no chance rangers are getting jason cummings likes, just sayin

30 Jan 2017 00:19:17
We don't want cummings he is not good enough for Rangers you can keep him.

30 Jan 2017 01:14:30
Cummings is more than good enough mate! he can score goals and runs for 90 miss! @

30 Jan 2017 02:12:15
No chance Cummings good enough for Rangers

30 Jan 2017 08:24:05
Cummings would walk into the team right into the strikers role.

30 Jan 2017 08:31:15
Cummings would be good enough for rangers, but I don't want hI'm any ware near ibrox

30 Jan 2017 09:26:30
Cummings is a far better finisher than Garner and Waghorn so I don't know how anyone can say he isn't good enough

30 Jan 2017 15:07:20
I don't think it is the player's infield ability that is the problem it is the fact that he is a bit of a ned that switches people off!

30 Jan 2017 18:21:24
stewie u say he is a way better finisher than waggy but where is your evidence on this when has he went on a route in the spl? when? how many did he score?

lets face it he has a worse personality than barton and also has only been proven in a lower league so don't start with aww that carry on that he is better than waggy.

waggy had a dry spell got dropped and then when he does get a game he gets played out of position he is a through the middle type player that can bully defenders but warbs insist on making him a winger which is clear for everyone to see he is not a winger

29 Jan 2017 16:21:17
No doubting the quality of these loan players but doesn't say much for the rest of squad if we have to rely on these loan players mackay and miller this is supposed to be warburtons team yet we are resorting to 6 months loans to secure us second in the league just shows how many poor players he has brought to the club at the end of season we will be back to square one and have to really on same players again good result but we need to win a few games in a row.

29 Jan 2017 16:30:55
His primary objective was to get us in the Premier League. He brought in players to do that but was well aware that he would need to upgrade the quality for an assault on the top league. It did't work out as planned with Rossiter, Barton and Krancjar and we saw Windass and Crooks also injured so he had no option but to rely on the previous crop of players.

I have to believe that with the appropriate level of investment and some of the promised £30 from King that he would have preferred to purchase players like Hyndman rather than take them on loan but when you are shopping in the bargain basement then you have to rely on what you can get!

We saw yesterday the difference that quality makes and it is pretty obvious that we are still three or four quality players short!

29 Jan 2017 16:35:07
Not every loan player goes back to their parent club.

29 Jan 2017 16:43:07
One step at a time.

We have already seen some of the £30m invested in the club. how do you think the bills are being paid at the moment given the huge annual losses?

Of course quality counts but quality costs good money. Also, how do we attract the top talent to play Sunday league football compared with the EPL. The standard of our game in Scotland has plummeted in recent years mainly due to the poor financial situation for all but one club.

29 Jan 2017 17:17:09
BR65 Wit money have they invested? If I'm correct the club has raked in over18mil in season ticket sales were is that money? Al king and the board are doing is providing loans which are to be paid back in the form of shares, we're are the fans shares? Putting there hard earned money into the club, if the board leaned us money the benefit from it don't forget that. At the end of the day this manager has no clue and it has not been good enough from Mr King and Co. This has been a wasted year. Simples.

29 Jan 2017 17:37:01
Bluenose84,

Here is the actual definition of the word investment: an act of devoting time, effort, or energy to a particular undertaking with the expectation of a worthwhile result.

Wasted year? Sitting second in our first season back up, the current team can't realistically be doing better than they are.

The club costs a lot to run and maintain so that takes a big chunk of season ticket money.

There is no spare cash to make big signings, regardless of what amount was suggested would be put in by King that is the simple fact.

If you don't see how investment has been made then you must not have noticed the lights are still on at Ibrox.

29 Jan 2017 18:09:37
Nail on the head with your first point Bluenose84.

Dave King promised that in our first season back in the top flight that he would 'overinvest' by trebling wages at Ibrox or more if Celtic increased their spending.

Is there a single bear out there naive enough to think he has kept to that promise?

29 Jan 2017 18:23:08
Bluenose £18 mill in season ticket sales. The cost to run the club is around £30 mill a year so you work out where the money has gone. If king and co don't lend money to the club then it goes out of business. Either rhat or charge another £300 per season ticket and £60 a game. Then see how many buy a season ticket. The fans pay their money to be entertained not to be paid back in shares. If you don't like it don't buy a ticket.

29 Jan 2017 18:26:50
I think you can give kenny miller the rangers player of the year just now! Its testament to how kenny looks after himself, in the twilight of his career! What a role model he is for our young players at ibrox! A total thoroughbred and hurry up board of directors and offer kenny miller the one year contract he so rightfully deserves! I still say he's a future rangers manager in the waiting, a few years down the line!

29 Jan 2017 18:37:42
King was specific in what he would be investing in and it was playing staff. I do not doubt for a moment that the 'Three Bears' and the guys from the Far East have invested by way of soft loans but I am struggling to see what monies King, specifically has invested. He was full of BS again earlier in the season when yet again he said that investment would be available in January which, with two days to go until the window closes we have so far brought in two loanees and offset part of that by putting Crooks out on loan.

King will no doubt be full of sound bites later in the season when it is time for season ticket renewal! He sounds more and more like David Murray every day but at least with Murray he was resident in the UK and was not an absentee landlord!

Until such time as we see the currently theoretical investment monies for players, specifically from King I will remain sceptical about his ability as well as his intentions to make serious investment in the Club.

29 Jan 2017 20:10:00
Top post Rafbob, and looks like we could go on a decent cup run. Also with 48 hrs remaining of the transfer window think we may still be in for a surprise outfield acquisition.

29 Jan 2017 20:15:14
the fans have well and trully backed the board and the club and we always will but serious questions have got to be asked of david king why promise so much and fail to stick to these promises would like to see that question asked of king and answerd by him truthfully as for warburton the sums of money he has had to buy players devoplment fee wages ect only 2 of his players this year is gaurnteed a game and that's garner and hill i personally would not give warburton big sums of money to spend and now loooks like windass is going be shoved out the team to make way for 6 month loan players with no sell on value for our team
I would much rather play burt windass and gilmour in those postions we are back to short term fixes again with no plan in place

29 Jan 2017 21:00:45
JohnnyMac 30 milion to run us each season is absolute nonsense. Our wage bill is around 7-8 million. Maybe 2 mil a season to pay other staff and up keep ibrox and the traing grounds. That leaves at least 8 mil? In my opinion the fans have kept Rangers afloat not the board. We deserve better and more transparency about the boards plan for the future. DK no where to be seen.

29 Jan 2017 21:36:14
Have to agree with bluenose about transparency, before this board there was to much coming from meetings and now we rarely hear anything.

29 Jan 2017 22:01:45
Bluenose84 it's not really difficult to check the facts- google our accounts to see what the overhead before player investment is.

Why do you think we continue to post losses and not profits?

30 Jan 2017 07:10:19
Think most of the comments on here could be wiped if people realised we can't spend or our deficit will go over Uefa regulation and won't be able to play in Europe. It's only common sense from the board. This is what happens when you read the DR. Keith Jackson's tales of doom.

30 Jan 2017 08:25:58
The fans have done their part by getting season tickets. The board have done their part with the soft loans but they can only go so far we have no income via the strip or merchant so looks like we just have to bide our time till the fat scumbag is gone.

30 Jan 2017 11:55:59
TOMUS is right when he says M. W would probably like to buy the likes of Hyndman etc, but you can't shop at Harrods with and expect Woolies prices

29 Jan 2017 16:15:33
I'm really happy we won could have been a banana skin for us but great to see super Kenny do it wan even again and hiyndman spelling getting a goal to really good loan deals pity they have to go back hope we extend there time with us.

This season is a good learning curve for who will go and who deserve to stay
Next season is going to be great if we get investment and bring in more quality
There is a gap but get the right players in I'm confident we will be a lot stronger and take what's ours.

29 Jan 2017 15:26:29
Why are we allowing the kid Gilmore got to Chelsea? He should be promoted to the first team squad and given a pay rise. He wouldn't be the first 15 year old to play first team football at Rangers.

While we are on the subject, Rangers should also start bringing in some of these promising kids they have been scouting. Knox at Livingston, Gallagher at Falkirk and Nicholson at Hearts could all be brought in at minimal outlay and would be first team squad ready with bags of scope for development. Much less risky than forking out over £1m for Garner.

29 Jan 2017 16:32:55
I haven't seen anywhere that Gilmore is going to Chelsea and I suspect that the reason why we have not gone for these players is that we don't have the money. Only David King and his co-Directors can answer this question!

29 Jan 2017 16:34:20
Who said we are allowing Gilmour go he's 15 we can't offer him a contract until he's 16, he's been promoted to the u20s, trained with the first team last week. He's not ready for first team action. We have done everything we can to show him he has a future with us its down to him to decide.

As for Knox and Gallagher we'll just have to wait and see

29 Jan 2017 16:45:43
So we should not put 15 year old kids on the park to stop them accepting financial security with Chelsea?

Get real, kids won't improve our team and no kid in their right mind can afford to turn down Chelsea's big money. it's the real world whether we like it or not.

29 Jan 2017 16:49:43
He might be a quality player but if he played against some of the senior lads his legs would be taken away and his development would be stunted.

Knox is happy where he is, Nicholson is a possibility in the summer as cathro says he is just getting to know the lad and Barcelona and Manchester United are also looking at the lad Gallagher.

The only likely signing for us is Nicholson.

29 Jan 2017 18:24:56
He can't play for the first team until he is 16 he hasn't got a proffesional contract.

29 Jan 2017 20:42:46
He's small for a 15 year old as well, really small

29 Jan 2017 14:31:50
I think we should be doing everything possible to hold onto young Gilmour. Looking likely that Chelsea are going to take him from us. We have no cash to buy talent so surely paying the lad a bit extra and promoting him through to first team quickly is only way forward. This lad has potential to be a real star so benefits on park and financially in a few years far outweighs 150k

29 Jan 2017 14:46:13
At the age of 15 all he has is potential and we shouldn't be held to ransom by a kid, no matter how good he looks. I've coached at that level and saw dozens of boys just as good as him (at Rangers and elsewhere) who never made it. If he and his parents want to listen to the cash grabbers who have no interest in his future development, there's not much we can do except wish him all the luck he will need when he's rotting away on loan at Oxford, Northampton, MK Dons and the rest.

29 Jan 2017 15:13:47
Yeah if he wants to go then let him. Chelsea cram their youth teams with young players like him and only very few actually make it to the Chelsea first team. He may do it he may not however it does look like greed on his or his parents part if he opts for Chelsea

29 Jan 2017 16:06:34
Got to disagree guys. How many young players has rangers got out on loan the now. So who is to say he shall get a game at rangers? Money talks in all aspects of life.

29 Jan 2017 16:36:46
He needs to be very careful. I have first hand knowledge of quality young players whose parents, and them, got carried away with the lure of cash only to find that a few years later they were on the scrapheap and playing for teams like Bury or Southport!

Sometimes the grass in not as green on the other side as people think and oftenn it is the parents that are to blame.

29 Jan 2017 17:38:18
You're right wee-ecky, if he doesn't want to play for the famous glasgow rangers, that's his choice! Let him go and we move on! I don't want any player at rangers being kept against there will! If they're not committed to our club then they leave and we get players in who want to be here! Simple as that and just like wee-ecky says young boys as good as billy gilmour at that age have left our club and other clubs in general before! that's football guys!

29 Jan 2017 18:26:30
Have you seen the size of him he's tiny he looks like an 11 yr old no way is he ready for 1st team football,

29 Jan 2017 19:34:30
Totally agree bigrfc he's nowhere near ready for the first team he's far to light weight just now hopefully he stays but if he goes good luck to the kid there is nothing to suggest he will play 1st team with us we hardly a great club for promoting youth apart from McKay but hopefully that is something that does change in the next few years only time will tell

30 Jan 2017 08:27:47
He needs to be left to grow and mature before being flung in. Derek Johnstone bad a man's body at 16 that's why he got the nod so young. Even fleck at 16 he wasn't tall but he was broad and filled out. Gilmour looks like he's about 8 stone.

29 Jan 2017 12:58:41
A think senderos should b given a chance and to b hinest don't think much of clint hill he is supposed to b expeirenced and yet yesterday gave away daft fouls and also trys to much for an offside decision witch cost us a goal against motherwell and can be much more dangerous

29 Jan 2017 13:15:14
I agree. I'd give Senderos a chance. Can't be any worse than Kiernan

29 Jan 2017 13:39:57
How can you blame Hill for the Motherwell goal? kiernan was the only guy who didn't step out in fact he stepped in because he was to busy watching his player who he managed to lose a couple of seconds later. Look at his reaction he knew it was his fault. Hill has steadied the defence he's not brilliant but better than we had.

29 Jan 2017 14:45:07
Keirnan has no positional awareness whatsoever. In the game against motherwell there he again was guilty of being too deep and playing someone onside. He has no clue what his defensive partner is doing because he always too busy ball watching. Whenever he loses his man or like the game there when he makes a wayward pass he immediately turns and blames another player.

29 Jan 2017 15:16:35
Parky7720

Great post mate and I'm amazed some fans still think he is the answer. He is truly awful and has cost so many goals by either poor passing, bad positioning or losing his marker. He got away with it big time yesterday firstly with the wreck less tackle then with McDonald missing that sitter.

29 Jan 2017 16:01:18
Hill can't even play offside trap if you Watch it back you will see he is the only one who steps out.

29 Jan 2017 16:38:03
I am surprised how Wallace escapes criticism. He was at fault for the Motherwell goal as was Kiernan.

29 Jan 2017 17:01:06
TOMUSA

Sorry but you can't lay the blame on Wallace as much as you can on Kiernan. Kiernan is very prone to losing his marker and this seems to happen on a weekly basis.

29 Jan 2017 18:52:24
Stevie, I wouldn't have Kiernan in the team; indeed other than Hill and the young lad we got from Raith Rovers I don't rate any of our central defenders. That said, I do not believe that either Wallace or Tavernier are great defenders. They are both excellent in attack and are good overlapping full backs but just watch how many times Wallace gets caught up the field and can't get back into position, look at how he gets dragged into the middle and the ease with which opposition wingers get crosses in is a worry.

He is still our best defender and would probably be a lot better if he had a holding midfield player that could protect the defence so until Halliday is replaced in that position we will always have problems defensively.

Sadly, Wallace is not a leader and badly miss a Gough, Butcher, Amoruso, Ferguson style captain.

29 Jan 2017 18:56:10
Think if u watch it back cee you will see that they all stepped out keirnan was at least 5 yards behind everybody else

29 Jan 2017 20:45:59
You are correct bigblue Ayr, but if you look at Wallace he should never have allowed the ball to be crossed and he was not aware that Kiernan was playing the guy onside as can be seen by the fact that he was claiming for offside!

30 Jan 2017 03:21:41
He shouldn't have to watch what the rest of back 4 are doing Tom the fact 3 of them are up and keirnan way behind says it all. I do agree he could have blocked the cross but if keirnan wasn't dreaming boy would have been well of n there wouldn't have been a cross to block! You just know he's going to have at least a howler a game

30 Jan 2017 15:15:36
Big Blue, I know what you are saying but Wallace is the Captain, he should be organising his defence and he should be screaming at his centre backs to get out, the problem with Kiernan is that every game you are expecting him to make one mistake or lose concentration at a crucial time.

If he had a Souness, Gough, Butcher, Ferguson or even Roberts as his captain they would have crucified him by now for his mistakes. Wallace needs to show some leadership qualities in that team.

29 Jan 2017 11:41:17
If we miss out on 2nd spot in the league who should get the blame?

DK
MW
DK & MW
Players
DK,MW & PLayers.

im worried as it is a possibility.

29 Jan 2017 12:04:05
2nd or 3rd doesn't make a big diff

29 Jan 2017 12:08:53
For me, no one. We assembled our team 18months ago and got in a relatively inexperienced manager. 6 months ago, we added even more players to the squad, most of which didn't work out. King did not promise £30m for players. He said the club needs as much as £30m investment (not all of which will be on the playing squad), some of which will come from him. To date, king and his pals have invested over £12m so far. No other way to get money into a corporate structure except through loans or a rights issue which was on hold. We just got promoted to spl where Celtic have went on a record breaking run. What can we possibly do to make them drop points against the likes of St johnstone or hamilton etc? We've had draws that once we improve will become wins. They've been on a run of form that hopefully won't repeat itself again. Had we been up against last seasons Celtic and some of our draws this season were wins, the point gap would be much much smaller. Aye, we make mistakes and Celtic are making none, but this season is a fluke season. We will improve and are improving.

29 Jan 2017 14:33:34
Yes true words, i don't see them repeating this season and we surely will improve for next, second place finish then we will need, NEED a better standard of player, otherwise qualifying for europe was for nothing in the first place, i predict a good season next season and surely it will happen

29 Jan 2017 17:10:26
Punter, For me it is quite simple. Warburton and Weir.

DK (and others) has made funds available although not just for players.

Players can't be blamed for not being gpood enough. Most are just journeymen.

Warburton has had a lot more than any other manager (outwith them) and has wasted over £2 mil on Garner and MOH.
He picks the team and sets the system, continues to stick by a few empty jerseys meaning we are men down before we start.
Big Weir? Well you would think he could organise a defence but obviously not so what is he getting paid to do? .

Blame will lie at the door of W and W

29 Jan 2017 16:50:54
Need to get real about things people will mention the wage budget but this is a squad of players who have only been bonding for about a year and 2nd dpot would be a amazing finish considering how well aberdeen and hearts have been of late. can't be delusional like some fans who are thinking 2nd place is unacceptable.

There is a lot of talent in our squad we just need that run of great performaces to get the confidence up dor the start of next season, then bring in a few players (2 strikers preferably a big poacher a winger and a centre half) and 2nd should more or less be guaranteed next season

29 Jan 2017 18:16:09
Papabear how can you say the season is a fluke Celtic have not fluked one game this season and have you stopped to think for one second that Celtic are adding to there squad Eboue for 2.8 million and will continue to add quality rather than quantity .

So surely Celtic are improving as a team as well, and unless the signing policy at rangers changes to actually building a team instead of plugging the gaps with 2nd rate players who can't get a game at there clubs then this season will be on repeat for next season and seasons to come.

29 Jan 2017 19:24:51
Dth100, I get what u are saying and understand your frustration. The reason why I think it's a fluke season is this is Celtic's best ever start since Lisbon lions (their best ever team) . Compare to Celtic of last season and it's a huge difference for them. They've made 3 notable changes, a new manager, Sinclair and dembele. Remember that player they signed for £3m odd, bangura was it? Didn't work out. It just so happened this season it did work out. I don't think Celtic have fluked any games as they've been the better team for most of them, but their season as a whole is a fluke, a one off. I doubt it'll be repeated again next season and I doubt they'll make any further signings that'll have the same impact on them as Sinclair has had.

29 Jan 2017 11:28:34
I know I'm stating the obvious but Wednesday's game is HUGE for us if we beat Hearts it basically puts them out of the race for second and puts more pressure on Aberdeen.

29 Jan 2017 12:05:19
Plenty of games left, but it would be a great win

29 Jan 2017 14:54:37
MW needs to win a big away game so far he has lost then all 2 to Hibs and Falkirk last season and Celtic, Aberdeen and Hearts this season.

29 Jan 2017 16:40:01
DK and only because he shouted his mouth off that he would invest and so far the investment has not been forthcoming. We still need three or four quality players and that will not change until there is serious investment in the team.

29 Jan 2017 10:58:49
My thoughts on yesterday's game:
1) Miller has earned a contract extension, no doubt
2) halliday continues to struggle DM role
3) kiernan remains a bomb scare and could very easily have been sent off
4) I fear we won't see MoH start a game again for us this season and will be sold in the summer
5) Hyndman is everything I hoped Holt would be. Boys a player and shows just how below standard Holt is for me
6) McGhee was livid, this pleases me

29 Jan 2017 16:44:42
Spot on mate but I wouldn't lose any sleep if ohalleran didn't play again
