Kyle Hutton, in my opinion, Rangers' star man for many years to come! will never fill his boots, but maybe a young Gazza? i got high hopes for the young man!
JG

Believable9 Unbelievable29

Are you on drugs? A young gazza? Ha.

Ah, faux optimism. Fantastic. Some people prefer to live in a dream world. Nearly a year later and some of you still don't get it.

Thought every player on the pitch last night was super ! Kyle Hutton shoulda been on from the first minute! My question to Super Ally is where has he been all this season? He had an average game on day 1, but last night proved he could walk into any SPL team! Let's hope the Gers get a win against Mechanics and get a few wins on the roll!

I was up in Forres a few weeks ago with the work, walked past the ground and you could see the whole park from the pavement, so Bears fans no tickets needed just stroll up and down street for an hour and a half . P.S Don't go to the chippy it's stinking, got a big hair in my chips gave me the boke......your helpful Celtic fan Stevie

Been reading a few threads regarding Celtics attendance v Benfica.Yes the attendance was 53k but that id down to Uefa buying up the front seats for a safety basis.I remember this being the case at Ibrox also.

Believable3 Unbelievable15

I don't believe that was ever the case at Ibrox - my so had a front row season ticket and he's been to them all

Agree8 Disagree1

@1 Look at every CL game and there are front rows missing from them all.UEFA do buy them. The celtic v benfica was sold out on the monday night

Agree7 Disagree3

Front row for a reason!

Agree3 Disagree0

27 Sep 2012 22:24:49
I've been to every home Champions league game that Celtic have ever played and all i can say is the Benfica game was as full as i've seen Celtic Park for these occasions apart from for some reason a row of seats of maybe 20 half way up the North stand, don't know where they got the 53,000 figure from! I would say there was round about 59,000 there...Fact... Anyway why are Celtic attendances getting talked about on The Rangers page

Agree9 Disagree5

28 Sep 2012 01:07:03
Some seats do get blocked out. I'm pretty sure theres a ruling that in CL games no spectator can be within the field of play. For some grounds this isnt a problem but at others it means seats get blocked off.

The big difference in The rangers performance was urgency& the will to win, which hasnt been showin from day1..This new young team given time will climb thru the leagues no problem& will be back in the spl in 2016 with loads of first team games under there belt& plenty expierence,so future looks bright for yous bears in the long run,yet the dark clouds still loom, when will any supporters groups ask,or find out who has the floating charge too ibrox??as no proof has been forthcoming..even the most deluded wounded bear leggat, has stated many times over, greene is a snakes skin oil salesman, and out to milk the cash cow of the fans loyalty,so dont say yous havent been warned, charlie chuckles will be hated as much as murrray&whyte, watch this space!stevo

I thought Kyle Hutton was the best player in the

I have seen on these pages, the Celtic supporters saying that prices are one third or half price. What a load of tosh, the season tickets are a third off, not a third of the price. I would also point out that last nights game was pay, not covered by season tickets, the game was live on a main channel.
My season tickets for me and my son were still £1200, reduced from £1600.

When you are getting crowds of 14000 please don't embarrass yourselves any more by making up prices
that suit your argument, but are completely inaccurate.

Believable26 Unbelievable12

14000 on a wet and windy night in Glasgow is not bad and tbh it was only raith rovers...

Will be different next Tuesday when we're away on champions league duty... Playing one of the best teams in Europe this year when your playing who? Someone from the AA or RAC this weekend?

The big question I'd like to know is why ally left Kyle Hutton out for 2 months?

Believable18 Unbelievable2

Yes would like to know as well, black being out and sandaza getting injured only made him play thats the worrying thing it wasnt tactical the boy controlled game and fed young boys alnight best performance from team tho iv seen in along time

Heard from a good source Ally was desperate to punt him but there weren't any takers.

Cracking potential as well.

Agree9 Disagree2

@4 i think you forget your old club will be liquidated because it couldnt pay its debts now your shouting your mouth off as thou your the cash cow of scottish football get real pal

Agree10 Disagree2

Re:reply 4 - I can assure you, Celtic are not suffering financially due to Rangers' death. Debt was £7m up till June 2012: we then secure champions league money, sell a bench-warmer for £6.5m and everything is just fine. Oh, and Celtic are still owed money from McGeady's move to Spartak. It just keeps getting better. Read it and weep, my zombie friend. Accept it, we just don't need your Rangers franchise that much.

Agree4 Disagree1

@ 4 In the history of stupid things said in here, and lets face it from both sides there is a lot of examples, yours is easily amongst the dumbest.

Given the averages so far Celtic will make approximately £10.2m more at the gate than Rangers from league games this season. (Want the figures? I'll happily oblige). Approximately £21m from Champions league prior to one point being won. Sold Ki for £6.5m. That's £37.7m, you have the paltry amount made from the Ramsden Cup and both the teams have the domestic cups left. STARVE US OF MONEY? ARE YOU INSANE?

Believable21 Unbelievable9

27 Sep 2012 15:55:05
1 good result out of how many ? that does not make ally a good manager!

since ally became manager he has had us pumped out of all cup competitions (apart from last night) very early costing the club between 15 - 20 million in revenue. So one good result does not make him this great manager !!

Agree12 Disagree7

27 Sep 2012 17:23:15
McCall is hedging his bets as he has ambitions to manage Newco. He should be ashamed of his tactics last night. I am a Motherwell fan who will not be back until he is out the door.

Agree12 Disagree10

Football fans have selective memories. Ally will get a break now. But as soon as the team slips up in SFL3 again it'll be the usual moans.

So far it's game on. Rangers WILL be promoted. Still unbeaten remember. Still in the cup, beating an SPL team. Isn't this what everyone wanted? Show the SPL how Rangers can thrive despite them and Regan/Doncaster's misguided plans?

Agree6 Disagree3

Yeah, McCall has been shocking for Motherwell! Qualified for the cl last year and sitting top of the spl this year! Just goes to show that everyone hates Rangers and can't stand it when we beat them! Stop being so bitter that you stop making sense!

Good attendance last night again- almost 30,000 for a mid week game! amazing support and it seemed like a great atmosphere. Double the support the 'tic could get on Tuesday I beleive.

Sundays crowd was superb also- 45,000 again!! Not many teams can pull that many fans in!! The atmosphere was outstanding.

People doubt it will continue- but I think it will.

Well done fellow bears.... lets show them all who is still one of the biggest teams in the world.

Believable29 Unbelievable13

27 Sep 2012 13:37:01
Its not really fair to compare relative attendances in the league cup as it is The Rangers most meaningful competition and an irrelevant side show for Celtic.

Agree13 Disagree16

Was it not closer to 25k then 30? And if the prices were the same as Celtic do you think you would have got that much, or if the prices for Celtic were as low as yours do you not think more ppl would have gone to the game even thought ppl have holidays and mid week and all? Your attendance thing is the only thing that seems to be good about your club cause it seems that's all you talk about, is it to distrack you from the bad games(cg isnt doing enough for you in that aspect?)For any club could have the most attendance on any given day if no other clubs are playing, would that be a new record as well, if so every day would have a new record and the record books would be as big as your ego and arrogence.

If Rangers1872 weren't viable with 34,000 season ticket holders paying full price and running a £10m deficit how can The Rangers be viable with 34,000 people paying half the price and on occasion resorting to letting people in for free?

It smells of desperation!

Believable12 Unbelievable10

For one the wage bill is no where near what it was in the past, and under previous ownership who knows where our money was goin, still have a few concerns over green but I feel were entitled to be after the last year or so.instead of being so downbeat why not try and be a little more positive.

Agree4 Disagree5

36000 paying 70% of the price - vastly reduced outgoings = no need for desperation - tickets given away were over and above the 30000 who paid - they were given away to hurry things up and let people in as queues were so big - unlike earlier in the season they couldn't delay ko as it was live on BBC - if your going to write twisted nonsense, at least try and get it right ...... Ps tickets were £15 last night - how much were Celtic's on Tuesday - I'll bet you don't know

Agree15 Disagree7

With the revelation that Green met Murray yesterday it maybe assumed that hes playing a very dangerous game, colluding as to how they can minimise damages etc.
From a creditors view point it doesn't look good, Green meeting one of the men who was responsible for consigning the club he's trying to reincarnate to liquidation.
From a liquidators viewpoint also you have a situation were there's even more evidence to suggest that a gratuitous alienation has taken place.

Believable5 Unbelievable8

Gratuitous alienation doesn't this only come about when it's a person that's been sequestrated and not a actual company, which would involve liquidation and eventually dissolution?

Cannot believe all the drooling over a
win against Murderwell (rumour is McCall
never gave half time team talk, says
it all...)
Anyway I won another £120 that makes
£300 since returning from my holiday,
so Sevco thanks.
My next money making bet is in the Cup
Saturday. Take both teams to score
Forres-Sevco, on a draw 90 minutes
and a wee cheeky bet on Forres win
at predicted big odds.
In wee Forres you will get genuine
players trying for whole 90 minutes
unlike Murderwell last night. lol Timalloy

Calm down everyone about the free tickets, people were getting free tickets at the last minute as we knew they wouldnt have sold. Thats why there was a big queue outside the ticket office just before kick off.. These couldnt have been added as pasrt of the attendance as i think there was more than 29,000 there...
FauldsRFC

Believable4 Unbelievable4

So what you're saying is the product isn't strong enough for people to pay to see it?
Surely that isn't viable?

Agree6 Disagree2

Better to have 15,000 people paying full price to watch something rather than letting in more than that for free and claiming the attendance was 29,000.
It doesn't make business sense! {Ed001's Note - yes it does, the staff are there to deal with the higher numbers already, so higher numbers will just mean more money from concession stands ie food and drink.}

Agree3 Disagree6

Ed, you've obviously not got a business brain. I take it you pick up the same wage, every month and are in a mind numbing job that's dissolved any brain cells you had? {Ed001's Note - actually no, sorry, I happen to know that only someone with no idea about business would think that letting people in for free, rather than having empty seats and excess food that has to just be disposed of, would be a bad idea. The police and staff have been employed on the basis of having a large crowd, those costs aren't going to be reduced by having empty seats. There is nothing to gain by leaving the seats empty, nothing. There is a chance those people that come in will spend money buying food, drink and merchandise, so increasing income on the night. You still want to carry on being an arse about something you clearly have no clue about?}

Agree5 Disagree2

For those fans who got in free they must have turned up willing to pay but were let in for free because game was about to start. Rangers did a good thing and it made sure ibrox was rocking at kickoff. We all know what Celtic would make them miss the first twenty mins and still charge there fans thirty quid

Agree6 Disagree4

So why buy a ticket for the next mid week game? wait until on the night and see if you get in free, if not then you pay. Think we're undermining ourselves with this strategy and diluting the brand.

Agree7 Disagree3

It makes sense if they make money , how much will motherwell receive compared to raith rovers , genuine answers only please

Agree1 Disagree0

Good move by gers if fans got in for free near or just after kick-off time, made a better atmosphere and more pies, etc being sold. At the same time less gate money given to an SPL club. Sorry 'Well. watp

27 Sep 2012 23:03:19
it seems to me to be 2 scenarios here.
1. CG expected a bumper crowd and had suitable levels of staffing/police/cateering to manage - for the supposed not walking away fan base that wasn't the case, thus freebies in an attempt to purchase food, give appearance on tv of nearly full stadium etc etc.
2. An inept set up that one again can't handle large crowds as has been shown already this season. TV most likely forced issue due to scheduling and game had to kick off on time. If that was the case then 99% of those milling around just before k/o would have been expecting to pay and so lost revenue. Its unprecedented and will certainly make a lot of people think of acting in same manner next time around there's a decnt profile TV game

no wonder your crowd was 10k more than celtic's tonight - you were letting the punters in for free!!

Haha each day I think "thats the laughs stopped, they can't get any funnier" then bang! Lol

Keep it up. This is like one big train crash all in slow motion!

I believe you even need to pay to watch Hill of Beath Swifts but low and behold you can get into Ibrox to watch the new club for nowt!

14737 was tics attendance. 29,413 was Gers'.

That makes a difference of 14676.

What school did you go to?

Agree9 Disagree3

Op you weren't laughing at us letting punters in for free you were greeting thinking why can't Celtic do that. Simple cause your chairman does not give a toss about you. Seriously how f,cked up are Celtic fans

@2. Our chairman doesnt give a stuff about us? That is laughable from a Rangers fan who's last two chairman killed thier club and the chairman of your brand new shiny one lies to you just about every time he opens his mouth!

The attendance was more like 29,412 let the giant killing continue

Believable6 Unbelievable7

Giant killing.... what giant.

Motherwell no internationalists, and meager wages in SPl. Hardly benfica or real madrid ?

They draw 3-3 with aberdeen, 2-0 with gers, and will get spanked by celtic this weekend.

Giants!

Agree10 Disagree7

Correct me if am wrong but at the time of the game Motherwell were top of sphell hence being the best team in Scotland at the time doesn't say much for the tic does it

Agree4 Disagree5

Top by two points having played a game more than Celtic who are one win away from top spot and have been concentrating on the Champions League. Only 7 games played in a 38 game season. You bears just love to believe that last night was a shock unexpected result haha anything to make the pain of your situation better lol.

Agree4 Disagree0

So by your reckoning peterhead are the best team in the 3rd division

Have to say thought Alexander did great tonight. For a man who has played second best for a long time, he showed what a good goalie he is. His save from the free kick low to his left was first class.

Whilst in the mood to praise, Emilson was much, much better tonight, he looked a class act. Aird is a breath of fresh air, so direct. However I thought Hutton deserves a big
mention. Thought he did a great job tonight and if he plays like that he has to play. When you consider that we were without Black & Templeton, tonight was a real good performance.

And lastly yet again the crowd were superb. For a game that was shown live on BBC to get a crowd like that was superb. Our friends across the city were sadly posted missing in recent games but that's no surprise. The fact that they are in SPL and getting beaten and no criticism forthcoming is the beginning of a decline in their crowds. They don't care if they beaten now because it doesn't matter, they know they will win the league. If they were in this position if we were there they would be calling for Lennons head.

Believable18 Unbelievable7

Lennon wouldn't stick at the Celtic job if he was in the 3rd division.

Agree18 Disagree5

Weren't 75% of the punters on here a week ago calling for the head of McCoist and most were crying out for McCall to be manger . Just enjoy your win and stop boring people with this we can get a bigger crowd than yous crap.........DH

Agree10 Disagree3

Maybe that's because Lennons capabilities mean that he's above the Third Division.

He certainly wouldn't need to manage a side of Celtic or heaven forbid a reincarnation of them because Celtic pay their bills.

Credit where credits due, that was the best performance since the Celtic game last September, I love seeing players run at defenders and we have been lacking that for ages, and once Templetons back we will be spoilt for choice.
Rightly so young Fraser Aird should take many plaudits but I would also like to point out Kyle Hutton who I thought ran the show in the midfield, this boy must be given a chance now.
It's too soon to get carried away and we will find out this weekend if lessons have been learned but tonights performance proves that the players have the ability.
Long may it continue.

The hysteria around one result for our newly formed club is a sad reflection of where we are at.
For the many it masks the realities if what has and is happening down Ibrox way.

Believable17 Unbelievable18

Bah humbug!

Why can't we enjoy this result, we have had little to cheer about lately.

@2 Not a Gers fan but I was happy for you all last night as you have been through so much(some well deserved ok)but this season has been bad in Div 3.So I for one was glad you got something to lift you all ---esp. the kids---Keep thinking how I'd feel if it was my team.
You see, some of us do have a heart. Not saying I miss you ,well, miss the extra edge a bit.
Anyway just wanted to congratulate the win and see a few smiling faces this morning---not seen for months.

God I love the Rangers. I feel so good tonight and I really didn't fancy our chances. Great performances from the young boys which is all good for the future.

The fans, once again turned up in good numbers despite it being shown live. The atmosphere was great yet again.

There were times I thought I may never see them
again and even though we are where we are, the true Rangers spirit was on full show tonight.

We will be back and when we win the SPL, if there is such a thing, will be the best ever. That will be some party!

Going to bed a happy bear tonight, just to see some grit, fight, determination, and no little ability. Well done guys!
