Why not play 4-3-3 Alexander, Hegarty, Perry, McCulloch, Wallace, McKay, Hutton, MacLeod, Shiels, Sandazza, Little. Tbh I just think the manager and his tactics aren't good enough, and the player don't look interested. Wat use think bears? Gowdy54 {The Ed039's Note - You would never be able to play McKay in a 3 man midfield)

For me I agree with Hegarty Perry Mculloch & Wallace should be the

i agree witht he ED and I also don't think hegarty should be playing right back.

I know he is not the greatest but from what I have seen the Greek boy is the best we have at the moment for right back position. Hegarty hardly ever gets forward, whereby the Greek is up and down the pitch all day and he is pacy also.

It aren't hegarty's fault he is at right back, you can blame out inept manager for that and all the other players he plays out of position.

Agree5 Disagree2

Wouldn't have sandaza anywhere near the team, he's as much use as a chocolate teapot.

Agree5 Disagree3

That half written post there was mine last night I think the back 4s good like that i'd like to see Aird on one side of midfield Temps the other Mcleod Hutton in the middle & Barry Mckay with Andy Little or Sandaza up front 4-4-2 back to basics to play these very basic teams! Takes me back to last season when Aluko was unplayable off big Jig upfront we could try the same with Mckay is even the simplest tactical changes like this outwith Allys creative Ability as a manager?

Larky Bear

Agree6 Disagree3

Ally's pathetec rant at players, " they better not switch off or they will be switched off for good". How is that going to work Ally, have you suddenly got more players available and has the signing embargo been lifted. Bottom line is you have not got a clue and can do nothing with the squad you have. Time to go Rangers legend or not, John Greig was sacked for less! One up front against 3rd division teams. You can say it is a young squad but these guys have been at Murray Park for years. There are younger guys playing in the premiership every week. Just as young or younger in Spl. Something is rotten here and unfortunately until the coachiing staff are changed it will continue to get worse. McCoist must go with Durranty and McDowell. Bring in proffesionalism and hard work, not just one of the lads.

Agree21 Disagree3

Sorry larky bear I have to disagree with your central midfield, Hutton has one major flaw in his game, he has no pace and will be found out easily at a higher level and Macleod has done little to convince me yet, he disappears for long periods in a game

This is the first area we must strengthen in September

What a weekend for the fa cup -

Liverpool, spurs, qpr and norwich all out to the hands of lower league opposition.

Added to that a strong chelsea struggled for a draw and arsenal just squeezed by their lower league opponents. {The Ed039's Note - Thats why people from all over the world tune into the FA Cup)

Next Saturday I'd rather we attack from the start than try to defend as we'll get pumped as our defence is not solid enough. So come on Ally grow a pair of balls and lets go at them if we get beat then at least we had a go and any way no one expects us to win let's give them hell as the banner said yesterday

you lot that go on about ally out don't no your a--- from your elbow . time to grow up and be a realist .what happened to rangers was like a bomb blast and it will take a lot of time to get it sorted and on a level . so shut up and support ally he is the manager . and you moaning lot are you sure you are SUPPORTERS

BEAR1959 {The Ed039's Note - I think you might be just a wee bit off on that one, you look at Ally's record as a coach, and you tell me if any other coach would have still had your backing? I dont think so. Nobody is disputing his loyalty or his legend, it is his coaching credentials, which are poor)

Believable15 Unbelievable22

Ally must go, even in junior football(not much worse level ) would he still be in a job. Our younger players are supposed to be the cream of the crop or was Murray park a complete waste of time. All other teams young guns look so much more talented than rangers. Either the coaching is awful or mccoist has not got a clue. Either way he is in charge and we are going nowhere. Time to to do the honourable thing and resign. Do not just sit there and just because Celtic get beaten think no one is still thinking you have not got a clue. Winning the third division is no great thing. You are expected to win every game and comfortably.

Terry butcher turned down a job in the championship to stay with calie thistle, what makes you think he would take over from ally, but btw levien needs a job. Would be perfect for you guys, anyway that's the only transfer rumour you guys got to talk about. I'm off over to my own side to decide if Hooper is worth 8 or 10 million {The Ed039's Note - So is his value the same after that, as for slaggin managers, what happened to your bottle today? And before you all come on asking for me to be hung, dont dish it out if you cant take it back)

ED039 it will be interesting if you post this as you seem to have a problem answering my posts.
First of all well done St Mirren they deserved it.
But Ed039 and your fellow fans all this gloating today shows all you have is to live vicariously off any Celtic defeat.
Are you pleased with your OWN team's displays?
What about Ally for manager of the season?
What happened to all these 10-0 wins you were gloating about or even beating wee Gretna to the fastest title.
I have my tickets for the Juventus game, when will you even be able to buy a ticket for the Champions League again. Timalloy {The Ed039's Note - If you dont like it then dont post Timalloy, if you read the posts you would see my dismay at our own result yesterday, but put yourself on this end and you think of all the gloating posts that came through here yesterday, I think I am entitled to gloat back, and living vicariously off a Rangers or Celtic defeat is what we do, not only over the last year but going back years and years, thats what makes Rangers and Celtic rivals)

Agree14 Disagree4

@6 you got beat in a semi final, one you were expected to win, Lennon's 5th defeat at Hampden. Hoodoo you think you are?

Agree8 Disagree6

I was going to have a bite ed but after reading your note on the last post I will just say fair enough.

There's was a lot of gloating from Celtic fans on here yesterday and we just have to take our medicine. I also think some of my fellow Celts have to remember were we are actually posting here!! I mean what can we expect? Its fair game if you ask me. I'm not angry at you or the other bears on here. I'm angry because our bottle crashed today, and i'm fed up because of it. Keepers a nightmare, Mulgrew had a rare shocker, Sammi was frustrating as hell and Lassad was a joke and should have been replaced at half time. We shouldn't have got our penalty, there's was a stone waller. We missed chances, they didn't! barring the Thompson miss which would have unbelievably had them 4-1 up. That tells you it all really. Wondered onto the park and started at a pedestrian pace while they're attitude was excellent, worked they're socks off and rightfully deserved they're place in the final. Raging about it, but hey "Thats life". We move on.

As you were.

Agree10 Disagree0

No hoodoo Ed. Sometimes this team thinks that they just have to turn up, as was seen down south this weekend! You still haven't answered my question though!

What gets me is their 11th in the league came to Celtic park all talk Celtic are there for the taking then park the bus ?

Fair play to st mirren today

Lenny

Agree9 Disagree1

Why not just concentrate on a really poor performance yet again by us yesterday than Celtic in a semi final. All efforts should be on our own team just now as I think we need an overhaul. Mccoist has not got a clue. Let's do something to move forward. New manager required team going nowhere. Will struggle in any league next year.

i think what the st mirren result and the montrose results yesterday shows today is that nothing in football is certain and tannadice might not be as daunting as it looks they have not won in 11 games and are suspect in defence keep it tight at start and nerves might come into play

Believable8 Unbelievable11

Agree, lots of surprise results, Villa, Norwich, Liverpool, Chelsea and now Celtic, I think our draw was about the only unsurprising one, nice to see Neil Lennon being honest and upfront about his teams performance, good luck to St Mirren in the final.

Agree10 Disagree2

Good shout OP. I have to say Rangers beating Dundee Utd wouldn't be any more of a shock than St.Mirren beating us today. Rangers were excellent against Motherwell. Totally lost faith in Ally, he is either having a joke while on the touchline or he is standing looking like a fish out of water with no idea how to change a game. With 2 defensive midfielders and 1 striker, his tactics are awful

Believable34 Unbelievable5

Agree Ally's trying to manage while still being 1 of the boys and it won't work he cannot do both
He needs to put a gap between him and the players
He also needs to get a defensive coach. He should ask Gough or weir to help, I know Weir is coaching at Everton but maybe he would return to be in the coaching staff at Ibrox who knows worth a punt

Agree11 Disagree4

Sadly I think Ally is not a football manager, the tactics are baffling .
We should be trying to establish some sort of playing style but we just seem to blunder from one week to the next.
How many times can you say the performances are not acceptable before the penny drops, its not the players its the coaching staff .We need to get rid of Mcdowall, durrant and ally .Whoever comes in will need to have a good look at the scouting set up as well, it cannot be coincidence that we keep signing poor players .Yes we are well clear in the league but no one can say there is anything that looks remotely good about how we are going about our business.

I look on Ally as a legend and always will but as a manager he looks as if instead of being proactive he waits till we are trouble and toiling before he starts to put 2 up front.
I remember John Greig being in the same position and not getting expected results the pressure claimed him and Ally's getting into the same position
We are all behind him but change this 1 up front and when we get in front keep attacking

Ed surely being 20 points clear and a possibility of no promotion at end of season its time to go 4-3-3 to see if it works for next season. {The Ed039's Note - One striker in this division is a nonsense)

Believable16 Unbelievable3

Can't see it....one gift-wrapped title from a demoralised Rangers, an anti-footballing scrape over Barca hardly constitutes grounds for 20 years of dominance ...Lennon's lost yet another semi, (Ross County. Hearts, St Mirren) and has also lost two finals(Killie and us)..yet he has been elevated to demi-god status....Celtic might dominate, but not with him managing them they won't.

Agree7 Disagree9

@1) Mate the guys done a fantastic job. Take the bitter hat off for a minute and just accept the man is a good manager, not great, fantastic or deserving of god like status but good, Lennon is his own biggest critic and he will be slaughtering those players today. He openly criticised Celtic's first attempt at europe under his management and his willingness to rectify it...he did so and then some. He openly talked today in his post match interviews about our failures against Killie, Hearts and now St. Mirren at hampden in cup competitions and I expect he will now rectify that aswell. And I think its fair comment to say that with the management team you have in place at the big hoose you can hardly be slagging anyone else's can you.

Agree11 Disagree2

@1 wow mate you have a very short memory! If I recall, mccoist has been pumped out of every cup competition within the first couple of rounds!! So you are having a laugh even trying to slag lemon!!

Ed can you truly see rangers winning the spl in next 15 years? Celtic could easily win 20 in a row in my mind, the gap on and off the park is massive and growing each year, a very worried bear. {The Ed039's Note - I think you are taking it a bit far, but it will take some time to catch up with Celtic)

Traynor gets a brand new Merc courtesy of your share money, come on bears this is a scandal, when are you going to wake up and smell the coffee, all you are getting is smoke and mirrors until the club fails, and at this rate it will, the true rangers fans need to act before its too late.

Believable29 Unbelievable11

Yes it will be a BIG mistake if mr Green thinks he can talk of filling in the corners, moving to England, ect ect and Still over pay all around him while giving the fans so much gash on the pitch
the days of the sound bite then carry on over paying under achievers in ALL areas of the club MUST stop ...les

Well n.o 2 there aren't much we can do right now but a start, kid on to black, sheils, kyle and all the other overpayed under acheivers that they are wanted and needed till we get to the end of the season, then get rid of them just like that get rid of them
if the cook is burning the mince awe the time tell him he, s a gash cook at the first oppertunity get rid of him, put out a show to everone who signs on the dotted line for us that turning up is not enough
first to get this message the painter and decorater mr ian black

no cash cow for other teams, no cash cow for our players either..it Has to stop, and it has to start with the people who would drain money out our club
tell me ian black is going to be a player now for Rangers...just a drain on our money, money that is in short supply, these guy need to be told, and what is the best way to tell these drains on our hard earned money, GET RID OF THEM, no going back to old ways and if the scouts find gash for us to put on the park GET RID OF THEM simple

Gents please remember we were grasping at straws trying to get a squad together for this season and next. It was always going to be hard recruiting players to play at this level, hence why we ended up with some players who have flattered to decieve. I understand the frustrations that the team are not playing teams of the park but it was always going to be a short term fix for a long time gain.
As for Selik fans coming on here trying to cause divisions amongst fans ( Traynor and his car) due to a bad result for us......I just have to let you know that we are to good a support to listen to your b*******!

i fear these kind of display, s will put off people getting season books next year its that bad
now the season books are going up when we go up......how many will renew if this is what's on offer...would you travel over from northern Ireland..come up from London..travel down from Stornaway......well?....i hold my right to protest ...for the good of my club.......les

@6 totally agree! If people vote with their feet and not fill ibrox every home game because of ally being a joke if a manager, I am sure Panther won't like it! If he sees that HE is potentially losing money because of ally's incompetence ally will be out the door!
And the potential browny points for Panther from the knuckle draggers willbe absolutely priceless in his bigger cash cow plans!

only 3 or 4 convincing wins this season, the rest we have huffed and puffed our way to victory, just go ally we are goona get pumped by united next week, green saying our books are going to be better than celtics at the end of the season, then admitting we are not going to make a profit this year WTF IS GOING ON rubbish team, rubbish times, #nevagonnarecover

Believable25 Unbelievable2

Get over it. Bloody drama queen. Were a third div team. These youngsters were never going to win every match convincingly. It's a marathon not a sprint and by that I mean 2-3 years not this season. its a long way back from where we were a few years ago. This ain't football manager or FIFA 13 it's real life. Let ally get this season out the way and ser what occurs in the summer with free agents etc. We aren't losing and being so far ahead I wonder if these youngsters and old pros have let complacency set in. Maybe too much emphasis on utd in the cup. Who knows . But no point changing manager now is there.

Agree6 Disagree14

@1 - we don't expect to win every game, however these players are being paid full time salary to produce below standard football, - the continuation of this must be the managers fault - we have sat back and paid our money to watch this dross week in week out with the same predictable style of football, - this has clearly shown that Mcoist and his staff are not up to the required standard we expect at our club, -- time for change, sooner the better, to allow a new manager with more attacking ideas to take us forward, -- its Div 3 FFS - we shouldn't be struggling - ally has had time to settle in - he's been at rangers for a long time and was in charge for the cup games under Walter - problem is - he has NO IDEA

Agree7 Disagree2

Yeah. You say you're a third division team when it suits you, to try and explain the p*ss poor performance on the pitch. But you have a team worth far more than the third division.

Agree5 Disagree0

Ally is a good assistant but number 1 he's not

Agree4 Disagree0

Here's one for ya then . Let's pick on Templeton, McLeod, mcckay, Alexander, black, sandaza and little. These are the people who are also earning big and actually have the opportunity to change a game physically. Yrs ally is making mistakes but so are these people. Every week. Do you really think its all down to motivation Nd tactics. Doesn't matter how much you prepare and motivate if the players don't put it in it ain't worth a j Arthur.

Agree2 Disagree1

26 Jan 2013 23:49:03
I have defended Ally on this site many times but I am
beginning to think I am trying to defend the indefensible.
This is just not good enough. We are struggling to beat
these teams when we should be winning by four and
five every week. We do have to realise that we are
watching the worst team I have seen in forty years, in
fact not only are the worst, they are the worst by a
million miles. That said these players are getting well
paid to struggle against semi pros.

I do think that Ally has to take the blame for the complete
lack of motivation, his signings have been dire, although
I for one was delighted at the likes of Shields, Black and
Sandaza. but they have been awful. . People are
complaining at the lack of tactics and it is beginning
to look correct, but on the other hand these players
should be good enough to beat the likes of Montrose,
tactics or no tactics.

I think if we get well beat next week, and I think we
will, the Green will be forced to make changes.

I think Terry Butcher is the right man for the job, what he has done with Caley is pretty amazing with no money.

Believable32 Unbelievable12

Ally McCoist is a legend of a player for our club but one thing he is not is manger material. Tactically inept, completely unaware on how to simple managerial tasks. Everytime we see him on the training field he's laughing his a**e off with the players. Hardly demanding respect from them. Fair play he stood by the club when many others wouldn't but lets be honest this was a job that he wanted greatly and would never be offered again unless he seized the chance now. He has been hansomely rewarded for his little return. It's time to go. I'd bring in Billy Davies.

Agree13 Disagree4

27 Jan 2013 04:46:21
I for one am a fan of ally, he has been struggling but has the best interests of the club at heart. If he can't be given a full season of 3rd division football to get it right then there's no hope, give him until the end of the season, we will get promotion anyway, there's no harm in it.
But I also feel that these performances can't be tolerate by us fans, we pay good money and pack out ibrox week in, week out and I feel some of the new signings take that for granted, they think they will get a big crowd no matter how much effort they put in.
Its also pointless just moaning about it on here, I think the players need to be shown. If we mess up the dundee utd game, which is looking likely then I think something needs to be done. I was thinking that at the next home game, against queens park if we all turn up, like we habe been doing all season, but when the game kicks off, the whole of ibrox should turn our back on the game. if we turn our back for ten minutes and show the players and the staff that we are getting sick if this and won't turn up much longer if it continues, lets face it we won't miss much football anyway. it happens in europe and is very effective, a gesture on that scale can't be ignored. This would send a direct message to everyone involved at the club.
its just an idea, let me know what you lads think, Dunc,

Agree8 Disagree12

Amateur teams with more organisational sense than a professional team blame must lie with the manager and his so called back room staff!! Looking very much like jobs for the boys in that department.

Agree13 Disagree3

I agree with everything you say. Ally may be a Rangers legend and quite rightly too but he is not a good manager. Time to be ruthless and bring in someone new. Why oh why he keeps picking Black in his first team squad is beyond me. Ditch the overpaid prima donnas, stick with young players like Perry, McLeod, McKay and Crawford but we need a couple of more experienced heads. Is McCulloch still injured?

Agree9 Disagree2

26 Jan 2013 23:21:48
Lets be honest everyone wanting McCoist out and rightly so. But if he wins next week against utd he'll be a hero again. Chuck said he'll go if the fans want. Does that go for the manager aswel? Just go speak to chuck his doors always open I'm sure he'll listen and get the right man in whoever that may be.

after todays performance....come to think of it, most of the season's performances, i'm dreading playing utd in the cup and fear a roasting from them, god forbid we actually beat them and draw sellik in the next round coz they would totally destroy us
the whole coaching and scouting system at ibrox is inept, ally is hopeless and god knows what durrant and mcdowell bring to the club looks like div 3 is their level.

McCoist is a good assistant or pundit.
McDowell a good Youth/Reserve coach.
Durrant maybe good for spying on other teams.
Murray a good accountant.

Time for a change before it gets too late.
Not a panic, been saying it since we played Malmo.
9000 season ticket holders did not renew.
I don't think it was all down to administration/ Demotion. Frankly the football is crap, the signings rank and the tactics non- existent.

were selling the good name of our famous stadium to help move this club on
we dug into our pockets just before xmas to buy shares to help move this club on
we have done everything asked of us to help move this club on
now mister green MOVE this club on get a new management team ready for next season give the 3 amigos till the end of the season then tell them to go this club has stagnated since the european debackle we have not moved on one inch the football was gash when we were humiliated at home in europe
and its gash now, everything old rangers is flawed and must be replaced with something better, its simply not good enough mr green....les

Believable28 Unbelievable5

Great post Les.stagnating is the perfect word for it.The drop into the third division should have been the catalyst for a new Rangers. A team of young hungry players supported by a few quality experienced players and a bright forward thinking coaching staff. For Ally read Walter, defensive minded and bafflingly playing players out of position.Coming to the end of the season, with the league won, Ally needs to show he can be more pro active in team selection and substitutions.
