I think on
Sunday as we have 2 attacking full backs I would play 3 Centre backs.

26 Oct 2015 22:46:00
No need to show any fear of hibs, just go for them for 90 mins.

27 Oct 2015 09:49:35
It is not fear Tom, but I agree with emer that we play 3 at the back and I would have Ball pushing up to support the midfield. This would give Halliday more freedom and make sure we control the middle of the park. On Saturday, there were too many times that St Mirren outnumbered us in the midfield and were able to create chances.
This is how I would like us to line up.

Just a question. does anyone think that wilson could play well as a holding mf?

26 Oct 2015 12:23:27
A really don't thank that he could tbh! There is no doubt he is good with the ball at his feet but he is a defo CB! As MW said, and I posted last wk, he got a fight to get back in the team as big DB is quality.

26 oct 2015 12:56:32
i would go with this, sit and let them come have a go. they have to win this game, we could do them by stretching them wide if we get the out ball right.

Personally I think we must support the midfield as our current system let's the opposition win a fair amount of midfield possession and therefore create chances.
I would go for three at the back with one pushing into midfield and stiffen the spine of our team.
We have some great ball players, but I just feel that we give away too much possession in the middle of the park.
I don't want us to lose our attacking ethos, but the spine needs stiffened.

26 Oct 2015 14:47:44
HAHA! Sorry meant to change that to Wilson in a CB.

26 Oct 2015 18:51:40
rather we had our own players playing regularly, as opposed to using loanees and our own guys not improving due to lack of match practice. It was mentioned before that Ball could play defensive midfield, could be the answer.

26 Oct 2015 22:26:44
Cee, I agree with your rangers team to start against hibs on sunday with the exception of one player, i would definitely have dominic ball in ahead of danny wilson, I really do think ball is a quality player mate!

That would be my team. Might be a good idea to go 5 at the back though.

27 Oct 2015 13:50:35
The main reason we lost the ball so often in middle was zelalom's slackness.

29 Oct 2015 12:45:34
I think balls a good playerand it is a tough call between him and kiernan but Wilsons playing out from the back has really been missed he always offers an option steepinng put from the back.

26 Oct 2015 11:43:09
Is anyone else a little surprised that MW wants to keep Gedion Zelalem for another 6 months?

Understand that game against St Mirren yesterday was his first game back but he was quite poor. Passes were quick but they didn't have the desired effect.

Would like to see MW sign a creative midfielder and give them a run in the team and if they are permanent in January they could be losing game time in place of someone who is a solid guarantee going back to Arsenal.

Plus we 100% need a striker. And not SPL qualiy please. RANGERS quality. This means no Michael O Halloran or Adam Rooney. Know full well every signing we make can't be the same as Waghorn and Co but not only do we have W&W now. We also have Frank Mcparland. What a great team they are and will hopefully find us some gems.

26 Oct 2015 12:04:44
I thought the team was yesterday bar ball and our keeper bad day at the office don't think the boy done any worse than anyone else to be fair! we don't have a big squad so it makes sense to keep him I think.

26 Oct 2015 12:59:32
Zelalem came back from the US injured, he was clearly under par. However against Hibs the game will be fought in midfield that will be tough with McGinn, McGeough, Henderson and McGinn that an SPL standard midfield we need to match it with strength Zalalem has the ability to keep the ball he will be vital come Sunday.

26 Oct 2015 14:48:37
Did it again, McGinn, McGeough, Henderson and Fyfie I meant.

26 Oct 2015 10:16:00
Hibs game is going to be a tough game at the wknd. If we keep missing all these chances we might get punished against them.

A draw might be a good result this wknd, but a win and we are on the march back to too premiership.

But in January we must get a penalty box striker and if the ex Barcelona boy does not get signed we must find a creative midfielder.

And if John E don't sign by Jan then a holding mid player also.

thoughts?

26 Oct 2015 10:35:06
Well think I might do a wee double, Stephen Thompson's Dundee Untd and Mike Ashley's Newcastle both to get relegated, got to say don't know if I would enjoy the cash or it just happening the most.

26 Oct 2015 22:32:46
I have to say lw that I do not want newcastle utd to get relegated mate as they are my favourite english team, I totally agree with you and hope dundee utd get relegated as I despise their owner stephen thompson, the guys a waste of space as far as I'm concerned!

27 Oct 2015 04:11:10
I used to like Newcastle too but if it harms Ashley I'm all for it. I don't think they'll go down though. Villa, Sunderland and Bournemouth.

27 Oct 2015 07:05:03
Totally agree with warbs the 15th's post.

26 Oct 2015 10:24:48
Regarding a need for a potent striker. These guys cost money and that is something we don't really have. I personally think Clarke should be given the role and put wags out on the right. Every time he is out there he makes space and things happen, and you can always move him into the center with clarke if needed.

26 Oct 2015 11:30:13
His goal scoring is rotten though. We need someone who can finish not someone who runs about. Clearly not good enough and don't know why people on here are calling for him to play.

26 Oct 2015 12:06:51
Spot on biffo he's is not the answer they need to look elsewhere n shift him on.

26 Oct 2015 15:59:38
I agree guys, Clark is not the answer. Nice guy, but can't cut it at this level so don't see how he will be able to do it in the top flight.

26 Oct 2015 08:10:44
MW needs to introduce some youthful zest against Hibs next Sunday. As I've already posted here, Miller should be gone and at best an emergency substitute. Why not play Hardie up front to start against Hibs? Not sure what is happening with Oduwa and Zelalem in terms of fitness and form. Personally, I'd like to see Dean Shiels starting too. We need to start putting games to bed before half time like earlier in the season. Biggest successes this season Foderingham, Tavernier, Waghorn and Mackay.

26 Oct 2015 16:10:18
Aye Doiger. It might be the time for MW to throw a curve ball in there and start with Hardie. I've always liked Shiels as well. Clever player and yes, I'd say those 4 players you mention have been a great success but I'd mention 5 and would have wee Holt in there as well.
