Can't argue with a 6-1 win for Scotland against anybody these days. I've remember when we struggled against the so-called smaller nations only to beat the big boys! Strachan has the team playing well, we have a few players playing in the English Premiership like Naismith, McGregor, Hutton and Fletcher and Maloney usually does well for Scotland. We can beat Ireland in Dublin then take it from there. A draw in Dublin tonight would be fine.

Maloney now plays with Chigaco Fire in the Mls.

Know that I'll sound mennntaaal, but not happy with 6-1. conceding a goal first off, then not raising tempo in second half. good could be crucial, and we've not matched Ireland or Poland. hope Poles beat Irish tonight, then we can concentrate on beating Poles at home. Sure we'll get at least a draw in Dublin.Georgia away is one that worries me.

Believable0 Unbelievable5

Prefer the draw myself, keep irish behind us nd do them nd Poland

29 Mar 2015 21:49:02
I don't think the scores against Gibralter count towards the goal difference. I'm sure UEFA discount all scores against the bottom side in the group. So if we are level with Poland and Eire at the end of the campaign the scores against Gilbralter aren't counted

I know there's mixed emotions on here bout big Lafferty just watching the N.Ireland game and the man is playing out of his skin scoring 2 one a blinder and covering every blade of grass looks like a different player, just waiting on him doing something daft and petulant to undo all his good work.

Believable5 Unbelievable1

30 Mar 2015 08:12:10
He was a young kid when he was with us, many a player has done daft things lol

What the hell is strachan thinking about with that one up? How does maloney and Fletcher warrant a game?

5 between them not a bad return for their starting births.

Agree2 Disagree0

29 Mar 2015 19:24:26
I know lol but surely there are more deserving players, I'm a moaning faced git but maloney is well past it, fletcher barely scores at all for a striker. Hanleys also a disaster lol. If they score five between them against Poland or ireland then I'll be happy!

Agreed, Scottish, support any of our teams playing in anything.like England to beat Argentina, Italy, Germany, but want them to lose to any other country in Europe. couldn't give monkey's for any result for Ireland, Wales . not into this Celtic brotherhood guff. loved it when we beat Ireland, and hope we do it again. our country not responsible for what happened to us.

I'm a proud Scot but Is it just me or do others feel the same about today's Scotland game after all that Scottish football has tryed to do to us in the last few seasons I'm not interested in the slightest in them I'll never forget!

I'm a proud scot also. I love watching Scotland play. This what scottish football did to do to us must stop. We put ourselves in this position. We need to move on and stop living in the past.

29 Mar 2015 11:40:38
It's hard to cheer Scotland on when they have players like Naismith, McGregor and Whittaker playing. To be honest I don't really care if they make it to the euros or not. Better organised under Strachan and harder to beat however don't really add anything in a football sense to the tournament and likely to be very defensive if they qualify. Used to love going to the Scotland game and was fortunate to have attended a game at Hampden when a young player named Maradona played

29 Mar 2015 11:53:38
Well said John. What else did you expect from the SFA mate?
Did you want any favours from them?People are always going to harbour grudges, but its time to move on.

29 Mar 2015 11:57:04
I'm also a proud scot, but don't really care much about the international team, its not because of any type of bitterness, as a wee boy many years ago I used to love watching Scotland but the older I got the less interested I became, I hope they win and do well, but it won't effect me in any way whether I see the game on TV or not.I much prefer watching club matches than internationals.

29 Mar 2015 12:16:54
Stewie. Wish I had seen Maradona in that game.

As for being defensive, well, I am sure you like me must have cheered on Rangers in Europe many a time when Walter played very defensively so have to disagree on that point.

Really hoping for a good Scotland performance today but some of the fans have to take a good look at themselves. Booing any national anthem is pretty poor.

Proud to be Scottish, enjoy international football as it's about glory and pride not money. Also Don't hold any grudge against former players or Scottish football as a whole.
We made our bed, not the fans but the club.

29 Mar 2015 13:59:40
I'm also very proud to be scottish and I support my country through & through, have to agree on the side of the other posters who state that it was the people running rangers that got our club into this mess in the first place, although in general I have no time for the sfa but that doesn't & shouldn't stop us patriotic scots supporting our national football team, I've always supported my country & always will, I just can't understand a so called scot supporting the likes of england when scotland & england are playing one another, fair enough supporting any the home nations when they're not playing scotland because I also like to see the home nations winning but most definitely NOT against my own country

Seem to be in a minority on this one ut that's ok got big shoulders, yes all the problems we brought on ourselves of that there is no doubt, what I'll never forget is the knives in the back from everyone and the agendas by the SFA SPL to destroy us they'll never get a penny of my money their is only one team I follow Glasgow Rangers never was much of a a Scotland follower anyway I read about the game tommorrow enjoy the match I'm going tae wash my hair and watch the paint dry! After a ยฃ370 win yesterday from a fiver I thought I'd share today's mad wee flutter.

A bit convoluted so bear with me.
OK, 6 games but put it on as a 5 fold.
N.Ireland and Romania to win
Republic Ireland v Poland both teams to score
Georgia v Germany over 2.5 goals
And Scotland to win 4-0 and 5-0

Only need 5 out of the 6 ( hence the 2 Scotland scores). ยฃ10 (2xยฃ5) will return around ยฃ500.

Possibly the most overused phrase on football forums. 'You could not make it up'. Does my nut in. You don't have to make it up, they scored. I must say, Celtic fans severely overuse it.

But even if you got your 4 or 5 the mighty Gibralter would have what you might call a Coupon Buster by scoring there first ever international goal against Scotland, ( you couldn't make it up unless it was Scotland)

Morning Bears. Can anyone tell me what the play-off formula is? I know that the bottom SPL team has to play against the teams finishing 2nd, 3rd & 4th in the Championship but I don't know the format after that.
Good result yesterday. Moshni is a liabilty so I'd like to see McGregor and Zaliukas in the middle of the defence. A win against Hearts next week will be some form of revenge.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

29 Mar 2015 09:55:58
It's basically a quarter final between 4th and 3rd.(home and away).winner of that tie plays 2nd.again home and away.winner of that tie plays 2nd bottom of premiership.home and away.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Mar 2015 10:42:30
Doiger, the bottom team in the premiership goes down automatically and will be replaced by hearts, in our league 3rd & 4th play one another over two legs then the winner of that plays the 2nd placed team again over two legs then the winner of that plays the 2nd bottom team of the premiership again over two legs to see who's in the premiership, hope that explains it for you mate

29 Mar 2015 12:13:29
Thanks Bigcol1872 and J r tennent! So if this morning's tables were the final tables and if we finish 2nd, we could play Hibs or QOS over two legs and then if we win that one, Motherwell over two legs. This could still be four tough matches.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Mar 2015 18:04:54
No matter how many games we play in the play offs it's going to be tough. If we finished 3rd I reckon we would probably sneak past QOS or Falkirk, would put the Hibs game as a 50/50 though. Think if Hibs finish 3rd could be difficult for them to beat either QOS or Falkirk. As for the 2nd bottom Premeirship got a feeling it will be Motherwell and how ironic it would be for McCall to be in charge of the team which could put them down.

29 Mar 2015 09:16:56
Have said it many times before on here, david templeton is by far the best winger we have at ibrox, I was always crying out for mccoist and then mcdowall to give him at least a run of 5 games to get him up to match speed instead of dropping him continually after 1 bad game, wingers play on confidence and if temps stays fit he undoubtedly is the man who will make the difference in the play offs, mccall certainly looks like he's going to give temps a run in the starting 11, wee templeton created most of our chances for his fellow teammates against cowdenbeath yesterday, he had a great game, he's a very skillful wingers who's a crowd pleaser with his quick, dancing feet, he's what you would call the auld tanner baw player from years gone by!

I have to hold my hands up and say I didn't think stuart McCall could do anything to change the performance of the team.4weeks. 4weeks and he has us looking 100% better already.players are bursting to play for him which is a mark of the man.before the agm I had resigned myself to the fact we probably wouldn't go up.dont get me wrong it's still not a done deal but I am I bit more optimistic now we have a manager who is tactically aware, a good man manager and prepared to give guys who impress in training regardless of age a chance.stuart McCall I salute you!

Agree2 Disagree0

29 Mar 2015 14:11:29
Bigcol 1872, I totally echo everything you say mate, I truly hope the board give stuart mccall the gig to become our permanent, longterm manager and allow him to start preparing for next season, mccall as far as I'm concerned has shown already he's a very decent manager who doesn't just stick to the rigid 4-4-2 system and is tactically astute enough to change our system to suit going against other teams weaknesses that he sees, his preparation for each individual game is spot on and very thorough, I go to all rangers games and you can already see the difference mccall has made and players are burstin' a gut to play for & impress him, I do now honestly think mccall will take us up

29 Mar 2015 03:23:02
Does anybody know if the players out on until the end of the season will be available for the six potentail play off games, if we get there?.

Not that we may want to play them but at least the will be match fit after a full season behind them and will strengthen the squad.
