoo or O’Halloran made the bench on Wednesday night so how could they have kept young players from going on the bench?

26 Jan 2018 20:51:47
Bongo, how do you know there have been no enquiries about those 3 players and how do you know that they are available for loan or permanent deals?

26 Jan 2018 19:32:07
I can't get my head round anyone giving stick to a player that wants to take the opportunity at a better life. If I was offered a chance of a life time to work and live in the USA with my family we would bite there hand off as would most off you. When people leave my work for a better opportunity we don't disown them, we wish them well, cry a tear and get pissed. Our nation and people built this world, that wasnt done with staying on the house.

26 Jan 2018 20:08:44
Totally agree with you TJBB especially when guy working alongside you is on double maybe treble what your on .

26 Jan 2018 21:19:38
Then you can't have too much blue blood coursing through your veins, the pinnacle of my life would be pulling on a Rangers shirt for real and wilson has left us once for money and is about to do it again, he has achieved nothing yet in the game, he is NOT poorly paid. If I was rich I would pay Rangers £10000 a week to let me play for them.

26 Jan 2018 21:35:30
Alves has won the euros, achieved much in his career. His wages are high but that's not his fault, the club choose to offer him those terms. I don't mind Wilson but he really isn't that big of a loss

26 Jan 2018 21:39:06
I agree with TJBB and Cyber, it's not a hobby, it's a short career and you only get one chance at it. You make your money when you can as you are a long time retired.
I am disappointed that we have not got him tied up as he is a quality player and he was growing into a real leader. Nothing wrong with trying to get a good deal for yourself in my opinion, that's what second all do. If Rangers wanted him they would have made sure he was signing.

26 Jan 2018 22:02:55
Jyf. r u on the glue. Firstly I don't think Danny Wilson is a boyhood Rangers fan. Secondly he is not the richest guy around and thirdly why should he knock back an opportunity of a lifetime. and by the way I have never rated him as a centre back but thought he was excellent against Celtic. you would pay £10k a week to pay for Rangers. would you aye

26 Jan 2018 22:15:37
Jyf totally agree but that's his choice, he seems to want money before anything else, greed, but I'm sure we will get by without him

27 Jan 2018 00:40:36
Jyf. Not sure how to take your post. On one hand I applaud your passion on the other hand your lack of empathy and thought.
Ive supported Rangers for 4 decades. I can't imagine life without Rangers. My blood runs deep with blue. However, the free will of a persons choice in life comes first before anything else in life. At Rangers we remember the sacrifice that ensures that way of life. So the next time your involved in a minutes silence think deep down what that actually means. Being a Ranger is more than just football.

27 Jan 2018 07:40:11
Well put TJBB, being a Ranger is more than just football but I can't and don't have empathy for anyone who could have everything that being a Rangers player has to offer but chooses to walk away just as we are getting our act together, he must see that our team is taking shape and his ambition alone should drive him to yearn to captain this team to league glory instead of running off to a league that won't really test him and push him to be all he can be.
dutch, "an opportunity of a lifetime" colorado rapids! and ye say i'm on the glue and yes if I was rich I would pay to play for The Rangers my son actually pays by direct debit just now to play for his amateur team . If you're happy for wilson then great but I can't see him being welcomed back at Ibrox when its all over and he's looking for a career .

26 Jan 2018 19:31:38
Why are people upset about Wilson going? In 3 years at us he's played for the last month and that's it, even then that's debatable as he was poor against st Johnstone and killie. His positioning is very questionable also. For me he's a decent squad player but not a starter. Good luck to him in America but he won't be a big loss.

26 Jan 2018 22:11:23
Excactly he has not done nowhere near enough over the past 3years to worrent a new 3year deal like some people were wanting him to get offered.

26 Jan 2018 19:08:03
Looks like Wilson is off to America.

If we were to get another CB in who do you reckon we would be good replacement?

I really think we do need to replace someone for Wilson as Alves is injury prone and McCrorie is out for a period as well.

Also I rumours floating around that McBurnie could sign for us also. Him and another CB and squad is complete ☺

26 Jan 2018 20:25:48
If danny Wilson goes then good luck to the guy. Looked like he was coming on to a more consistent game in the last couple of months but if he wants to leave then ok. I think he will regret it.

26 Jan 2018 18:33:14
Fans now pretending that Wilson is garbage anyway just because he's leaving. am gutted he's leaving tbh

26 Jan 2018 18:39:16
another snake money orientatated, good riddance

26 Jan 2018 19:41:55
Good riddance? Is that the best you can come up with? Wilson has been a great part of our club. He made Rangers 2 million quid as a teenager when transferred to Liverpool. He played a large part of last season carrying an injury and dropped by Pedro when he came in and we all know now that carries no weight. Fully fit now, he's been outstanding. He's done everything asked of him and should be our captain. Should play for Scotland. Good riddance?! Good grief.

26 Jan 2018 20:13:59
Outstanding? He was good against a Celtic side that caused us very few problems and had been average if not poor against the likes of st Johnstone and Kilmarnock. When he keeps it simple his distribution is fine but 9 times out of 10 he thinks he's Pirlo and loses possession trying to play long balls forward.

26 Jan 2018 21:24:43
Kfraser, if wilson is playing well just now then that's because he's at Ibrox not in spite of it and its him that wants to leave not us that wants rid so I say to him " off ye pop son and GOOD RIDDANCE".

26 Jan 2018 21:41:17
Outstanding is pushing it a bit. He had all the talent when he was a youngster. He's a good, decent defender now, that's all. If he wants to go to USA fair enough, I wish him well.
When all our defenders are fit, he'd be a squad player, he probably knows that

26 Jan 2018 22:07:03
Can you not just wish the guy good luck and move on. grow up.

26 Jan 2018 22:30:15
I know for a fact that it was Wilson who went into changing room at half time against Celtic and went thru folk for lack of effort and not giving a fluke. Murty opened door and let him go at folk and left to let the players go at it. It’s embarrasing guys on here saying good riddance to a player who has decided to look after his family and go to USA, the players he had a go at are all on much greater wages than him. Why should he stay?

26 Jan 2018 21:24:33
kfraser i never heard as much drivel as you spout on a reply to a post, i stand by what i said, money grabber before money grabber now, leopards don't change their spots, your comments are delusional

26 Jan 2018 17:45:50
Wilson can jog
Martin and Mcrorie should be our cbs. Remember that’s where Mcrorie came in and shine at first. His understudy is Bates and martins is alves/ Cardoso. Wilson is no loss.

26 Jan 2018 19:00:38
Alves is Pepe and carvaliho understudy at Portugal not Russel Martins lol

26 Jan 2018 20:56:43
Martin would walk into the Portugal squad. Lol

Good point mate but he’s injured and will obviously need to work to get fit and back in the team and if Martin is playin well and keeping clean sheets when he does get fit he will be an understudy until such times as he can dislodge Martin or his partner. A return to fitness does not and should not secure him or anyone else an automatic place . so aye. Understudy. 😉

26 Jan 2018 21:44:17
Martin had a good game against the sheep. Doesn't mean he's Richard Gough. I hope he does well and I think throughout the rest of the season all our players will have to make a contribution

26 Jan 2018 23:36:29
Am no martins biggest fan just what Av seen with Scotland, but hope he proves me wrong.

26 Jan 2018 17:11:37
Wilson will be off to Colorado WHO!
do you know what Danny if that's your level mate - good luck, no European football, small stadium probably not a lot of passion, no history I could go on.

I'm not a great fan of him anyway just more annoyed we gave him a chance and again he's off for money reasons. and has no commitment whatsoever (loser)

Wallace can go too - sorry guys he's not Rangers class - I've gave my reason before he does not do it for me at all losses possession to easily and not a great at defending etc

And Alves please you go too. you have been rank rotten.

26 Jan 2018 19:33:58
Wilson has been offered a new contract which he is unhappy about. He's looking at Brunos apparently weekly wage of around 25 grand and thinking he's doing a better job than him. Now i obviously don't know how much Wilson is on or how much his proposed new contract is worth. He obviously thinks he's worth more than Rangers have offered, so you can't blame the guy looking else where for more money. Whether he's worth it or not, i'm not so sure.

26 Jan 2018 21:49:22
Goalie you don't know that Wilson is thinking that. He might just fancy playing in USA. It doesn't mean he's a snake, a git. Players leave, even great clubs like ours. let's look forward to mccrorie, young master bates, hopefully playing instead

26 Jan 2018 16:33:32
Right bears, if Wilson does leave will we see another cb brought in? Or will cardoso be given a long run in the team? I see a player in cardoso but dunno if I'm confident in the depth we have in that postition

26 Jan 2018 17:12:53
Alves Martin bates and cardoso is enough for cover I think as well as mcorie can also go there if needed I'm really not bothered about Wilson

26 Jan 2018 18:33:55
Alves always injured so beta to get another cb in.

26 Jan 2018 16:12:38
With Danny Wilson probably on the way out, I'd finish this window with Herrera and Kranjcar being taken off the wage bill and a target man coming in, would love to see Oli McBurnie signing.

26 Jan 2018 16:37:44
More or less said the same thing further down mate. Seemingly others don't agree. Unless they make their feelings known as to why we can just assume they're trolls👍

26 Jan 2018 17:37:40
Get rid of two players who haven't done anything in the jersey and bring in a young, quality striker who is out of contract soon, seems like a no brainer to me mate!

26 Jan 2018 18:44:12
got any names for young quality strikers out of contract soon, let us all know when you find any, it would be much appreciated

26 Jan 2018 20:22:35
I suppose it depends on people's opinions of quality. Tyler Roberts and Devante Cole spring to mind. If your disputing McBurnies quality I don't think there's any other 21y/ old Scottish strikers getting a game in the English Premier League, and while he may not be scoring it's not that easy for any striker at that end of the league. 34 goals in 36games for Swansea u23s ain't bad either.

26 Jan 2018 21:51:31
Is niko not leaving this window? Thought he was willing to leave for nowt?

26 Jan 2018 14:42:18
Most of us, I believe, are really excited about this transfer window. We have 3 experienced players on a try before you buy basis, and best of all by far young, excitingly potential, Scottish lad very cheaply in my opinion. More of these please.

26 Jan 2018 13:46:32
Great business conducted in this transfer window. My question is do we need any more players or will this do until the summer?

26 Jan 2018 14:10:35
I think we have sufficient cover in most areas now maybe try get a few pre contracts in. But I would try loan a few players out Herrera, Barjonas, Dodoo, Hodson to name bt a few

26 Jan 2018 14:46:35
Imo we need to get Niko and Herrera off the wage bill. I'd really like a target man option (McBurnie would be perfect), there are also big question marks in central defence over Bruno and Wilson. It's all paper talk at the moment but I doubt both will be here at the end of the window. Personally I'd rather we ditched Cardoso who's surely worth a few bob in his homeland. Maybe a young rb to replace Hodson. That would do me till summer.

26 Jan 2018 09:34:00
Great piece of business with young Docherty last night, he'll be a definite asset to the Club. The future is looking good under Graeme Murty, he certainly isn't a one trick pony that's for sure, he's proved that he can change systems during a match, which the previous 2 incumbents couldn't.

26 Jan 2018 12:06:44
Unfortunately he changed the system for the worse after we went 2 goals up on Wednesday night.

26 Jan 2018 12:27:10
Jyf we won the game that’s all that matters

26 Jan 2018 13:44:30
I have had my fair share of moans on here the last few months but even I wouldn't pick holes in the last ten minutes after that performance! Well beat the team closest in the league to us, while bedding in new players with a good number of injuries and a few outstanding individual performances. Jyf mate, if the trade is we get 80 minutes of that every game to have a shaky 10 minute patch I would take it every week!

26 Jan 2018 15:09:37
Jyf for 89 minutes of the 97 minute match we bossed the sheep they had 8 minutes of pressure don't start slating the manager for shoring up for the clean sheet the last few minutes we won the game easily cheer up sour puss

26 Jan 2018 21:31:25
Sorry lads I was not slating the manager but pointing out that after we went two up the players were INSTRUCTED not to press so high up the park allowing the sheep to come at us and that is a flaw that Murty has, when we go ahead we invite teams on to us and it has cost us.

27 Jan 2018 00:28:11
At 2 - 0 down the Sheep had nothing to lose by throwing everyone forward. We should look at the positives - for all the pressure we still kept a clean sheet.

26 Jan 2018 08:55:24
It would be a shame if Danny Wilson's legacy at Rangers ends in personal greed. He has not done enough for the suggested £5K a week pay rise, although he has shown much promise in the last few games. A player tipped for great things by most at the club, is about to walk away. This is a very poor disicion most probably caused by an agent.

26 Jan 2018 10:35:44
Good riddance

26 Jan 2018 10:45:13
Legacy?

26 Jan 2018 10:48:23
You can't accuse him of greed. He's not exactly earning EPL wages and he may well be faced with an offer he can't refuse. He's a very good player and overlooked by the national team. He was left out by Pedro and that must have made him ask questions about his future. I agree it would be a loss to the club but a life in Colorado and an MLS career would tempt many players. Maybe offering him a better contract, the captaincy armband and a Scotland call up will persuade him to stay.

26 Jan 2018 11:02:06
I'll not be losing any sleep over Wilson tbh. Decent player, but easily replaced.

If you think of it from his perspective, we brought in two CB's in the summer, now another in this window along with McRorie and Bates getting in the team regularly, he maybe feels his days are numbered and is taking his chance.

Remember, he was benched most of the season until we were hit with injuries.

26 Jan 2018 11:28:40
I could’t agree more Nassau

My brother in law is a coach in the US at u16 which feeds into MLS clubs and he says standard is very poor so Wilson is moving for a bit more money rather than the chance of winning things and maybe getting back in scotland team

how sad

26 Jan 2018 17:04:17
I agree BearMode, with the improvements to the midfield it may be time to put McCrorie back to CD with Martin or Alves, he definitely has a future as a DMC but we will need him at the back with plenty cover in midfield now. I’d be happy to focus on getting 3/ 4 off the wage bill in the run up to the deadline with maybe a wee surprise in on the last day!
