27 Aug 2018 20:21:48
I wasn't a huge fan of murphy but he was part of a system that worked. that's why he will be replaced like for like with midleton as back up. hope we are still undefeated this time next week.

27 Aug 2018 20:35:27
agreed deecee, didn't think he warranted a 1.8 million fee if it was that. for me flattered to decieve, now looks like waste of transfer fee, will bw 1year out, then got to get fit. not a great buy for me. london jock.

27 Aug 2018 21:55:23
Jamie Murphy was only £850,000 and he's an influential figure He's well worth the money! Middleton is nowhere near a first team player yet Not smart enough
I admit he is direct and fast but I see him as a one trick pony I was hoping to see a little more tricks!

Gerrard is doing well with him and giving him some game time here and there

He is not quite ready or good enough for a full game yet, although I'm sure it will come as he is a young player!

27 Aug 2018 22:10:58
How’s it waist?
He’s f#& (n injured! Through no fault of his own. jeez oh!
How about engaging brain before typing ya 🤡.

27 Aug 2018 22:12:45
murphy cost more than 850,000,get your figures correct at least, middleton young boy with great potential and the future, the fact at 18 involved around 1st team squad says something. feel for murphy will he be missed. flatters to decieve, as a said will be out for year plus not a good trandfer. london jock.

27 Aug 2018 22:31:42
Like holster said you are a grade A 🤡.

27 Aug 2018 22:48:18
Since starting to play for us Jamie Murphy has played 21 games in total, scored 5 and had 8 assists. That means he’s been directly involved in 13 goals in 21 games. Not a bad return, especially considering how bad we were last season. He may not beat 3 or 4 players at a time but he is effective at playing a decisive ball. No one knows exactly the figure we paid for him but it was thought to be around the million mark. And of course no one could predict he’d get so badly injured so it’s nonsense to state he’s a bad signing, does that mean that every player that ever gets a long term injury is a bad signing?
(Ps, you do realise your name already appears under your post? )

27 Aug 2018 22:57:32
In his first 25 games for is he was responsible for 20 goals. Not a bad return if you ask me.

27 Aug 2018 19:07:00
Never seen him play or heard of him but one thing is for sure the people picking the targets this year is a totally different from the last three time to trust the men behind the team.

27 Aug 2018 19:40:59
Very good player very skillful.

27 Aug 2018 18:14:24
hi fellow bears, it seems we are being linked with quite a few wingers to replace Murphy, so who would you want from these?

1 jordan jones
2 eros grezda
3 rolando aarons
4 nathan dyer
5 an other?

thoughts bears? could we have a poll please ed.

Rangers Winger Poll

27 Aug 2018 18:29:16
Got to be Glezga surely!

27 Aug 2018 18:32:39
Will be a done deal on wednesday for glezga.

27 Aug 2018 18:53:06
Anyone seen Grezda play? I haven't seen him play . Personally I think Dyer would be an outstanding player for us.

27 Aug 2018 19:06:42
Yeah he's a great player 👌.

27 Aug 2018 19:21:27
U take in many Croatian league matches Jacksonrfc, because that’s the only place u would of seen him.

27 Aug 2018 19:47:53
Yeah i seen him play for his country againsy turkey in friendly and he also scored in that match he was good! TRUST ME he's GOOD 😊.

27 Aug 2018 21:18:14
The old one as you’ve all heard I seen him on you tube and he does look decent. He will do us a turn as well as turn boyata n tierney inside out.

27 Aug 2018 17:55:43
Why are there guys on here pointing towards the formation being the reason we only got a draw? It was 2 set pieces and a double slip from Goldson and McGregor that cost us goals. Formation had nothing to do with the set piece strikes.
If anything, the formation brought us 3 goals after being behind twice.
We lost the last goal due to being too deep and inviting big physical guys into our goal area was thus negating our forward players and not being able to get the ball down and retain possession.

27 Aug 2018 18:40:04
Substitution Barisic for Middleton.

27 Aug 2018 19:26:10
If we played the same system we have been playing, we would have dominated the match. Motherwell wouldn't have been in the positions they got into! The wouldn't have had us pegged back for most of second half building constant pressure that resulted in them grabbing the equaliser! But hey move on to next game and learn from it. Only my opinion but we seemed to be building a team for the pressing game that we adopted and I hope we revert back to it as it suits us better #letsgo.

27 Aug 2018 19:52:13
If we'd played the formation and style we'd been using up till now we would have had a better grip on the game and wouldn't have conceded as many. Might not have scored the 3 we did either so mute point. We had to try that fomation out as on paper we have the players to do it and it keeps thing fresh going into a busy week. Sure we'll revert to the 4 3 3. Hopefully we get this winger, add a back up centre back and we're fit to fight.

27 Aug 2018 16:46:54
Gerrard's Rangers Record:

Rangers 2 - 0 Shkupi (W)
Shkupi 0 - 0 Rangers (D)

Rangers 3 - 0 Wigan (W)
Rangers 1 - 1 Osijek (D)
Aberdeen 1 - 1 Rangers (D)
Rangers 3 - 1 Maribor (W)
Rangers 2 - 0 St Mirren (W)
Maribor 0 - 0 Rangers (D)
Kilmarnock 1 - 3 Rangers (W)
Rangers 1 - 0 Ufa (W)
Motherwell 3 - 3 Rangers (D)

New manager, new team. Think people should chill about yesterdays result.

27 Aug 2018 17:24:25
also beat a welsh side 3-1.

27 Aug 2018 17:25:45
Bearmode when u see it like that it is impressive from us so far. looks like more games than we've actually played.

27 Aug 2018 17:30:27
You miss the point Bear the previous 12 games we conceded 4 goals, he changes the system and we ship 3 in one game.

27 Aug 2018 17:32:00
I think we all know what the results have been since he took over and no one is saying for 1 minute that he isn’t doing a good job. I am just baffled how players like Halliday are near the squad and why Tavernier can’t do the basics and mark someone. He has been guilty of this since he signed and it has cost us in a few big games.

27 Aug 2018 17:38:04
I was more disappointed in the way we set up yesterday but think its because stevie has set standards so high so far no one was expecting that performence from the defence but on the plus side if it hada been last season there woulda been no fight to get back in the game.

27 Aug 2018 17:44:28
Well if you have that sort of record in the league that's 32 points from possible 42 points (That's including 3-1 against TNS), the annoying thing is that if not for last kick goals against the sheep and motherwell we would be joint top, however 2 more draws this week would be acceptable, a draw and then a win and I will not make work on Monday lol.

27 Aug 2018 17:49:01
Jyf, you miss the point actually.

The point is overall Gerrard has done better than anybody ever expected. We are one game away from Europa league group stages, when I was at the game on Thursday I actually said to myself I didn’t expect us to get this far.

The improvement has been fantastic, yes we played poorly yesterday but its the bigger picture you need to look at. 3 goals in one game, which fatigue most definitely played a part in, however we have 5 clean sheets in Europe.

27 Aug 2018 17:50:51
ArthurD, Halliday was one of the best players on the park yesterday.

27 Aug 2018 18:19:25
Bearmode agree with you, we are doing fine. Games in Europe cost us on a Sunday. We will get there. Squad much better than last year.

27 Aug 2018 18:36:58
bearmode why are you even waisting your breath reasoning with Arfur. He knows absolutely heehaw about football. Halliday was one of our best players yesterday and he still slates him. Nugget!
I'm out.

27 Aug 2018 18:44:14
Said it yesterday guys, this is one testing week and we must get through on Thursday and if Tim’s beat us we will have 5 points from 12?✌️🇬🇧.

27 Aug 2018 19:09:03
After 3 league games only 3 teams have a worse defensive record. Need a big improvement, the entire defence including the goalkeeper were poor yesterday.

27 Aug 2018 19:26:58
Europa League group stages is worth 7m to us Yately, it’s a tough one but I have to say Thursday is more important. Rangers need European football and the domestic season has only just kicked off.

I can’t actually believe I’m having to defend our team which is unbeaten after 7 games in Europe and 4 games domestically.

I give up. Any of you ever been to Ibrox btw?

27 Aug 2018 19:30:35
My point is Bear, the 3 at the back was a disaster and if we play that next week we will be destroyed. One game with 3 at the back 3 goals conceded 22 shots in at our goal so how you can say that its fine because we played great before we changed the system baffled me.

27 Aug 2018 19:35:13
And what about Europe Bankie? You forgetting the 7 European games we’ve played in less than a month? Soon to be 8?

We were also shafted 10 mins into the Aberdeen game.

27 Aug 2018 19:54:30
Bearmode pre 9 in a row, 9 in a row, from Buckie Thistie to QOTS. We are on a web site giving our opinion no more than that, your opinion is that the formation was fine yesterday mine is that it cost us the game. We all go to the games to support the team putting our opinions on this site makes no difference to how the team plays. Do you just go along with everything or do you occasionally see something that you don't agree with?

27 Aug 2018 20:47:28
Jyf.

The point in me posting every game in Gerrards reign so far was to show you the bigger picture. At no point did I say yesterday was fine.

No team is perfect and ours has only been together for less than 2 months. How do you know he will continue to use that system.

27 Aug 2018 22:13:35
Bearmode, I wasn’t having a go at the team and just stating facts and I also want Europa football although I do believe Thursdays game actually cost us at Motherwell with fatigue! You were also asking me if I go to games in which I certainly do and have been for 40 years! 🇬🇧.

28 Aug 2018 01:20:51
Wasn’t meaning you Yately! Your point was valid and made sense I was just debating with you👍🏼.

28 Aug 2018 05:11:25
Let’s meet this week head on BearMode and hopefully Stevie G will guide us through, as making the Europa League would be wonderful! And then worry about the piggery✌️🇬🇧🇬🇧.

27 Aug 2018 16:24:59
Big Sadiq got a brace against St Mirren, hopefully give the bag man a little confidence boost to see him get a couple more.

27 Aug 2018 16:39:34
Big man*.

27 Aug 2018 17:36:07
Let’s hope so hopefully he will kick in and prove to be a good loan signing.

27 Aug 2018 17:46:50
Seemingly Gerrard is very concerned over the state of his fitness (or lack of it) and that's why Roma officials were over at the weekend to hold talks about the loan.

27 Aug 2018 16:21:11
Wallace 45
Mccrorie 60
Sadiq 90 and two goals as under 20 win 5-1.

27 Aug 2018 15:02:09
Really disappointed about yesterday change of formation it showed Gerrards inexperience why change something that works but we have to expect that from someone new to management so let's just hope he learns from it and makes up for it this week with 2 good results and we get get behind him and the team were going have blips on the road its how we come back for them that matters.
Let's Go 55#.

27 Aug 2018 15:40:10
We will have to accept some mistakes from him this season. I thought the changes against Aberdeen cost us, and then the changes yesterday. He is inexperienced. He should learn from these mistakes. Far more good than bad though. Not many new managers have to deal with the pressures of a club like rangers, and playing Thursday and Sunday every week. Still unbeaten!

27 Aug 2018 16:09:57
If he hadn’t made the changes (most likely the way Pedro and warbs wouldn’t have done) and still dropped points you would have been in saying he was like them, to scared to change come on admit it. changesvdont always work but sometimes they do. Stevie wasn’t to kn Wallace even although 6.3 is a pussycat and couldn’t tackle a fish supper
Or have a hope in hell of a defensive headed clearance.

27 Aug 2018 17:18:27
I argee he has made far more good than but yesterday you could see it didn't suit goldson or Flanagan playing in a back 3 or tav futher up and definitely would never insult stevie by saying he was like pedro or warbs he's proved he's a class above them already.

27 Aug 2018 17:25:39
Molsgoals good to see Wallace. Has grown two inches since he got injured. Mb help him head theball.

27 Aug 2018 17:34:23
Absolutely Molsgoals, he took ah chance, to change things, it did not work, but I'm sure he will learn from it.
Points was lost by bad defending, and maybe ah bit of bad goalkeeping, freekick and there equaliser was avoidable if guy where doing there jobs, first goal ah slip by goldson and shagger just unlucky.

27 Aug 2018 18:30:44
I agree with Ted Rangers, wrong subs used at Aberdeen, and 3,5,2 can be tried but not against well, too many big guys, learning experience for team and management. Reality check for all, but miles better than previous years . Let go 55.

27 Aug 2018 23:12:21
JBoy it was Stevie who said he was 6 ft 3 so maybe you should have it oot wi him. if Stevie says he’s 6. 3 he’s 6.3 even if it’s in heels and he’s 5.10 . any mare if it Coulibaly will be round to see you and you will be 3.6 🤗.

27 Aug 2018 12:47:00
Hearing Leviien heart attack this morning, speedy recovery to him.

27 Aug 2018 14:48:08
I'm with you jboy21. I would not wish that on anyone. I wish him a speedy recovery, and wish all his family well.

27 Aug 2018 14:55:39
Knew he was recovering in hospital but didn’t know what from, all the best to big Levein, hopefully see him back in the dugout soon enough!

27 Aug 2018 14:59:43
Totally agree!

Hope the guy recovers.

27 Aug 2018 12:37:22
I think with recent results (barring yesterday) we all have gotten a wee bit too excited, and rightly so. Since Stevie g has came in we have looked a much better side. But I think we all need to understand that things take time. I think at the start of the season we would have all taken a europa league group spot and atleast run Celtic close for the title. Atm all is looking well as far as I'm concerned. It's still early days and apart from yesterday. The defence is looking solid and we're looking better as a unit. We were never going to win every game. At the end of the day we're still unbeaten which is more than the "champions" can say. A solid performance on Thursday night needed and we have European football back at Ibrox! Things are looking up. Rome wasn't built in a day. In Stevie g we trust. #letsgo.

27 Aug 2018 13:44:47
Agree. Before the season kicked off I doubted we'd make the Europa group stages, now I reckon we're favourites to be there. Gerrard did get a few things wrong yesterday but you can already see that, just a short time into the job, that he's tactically miles ahead of Pedro, Ally etc with all their far greater experience.

PS. No Ryan Jack in the Scotland squad. Disapointing.

27 Aug 2018 14:16:08
Geronimo, know what your saying but let's keep him fit.

27 Aug 2018 15:06:12
No Ryan Jack in the Scotland squad is great news. Needs the rest.

27 Aug 2018 15:29:43
Not sure he has done enough to be included in the squad but who cares as it’s better to have the time off.

27 Aug 2018 17:55:46
No Ryan Jack in that squad is good. May the SFA and the tartan trannies rot in hell.

27 Aug 2018 23:15:17
Get yer feet up Ryan and watch them get a humping.

27 Aug 2018 12:20:02
Big decision to go with 3 at the back at the weekend hink it back fired would have skelped them with our usual line up. big loss in term of momentum and going into the old firm top. Europe will be biillant for the team but to compete in this and the league will be a big ask if we qualify we need a more players in definitely 3 or 4.

27 Aug 2018 15:45:20
Great post Dunoonbluebear SG will make mistakes but he will get it right the more experienced he gets. The defence this season is night and day from last year plus there's more fight in team.

27 Aug 2018 12:56:49
I heard that Celtic were trying to sign Filip Benkovic a croatian international defender

Why don't we try sign him if we are needing defensive reinforcements

Surely we would have the upper hand known he has two of his compatriots here with us already?

He'd probably be the best yet

Shouldn't we be going for better quality if the opportunity is there? And not to just make the numbers because we can be short in that department?!

It's about making the team as strong as possible Yeah?

27 Aug 2018 12:55:44
Some on here needing a reality check. We drew a game of football against a side who had 3 battering rams plus their CHs attacking every ball into our box in the last 20 mins.

We are night and day from where we were last season.
We are still undefeated in all competitions this season.
We have a great chance of progressing to the group stages of they EL! Could anybody see that at the start of the season?
Factor in a new management team and squad and I would say we are doing all right.

Keep the faith and let’s stop analysing/ picking the team to pieces after every game.
Yes it’s 2 points dropped but we don’t have a devine right to win every game.
Let’s Go! 🔴⚪️🔵.

27 Aug 2018 13:19:54
UJ, everything you say is fair and correct. However, I've been saying on here for a couple of games some our players look knackered already! We've only played 3 league games! . Defensively if we do not have enough quality to play the game in the Motherwell half then to me that's worrying, especially as we seem suspect at the typical high ball game that most Scottish teams play.
Let's get Thursday dealt with first and let's hope that was our 'bad' one out the way.

27 Aug 2018 12:57:11
Why are people saying we are still suspect at the back?

Out backline has been superb until today and it is because we changed the formation to only 3 at the back!

Must admit Tavernier was mince today but he was playing further up the park and he isn't the best at defending at times anyway so what did people expectod him playing further up the park?

27 Aug 2018 14:27:55
Tavernier should just do his Job Defend Simple.

27 Aug 2018 12:54:04
First time poster here so go easy. Don't get me wrong I am fully behind Gerrard and I think he is the right man for the job but I think he showed his inexperience as a manager today. Why play an untested system against a team like Motherwell, a team that was clearly going to be fully up for it after the controversy surrounding the comments of there captain this week, I understand the game against Ufa this week will have had something to do with his team selection today but he must have known Motherwell where going to turn up despite them having no points from there first two games.

Goldson clearly didn't feel comfortable playing in a back three, if we had played with a back four I think we would have won today, for me the league is more important than Europe and we could still be ahead of Celtic today if we had played a different system. Again I fully support Gerrard but I feel he was a bit naive with his system today because Motherwell were bottom of the league before kick off. What are your thoughts bears?

27 Aug 2018 12:46:27
I haven't felt nervous or worried about playing Celtic or seeing out a game once this season but for me we rode our luck today 2 deflected goals and never looked in control of that game dodgy at the back for the first time. Stupid time to change formation with 2 massive games coming up. For me Gerrard must shoulder the blame.

27 Aug 2018 20:38:26
Gents
We have a new team (mostly) and a new coaching staff. All of whom are working hard to put rangers back to where they once were
There is lessons to be learned by all.
Personally, I think we are in a much better place than anyone could have foreseen, the team are playing well, the board have dug deep. there looks to be a few players we could make a tidy profit from in the future, even some of the existing players are performing. This should all bode well for the future. We are not the finished article . how much better than the last few years. the atmosphere at Ibrox is brilliant, the crowd (mostly) are enjoying watching.
This is a good time for rangers, expectations are high as they should be and there is a glimmer that good things are coming.
Thirsday night draw/ win moves us forward considerably, a draw with the mankies at parkplukehead is perfectly acceptable at this time a win would be brilliant
Keep believing, ready, let’s go.

Premier League Previews 27 August 2018 Manchester United v Tottenham Hotspur

27 Aug 2018 12:17:00
{Ed's Note - Reid the Red has posted a new article entitled, Premier League Previews 27 August 2018 Manchester United v Tottenham Hotspur

27 Aug 2018 11:56:11
Is it just me who struggles to see what arfield contributes
Not convinced?

27 Aug 2018 12:17:15
If Arfield had been playing against Motherwell we might have won.

27 Aug 2018 12:23:37
No, I am not convinced and yesterday he contributed nothing. What is more, we lost the midfield when Halliday went off. I never thought I would say it but I would have Halliday in the team ahead of Arfield. Could be he is just taking longer to settle in or perhaps he had forgotten that teams like Kilmarnock, Motherwell etc., don't play football and he has been spoiled in the EPL!

27 Aug 2018 12:29:51
He only came on for 10 minutes get a grip what do you want him to do score a hat trick behave with the ridiculous negativity.

27 Aug 2018 12:38:19
Aye it must just be you.

27 Aug 2018 12:44:48
Been one of our best signings imo. Massive player for us.

27 Aug 2018 23:21:13
Arfield is a great player and just could get the pace on Sunday. he has been and will be colous for us Arfield —Jack - and Coulibaly will make they teams the fear tae swally.

27 Aug 2018 10:33:33
Disappointed but still encouraged by SG's revolution at Ibrox. Change of formation certainly contributed to the result but Tavernier's man-marking caused two of their goals. I think we'll do it on Thursday, especially if grab an early goal, then it is on to Sunday at the piggery. I'm looking forward to seeing the team SG plays against the unwashed, subject to injuries. Barisic, Morelos and Couilbaly could cause them lots of problems. Keep believing fellow Bears, we are way ahead of where I thought we'd be under new management an almost entirely new team.

27 Aug 2018 10:59:27
Said it before I feel every goal we lose Tav gets the blame. The third goal was keepers fault imo. Any cross two yards out is keeper territory. I know Tav isn't the best defender but I think it's getting to the stage when we lose a goal some people have got him guilty.

27 Aug 2018 10:59:46
i like the formation 3.5,2 but with 3 recognised centre backs, flanagan is not a centre back. imagine if we had mcauley or worrel playibg yesterday. would have been a different result, stevie got it wrong yesterday with personel. need more bodies and quality ones at that.

27 Aug 2018 11:32:40
Jaws he let his man go twice, I agree McGregor should of come for cross but Tavernier lost his man.

27 Aug 2018 11:42:42
Tavernier definitely to blame for second goal and was sleeping at third. Good going forward but has always been suspect defensively and although creates chances, he costs us goals on a regular basis and always has. His game management is poor (see getting caught trying to dribble out of his own box in 93rd minute against UFA when game was won and row Z was correct option) . He has his good points and is great going forward but has always been exploited against Celtic and I would go for Flannigan at RB on Sunday.

27 Aug 2018 11:52:04
i don't know why we changed defensive system, the old saying if its no broke don't try and fix it, i felt that both Katic and Goldson had there worst games for us and i think its because they were both uncomfortable with the new system, they have both been great for us, i hope they revert back to the regular way we play, i do think though that the Well deserved there draw so it could be a good point and in fact Sky sports were saying that Gerards good run continues still undefeated, saying it like that sounds better.

27 Aug 2018 12:27:45
There was contributory negligence for that third goal to a number of people, McGregor should have done better, so should Tav and the substitution should never have been made at a corner. Earlier substitutions were also a contributory factor since both Halliday and Barisic were well in control and I suspect that we would not have lost the corner had they still been on the park, (or if Candelas had been brought on rather than Arfield)!

27 Aug 2018 10:24:38
Might just be me being forever the optimist, but does anybody feel like yesterday's lapse in concentration for our defence (which has been outstanding for the most part) might have given them a reminder/ shake for Thursday and Sunday?

May have come at the right time instead of Thursday!

It's a long season, 5 clean sheets in Europe is stuff of miracles compared to the guff we put up with last season. Put yesterday behind us and learn our lessons 💪🏼.

27 Aug 2018 11:13:17
Bear mode Stevie commented something like that . He said we were getting too complacent and believing the hype and that result will make the players think again. here’s hopin.

27 Aug 2018 09:37:43
Morning all
Notice game on thursday is 3pm ko so before i rearrange work schedule does anyone know if it is on tv?

27 Aug 2018 09:52:41
Should be on Rangers TV mate, possibly Prem Sports will pick it up also.

27 Aug 2018 10:01:58
Don’t think anyone has taken the game so far however Premier Sports may show it.

27 Aug 2018 10:22:04
Prob on russian tv hesgoal u get the game there on line.

27 Aug 2018 09:04:01
Yesterday was poor game management defended way too deep allowing them. to. bombard us we should have been more positive and went for more goals in the 2nd half hopefully we ll learn how to manage games better
Thoughts?

27 Aug 2018 09:38:44
Agree but it has been 1 bad game out of handful. Frustrating to lose a goal so late especially after we did it against the sheep aswell. It was the subs that baffled me, obviously Wallace coming on at the end in my view wasn’t great and Arfield couldn’t get up to speed quick enough and correct me if I am wrong but did Middleton even touch the ball? Felt we should have taken off a striker at 70 minutes and put another body into the midfield.

On the plus side it is still a point and it was good to see Laff get a few goals with some nice touches. I thought Ejaria had a good game again also but would be nice to have Lassana back for the upcoming games to complement the midfield. Once thing to note Barisic was quality and has great delivery, I think he will terrorise Lustig or Gamboa on Sunday so I expect to see Celtic play with almost two full backs in the RB position on Sunday.

Think most of us fans are doing the same as gerrard says expecting too much too soon . We are miles ahead of where we should be brand new squad and coaching staff and on the verge of reaching group stages in Europe and not lost a game yet . We will struggle in games this season that's football and these things happen. But the mentality of just turning up against rangers and getting something is long gone regardless of how we do against them or if we get into the groups I am more than happy with how far we have come . #letsgo.

{Ed's Note - Ed001 has posted a new article entitled, Review Of The Day 27th August 2018

Really don't get the negativity around the 352. If you look at all the goals Motherwell scored yesterday, 2 were from set plays and 1 from a freak piece of bad luck. It's the set play defending that should be looked at, not the formation.

The problem in open play for me was that Tav got beat for pace and allowed crosses into the box far more than he should have, being the winger in a 352 doesn't release you of your defending duties which yesterday Tav seemed to think it did. and don't get me started on his defending of the 2 set plays.

I did however think that having more players further up the park allowed us to create a lot more chances, barasic fits that role on the left perfectly: attacks well going forward and still does his job defensively.

Why Gerrard is making that substitution so late in the game whilst we are about to take a corner is beyond me. All for the sake of showing sentiment to Wallace, who I don't personally believe many fans are fussed about whether he plays again. No point in saying let's get the shock out of our system before next week, like Gerrard has said the league is won and lost in all the games outside the old firm and that yesterday is two cheap unnecessary points dropped in the league.

Let's shake ourselves off and do the job on Thursday! This could be a make or break week for us!

Totally agree with that post 4EverBlue, we conceded 9 corners yesterday and had few scrambles inside our box also which could have resulted in goals, as a defensive unit we were poor and don’t remember a clear cut chance for us in the 2nd half.

27 Aug 2018 08:39:54
Yeah I think sometimes when we have a lead we can be guilty of sitting too deep and inviting pressure, like the last 10 minutes of yesterday. if we just keep hoofing the ball up rather than looking to play out and keep the ball, we just keep on inviting attacks.

I'll eat my own words when I say I thought halliday was brilliant yesterday, and taking both him and barasic off were mistakes in my opinion.

27 Aug 2018 09:15:14
Halliday was brilliant yesterday? Exactly what did he do that was so brilliant? Messi and Ronaldo are brilliant. Halliday was a total passenger in the second half and did nothing.

27 Aug 2018 09:47:14
Have to disagree with you completely Arthur.

So because none of our players are world class, we now cannot say they have been brilliant? never knew they were being benchmarked against guys worth 100s of millions.

I thought halliday was great at breaking up play yesterday and his passing was pretty decent too. You were watching a completely different game if you thought he was any more of a passenger than Arfield who was subbed on for him in the 68th minute.

Another guy who just loves to stick the boot into halliday for no reason. What does the guy need to do just to get pass marks with some folk.

27 Aug 2018 10:40:50
Arthur wrong to single out halliday as a passenger he was as effective as anyone in that mid field. every team needs a halliday he'd play in goals if asked think its OTT the slaughtering he gets on here. i'm first to admit i had a morelos blindspot but he's proved me wrong and I've admitted it on numerous occasions think you're the same with halliday he could be man of match in OF and some on here still wouldn't acknowledge it.

27 Aug 2018 12:59:59
ArthurD Go and support THEM

Halliday broke up the play and made vital interceptions throughout the match including a clearance from under the crossbar, which came about because he was stuck to his man like glue. He didn't put a foot wrong, and even after picking up a knock still put in 4 or 5 challanges. You are a complete Arse. Stop using Halliday as a scapegoat.

27 Aug 2018 02:18:03
Watching the highlights again. Tavernier not tracking the runner for the 2nd goal and then letting the runner go for the 3rd criminal defending. that's why he's not a premier league defender. Simply not good enough.

27 Aug 2018 09:17:02
RfC Chris

This is nothing new though and he has been at fault for these types of goals all throughout his time at the club. It amazes me that a professional footballer can’t do a basic task like mark someone.

27 Aug 2018 10:02:00
Agree Arthur d, that's why going forward not the standard we require.
He costs us so many points.

26 Aug 2018 22:06:44
Will take the draw today, with the whole season in front of us and two important games coming up. Getting into the group stages and beating Celtic is more important this week at least. Always room to improve.

27 Aug 2018 00:16:06
What abouts greegs punching Hartley on the grund - madness was a straight red.

27 Aug 2018 02:19:09
That never happened.
