Steven Davis from Southampton since they have just captured armstrong. Bags of experience.

27 Jun 2018 22:38:50
i’d love that - i’ll drive down and get him now!

we still need a top drawer centre mid to dominate games i reckon.

28 Jun 2018 07:41:46
agreed trevor we still need a top drawer mid, better in what we have already, a tough tackling mid who can play box to box, still another defender for me, get rid of alves, curdoso they don't have the heart or fight to be at rangers, I've said it from day 1 alves topping up his pension. his wages could be better spent on somebody who wants to fight for position,2 strikers still needed, origoi or ings both of liverpool both good players. we haven't spent anything yet, i think dodgy king realy has to dig deep for gerrard in transfer fees, were not talking 100milllions but back the manager with some money. london jock

28 Jun 2018 08:34:44
Londonjock didn’t we spend money on the 2 centre backs

28 Jun 2018 08:46:52
£5 million spent on both centre backs .

28 Jun 2018 08:47:49
Londonjock, your post looks dodgy to me, tic, tic, tic!

28 Jun 2018 08:51:54
gazza 5.5 million and the rest loan signings, granted its better than before BUTim not getting carried away a blind man could see what was needed to fix RANGERS. dodgy dave smokescreen again in what's avaailable to spend on players. gerrard says 4 more players needed hope its cb, cm,2 strikers of quality, and a few still to be shown the door

28 Jun 2018 09:25:09
What do you mean “and the rest loan signings” jock? We’ve signed 1 loan player pmsl

28 Jun 2018 09:38:54
Londonjock, I think that you will find that they are not all loan deals, does Arfield, Flannagin, Murphy, McGregor ring a bell?

28 Jun 2018 09:47:38
Goldson Katic and murphy all a fee involved Mcgregor Arfield and Flanagan all free transfers so out the 7 players we have signed only 1 on loan and that’s Ejaria

28 Jun 2018 09:50:19
We have one loan signing with the possibility of a second, I would say that's pretty standard. We've spent over £5 million on two centre halfs which was the area crying out for quality. We've added McGregor, Arfield and Flanagan on free transfers which is fantastic in a business sense and we paid a fee of around £1 million for Murphy. Pretty good summer business I'd say. We absolutely need a enforcer in the middle, a winger and a couple of strikers but we also need to ensure the dross is gone as well. We've been clever in this window so far with recruitment and I believe that will continue.

28 Jun 2018 10:03:18
Irrespective of what we have or have not signed we still need players in and players out. I would like to see a top quality midfield player and a striker signed and while Allen i'd doing a sterling job removing the dross we still need to get rid of guys like Hodson and Halliday!

28 Jun 2018 12:07:14
Londonroadjock?

28 Jun 2018 18:48:58
dk17 i'm a true blue, family ran the rangers club and bus in easterhouse, my good friend i live in london purely for fiancial greed. glad to be out of the city of hatred, educated myself on good football going to matches in english premier, for the record its overated and awash with money. geting back to post spent 5.5 on players, got very good bosmans,1 loan signing, a blind man could see what was needed at rangers not rocket science/ not a fan of dodgy dave and his dodgy dealings, london jock

27 Jun 2018 20:31:23
When is transfer deadline for 1st round of the europa league?

27 Jun 2018 19:48:32
Just a change of football talk for a minute fellow bears! A wee mention about the world cup, which to be honest, i've not been totally impressed with, so far! The three countries i've been most impressed with so far are,
belgium, croatia and england! What's your opinions so far fellow bears?

27 Jun 2018 20:07:52
I don’t think England will have a better chance the way it’s been going and how the draw is looking! But I’ve got a few quid on the Belgians. so here’s hoping lol Belgium and Lukaku as top goalscorer could lead to a Messi night lol

27 Jun 2018 20:16:29
world football has changed dramitically over the years their is no more diddy teams anybody can beat anybody as we have seen so far and try and get a coupon up is murder lol, croatia have really impressed me as have england but i think brazil will sneek it

27 Jun 2018 20:34:41
That’s who I’ve got scott123 Belgium and lukaku double but i heard lukaku is injured unfortunately

27 Jun 2018 21:46:22
How can you be impressed with England they were woeful v Tunisia and were professional v Panama.

England must of paid someone some amount of money to get that draw.

27 Jun 2018 21:48:16
Scott 123, i also bet belgium to win the world cup from the start. I put a tenner on them at 11/1!

27 Jun 2018 21:56:58
As a gambler it's been a good WC so far as I bet every team every game to score and to miss a penalty. £180 profit so far. The ref who was in charge of Spain game the other night is card happy so watch for his next game as there should be at least 5 cards probably more. 4 by HT in Spain game and I think he dished out 11 in Croatia v Argentina. Ravshan Irmatov is his name. Fill yer boots

27 Jun 2018 21:57:01
I’ve also got England and Kane 🙈

27 Jun 2018 23:07:16
ALso had Werner and Germany as well lol

27 Jun 2018 23:08:11
No more diddy teams? What were Panama? Tbh football has been poor and the excitement has been created by the VAR system. The Portugal v Iran game defended into farce with the constant referring to VAR.

28 Jun 2018 10:05:20
Can't see past Brazil to be honest but delighted that Germany are out! England have a chance but for me it is only a slight one and depends on tonight's result. Personally I would like to see them finish second since that would appear to be the less difficult route to the quarter finals.

28 Jun 2018 11:36:48
There have been some interesting games! For me, Uruguay have impressed and have a great defence plus Cavani and Suarez up front. They'll be hard to beat. Don't write off Argentina either now that they are through to the KO stages and of course Spain are still there. England haven't really played anybody yet and scraped past Tunisia. Sure they thumped Panama but even Scotland would have won that one! I think England might get to the last four because of the potential draw but can't see them beating the big guns that they'll have to beat to win the trophy.

28 Jun 2018 12:20:17
Uruguay won't be far away. can't see England winning it.

28 Jun 2018 23:12:31
I was impressed by Croatia especially against the argies, fair enough England and Belgium pumped Panama but Croatia pumped one of the the bigger teams, I am not saying I think they will win but I would like to see an outsider like them win it. Also the way results and games have gone I wouldn't be surprised.

27 Jun 2018 18:26:24
Celtic's flag day won't be on TV as Aberdeen vs Rangers is picked instead

Ha ha more proof that it's all about THE RANGERS!

27 Jun 2018 19:07:10
anybody know when this game against TNS is?

27 Jun 2018 19:55:33
Gotta love this headline.

"Celtic's flag day won't be on TV as Aberdeen vs Rangers is picked instead"

I'm sure timmy is getting the tinfoil hats out and working on some fresh conspiracy theories about that one, they love a good conspiracy theory.

27 Jun 2018 11:04:35
Not a rumour.
Listen fellow bears there is a lot of speculation over the new captain, but for me it's a no brainier big shagger all day long! At this moment in time!

27 Jun 2018 12:06:56
Never been keen on keeper/ captain if I was forced to pick I'd go first choice goldston 2nd choice still Lee Wallace if he can resolve issues with club

27 Jun 2018 12:22:13
Frazyul. Good shout, But personally I believe it should be an outfield player, Alves if he is still at Rangers or Tav, But we will have to wait and see who SG picks

27 Jun 2018 12:32:10
I like lee Wallace as a player but for me he isn’t captain material

27 Jun 2018 12:53:55
If he can stay fit I would give it to Jordon Rossiter. He was the only player after the Progres game who had the balls to come out and speak to any reporters and was very honest in his assessment. Also he showed more passion in the Hibs game (5-5) than any other player had showed over the course of the whole season. Easy decision for me.

27 Jun 2018 13:58:51
Agree with you Kev, think if Rossiter can stay fit he will be our standout player. Also showed a lot of maturity against Hibs in the last game of the season telling the players to calm down and use the head after Alves equalised. Seems like he has a good head on his shoulders to be a captain for years to come

27 Jun 2018 14:33:56
Wallace for me

27 Jun 2018 14:58:53
Arfield or Goldson

27 Jun 2018 15:44:58
I think one of our CB’s should be captain tho Rossiter is a great shout and he’s been a captain right through the age groups at club and country level. He’s got everything a young B. Ferguson had and a little bit more at that age.

27 Jun 2018 19:00:11
Wallace is not a captain or a leader, people need to realise this quicky. Mcgregor or goldson easy.

27 Jun 2018 21:14:57
For me definitely rossiter with Goldson vicejas we haven’t seen him perform yet or vice ver

28 Jun 2018 06:52:56
Rossiter has managed just 11 games in two years.
As someone who has followed the Rangers for 50+ years I would say this, you don’t get handed the Rangers Captaincy, you have to earn it, in some clubs being captain is nothing special.
We are Rangers, we are different our captain must be seeped in the traditions of our club he must have earned the right.
He must be prepared to run through brick walls for our badge, Greig and Butcher spring to mind in that aspect.
Any player that walked away in 2012 has lost any right to be our leader.
Anyone that is not totally immersed in our club is not qualified.
Therefore for me there are only two candidates at present Lee Wallace and James Tavernier.

28 Jun 2018 10:08:27
There are a number of options but the one person that should be no where near the captain's armband is Wallace. He is not and never will be a leader and we need a proper leader on the pitch. McGregor is and obvious as is our new centre back or Arfield and I certainly wouldn't discount Rossiter or Tav.

Review Of The Day 27th June 2018

27 Jun 2018 06:31:46
{Ed's Note - Ed001 has posted a new article entitled, Review Of The Day 27th June 2018

27 Jun 2018 13:42:27
Goldson for me all day, this guy will be a leader on the park a no nonsense defender who can also play .
Hoping rossiter can keep fit and show us how good a player he really is, fingers crossed end of his injury nightmare .

27 Jun 2018 15:43:14
Instead of a discussion, why don't we make this a poll?

If Ed doesn't mind of course.

26 Jun 2018 22:44:00
Interesting summer so far with plenty of changes in and around the club. Hopefully the major change is the attitude and determination shown by the players out on the pitch. I never like to get too over excited prior to kick off but I can’t wait until the first ball is kicked.

On a side note, I love how all Celtic fans claimed Edouard cost nothing near the reported $9m by BBC but now Armstrong has left the reported fee of $7m (by BBC) is gospel and is great business. Couldn’t make it up.

27 Jun 2018 01:33:09
Happy days bears hh

27 Jun 2018 11:16:10
Poseidon, it’s the good old Sevilla calculator in effect again, 30 million for a one season wonder in Dembele? Add in Injury prone and outscored by Morelos last season.

Let’s not even think or worry about that mob, let them think all is Rosy, but we all know they are secretly in fear that their easy route to 7 in a row is now over

27 Jun 2018 13:48:42
Easy route to 8 in a row mate keep up!

27 Jun 2018 16:10:57
I ink he meant they HAD an easy route to seven. :)

27 Jun 2018 19:25:21
Well said Colin, somehow the dhims don’t understand the queens lingo, they’ve had an easy route to 7 in a row, 8?. In Stevie G we trust

Let’s go

27 Jun 2018 21:32:07
Brill jazza no 8 yet, a long way to go
