I think we should be targeting the league. The probability of us winning it slim though but I would be expecting either the league cup or Scottish Cup and at worst 2nd in league within 10 pts of Celtic.

I remember the 90's when it seemed every rangers fan was safe in the knowledge that 'the ranjurs' were pulling the strings of the powers that be and that the corridors of power were firmly in the corner of the red white and blue. We were the inconsequential poor 'paranoid' tims, outcasts just like Irish immigrants that founded our great club all those years ago.
Now it seems the roles have reversed and after years of solid financial management, decent leadership and playing by the rules we have influence and control of our own destiny, while rangers struggle to turn the corner after years of financial dopin.
Big dermot leads from the front, backed us with Brendan and hey presto a double treble. The pendulum hasn't turned yet.

With all the rumours of certain players coming the one that does excite me is Dominic Solanke even if it's on a years loan. Watched him in the under 20 World Cup where he looked a fantastic talent and got player of the tournament and was top goalscorer. I Truly believe him and Morelos upfront as a pairing would score a lot of goals next season and give us a chance against that lot!

I would love to see us get Solankie on a similar 18 month loan deal that Celtic got Roberts and the lad from Chelsea on. Shows a bit more commitment from the player and in fairness if we had a striker who was performing as you'd expect Solankie to on our books we'd do well to keep him for 18 months anyway.

I think people are expecting him to come bursting through the door at 8 o'clock on Friday morning with Defoe, Skrtel, Goldson and god know who else we've been linked with trailing at his back. He's had commitments throughout the month of May thus was given a start date of June 1st, like any other job in life. At most there will probably be a quick style interview for Rangers TV just to mark the occasion otherwise it will be heads down for the next month.

I'm thinking Mcgregor will ultimately turn out to be our moat important signing this summer. An experienced centre half is a must, another centre half from the spfl like Soutar or Mckenna would be good alongside them with Alves and Wilson from the youth team providing sufficient cover - If need be McCrorie can play there too. But with the whole new look centre half pairing, whoever they are, Mcgregor will be the key component to the entire defence IMO. Wes has done well for us over the past few season but Mcgregor is a different class. He's commanding, vocal and will organise the back 4 in a way that Wes has failed to do in his entire time with Rangers. His shot stopping is not in question and I'm sure he'll win us points this season on that alone but the calming influence he'll have by coming for crosses and talking his defence through the game will make us much better defensively that we've been in a long time. For me he comes in as the best keeper in Scotland by a mile and if Stevie Gerrard is looking for a leader on and off the park them Mcgregor is the man imo. Must be captain.

Well said JM22, but I've never been a fan of a goalkeeper as captain. I'd hope that Jack or Dorrans might have grown into that role and to be fair, Jack has hardly had a chance due to his injury.

I would personally give it to Rossiter if the lad stays injury free. No point giving the captincy to a guy who can't complete a handful of games without picking up another suspension. Just my opinion lads.

I'm usually of the same opinion doiger with regards to captain, like to have a centre half or central midfielder but just feel Mcgregor can be a terrific influence both on and off the pitch with his experience and mentality. I look at who we have right now and he is the best candidate imo. Jack hasn't had a full season under his belt, Dorrans hasn't inspired at all and Rossiter hasn't even played a full 90 minutes in 2 seasons.

He will be going to them. He is on 50k a week though, and regardless of what they might have you believe, I don't think they would pay a player that kind of money when they are so far ahead.
Also, I think if you are coming to play in Scotland at this day in age then you're not worth 50k a week.
