would like to see jason cummings getting a start against ross co on sunday alongside morelos think the 2 of them could really open up county think we pay teams too much respect playing a constant 1 up front.

27 Jan 2018 19:00:05
Hi queens11. I was going to post this afternoon with a predicted line up for tomorrow but couldn't make my mind up. One of my line ups had cum dog and fredo up front. I have a feeling Ross county will sit in and make it difficult on the smaller pitch, space will be a premium. So tactics for us may be to get the ball in and around the box and then load the box area with personnel that can score. So i'm not going to second guess the formation but we need cumdog, fredo, Murphy, Windass, Candias and possibly Docherty up front in some sort of formation. In away games like this we may need to feed of scraps in the box, fortunately we now have a striker that thrives on that. Going to be interesting. 3 points vital, as you all know the others all got their 3 point today. Games like this separate champions from almost champions. Come on the Rangers.

27 Jan 2018 19:16:14
Get the ball in and around the box and then load said box with goalscorers you say? Its a wonder Pep, Jose and co have never thought of they tactics lol😂😂

27 Jan 2018 19:33:01
All that matters is 3 points, come on the queen's 11

27 Jan 2018 20:23:21
Would be shocked if we played with 2 up front against county. Same team that started against the sheep, injuries permitting.

27 Jan 2018 21:10:56
Why would we change formation? We play a system and the guys that have been signed fit into the system

27 Jan 2018 21:55:08
I think the same team and same system as against Aberdeen. Then if we're comfortable later on in the game we could try out cummings and morelos together to see how they get on

27 Jan 2018 23:11:42
I’d agree with going in the same as Wednesday night but GM will know best, he knew it was best to match up Aberdeen formation wise and it worked a treat, I’d love to see Cummings start but his time will come if he doesn’t!

I’d go:
Foderingham
Tav / Martin / Bates / John
Goss
Candeias / Windass / Murphy
Morelos / Cummings

Docherty on the bench!

28 Jan 2018 07:51:02
Dalcio on bench a hope tae a rate the guy. he was brilliant v Corinthians. so why not included on bench? he's a left footed winger summit we don't really have.

27 Jan 2018 17:39:12
according to futn soccer alves is on 58000 per week, if he is someone needs to be sacked for sanctioning that wage, no wonder we could go down the crapper with that money squandered

27 Jan 2018 17:51:50
Utter nonsense.

27 Jan 2018 17:56:35
Absolute bollocks! Nowhere near that amount. but I would happily get him off the wage bill this month! Only interested in the world cup.

27 Jan 2018 18:13:39
coarse he's not on 58,000 a week lay off the glue pal

27 Jan 2018 18:13:46
Given that they call it 'soccer' I would question the accuracy of that particular report.

27 Jan 2018 19:32:42
£58k a week no chance but what annoys me is why slate the guy when he has not had one bad game for us!
If the disbelievers want to come on then fine but please explain what game he has let us down,?

27 Jan 2018 22:42:08
He can leave ASAP. Done nothing ive seen. With Martin I'm happy he can develop youth.

27 Jan 2018 15:31:28
Hardie scores for livi . come on son earn yourself a new contract with the famous

27 Jan 2018 18:15:52
If he continues to score and show up well then yeah why not give him another year 👍🏼 If he doesn’t then best he goes and plays. The transaction from youth to first team is enormous.

27 Jan 2018 14:50:38
I thought Bates was very nervous first few games he played but has improved massively, far better than Cardoso.

27 Jan 2018 21:09:59
How many games has Cardoso actually played? Not saying he's great but he hasn't played that many games to make a proper assessment of the lad surely?

27 Jan 2018 23:16:25
Was looking at the stats there. He's started 9 in the league plus 2 sub apps. 3 league cup games and the 2 Progres games. Meanwhile Bates has ONLY had 3 league starts plus 2 sub apps and he's had 2 motm awards! It might be harsh to judge Cardoso, but there is no doubt who's performed better statistically!

28 Jan 2018 00:52:03
Bates played a bit last season didn't he? Really don't know if Cardoso is the answer, just think we should give him a chance

27 Jan 2018 14:43:27
What's the thoughts for Sunday bears? Personally I think 2-0 maybe 3-0 to rangers, can see us having a lot of possession but think county will be pretty hard to break down and will probably raise their game against us, and they did ok last time at Ibrox, wins the most important thing but another clean sheet would be ideal, few more convincing wins with clean sheets and get the fear factor back, also I like Fredo to score first as he has a pretty good record this season against county, anyway bears what's your thoughts and do we think Greg will get a debut? Looking forward to the game away support will be exceptional as always hope the team reward them, c'mon the rangers 🇬🇧🔴⚪️🔵🇬🇧.

27 Jan 2018 15:01:07
I think rangers will beat ross county 3-1!Said before, really impressed with our manager graeme murty and our DOF mark allen, regarding their transfer business, so far in january! Have been impressed with graeme murty all along and did state on here, when others were wanting delboy mcinnes as our manager, that murty was by far the better option! Our manager has the measure of mcinnes and has him on his mantlepiece! Rangers will have too much for ross county, as imho we now have the players to open these teams up! Onwards and upwards! Give graeme murty a 12 month rolling contract!

27 Jan 2018 15:59:49
Hope David ngog isn't starting. 😳

27 Jan 2018 17:52:39
Would like too see another clean sheet

27 Jan 2018 18:24:44
True caw surprised they signed him decent player

27 Jan 2018 20:31:33
Gers 2 County 1 i think will be the score i called and won money on the 0-0 Manks Game and 2-0 On the sheep game, if you look back on here Banter or Rumours i said what the scores would be, so get your Cash bets on fellow bears, but Also seriously i think it will be a closer game than most bears think on Sunday especially with that tight small pitch and you know County will just sit back defending and try either hitting us on the break or make setpieces count especially corners, hope Martin And Tav have another excellent game and deal with all long balls and setpieces, Com on the Bears 2-1 but Hoping for 3-1 or nil, but 3 points a must.

27 Jan 2018 21:16:09
Think we'll win against county. let's see where we are at the end of the season before we decide about murty. Haven't forgotten the dodgy results/ games against Dundee, Kilmarnock, Hamilton.

27 Jan 2018 14:39:06
Is anyone else concerned that there is not much cover in the full back positions with Wallace injured, if tav or Elton get injured only really Hodson too cover which worries me, I know Martin can play rb but would prefer him in the centre, anyone think a full back who could cover both sides should be signed if possible before the window closes?

27 Jan 2018 14:54:02
Think we could do with another RB as I don't rate Hodson but I think Wallace is good enough to be a squad player and he's not to far away from making a comeback from injury.

27 Jan 2018 15:58:06
Wallace won't be a squad player he will get captains armband back and be back playing left back when fit. Wether we all agree with that is a different matter but he will be first choice.

27 Jan 2018 17:59:10
I personally think he will have to earn his place back. It would be unfair to just drop John whilst he is playing the way he has been this season.

27 Jan 2018 18:20:07
Surely there is no way young John can be dropped. He has been one of the standouts week in week out for us

27 Jan 2018 18:21:47
Russell Martin can play RB

27 Jan 2018 18:22:05
Ryan Jack and McRorie can both play right back when fit also

27 Jan 2018 13:15:00
What shall happen after 33 games if the top 6 is Celtic rangers Aberdeen hibs hearts and killie.

Rangers shall have played 17 games at home with still 2 to play at home after the split, so which 2 teams would have to play at ibrox for a 3rd time and miss out on a 2nd home game. Surely this makes a mockery of the way the league is run.

27 Jan 2018 13:28:42
One of the many reasons why our league is a laughing stock.

27 Jan 2018 14:24:14
Well you can strike Celtic off the list for a 3rd game at Ibrox. Guaranteed to be Kilmarnock and either Hibs or Hearts

27 Jan 2018 17:17:44
Nothing new here really happens all the time. Did we not get shafted with pittodrie 3 times 1 season once? League is a joke. Mind you teams might b happy at that as we seem to have been netter away from home this season.

27 Jan 2018 17:54:14
Luck of the draw. Sometimes you win sometimes you lose

27 Jan 2018 19:27:39
This has happened since the league was formed in this format. Every season somone plays 3 times away and only 1 home. Never happens with the old firm tho.

27 Jan 2018 12:22:47
Falkirk dropping their youth system. Forth valley youth academy . To save money for promotion push. They will be saving £340 000 a year. Who thinks Rangers should take this on as another way of bringing through youth. The whole thing is already up and running and produced players such as Arfield and Vauxs who we have been linked with

27 Jan 2018 12:55:38
We just got Jimmy from Falkirk so he should know all about the academy. Plus did we not bring in someone on to the coaching staff from Falkirk when Warburton was in charge? Who was it and are they still at Rangers?

27 Jan 2018 11:53:57
Its hard not to look down south at England with envious eyes at the amount of tv money their league generates. Who ever it was at the SFA who decided to sign with setanta sport deserves shot. Although our league has a certain charm. I think a british cup would be a good proposal with HS2 links being built around Britain would be easier for fans to get to games. A cup tournament like this could generate some much needed income for the Scottish, welsh and northern irish FA. Also we should sell exclusive rights to all SPL games to either BT sport or SKY not to both this way we may be able to get more money as they fight over the rights to the old firm games.

27 Jan 2018 13:09:27
As Sky has already proven with the Champions League rights and The National Geographicial channels they will not pay more than a channel is financially worth to them. Also remember from next year Sky and BT Sports will be working together rather than competing, bottom line I can’t see more money being paid until the viewing numbers are up?!

27 Jan 2018 14:30:18
But why would England entertain that when there earn massive money anyway and with packed fixtures they will not really want to travel to Inverness on a Tuesday night as the games won't be on a weekend because fa cups will still be the main cup competitions so it will need to take over the league cups and why on earth would English teams what to travel so far to small Scottish Welsh and Irish clubs there all swimming in money why would they want to do that? .

{Ed001's Note - the English League Cup is struggling for attendances and TV viewers. They might entertain it to give it a boost. There are 72 teams in it that aren't swimming in money.}

27 Jan 2018 15:20:07
As Ed points out the smaller English clubs would be well up for it and the rich clubs down there don't take that competition too seriously anyway. I don't actually know how much of a success adding Irish and Welsh clubs to the challenge cup has been although I noticed there was a mixture of those countries in the latter stages. It would also make a treble less likely and far more prestigious at least for clubs outside England. Great idea in my opinion.

27 Jan 2018 15:23:20
Sorry should have added that it would surely be an amalgum of all the league cups.

27 Jan 2018 20:33:05
How will it give it a boost tho? I'm English and know for a fact English football fans look down horribly on Scottish football let alone Welsh and northern Irish league sides clubs in England will not be interested at all so without interest from English clubs there will be know big sky bt deals for it.

27 Jan 2018 11:20:43
I got shot down when I said I would rather have Murty in charge instead of McInnes so do the same haters still disagree with me, also we need to tie Bates down on a new contract pronto let Wilson run out his contract.

27 Jan 2018 11:49:42
You may well be right. Time will tell. Some posters go on and on about how well Murty talks and others have pointed out media savvy training. What matters are results. I think Murty has the ability but worried about his naivety. If he brings Miller back into the starting 11 when we have a player like Cummings, all bets are off. My worry is that he buys into the Miller legend status that half the posters here belong to and pay no attention to 38 years of age, too old for us now and well past his best. That'll be a test of Murty's managerial acumen.

27 Jan 2018 11:56:37
I wanted Murty as well but it is still early days I think judge him at the end of the season and then again after 3 transfer windows. Things are certainly far more positive. He speaks well, tactically he is very good against the top 6 and the players seem to enjoy playing for him.

27 Jan 2018 12:00:24
I agree although kenny has been a wonderful servant through the dark days at the club. I would prefer him in a coaching role but nowhere near the starting 11.

27 Jan 2018 14:47:31
RfcChris, do you know he can coach? I'd just let his contract run down then let him go, same as any other player, unless he agrees to leave sooner. I think the problem for Murty is that Miller is his pal from their Scotland days and it's much tougher to bin a pal. As for 'a wonderful servant through the dark days' he didn't return until we were in the championship.

27 Jan 2018 09:44:05
Maybe someone could explain the following to me.

We have been called beggar's for offering lower bids for players and we have been called the Loan Rangers, well for obvious reasons by those over east.

Is it a different set of rules then if you have all these trillions in the bank?

Yesterday a ridiculous bid by Celtic got thrown out by Dundee and today they are 'closing in' on a loan for some Man City player.

Just confused what criteria allows them to call us beggars and should it now be applied to their 'wonderful' team.

27 Jan 2018 10:34:20
It is musonda from chelsea there going for on loan just like they went for roberts on loan aswell these player will come with a big fee upfront for the loan deal to go threw
But unlike our deals i do not rate celtics chances of signing these two players on a perment basis but it seems to be what brendan wants so good luck to him.
As for McCann mention that celtic put in a low bid for hendry i think he is highlighting the fact that other clubs are also putting in low bids not trying punt hendry on like mad sutton sugested.

27 Jan 2018 10:34:42
Couldn't agree more seen the interview with Neil Mccann yesterday stating that an unacceptably low offer was made by the dark side for 1 of there players . However we get slated by all for making a low offer for a player rules for 1 and different rules for another.

27 Jan 2018 12:43:27
Nobody seems to be up in arms about Hulls repeatedly low offers for Aberdeens McKenna. Imagine what the media would be saying if rangers had bid 300k for him

27 Jan 2018 14:41:23
they bang on about how much money the have but use loans just as much as anyone, remember they paraded roberts if they had bust the bank to sign him, they've had him on loan that long that they might get ppi.

27 Jan 2018 14:44:24
i’ll explain it all in one word cleatus

hypocrisy

i read some english team had 3 bids for an aberdeen player all knocked back for being too low yet mhedia and ex players etc aren’t falling over themselves in shock and horror at the disgraceful unsettling behaviour of making low bids for a player to try and save money - i personally don’t have an issue with it. if bids too low knock it back dundee did it with hendry we did it with windass aberdeen did it - what’s the issue?

i see mutton also bumping his gums about pointless friendlies in far flung places in the close season just to make money won't allow players to properly rest and how dare SFA make decisions without consulting brenda and liewell first

but it was a diff story when the mythical ‘japan’ tour cldnt be canxd for purposes of integrity and we were made to play 4 games in 1 week

how did that tour turn out btw chris.

27 Jan 2018 08:40:39
Here’s an example of the Danny Wilson situation. I know members of Kieran tierneys family well (his dad) . As everyone knows the boy is a die hard Celtic fan and would love to spend his career with that mob but I can 100% gaurantee that when the mega bucks deal away from them come along he will absolutely take it. I know where you all are coming from and I’d give my right hand to play for the teddy bears but in a short playing career in the game money talks I’m afraid

27 Jan 2018 12:02:48
If your in a job and you have to work really hard under intense pressure for say 5k a week but then your offered the chance to do the same job under less pressure and with less effort for triple the wage you would take it.

Neymar Jr.

Aye well done ed.

27 Jan 2018 10:53:27
Rise above it jyf! Lol

27 Jan 2018 11:44:29
Haha makes me question the eds though.

27 Jan 2018 06:50:24
I have heard that our January transfer business is far from over and if we are to offload a few players we are looking at one of the best midfielders in our league maybe John McGinn and a youngster down south could be Tyler Roberts It all depends on who goes out the way

I believe we are receiving £300,000 for Danny Wilson although I would've preferred to have kept him

I would like to see the following go:-

Lee Hodson
Bruno Alves
Niko Kranjkar
Eduardo Herrera
Carlos Pena (permanantly)

27 Jan 2018 08:32:44
There's no way mcginn is coming to us.

27 Jan 2018 08:42:28
Why is only pena bracketed permanent could do with shifted them and a few more permanently including halliday dodoo moh etc and use the money to bring in some more won't recieve much fee but would shift a pile of useless wages sittin abt

27 Jan 2018 13:30:51
Jcarr only just because he is on loan just now All I was saying was make it permanent haha
