saw ally on stv news earlier stating a bid was in,but duff n phelps never told him who put in the bid,perhaps ally could tell us why he never demanded the names of who put in the bid...a wee bit bit of clarity for the fans would have been nice.

Believable6 Unbelievable2

Retorting with a snide comment ,regarding ally is a rather redundant mute point since we all know whom the bidders are.

Agree3 Disagree2

No1...considering ally knew the names of the 3 man panel do you not think his point was a rather redundant mute point also?nobody was threatened when i made this comment,can your manager honestly say the same thing about his?

Agree2 Disagree3

So ally knew these tims are all mystic megs

Agree0 Disagree0

@ no.2 but as I supporter of the club , I'd did not know who was imposing this sanctions on the club , as a right of impartiality do you not think to remove all secrecy and talk of conspiracy, that it would have been better that the panel members were open right from the start?
Remove any shroud of secrecy , therefore take away this cloak and dagger nonsense that just breeds all this nonsense, Like these numpties that have no place in this so called modern society, would it be better if say X,Y,Z, are on the panel here's our findings no either accept them or appeal,as iv stated in previous posts even in a court of law you know the name of the judge who's passing his/her verdict on you.

Agree0 Disagree0

You chaps are pure amazing so you are, everything is a strait line. the SFA say the gers had a man at the hearing, so Ally must of known the names of the panel so asking for the names was a slekit, dangerous attempt to incite violence, throw the book at him and the rest of their manky support, it's what they're like, who they are, pure disgusting, our guy is controversial sometimes but he's just being passionate, he's no that bad, god I love celtic, we're brilliant.

Eh no.

You do realize that is what you and sadly, a great many commentators on here sound like right?

The point is we don't know if the three man panel were even at the hearing (it was just the pronouncement of their findings not the hearing itself), given that they are supposed to be anonymous I find it unlikely that they'd be sat up in front of everybody, wearing a big smile and waving to everyone. Also given anonymity, even if they were there (unlikely), do you think their names would just be handed out? maybe, I really don't know, but you lot seem certain and desperate to put a negative spin on anything rangers. Personally, i think there is enough real crap to be going on with without looking to add in some made up stuff.

Ally is an honorable man, he was clearly angry about the decision but there is no way he would come out and deliberately attempt to incite violence, anyone who thinks he's that guy is deluded and just looking for an excuse to hate. Look at the interview, his reaction was an honest one, emotional isn't usually his style and for my money, there is no way he knew the names of the panel before making that statement. duccablue

Agree0 Disagree1

Can you speak up? Too many 'mute' points on this thread.

Ed!! Celtic fan here and a question for you. Was the Ticketus deal based on a set price for each supporters season ticket? If so, and say that season ticket was 400 pound, couldn't the club just slap another 200 pound on the top of it for 3 years and take the extra profit? That would raise about 20M pounds by my estimates. Or was the deal worded in a way that Ticketus took the whole price of the season ticket regardless of what the club set it at? {Ed001's Note - they get a certain amount of money, it was just set as X amount of season tickets. It is possible that price rises could give the club more profit, but who could afford the extra money?}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Point taken but put it this way. If things were like this at Parkhead and the club said they would rise the prices for 3 seasons at 200pound a year, seeing as the way things are, don't you think the majority of Rngers fans would actually do it? Split it into 4 easy payments of 50 pound each and hey presto. More cash. I als believe if you ask the season ticket holders, seeing as they already spend money on season tickets and more active supprters, they would be the people most likely to do it. Do you think this may be a plan in the future? {Ed001's Note - it is very likely that ticket prices will go up to increase income.}

As a Rangers fan since 1969 it's sad to see the Club in this sorry state. I'm sick of all the false bids from so-called saviours. Liquidation is inevitable & it'll wipe the slate clean. Let's work our way back into the SPL with dignity. In 3 or 4 seasons we'll be beating Celtic and reminding them there's only ONE team in Glasgow!

This is obviously too complicated an idea for some to understand. Sadly comes from too many KJ and BL moonbeam stories being swallowed daily. The BBC are stating facts and interpreting for the glaikit, the Dumb & Dummer release which talks about differing financial offers and proposals. And no Quantum isn't the pay as you gas meter at Ibrokes.

Why should Scottish football care about Rangers and Celtic, as they both have done there best to leave Scotland for the past 10 years. Now when rangers need a friend they say Scottish football will die without them. They were happy to let it die in this case when they had money and power so i say kick them out not the 3rd division but gone completely and if Celtic wish to stay they accept change. Scottish football will die NO IT wont it may be smaller and less attractive but it will always be there and free of the brothers bigot.

Believable5 Unbelievable5

Dont be daft mate, the spl will die without the old firm...jsm

Agree3 Disagree2

Too true, you are right. But show me a scottish national team that achieved something, show me a scottish national team that achieved something with the Old Firm there, supporting it, backing it up. In Scotand the Old Firm take players and develop them with regular euro experience, achievement and hand them over to Scotland national squads.
You are just so short sighted u must be from the east coast.

From Duff and Duff:

"This is more than just about money; I think this is about philosophy as well.
"We have been very clear that a CVA is the only thing the supporters want.

D & D should only be looking at what is best for the creditors want (not the supporters) this is there legal requirement . All this what the fans want is just smoke and mirrors who has the most money for a CVA or liquidation wins

Just reading that combined the rfff and the red and black scarves and rosettes have raised around half a million pound.

I think in these tough times thats a great amount for the fans to donate and more will be donated.

This money enables us to pay fo a top QC to appeal our case against the SFA.

This shows we really do have the best fans in the world.

Just a footnote...I hope everyone behaves tomorrow, enjoy yourselves, make the point that we wont be stood on. For god sake leave the bigotry at home.

ed i hope you post this and give me your opinion aswell,brian kennedys worth,because i wrote an earlier post saying he was worth 3 times more than the septic chairman and i was scorned at by all the septic fans that cant use there own sitebut every time i google brian kennedy his worth is quoted in the billions,not that it really matters,because he has a reputation for being a decent guy that would be init for the right reasons {Ed001's Note - I have no idea of the worth of the Celtic board, but Kennedy has a paper value of over 3000million. I wouldn't want to guess at his motives though, Stockport fans have a low opinion of him, but I am not convinced he is to blame for the state of their club.}

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Seriously, it is how much anyone will put in to any club that counts .murray lost millions in his attempt to revitalise rangers. Desmond refused to bankroll Celtic at the last AGM despite being them shot shareholder, Scottish football cannot make money. The sooner everyone gets this the better.

Agree0 Disagree0

His wealth is off the radar.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks ed i knew his worth was 3 times that of dd {Ed001's Note - it is only paper value though. It is totally different from the spending power he has available to him.}

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Apr 2012 21:23:34
Ed if blue knights and Brian Kennedy offer is successful and they gain control of club could they not just honour the initial agreement for the season tickets hence keeping them happy and wiping £27 million from the cva pot?

jacko {Ed001's Note - they could, if they choose to, yes.}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

But with a deal struck for future season tickets, at a conservative amount of 40000 a year, could Rangers actually guarantee that if they were to go to Division 3? There would be an effective shortfall from the subscriptions so that would mean the club would have to plug the hole.

Agree0 Disagree0

To 1. if they bought the club we wouldnt be in the 3rd division, still in SPL and they couldnt do anything about it. no relegation unless we played that bad but that wont ever happen

Announcement from D&P:

DUFF and Phelps, the administrators of Rangers Football Club, today issued the following statement.

David Whitehouse, Joint Administrator, said: "We can confirm this afternoon that we are in receipt of two formal bids for control of Rangers Football Club. Both bids at this stage remain conditional.

"We are in receipt of a bid from Bill Miller whose bid is conditional on securing greater comfort and clarity from the football authorities in relation to sanctions against Rangers. Clearly, the events of last Monday night when the SFA's judicial panel imposed severe and, in our view, unwarranted penalties on the Club had a destabilising effect on the sale process.

"However, since then, Mr Miller's bid team have worked to develop a structure which enables the wishes of creditors to be taken into account whilst ensuring that the Club is taken forward well-capitalised and the requirements of the footballing authorities are met. Mr Miller hopes a solution to all regulatory issues can be found and his team has been in constructive discussions with all relevant parties this week.

"This afternoon Brian Kennedy and Paul Murray submitted a bid which is conditional on a CVA being approved by creditors and we will seek guidance from prominent creditors. It is also conditional on the acquisition of the shares of Craig Whyte in the football club and we have asked for this and other points in the bid to be clarified.

"We note the statement today issued by Ticketus and its withdrawal as a potential partner for the Blue Knights.

"What should be clarified is that neither bid involves liquidation of the football club. In terms of quantum, there are significant differences between the two offers in terms of a prospective return to creditors and approach to future funding and these have to be evaluated. We will provide a further update as soon as possible."

Whats all this Celtic don't need Ranges rubbish?, has anyone who said this noticed that Celtic's average attendance this season is down almost 11,000 on season 2000/1?, and that number will go up big time if Celtic fans have to pay £500 a season to watch games against St mirren, Ross co and Falkirk in a title race that would be over in half a dozen games.

The only time CP has been filled to capacity this season is when Celtic played Rangers FACT.

As for the rest of the spl not needing Rangers just take a look at what Steve lomas St johnstone manager said today. They can't offer any new contracts to players at the minute incase Rangers are not in the league.

Like the Rangers fans have been saying for the last few weeks, be careful what you wish for spl you may get it.

Believable5 Unbelievable7

Rubbish.The st johnstone players might have to take a dip in wages,but they will get contracts.It is called budgeting,murray should have tried it..........green jhedi

Agree4 Disagree4

I agree,alot of the smaller teams want to jump on the band wagon saying they dont need rangers even tho (ICT said last year that when celtic/rangers come to their grounds the money from them more or less run the club for a few months) so as you be careful...

lets be honest,dundee utd,ross county,maybe killie,aberdeen & hearts are all skint. rangers going down would kill them off them. celtic,hibs & maybe a couple others would stay in business.

No one sees the bigger picture tho if rangers go down,it gives scottish youth a chance & you never know it might be the dark horse that saves scottish football.kenny shields collum put nail on the head in the DR. he said he wants to put 5/6 youth players into the 1st team next year but will the fans be happy with that even tho they might finish 10th or lower? as a manager its going to be the way forward in years too come but if the fans dont like that they go against you.

borussia dortmund done that a few years ago rather than sign big players pump the transfer money into the youth system but the short term would be that they dont win a thing & might even go down.but bigger picture is now they won the league twice with a really young team of players who in return will go for big money. this is what rangers could do but as above you dont win or that but then you make the money ?

bigger picture is going to b e the key in the next few years

Ed could u clarify please?
If ticketus go after whyte could this not end a very dodgy ground for ticketus?,
Aslong as whyte has shares no amount of offer can get rid without his say so?
Ticketus surely would be better going on whytes team as that where aces are,
If ticketus took legal action could drag and then they find over thirty million down,
Again go with whyte better the devil you know {Ed022's Note - I fortunately have knowledge of the PLC system etc, so I can help you out with that. Although Whyte holds the primary dominance of the shares, it would still be possible to override those shares if all existing shareholders came together and were unanimous about it. It would cause complete dissarray within the setup and every single one of Whytes decisions as Primary Shareholder would be scrutinised etc. Figuratively speaking, perhaps a possibility would be for Whyte to sell off his shares (but not entirely if he were that persistent) and gain revenue for the club, but then he'd potentially forfeit his ownership. Ticketus are the powerhouses of this deal at the moment, as everything must be to their agreement, otherwise it'll all collapse.}

Opinions welcomed by both. Why is it, that last season. It was celtics league to win. We went on a run. Since losing at home in April. To win the league. Win the diddy cup. Where still in Europe after Xmas. Yet smith never got near the manager of the year. Yet after clawing back 15 points, 12 if u count it properly. Celtic were a day behind playing killie. For Celtic fans but. How does he deserve to win the award? How many old firms did Lennon win last year? He had a better record than smith. But see in all honesty. Uz shudny a even won at parked this season. Goaline technology saved uz there. But anytime it matters in our derby. We've came out on top. It's all ifs and buts. If murray never sold to Whyte. It would be 4 in row. That's when the buck stopped

Green Jedi. How can u justify that? Since we got the the uefa cup final. Finishing 3rd in a hard group. Winning away 3-0 from home in Lyon. We earned alot a cash. Our debt was atleast 50 mill. We reduced it. We had about 18 senior players. Trimmed the squad completely. Living on a budget! The debt was 18 million. Whyte used ticketus to pay the debt. So explain how we would be liquidated? Murray wanted out for years. N bit Whyte hand off for his pound n take the Derry. This is a rangers site, n u spend a awfull lot of time on it. Best of it is, we have a transfer embargo. Ha :). Mind the last team u played that had one? Got ur team a buy into the Europa league? Mauled ur mob. We take it on the chin. Malmo, maribor. When it's uz someone's always cheated u. Same with tommorow. Ed how long do you think before we hear if the bids been accepted mate ? And what's your view on this ticketus saga? Good or bad thing their not on board? I may be wrong but did I not hear a while back Kennedys been told he can fight and beat the ticketus deal? I'm probably wrong on that, so much sh!t to try an make sense of gets confusing?
PaulRFC {Ed022's Note - I'll try my best and answer this mate, but perhaps 001 is more capable of providing a more in-depth answer. From what I've seen from the reports etc, and just general opinion, D+P are absolutely crap administrators who have probably done more harm than good, and it's very difficult to say when an announcement will be made. My view on the ticketus saga is that it's extremely tautological in the respects of them being rather fierce and stubborn to get their money etc etc, rather than putting the club first, which, is understandable to a degree. However, for a deal to go through fully, I'd say that Ticketus need to have some level of agreement on the bidders, and a method of sorting out the debt etc, otherwise it'll more than likely destroy the club. The important thing is consensus at the moment, and there need not be more internal conflict, but it's difficult to please all parties, especially with d+p at the helm. That's just a general opinion though mate.}

@2;jardine was a great full back,but not in McGrains class.danny played on the left for scotland to allow jardine to play.......green jhedi

Agree3 Disagree4

Loads...Successive Scotland managers played McGrain out of position to fit Jardine in....lightning pace at his peak, great control and skill, played till he was 38-ish for a good Hearts team, played in 2 World Cups.....not taking one jot away from McGrain, who was also a great international player,who was probably a better defensive player than Jardine, with Jardine shading the attacking quality.

The truth be told , Jardine and McGrain were pure class, from an era when Scotland had some cracking footballers.
What happened ?

though izaguirre has the potential but rangers have no-one .
rangers could have had them both if it wasnt for you know what. lol.

Things seem to be moving but I wonder what the ticketus situation is. If they are not involved they then become creditors. However I have read that ticketus seem to think they can recover the money from Whyte, good luck with that!
If that is the case our friend Whyte will be in the situation that he got us in - bankrupt. Oh how sweet that would be!

However if that is nonsense, and it probably is, because after all Whyte has confirmed that he is on the line for ticketus, not Rangers, where does that leave ticketus?

Would find it hard to believe that after all discussions with the BKs that they would refuse a CVA, seems pointless.
I am happy, if rumours are true that Blue Knights and Brian Kennedy will take over, as I would not have fancied Miller's plan, but just feel that mr whyte will not hand over shares. It seemed to be ticketus that felt they could get the shares from whyte, if they agreed not to go after him, but where does this leave the shares. Whyte will clearly want his pound of flesh because he is a money grabbing piece of s**t, and leopards don't change their spots.

Better news today but feel this shadow of whyte hanging over us will not make it as simple as we would like to think.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Kennedy wants ticketus as a creditor, and he's been advised not to deal with them, so this headline "ticketus withdraw support" is probably p!sh because Kennedy has never wanted them onside.

Here is a question for the Celtic tax experts on here, if the ebts case was as open and shut as they proclaim why are we now about to move into the 4th month of deliberations on this issue?

Surely if Rangers were as guilty as the these self proclaimed experts on taxation keep telling everyone it would just have been the case of the panel rubber stamping the fine and moving on, yet next week we'll be into the 100s in terms of days since the FTT finished , seem to remember most of them saying a verdict would be out in 90 days and no more.

Maybe not as open and shut as some people like to think?

Doesn't really matter. Is just something for us Celtic fans to chew the fat over. The bottom line is that it doesn't ruin our club so we can speculate nas much as we like.

A massive 97% (1,520) in an online poll are against a Rangers newco in the top flight should the Ibrox club go into liquidation and be reformed.

Two thirds (67%) of the 1,558 Aberdeen FC fans polled warned they would boycott all games if Rangers went bust and were allowed straight back into the SPL.

If ticketus are planning on chasing craig whyte for their 27 million their is no way whyte is gonna sell his shareholding too bk/bk consortium for anything less than that amount. Did Craig Whyte get the £1 he paid David Murry for the club from Tickitus? I doubt even he was so skint. Whyte used most of the tickitus money to pay the 18m debt to lloyds bank in theory consolidating the debt. The rumours going about about tickitus chasing whyte for the debt can't be true as he did put most of the money into Rangers by paying off the debt with the bank. The issue I think is with the previous board a club can't run at a 10m per year deficit and continue in its current form. There has got to be more digging into sir david's running of the club instead of the let's just blame Craig Whyte stories that are constantly in the media.

I will sack my staff if you ban me from the road

Jan 19 2011 Gordon Currie

THE multi-millionaire owner of the "Harrods of the north" escaped a driving ban yesterday after threatening to sack staff if he was put off the roads.
Retail tycoon Mark Birkbeck, 62, persuaded a court that a ban would cause him "exceptional hardship" and claimed he was not in a position to hire a chauffeur.

Birkbeck, who employs 240 people at House of Bruar in Perthshire, was allowed to stay on the roads despite now having 14 points on his licence after being caught speeding.
He was already on 10 points when he appeared yesterday at Perth's Justice of the Peace Court. Getting 12 points would usually have resulted in a lengthy ban.

The Investment firm Ticketus, who helped fund Craig Whyte's takeover last year, had been part of Murray's initial attempts to take control of the 54-time Scottish champions.
But the company have pulled out due to the uncertainty surrounding the financially-stricken club in light of the SFA's 12-month transfer ban.
Nonetheless, reports suggest Murray has been in discussions with Brian Kennedy, owner of Sale Sharks, about forming a new alliance with the possibility of a bid being lodged on Friday.
Rangers manager Ally McCoist said: "I spoke to the administrators this morning and they are very close to getting a deal done with a potential purchaser."
Ticketus are owed £27m by Rangers over the next three years in respect of advance season ticket sales.
Their statement read: "Paul Murray and the Blue Knights have the interests of the club at heart and we wish them well.
"We hope that a swift resolution can be found for the club that will enable it to continue to play a leading role in Scottish football."

ed I have only just realised that although rangeres missed the cut off date for a European License we have still applied to play in europe next season. I thought that this was impossible due to missing the cut off date. when will there be a desicsion made on this, who makes that descision and what are the chances of a positive outcome?? {Ed001's Note - the chances are zero mate, they don't have signed off accounts to make them eligible.}

Tried posting the other day to say Blue Knights had an agreement with Administraters and it would be in within a couple of days. But Ed never posted it. And as for Sandy jardine's comments, the press are twisting them and using words in there headlinbes that he never. And YES he is right to say Rangers will stand against them that stood against us. us . Other clubs never kicked Gretna, Motherwell and Livingston like this when they where down. We will survive and not forget those who treated us bad, as we wont forgot those who treated us well - Dunfermline ! {Ed001's Note - you know I get fed up of liars who say they posted something days ago and yet it somehow didn't get posted, even though it is clearly not true.}

Could it be that Ticketus have citied the main reason for their withdrawal being the SFA sanctions to force their hand into accepting our appeal?

On the Tickets website their statement reads...

''SPL’s ruling and the recent news from the SFA, all of which have affected the value of the Club''

''Consequently Ticketus is no longer able to play a role in the Consortium’s bid for The Rangers Football Club PLC at this stage''

Important part could be ''at this stage''

Don't be surprised if we Ticketus re-enter.

Just a suggestion, never actually heard of this anywhere before, but couldn't the SFA, on appeal, convert the the player registration embargo to more of a suspended sentence instead? certain RFC 'good behaviour' conditions to be met?

It would seem a more appropriate sanction at the moment, with players no longer held on contract and a mass exodus still possible depending on events. More 'helpful' to the process in hand.

How would we feel about that?

Not a rumour, more of a question, if Rangers go into liquidation which seems more and more of a reality and with no new owners on the horizon what happens? Wherever they (rangers ) end up ,newco spl or sfl3 who would be in charge?Would it not be a good idea to get some positive info out of Ibrox before this weekend's game at Parkhead , with all these calls for revenge boycotts , punishment etc from people who should know better, this kind of behavior will only benifit the people who are already against us. ED could you give me your thoughts on these 2 points {Ed001's Note - it is impossible to say. If liquidated, then it will be a new company and a fresh start. It would no longer be Rangers as such, unless they buy the name etc, in which case the rules have recently been clarified to ensure everyone knows where they stand. Rangers would be in the SPL, though they would have to buy or rent Ibrox etc separately. The boycotts are a different matter. I think years of frustration from being charged more for a ticket etc are just boiling over now.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Thanks Ed but I still don't know WHO would be the owner, would Whyte still be there? {Ed001's Note - no, it would be a new company, so it would be owned by whoever set it up.}

I'm not saying that we don't deserve some punishment because we do.

But if the main reason that Ticketus are withdrawing their support for any bid is because of the recent SFA sanctions against us then Ally is right, it is a disgrace.

The Club, not Craig Whyte, not David Murray, are trying to get back onto a steady foundation and the SFA have destroyed any glimmer of hope we had.

Other countries Football Associations support clubs experiencing difficulties, but not the SFA.

Go after Whyte, go after anyone that broke the law, but its fans and club staff that are being punished here.

i am probably going to get 5hit for this but i fully back sanctions against certain spl teams and the SFA for the following reasons

1) they have seen a weakened Rangers and have decided to take full advantage of the situation for their own self interest

2) they are looking to change the rules so Rangers can stay in spl if liquidated but making sure that they get 75% of any prize money tv money Rangers earn. when everyone knows including Rangers Fans we should be made to start in the SFL div 3 this is the right thing to do and would boost the teams in the SFL for a couple of seasons but these SPL teams are changing rules which will deprive SFL teams of much needed income. and all this for their own self interest.

3) they dont give a damn about Rangers or scottish football the only care about the money we generate.

4) they have fleeced us for years with their over inflated ticket prices food and beverage prices.

yes we are down but that does not mean we should allow ourselves to be bullied if these clubs are so outraged about what went on at Rangers then i say do the right thing boot us down to the SFL but we all know they wont cause whats morally right goes out the window when money is involved.

and before all you bleating Celtic fans come on with your Its our own fault we are in this mess well we know that.

Why haven't the Scottish Farcical Association hammered hearts for not paying their players? Shouldn't that result in a transfer embargo? Why should they be allowed the privilege of signing players only to not pay them. The SFA bottled it with them. Now, our wee pal along the road Master Lennon, surely he brings the game into disrepute on a bi-weekly basis (or any time the big green bottle crashes, once again) with his constant conspiracy theories and questioning of referees integrity, yet he only receives a slight tap on the wrist. The punishment handed out to our club is heavy handed and smacks of the SFA bowing to the other SPL teams who seemingly want to kick us while we are down. Be careful what you wish for. Forever in our shadow.

Who is this ed022? I want your name haha!

Drysdale has been a director of this provincial club for more than a decade. He signed the most recent accounts to 30 June 2011.

Here are some extracts:

Loss for the year £162,000 (2010: loss £73,000)
Balance sheet: insolvent to the tune of £1,400,000
This excludes £201,000 of unpaid rent that the landlords have waived for the moment but retain the right to claim later
Net current liabilities £310,000 i.e. it owed more in the short term than it had available
Payroll taxes and VAT outstanding of £78,000 (2010: £118,000), see later for comments on this
Was only able to pay some of its bills because other directors paid in £52,000
Going concern emphasis of matter by the auditors which cast "significant doubt on the company's ability to continue as a going concern"
Disclosure that "the company does not have formal funding facilities in place that allow it to meet its liabilities as they fall due"
Disclosure that a group restructuring took place in 2005, the terms of which were "incorrectly documented" and an "assumed waiver of the loan ... has not in fact been made".
Drysdale owned 0.0003% of the 327,400 ordinary shares and 0.5% of the 10,000 preference shares. If he has made any money in banking, it doesn't appear that he has invested it in football.

Although there were payroll taxes and VAT due at the year end, these weren't necessarily overdue at that time. How £78,000 was paid in full the following month when there was only £27,000 in the bank at 30 June would be a legitimate question to ask?

Likewise the year before, £118,000 taxes due but £44,000 in the bank. In the interests of transparency, perhaps Drysdale would like to make a statement confirming that, during his directorship, Raith Rovers have never been late with any tax payments. If he is sitting in judgement of Rangers on these matters, surely that's the least we can expect?

Ticketus to withdraw funding from Rangers’ takeover bid

27 April 2012 09:20 BST STV online.

Rangers crisis: Ticketus withdraw funding. Pic: © STV
Ticketus is set to announce that it will not fund any takeover bid for Rangers.

It is understood that the tough sanctions imposed on the Ibrox side by the SFA earlier this week were the decisive factor for the company.

A Ticketus source told STV News: “A lot has happened over the last few weeks and, especially after the SFA’s decision, we no longer think we can get a return for our investors.”

Ticketus first came to prominence when it emerged Rangers owner Craig Whyte received £25.3m, with the company buying the rights to 100,000 season tickets for the next four years.

Whyte subsequently used the money to fund his takeover of an 85.3% shareholding of the club, paying off an £18m debt to Lloyds Banking Group.

After Rangers went into administration on February 14, Ticketus started discussions with potential buyers of the club, including the Blue Knights consortium and Singaporean businessman Bill Ng.

The company subsequently became part of the Blue Knights' formal takeover bid for Rangers, which was submitted on April 4.

Listen boys I'm a Celtic fan and I'm 100% serious when I say I'm concerned with what is going to happen to rangers because of the affect it will have on the SPL and mostly i would loath to be without the old firm matches. I love the rivalry and the derby's.

The sanctions as I'm led to believe are set to continue and and it will get worse.

So tell me do you not think that over the last 5 or 6 days everyone has lost sight of the most important thing here and that's saving Rangers?

Forget Sally's comments and if I was one of you I wouldnt even bother reading the whole of jardine's statement.

Guys it's crunch time forget the SFA let them get on with it. Use your energy in a more productive manner because if the last few days is anything to go bye u can be a Passionate bunch and however short sighted a few of u can be if u all pull in the one direction u can achieve something important and special for your club.

I can't tell you what this great concept is, all I know is the last few days has been very counter productive.

Good luck

Not talking conspiracy but is it just a coincidence that after all these years the SPL choose now to want to change the rules on administration and liquidation.
How quick they all are at queuing up to have a kick and make themselves feel important for a while. It wasn't that long ago that other clubs were failing in payments to all concerned, including players and all the powers at be would say is were monitoring the situation. But now it's one of the big two that's in trouble and it's no more monitoring, it's time for sanctions, and not even in accordance with the existing rules, no, lets make up even more rules so we can hit them even harder. I feel this is an attempt to lower Rangers capability within the league without kicking them out of it, thus making it better for them to compete against us without losing the revenue they still need to survive themselves.
Rangers will be saved in one form or another, that I have no doubt about. But when one of the others start to get into difficulty regret will haunt them, because the wrath of there own new sanctions will come back and bite them on the a@se...

Rangers Disciplinary Panel: Was Eric Drysdale Fit And Proper?

Published on Thursday, 26 April 2012 17:54
Written by RangersMedia

Was Eric Drysdale a fit and proper person to sit on the discredited SFA Tribunal and pronounce judgement on the 140 year old institution that is The Rangers?

Let's have a look at some of the companies Drysdale is - or has been - involved with.

Raith Rovers

B&B Limited

Drysdale was a director of B&B Limited when it was dissolved at the instance of the Registrar of Companies on 23 June 2009.

The accounts which he signed in August 2008 state that he had been a director since at least 1 December 2006, contradictory to the above date
Loss for the year of £7,000
I'd love to tell you what the loss was in 2006 but there are no comparative figures in the profit and loss account
Balance sheet insolvent to the tune of £15,000 but no disclosures regarding going concern or ability to continue trading (and indeed it was dissolved less than 12 months later)
It should have submitted its annual return in December 2008, but didn't, this is a breach of the Companies Act for which the current maximum fine is £5,000
Drysdale also signed the accountant's report. What? Since when was he an accountant? What qualifications or experience does he have to sign that? Especially when the accounts contain (or not!) a number of non compliance matters and omissions

Given Drysdale's demand to punish Rangers to the maximum scale and beyond, one wonders whether he feels it would be equitable for him to also have been punished to the maximum for these breaches.

Airdrie

Airdrie supporters remember Drysdale kindly. When the old Airdrie died, and newco Airdrie applied for SFL membership, Drysdale was particularly sympathetic to their cause believing that Airdrie fans had suffered enough. Raith Rovers voted for newco Airdrie, although Gretna won the overall vote. Sympathetic to Airdrie following liquidation, but maximum penalty for Rangers - thanks, Eric.

Independence

On the Raith Rovers website (www.raithrovers.net/directors) Drysdale's primary responsibilities "are the management of cashflow [no laughing at the back], corporate governance [I told you, no laughing] and representation of the club at SFL and SFA meetings". Now we're talking.

So he meets with the SFA. How many meetings with the SFA has he had? Who has he met with? Has anything ever been discussed at any of those meeting which is relevant, directly or indirectly, to the affairs of Rangers? Given the supposed independence of the Judicial Panel, will minutes of those meetings be published? In the intetests of transparency, you understand.

Banker

According to Drysdale's publicly available LinkedIn account, as a Sector Credit Policy Manager at the RBS he has responsibility for setting lending policy for certain key industries including professional football. Having all but bankrupted the country with their policies, the RBS know where they can shove those policies - the same Lawwell orifice in which Regan's tongue allegedly resides. But despite any other perceived failings, even I would find it hard to blame Drysdale for the catastrophic failures at the RBS.

Where does this leave Stewart Regan?

Appointments to the Judicial Panel are made by the Board of the SFA with reference to the Judicial Panel Terms of Reference. I have not been able to find this document on the SFA website. Perhaps in the interests of transparency, Regan should make it publicly available so that we can judge what procedures, including fit and proper tests, are carried out before appointing Panel Members.

Regan did carry out a fit and proper test before Drysdale's appointment, didn't he?

It was reported today that Drysdale was "hand-picked for the tribunal" which is in accordance, under clause 7.2.1 of the Judicial Panel Protocol, where each individual Tribunal is appointed by the Secretary. Who is that? It's Regan of course! So Regan decides exactly who sits in judgement on Rangers.

Regan makes the appointments to each tribunal with reference to the Protocol for Tribunal Appointments. Once again I haven't seen this document and wonder whether Regan, in the interests of transparency, can direct me to its public availability?

We could ask Stewart Regan on Twitter for access to these documents, but, ever transparent, he blocks Rangers supporters who ask difficult - and often not so difficult - questions.

Rangers fans may now have zero confidence in Drysdale's fitness to serve on the Judicial Panel. And even less confidence in Regan's (hopefully soon-to-end) tenure as Lawwell's useful idiot. That is completely transparent.

There are so many points wrong with your statement I'll keep it short though, to bring drysdales clubs finances into this is ludicrous, sure they have financial troubles like almost EVERY company in the recession but the have not deliberately withheld Taxes due and used this money as operating costs, they are operating within the credit limit they have.
To say that he had sympathy to airdrie and gave Rangers maximum penalty is wrong the maximum penalty for bringing the game into disrepute is expulsion, it may be a blow to be given the penalty but in no way is it unjust.
Just a question I have asked several times but has never been posted for some reason, what punishment do you believe is fair for the wrong doings of the club? {Ed001's Note - it has been posted hundreds of times, just because you haven't spotted it, doesn't mean it is not there.}

Celtic fan here, Rangers wont die, the old company might, but Rangers wont. Any business which has, for arguments sake guys, 50,000 fans willing to pay £300 a year to watch the team is a wonderfully viable business.
Business is business and liquidation is the very best business decision here, under the laws of our land. New co, new Rangers, no debt, the aforementioned 50,000 bears = happy days. With the new financial fair play rules both old firm could be huge and a well run Rangers with no debt could be massive.
So the problem is two fold, one you lose your corporate history and yes theoretically the titles etc but if we are honest who remembers that? When they are commentating on Rangers in four years time in Europe they will mention that this is the first time back and then move on, the commentators will call them Rangers. In year 5 they wont even mention it.
The second problem is us in the East, we will mock you forever, again, so whit we do anyway coz you look funny and refuse employment (i'm kidding i'm kidding) but that will only last till you raise a league flag because thats all that matters in any one season.
If, as many of you honest fans have suggested, you pay back every penny of debt over time, you will be honourable and praised throughout the world but financially and footballwise (i know its not a word but at least its not youse) for far far far longer. It will not matter who you could sign because you wont be able to afford it.
So..... assuming you take the slagging and the theoretical loss of history, you are in quite a rosy position and this is a likely course of action, should you not be hammered for it? Should the SFA not absolutely launch the book at you? In my opinion they haven't and it has not prejudiced anything but has provided a convenient excuse to these joke bidders.
I dearly hope Sunday goes off with a rowdy footballing bang sans any lasting reports of injured humanity.
Like i said, i'm a Celtic fan so of course i'm biased but i'm not dhim and i dont want Rangers gone from my life, i loves me old firm days and if for three seasons i had to put up with Celtic pumping you off the park, i would suffer it and accept that it is short lived and part of the cycle of success.

Ed can you confirm the exact ruling within the SFA Constitution that covers any decision that relates to a Signing Embargo.
Also can you confirm if the rule was part of the constitution at the start of this season,as no other club has ever been given a similar sanction (yes i know Dundee had a signing embargo ,but that was while they were in administration not as has been issued to Rangers who have been handed a sanction that will still apply even if they come out of administartion. {Ed001's Note - it is in here: http://www.scottishfa.co.uk/football_document_libraries.cfm?page=2569 won't take you long to find the relevant section I am sure.}
