Why not just let murty take control for rest of the season, only time we matched Celtic was when he was in charge, could and have done worse.

28 Oct 2017 22:13:22
to me there is no doubt our best player over this season has been Tavernier, funny how with certain players people cannot wait to slag at every opportunity but say zilch when has cracking game.

28 Oct 2017 23:40:37
rangeken I agree! Most have been vocal about Tav but don't comment much about the left side because Waldo is there ( been through the dark times . ) I for one have been a Tav abuser ( vocally ) in the past but the lad has been one of our best players this term! I've missed one game this season home or away and for me he's been more defensive minded . We have a right wing back that has a bit of skill and forward thinking but our team management hasn't played the lad where he should be played ( Warbs or Pedro ) . On another note how refreshing is Murty's interviews pre and post match as he seems to know what the actual f**k is needed by this great club . The man talks sense in a civil manner which the only ever time in the past two years where I've heard this is when he was interim the last time lol

29 Oct 2017 01:54:23
How many goals have we conceded at the back post on our right side? Loads is the answer. Tav posted missipng too often. He had no clue that Burke was behind him on wed night when they scored. Never our best player in a month of sundays.

29 Oct 2017 16:29:08
I agree parky, on both sides of the pitch, time and time again we see the opposition pumping a long pass out to their wings, and our full backs are at least 30 yards the wrong side of where the ball is landing, then its a cross into the middle and the usual panic. I know the modern way is apparently to have attacking full backs, but ours seem to be caught out of position all of the time

28 Oct 2017 15:13:03
graham potter and billy reid. cheaper option and doing wonders in sweden. got a low team into europa league. beat galatasary this year. won the swedish cup. looking like last 32 of europa league. knows the scottish league as well as europe. much better than mcinnes.

28 Oct 2017 19:59:07
Big rangers man Reid too and wouldn’t take any shite. Not a bad shout. Also I’d keep mccrorie and Wilson playing at the back . Alves has been poor imo.

30 Oct 2017 08:42:15
Right guys, here goes! We all have our opinions on who we want, as the next rangers manager! Personally derek mcinnes is a good manager but we imo must aim higher! Our DOF mark allen is going to have a big say, in who our new manager, is going to be! He's been on record in saying how highly he rates patrick vieira as a manager/ head coach! He's worked with vieira at city for a few years and are close friends! It got me wondering or hoping or both! I'll put it out there to all my fellow bears and of course your good self ED! Would you want and think there's any chance of patrick vieira, becoming our new manager? He's very highly rated and did well at city and is doing very well over in america! If it were to happen, what a statement that would send out to all our fans and everyone else in scottish football!

28 Oct 2017 14:35:37
Fantastic response to Pedro getting the heave ho. It looked like that was a completely different team. Every player was excellent particularly Mcrorie imo. Great goals from Kenny and even windass even though he was missing a bit but hopefully that goal will kick him on. Now listen why don't we save a few bob and give Murty a go what is there to lose! Ed can we have a poll please giving Murty a go for the rest of the season? Well done Rangers. #itsahappysaturday.

28 Oct 2017 14:57:18
I agree, listened on the radio, commentators were impressed with the fight in the gers midfield today "compared to recent weeks", hope that they can kick on now. Murty played 7, won 4 drawn 1, I think he should be given a few weeks now to see what difference he makes rather than making a quick rushed replacement of pedro

28 Oct 2017 14:29:31
Well done, again Graeme Murty. I would have left him in charge last season. This guy has got something. Hope whoever comes in makes him their assistant manager.

28 Oct 2017 14:43:22
Totally agree, the guy is class. Speaks well and with a lot of sense. Maybe Michael O’Neill with Murty as assistant would be a good combo?

28 Oct 2017 23:22:06
The fact he played at a good level I believe is the reason the players respond and he knows how to get his point across, the last two were not footballers and this will cause problems, by being unable to personally see things through the eyes of the players and keeping their respect. Murty is a former international and premiership player and most of all likeable I'd have him as manager any day

29 Oct 2017 11:07:35
Aye credit where it's due. Hearts were poor but we dug in and ground it out. Well done guys! And pleased for Graham Murty

28 Oct 2017 14:09:33
*we have a better squad this season

28 Oct 2017 14:08:26
Great result today for the Bears in a hard fought game. Chuffed for the boys and glad we finally started to take our chances at crucial times. No need to get carried away as Hearts were poor 2nd half but the fixture run is ok leading into Aberdeen double header so hopefully we can build momentum! One thing is clear to me however unsuccessful Pedro was results wise,

28 Oct 2017 14:06:55
Now THAT'S a halftime team talk.

28 Oct 2017 13:20:22
Thank God for Miller.

Ross Mccrorie looks like he'll be a great player with time.

28 Oct 2017 14:02:25
Great goal Josh - give the boy some credit guys

29 Oct 2017 11:00:08
Our desicion making is terrible at times. we’re not playing to badly but we’l b relying on Kenny til he's abt 60.fair play to big Kyle for not milking what was a peach of a goal. Big daft Clubfoot should take note after his antics on Wed nite

29 Oct 2017 11:02:45
Just think, there was people on here slating miller and backing pedro.

28 Oct 2017 12:26:18
The Board can't afford to make another mistake with this appointment. Who knows what money will be found to get the right man? We need someone to come in and hit the ground running, so that is where the like of McLeish, Big Sam or Moyes would fit the bill. No to McInnes or Davies for me. I hope Murty oversees a good win today and we have a good run of SPL fixtures in November, so progress might be made before our double-header with Aberdeen.

28 Oct 2017 10:48:51
Anybody else think that billy Reid would be a good shout? He did a good job Hamilton. Thoughts.

28 Oct 2017 13:39:34
Brilliant I'd take him

28 Oct 2017 15:10:10
id take the guy he is working with in sweden. they seem to be doing wonders there. would also keep murty and JJ on as well.

28 Oct 2017 22:45:13
No. in a nutshell

28 Oct 2017 10:39:47
Kenny for a hatrick today!

28 Oct 2017 12:58:37
He shouldn’t be in starting XI, his touch is shocking. Should be on bench.

28 Oct 2017 13:54:21
Is that you clamped back in your box yet scotty?

28 Oct 2017 15:23:25
He can't speak for the foot in his mouth Rafbob.

28 Oct 2017 15:57:48
Brilliant one Parky!
Love him or hate him, Kenny Miller is still some player for us! What about that ball to Windass for his goal? And to think that some on here, and others, backed that Muppet Pedro over one of our own! Disgraceful contempt shown to a guy who has got us out of many a hole over the years! Take a bow Kenny lad -pure class!

28 Oct 2017 17:24:43
I’ll happily take that response from Miller. I still believe that he’s finished tho lol adrenaline is a wonderful thing and the games Iv bn to this season he has had a touch like a baby elephant. Took his goals very well today tho 👏🏻👏🏻

29 Oct 2017 11:08:20
It was bound to happen Sorry!

28 Oct 2017 09:46:57
As i said on Monday McInnes is the man for the job, and if Sir Walter is saying the same thing that is good enough for me.
Big Sam would be great but in all honesty with the money he would demand and the large backroom staff he would bring and with paying Pedro off i doubt very much that kind of money just isn't there, McIness would of course demand a significant fee but his wages etc would be no where mear big Sam

28 Oct 2017 14:47:13
would rather leave murty there until we get the right man at right price

28 Oct 2017 22:40:24
I will support and back whoever is the next manager. For me though not sure about Mcinnes.

His aberdeen team have been 2nd best of a bad bunch as rangers have been poor. When have aberdeen done well in Europe or beaten Celtic. 2nd best not good enough.

Brendan Rodgers is a good manager / coach. We need to be thinking that level. Get the best out our team. I think we have good players in there. A few adds and get rids with the proper coach. I reckon we’d challenge all the way

28 Oct 2017 09:17:56
No trying to be funny . But put all politics aside . Neil lennon ticks all the boxes . Can buy cheap and flip for money . Gets the team fighting and wins however they need too. And has an ok record in europe . Came closest to beating celtic too . Anyone agree polutics aside he is a better shoyt than del

28 Oct 2017 09:38:47
It's a non starter I can see your points he is a good manager and he talks well but do you really think he would come to us do you really think the fans would accept him and do you really think the media would give us any peace will just not happen

28 Oct 2017 10:04:13
I would be happy with McInnes, not just because he played for us and understands the pressures of the Club (although a big bonus) I like how he conducts himself with the press etc. He is well respected by his players, he has built a fairly strong side at his current club on a limited budget, has age on his side, has been shrewd in the transfer market and knows Scottish football which is what we need to steady the ship. Going forward I think he could build us a strong side with more resources available to him than he currently has . Considering all that I think he is much less of a gamble than some names mentioned, particularly those who are currently out of work . Everyone of course will have their own opinion.

28 Oct 2017 10:25:22
When was the last time McInnes beat Celtic? How many trophies has he won? How have they done in Europe with this great team he has put together. How many of this great team are in international squads. I think a reality check is needed. At the moment they are 2nd best in a bad bunch, that's all!
We need better than that please.

28 Oct 2017 10:35:39
I agree bil72. What's the fascination with mcinnes. he's done jack! Not for me. We need a big name manager not a wannabe

28 Oct 2017 10:42:14
Everyone has to start somewhere bil72 and to work within the budgets parameters set by who they manage. Rangers would give more scope and is a progression for McInnes no matter what anyone says . A reality check would be realising where we are just now and that Celtic are further in front of us at present and your arguement about beating them and winning trophies would exclude most people listed for the job other than Walter Smith or McLeish . All about opinion .

28 Oct 2017 22:45:20
I seen MoJo do it and that was a shock but green teeth to Rangers would probably be the most shocking moment in world football

28 Oct 2017 08:45:43
Therrs one man i would love our club to go for but i think he may be out our league is VAN BRONCHHURST what a job he has done at his club but i think it will be mciness

28 Oct 2017 09:12:42
They recently got pumped 4-1 at home to ajax

28 Oct 2017 08:30:22
Hi to all, first post here. Very interesting and entertaining forum, If I can call it that? Are there any other autistic bears on the site? So many names being bandied about it is hard to keep up. I appreciate the people wanting Walter, Ferguson, Allerdyce etc, surely a manager with a proven European track record as well as domestic would be the soundest option. I like McInnes, but he has no real record in Europe, Moyes has but I am unsure. I know a lot of fellow fans would like a Scottish manager, but to succeed in future CL, Europa looking farther afield may be the best option. Though they are somewhat thin on the ground.

28 Oct 2017 09:02:14
100% treefinger! Everyone on the McInnes bandwagon fails to mention his record in Europe is poor and Has been found wanting against fairly mediocre European sides in the Europa qualifiers over the past 3/ 4 seasons that they’ve been in them. If the board want him then I’ll back him 100% but I’d rather go elsewhere to be honest

28 Oct 2017 09:22:01
My thoughts are on a new manager yes we need someone who understands the demands of Scottish football but we need someone who can harness a few flair players to. compete in Europe because if we can't compete then what are we.

28 Oct 2017 10:36:53
Absolutely @Wee_Bear. No disrespect toward DM. I saw a post regarding Homme, the ex Belgian Goalkeeper, IMO, it makes pretty good reading, his CV. Of course everyone has and is completely entitled to their opinion. I also fully understand the concerns regarding foreign managers/ coaches. Looking over the years almost every manager from a certain country that moves to another always recruit players from where they came. PC, DA, were no different. I do find that the Portuguese and similar countries clearly do produce talented footballers but also lazy hotheads too.

28 Oct 2017 15:54:49
The new manager is staring you in the face, he was in charge today. Get a good advisor to work with him.

28 Oct 2017 07:46:41
I may be way off here but l have niggling concerns about the likes of Derek McInnes, Tommy Wright although they know the SPL inside out, would they come with a settle for second attitude, we can't beat them. It is just something concerning me, would they have the can't beat them mindset. Just throwing it out there.

28 Oct 2017 08:40:50
One man no one mentioned gordon strachan? For the fans who want mcinnes he could be your anser to take over the sheep so mcinnes heads back to glasgow?

28 Oct 2017 09:26:16
No Gordon Strachan he revealed his disfunctional. loyalty to sub standard players when he was Scotland coach he is not the answer

28 Oct 2017 07:43:25
Found something interesting online concerning our club and past searches for new managers.

Will post a link, but here are some of the names listed in an article from late 1997 when Sir Walter Smith was set to leave and before Advocaat.

Richard Moller Neilsen
Sven Goran Erikkson
Craig Brown
Jim Jeffries
Kevin Keegan
Terry Venables

Now wait for it.

Young up and coming Scot at Wolves named Mark Mcghee.

Coco Cola cup winner Martin O Neill.

28 Oct 2017 07:40:42
Why are people suggesting big sam, coleman, pulis for manager? There is absolute no chance any of these would want the job, absolute no chance. It better not be that banger billy davies, lmfao lol. You all know who I want and I have stated the reasons why, which speak for themselves. Another huge issue is how do we get shot of pena, herrera etc. How anyone saw a player in them, never mind paying 5mil for them is so far beyond me. Dave King really has to step up to the mark here, they made an arse of it not the supporters, so he better dig deep and not expect us to sort this financial mess out again. Who saw this coming?

28 Oct 2017 08:44:50
We need to push the boat out and get a proper manager. None of this experimental pish. Sam allerdyce got the England job yes he was sacked for dodgy dealing but is that job not all about man management since you can't buy the players. We can't currently buy any decent players but get the big man in to manage them properly

28 Oct 2017 09:18:24
and the **** press would have a field day, wedont need skeletons in the cupboard

28 Oct 2017 01:57:08
I said this before and i will say it again. HARRY REDNAPP is the man.

Nobody knows the game and a good player like Harry.

Please Dave King and Directors hire HARRY REDNAPP.

28 Oct 2017 22:36:27
would harry bring his dug with him?

28 Oct 2017 00:42:15
Tell you one thing. Murtys right. He bores the rubbish out of me expect more points dropped till we get a genuine real manager.

28 Oct 2017 00:05:38
Steve Robinson is a very simple choice before he leaves Scottish football for the promised land.
