Use our rumours form to send us rangers transfer rumours.

Pat Nevin said on telly today; Rangers were not demoted let's not kid ourselves, that's wrong, They had to start all over again from scratch.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Sorry to burst you bubble
He is factually correct. Pat Nevin is a unusuall type of ex footballer. He is well educated.

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh dear, that will be the end of his career in the main stream media. They don't like people telling the truth about "The Rangers"

Agree0 Disagree0

Enjoy your cup win and leave us to deal with our own problems

Agree0 Disagree0

Honestly don't see what's wrong with Nevins assessment. It was a ridiculous; and in many ways unfair situation for us (the fans) to find ourselves in but facts are facts. Debt was steadily being reduced but not fast enough for Lloyds; in steps Whyte. Whyte then decided to bump the taxman and the whole thing began to unravel. We might not like it but we were put into liquidation and had to start again. What is it that Nevin said that's incorrect?

Agree0 Disagree0

The man is only stating the TRUE facts, JK

Agree0 Disagree0

Well because he's educated doesn't mean he's right there's arguments for both about rangers keeping their history etc and its not been clarified 100 per cent either way. I KNOW ONE THING you STILL LOOK AT US AS RANGERS OR U wouldn't BE ON HERE GIVIN US YOUR PISH. BEFORE YOU START about sevco have a look who pacific shelf ltd are mmm

Agree0 Disagree0

@6-I'd like to take credit for being some kind of genius but it's not rocket science is it? If we didn't have to start again then why are we plying our trade where we are? I know a guy with a joinery business who's 'started again' 3 times. He's still driving about in the same van, he still looks the same, he's still using the same tools. Nothings changed except the fact that he hit financial difficulties, couldn't maintain his payments so in order to continue he had to accept starting again. He's a good joiner by the way; all his former customers don't pretend that it wasn't him that fitted their kitchen. In fact, they still recommend him to friends. Probably because he's accepted his lot, does a good job and is a nice guy. He doesn't feel the need to blame everyone else for his woes or look for conspiracies against him. Business has picked up and he's actually doing pretty well now. Mad idea but maybe we should just try getting on with it and fight for the future instead of wallowing in the past.

Agree0 Disagree0

And by your statement of him fitting the previous kitchens it';s the same as previous trophies.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said, Baybear!

Agree0 Disagree0

@6: do you still think that Celtic started again? How many times does it have to be explained on here - including by the eds - that they didn't. There was no liquidation, just a change of company name - the company number (the important bit) stayed the same. If you change your name by deed-poll do you become a different person?

Agree0 Disagree0

Had a mate had ironmongery let's just say Black & Son Founded 1978. Got liquidated and had to change the sign Blacks Founded 1995. {Ed001's Note - none of this is in any way relevant. This is a football CLUB first and foremost, the business was merely started to remove liability from the club members and to allow a few to make money from the many. The club is the whole, the business is just a part of the club, a side issue, not the club itself. That is why Celtic was able to run for years before starting a limited company to look after the business aspects of the club.}

Agree0 Disagree0

So you want no connection whatsoever with Rangers then Baybear?
How did you get tohear about the "new "club?
P. O. B.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi Ed, you8 probably won't post this because it disagree's with your view.
Uefa does not distinguish between the football club and the business they are treated as one entity, If the business is liquidated so is the club. So this means a new business is a new club. {Ed001's Note - except that has nothing to do with it. UEFA are just a governing body run by fools who have done nothing good for football. Their view is irrelevant, bit like yours. The only ones that matter are the fans of the club, just like those that follow AFC Wimbledon and see it as the continuation of the old Wimbledon. The company became MK Dons, the club is AFC Wimbledon.}

Agree0 Disagree0

ED001/ Have AFC Wimbledon any honours? The FA cup was won by Wimbledon have they a claim on it? {Ed001's Note - yes it was handed over to them a few years back.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed, how can you say Uefa are irrelevant? they are the governing body. You also quote the AFC Wimbledon v MK Dons argument, it is now openly agreed that none of these 2 clubs won the FA cup. So if your opinion counts for anything you have just admitted that the current version of Rangers have only ever won the Scottish 3rd division! {Ed001's Note - openly agreed by who? What are you talking about? That is simply not true. UEFA are irrelevant, they are only relevant regarding playing in their competitions, nothing more.}

Agree0 Disagree0

@12- deary me, what are you on about now P. O. B? I don't believe I mentioned ever wanting 'no connection' or any mention of a 'new club'. The OP was about Nevin saying we had to start again which we did. Applying for a license to play in Division 3 wasn't something you imagined, it actually happened. Why did we do that if all was well? If you bothered to actually read my response I referred to my joiner mate having the same van, the same face and using the same tools. I also referred to his customers acknowledging his good work prior to having to start again. We are Rangers, we have always been Rangers and unless we disappear completely we will always be Rangers. I acknowledge all of our titles and trophies because they were won by Rangers, the team I have always followed. However, none of that changes the fact that we had to start again. If we didn't then please explain to me why we are currently d!ck1ng around in the lower reaches of the Scottish game. This is a pointless debate that will trundle on forever because some people are terrified to admit the obvious and some people are consumed with getting us to incorrectly admit that we are a completely new entity. Who actually gives a f*ck? some folk need to just grow up and move on.

Agree0 Disagree0

Funny how AFC Wimbledon don't list the FA cup win on their honours page. I think you have been found out Ed001 {Ed001's Note - don't be so stupid. The trophy was handed over officially. Grow up. This imbecilic petty childish idiocy from bitter tools needs to stop. If they aren't the same you wouldn't be making such of an arse of yourself on here all the time.}

Agree0 Disagree0

The point being some of us like to wallow in our achievements and our club's tradition. That's all i'm saying.
However your last post makes things a little clearer than the previous one.
P. O. B.

Agree0 Disagree0

All for tradition and recognition of achievements but not at the expense of progress. Seriously though, what are folk so worried about? it's not like admitting we had to start again means that nothing was ever won. Just means Celtic will have an easy time of it until we get back challenging them. The whole debate is a non entity for me and quite frankly the least of my worries. I'm more concerned about where we are now and what our future holds. Pointless arguing the toss about history when it's already happened.

Agree0 Disagree0

Baybear, with all due respect you are the only person who was irked by the Nevin quote. Which states that we were not demoted (ie just relegated. ) And to state starting AGAIN from scratch clearly implies that we are the same club relaunched under a Newco, which IS from scratch. We the Club and supporters are not a completely new entity, and WE were not liquidated, only badly wounded. it was Oldco that ended. But each to his own opinions.

ED 001 has made it very clear that you cannot liquidate a football or any other sporting club, such groups cease when the members and, or the supporters disband, there is no mechanism for liquidating a CLUB. they are in existence before they even become a corporate entity! Liquidation is designed for companies and their assets, not sporting clubs and the like.

We have a great history, and I believe our forefathers would be proud of us who want to see the best of us shine again. That is, in a modern society without bigotry, and greed. I don't want to see the death of any CLUB, but to Hell with the corporate side, it's only a necessary evil, that divides and marginalizes all supporters, and causes huge inequality in the game.

Lets get back to the beautiful game and never loose sight of it, for all Clubs and their supporters

Aye Ready, forever.

Agree0 Disagree0

@20? Strange, I thought I made it clear that I was one of the only people NOT irked by the Nevin quote? The fact that the OP posted it suggested to me that he/she was irked by it. Looking back I suppose the OP could have been another clubs supporter trying to have a dig but I never read it like that originally. My first response was to question what the problem was with the statement. In fact, it wasn't until post 6 that someone mentioned history then the inevitable disagreements began. I think there are far to many of us who are paranoid and reading far to much into quotes of this nature.
I'm not trying to be divisive here mate but I'm really struggling to see what your debating with me? I've read over your post a few times and you seem to be agreeing with what I've already said in my previous posts? Particularly post 16. Let me clarify my opinion one more time so we can put this one to bed.
We have had to apply for a new licence to play football. We've had to begin at the bottom tier of the Scottish game, this is starting from scratch in my book. There is nothing in that statement that says we are not Rangers, just that we had to start again. Nevin even used our name in the statement. I'm sure I stated quite clearly in post 16 that there are people who are "consumed with getting us to INCORRECTLY admit that we are a completely new entity"
So with all that said, I think it's now clear I was/am not irked with Nevins quote.
I'd also like to commend you on your post, particularly the last paragraph.

Agree0 Disagree0

Baybear of course we are the same club just like your pal is still a joiner tmwnn

there is a story in the sunday paper saying the 2nd division and 3rd division teams are to have a meeting to discuss expelling the 1st division teams from the sfl

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Oh dear, what's the aim?

Agree0 Disagree0

So no where to go if you win D2 next season?

Agree0 Disagree0

26 May 2013 17:48:27
Hey guys a wee question. When will the fixtures be out for next season?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

11th june

Whats with the audited accounts not being handed over?. all clubs have handed there's over, so I smell a RAT. & the longer it takes, the more years will have to wait for European football, saying that, with internal investigations, bdo etc, european football can wait, heres hoping there's a liscence to play football next season. all going to go tits up meee thinks. sm

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I'm told that because we're a new club that we don't have to send in our audited accounts until the last day of June.

Whether we actually do that I have no idea.

Agree0 Disagree0

People that are saying the accounts aren't due are getting confused. Any club that wants to play in the SPL (and in Europe) have to have 3 years audited accounts and they MUST be in for April 30th. If we won the Scottish cup next year we would not be eligible to play in the Europa League although I doubt the SPL would be as stringent with us as UEFA would be.

Agree0 Disagree0

Go on the website and in the investor section you will see that the financial year ends on 30th June. It will be several weeks after that before the year end accounts are completed

Agree0 Disagree0

@3/ that's for the financial regulations mate. Accounts to play in Europe must be in by May 30th.

Agree0 Disagree0

@4 we haven't qualified for Europe this year so no need to submit accounts for a licence

Just a comment for the uninvited, who have a fascination with the famous Glasgow Rangers. Try to bring us down if you like, but with a couple of correct moves we will achieve our goal.
Mistakes will be made but we will get there, if we stick together.
It would appear that we are signing the right sort of player and if Ally can put a positive slant to our play then, who knows, what we can do?
Just one thing now required, let's do our business on the sport's pages and not the gossip columns. So to you media boys, stick your pencils behind your ears. [ or wherever. ]
Hopefully, the next 7-10 days will bring more positive news starting with a Hibs win, but if not, who cares the sleeping giant is awakening.
billyb

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Why would a second division team view a Hibs win in the Scottish Cup as "positive news".
Are The Rangers a feeder club for Hibernian?

Agree0 Disagree0

Why then post about hoping for a Hibs win? your comment makes u just as guilty as the people your having a go at. This is a Rangers site the cup final doesn't concern us

Agree0 Disagree0

To 1 and 2. ] Just supporting the underdog. Ha. Ha. Believe that if you like.
billyb.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well hibs lost, another disappointment for you right there. You can sign the whole Bayern team Ally will still f@@k it up. Thanks to all on here who bet on hibs, you kept the odds up, I've got some of your money. Don't forget to whack the money on our cl qualies opponents. The odds I got for Helsinki were a gift.

Agree0 Disagree0

To 4. ] As I said, who cares, we'll take the positives from the result----- your manager will stay.

a word for " john the jag ", why don't you stop the silly moniker pal and try and tell the truth, for a "jag" you do seem to have a helluva lot about our club don't you, are you in bed now thinking of us? Tb

Agree0 Disagree0

27 May 2013 01:01:35
BTW 4, the odds on celtic never changed in 4 wks, so ure lying, you are trying to make people believe the one or two hundred punters who backed hibs affected the thousands who bet celtic, you probably never backed anyone, u warrior you TB

Agree0 Disagree0

To Poster no 6 - i'm in seat W96 in the Jackie Husband Stand - and have been since it opened.
The fact I have an eclectic, indeed, catholic, interest in football seems to annoy you.
Wonder why. The truth does hurt doesn't?

Agree0 Disagree0

3-1 on for Celtic was unreal. Should have been much less. Glasgow bookies took more on hibs than Edinburgh ones. The fact that the odds never changed is just a testament to the fact that money was going on hibs. Most bets are placed in the 3 days before the match, the Celtic odds would have come in. I understand it very well. I've never won so much on football as this year. The punters grapevine has picked up on it so we need more on our opponents, over to you guys. Also amazing odds on THE rangers opponents given that your team is absolute sh1t. Next year should be better, for us that is, doesn't matter what players you sign, the management will soon screw them up. Fact is betting against THE rangers has better potential than owning their shares. My message to you, don't change, keep supporting Ally and betting against Celtic.

Agree0 Disagree0

To 10. ] You must have had selective betting methods when choosing your games. Just look at the number of games your team lost or drew during the season and I would doubt if you covered your ass.
Winning money is in your imagination, but what is not, is that the sleeping giant is awakening.

What does Religion have to do with Football John?

Agree0 Disagree0

27 May 2013 17:10:54
@12: catholic with a small c is nothing to do with religion. It means all-embracing.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thank you No. 13. Nice to see other people here speak English. I blame the schools these days.

Agree0 Disagree0

@14 John, as you can see the moment anyone mentions the "c" word these bigots start foaming at the mouth! It's not only the school's fault, it's their families and the media's fault for pandering to these vile individuals!

I'm backing McCoist, McDowell and Durant. Fed up with the posts on here by fans who have never played football and have no clue about football other than by play station. Ad nauseum reading about playing one up front only. Which team in the world doesn't? Most goals the world over are scored by midfielders or playing off the centre forward.

Let's be frank. The critics on this forum have no clue about modern football and their comments about McCoist's tactics make me laugh.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I agree, I think that many people who post negative comments r fans who expect too much too quickly. It is perfectly understandable, but people still seem to expect the same quality as when we were playing in the spl, which we can't. If mccoist was going to get sacked they would have done so already, so stop slagging off a club hero and get behind him and the team (which with these signings will look much better next season). Come on the Gers!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Looking at it in context, Rangers playing one up front against current opposition at Ibrox is a nonsense. You can't possibly compare our current situation to that of teams playing in higher standard leagues/competitions in Europe. It's like sending a soldier into battle with a sword when he has a perfectly good machine gun back at the barracks.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree m8 the team last season was throwing together at the last min. Yes the players we got where not to bad but most just didn't cut it at the end. This season should be much better for McCoist. As far and getting rid ye people need to take a step back. Look at who we are playing we will win every league every season. Until we don't just be happy when we win. Witch should on paper be every game but its not going to happen. the way we played last season wasn't fun to watch. But we might have had no team to watch at all. So I say just wait till we are bk at the top. We will have a bag full of young players with around 30 or more game each witch can only be a good thing.

Agree0 Disagree0

Playing 1 up front is fine if your playing a decent team or maybe an average team away but not part timers at Ibrox.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 May 2013 14:06:01
Well you be "frank" then, I will just be one among the many thousands who, after watching ally's horrendous team set up all season, who thinks he's utter mince, and that's with nearly thirty years playing all different levels experience. I wouldn't let mccoist pick an effin 5-a-side team never mind a pro team, that ok with you. frank?

Agree0 Disagree0

If your happy with those 3 then u know even less than the people your having a go at. The standard of football under McCoist has been appalling and his record in the cups is an embarrassment. If your happy with that then u r either clueless or a Celtic fan at the wind up

Agree0 Disagree0

Baybear are you still on the shandies?
Who is the "perfectly good machine gun"?

#5.
Our midfield is rank and we certainly don't have someone who can control a game or make something happen out of nothing.
And what about Cribari and co at the back?
Taking someone out of midfield would only expose our poor central defenders even more.
The OP is right, even with all your self proclaimed experience, it sounds like you haven't a clue mate.
Really can't understand all this negative Ally brigade. Did any of you read John Daly and Nicky Law's comments on Ally?
Gies a break with the negative p*sh for a change and try supporting our manager, at least for another season.
P. O. B.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm a Rangers fan. Was at the 73 Cup final as a teenager. Parlane at no. 9, Conn at no. 10. Did we play with one up front? Admit it, no one knows what the hell the posts on here of one up front means because it's pure nonsense.

Agree0 Disagree0

Make no mistake, Ally mcoist will be sacked. Unfortunately it looks like it's going to take another load of crap to be dumped first.

Agree0 Disagree0

@7: and you think Law and Daly would say anything negative about their new manager?!

Agree0 Disagree0

So what I watched last season was modern football. modern football was it
thats what goes in this modern era of football. give me jim steele anyday

Agree0 Disagree0

@7- 'self proclaimed experience'? what are you on about P. O. B? I've never proclaimed anything mate, other than my opinion. What is it with you and your wee digs in posts?
Anyway, in answer to your overall point. IMHO we sold ourselves short all season playing the way we did. Are you seriously telling me that Ally never had the personnel capable of playing a more attacking and intimidating game against the part timers of the 3rd division? Especially with the backing of 45k at Ibrox? seriously?
Granted we're by far and away a poor substitute for past Rangers teams but come on?!
Need I remind you we are a club with massive resources that dwarf that of our opponents regardless of our situation last season.
Shiels, Templeton, Sandaza, McKay, Little, Wallace; most proven at a much higher level, all capable of attacking. All capable of either scoring a few or delivering a ball for someone to get on the end of. Trouble is, there was rarely anyone there to get on the end of anything. Ally had them playing within themselves all season and somehow managed to change a proven goalscorer in the SPL (Sandaza) into a guy who got no service, lost confidence and subsequently couldnae score in a brothel. All of the players I've mentioned slowly died off as the season wore on and I blame Allys style of play and tactics for that. Some of these guys played nothing like they are capable of by the end of the season. As always you're entitled to your opinion but I honestly can't see how you can justify how we have played and been set up all season? other than the usual tired excuse of " no pre season" Only time will tell but I honestly think another coach would have got so much more out of this squad. and wouldn't have signed some of the pash like Cribari in the first place.

so we hemmings little mckay naismith big lee all capable as strikers why get daly in looks like more high balls lumped up front for lee or daly we only play 1 up front so surley we don't need daly boyd miller ect all the other rumours clark is the man has proved it at this level but yet this rumour has whent quite and sign another fat lazy slow striker in daly long balls again mccoist needs get grip 2 up front for starters not one off the other 2 right up front together clark and mckay get ma vote pass the ball instead of lump up field midfield don't create anuf for strikers looks like law and black in centre next season big mistake mccloed and law not black who are we going get rid off cause the wage bill is getting bigger and no exits mccoist keeps asking for players ans seems to be getting them just now reminds me of last summer signing spl players on high wages just a stunt so we get season tickets renewed well ain't working this time boardroom is a shambles and needs clearead

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Great post glad to see more people voicing these very real concerns.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 May 2013 16:06:15
I'll tell you why:

McCulloch - great servant but nearly finished.

McKay - Never kicked a ball since January

Hemmings - Never fit long enough and still has a lot to prove.

Naismith - Absolutely red rotten

Little - Great year last year but over the last 2/3 has struggled with injuries and needs some help. Now if you think we can win Div 2 with the above your mad!

Jon Daly proven in the Scottish top flight and will guarantee you goals and can also cover centre back. Some of you "FANS" are brain dead.

Agree0 Disagree0

To answer your question, why daly, absolutely simple, better than anything we currently have at centre back and up front, not complicated is it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Daly will be like hately and with clark beside him wel run riot little wide templeton behind strikers wel be fine
